Questioning a Demon
Date of Scene: 08 October 2020
Location: Abandoned Warehouse
Synopsis: Nico summons Levian for some questioning and conversation. Blood is drawn and Levian leaves with an american delicacy: The TURDUCKEN.
Cast of Characters: Nico Minoru, Levian

Nico Minoru has posed:
She was a transient teen. She wandered the city and stayed whereever she could find when she needed shelter or a place to lay her head. She had recently discovered an abandone furniture warehouse in the Bronx, and with the leftover furniture that was around, she had arranged a bit to make it a makeshift home. It was far from perfect, but it provided a safe place to inhabit when needed.

This evening she has done just that, sought refuge in the warehouse and founder herself sitting on a comfortable chair that would easily be found in an upscale living room. "Well Nico. What are you going to do tonight?" She looked on the floor beside her to her backpack and her eyes narrowed as she got a thought. Pushing herself up from the chair, she opened her backpack and pulled out the scroll she had taken from Karolina a few days ago. She knew wood would be easy to find, and before leaving she had grabbed a few pieces of the charcoal and placed it in a pouch in her bag. A quick examine and she discovered that she had everything she needed to summon forth the demon known as Levian. "I have some questions."

The fire was not big, lit from a lighter out of her jacket pocket and the words were read. The young witch stepped back and waited, this time not setting up the protective circle. "I totally think I just fucked that up."

Levian has posed:
It's an odd thing, when Levian is summoned.

He generally doesn't know who's summoning him, but he can get the jist of the ingredients, how official it is, how //formal// it is.

Feeling Nico's ritual tugging at the back of his mind, he could wait for the secret or shame, from whoever it is, or he could just show up and hear it in person.

When he shows up, he's eating fries from a Wendy's bag, hunched over in front of her, staring up at her. "I still need the final ingredient, the //payment//, or I go back. But I was bored and kind of wanted to get it in person."

Nico Minoru has posed:
Oh wow it did work. She honestly was not sure if it would. Maybe she was catching onto this blood magic thing afterall. Her expression is one of suprise and defeat at the same time. She had forgotten about sharing the shame or secret to complete the summoning. She had already shared about Mr. Fluffles so that one was out the door.

Her hands felt to her side and she clenched her fists, closing her eyes and muttering obvious disdain. "Fine. I like K-Pop. You know Korean Pop music. Oh shit...did I just share that?".

She takes a step forward and gestures to another warehouse chair. "Make yourself at home. Welcome to where I sometimes crash." She moves to exstinguish the fire, kicking it a few times and stopping on the ingredients. "I suppose you are wondering why I summoned you. Apprently I caught you in our country's greatest vice: Fast Food Indulgence. Oh well, if you are going to be spending time on Earth I suppose you have to fit in. Greasy fingers and hardened arteries. Yay America."

Levian has posed:
"I've heard of Koreans, and I've heard the term pop music." Levian nods, as if these are words he knows entirely out of context. "Ah wait!" he frowns, but it's too late now. "I can use fires for magic, but it's okay."

He goes to the chair and walks up on it, before suddenly flopping down and sprawling out sideways like some kind of weird animal, his legs hanging over the arm. "I enjoy human decadence, you desecrate corpses in ways that my area of Hell hasn't even thought of. You twist and bend life with a high level of art. It's no wonder they say that some humans become demons."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Yeah for the record. Not Korean." She adds that quickly as if to make him aware that there are different ethnicites from that part of the world. "I can re-light the fire, but I was kind of thinking of not smoking the place up. No real ventilation in here. Not planning on dying toight, so yeah...there is that."

SHe does not move to sit, pacing a bit in front of where Levian has decided to flail himself. "Ah yes. Alcohol. CIgarettes. Drugs. Fast Food. We kill ourselves from the inside out. Drive that body right into the grave I always say." Her hans raises to run across the back of her neck and she stops pacing, turing to face him fully. "So...I have some questions. And you my little three-eyed friend are going to help me with some of the answers. It's quite simple actually. I ask the question, then you give the answeer. Care to try it?"

SHe starts easy, tossing him a softball question it would seem and putting him on the spot. "DO these tights make me look fat?" She turns in front of him.

Levian has posed:
"I can do that, if you'll answer my questions." Levian proposes, considering that he is a demon and all. He's always instinctively trying to angle //something// out of a deal.

His third eye opens and looks her over, as she's curious and magic, but otherwise he very casually continues to lay in his chair. "I heard that humans shove ducks into turkeys. I'm not sure what either of those things are, but it sounds like a Hell torture. I'm not sure why they're so afraid of me if they do things like that. I'd never shove a duck into a turkey, though I kind of want to."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"I will answer questions as I see fit. I mean you will always get an answer, it just simply remains to be seen if it is an answer you will like the reply." She paces slowly in front of him, her arms folded behind her back. "It is true, we do shove ducks into turkeys and sometimes a chicken into the duck. It's called a Turducken and quite frankly I call it a WhatTheFuckin. Certain things should not be inserted into other things. It goes against...well it's just wrong." She stopsd pacing and faces the Demon once more.

"So. What do you hope to accomplish with your time here on Earth?'

Levian has posed:
"I'll learn more about humans, how they live when they aren't suffering, learn about different kinds of fire that I can't find in Hell, enjoy these chairs." Levian reaches over to squeeze the cushion on the back of his chair. "There isn't much comfort in Hell if you aren't a demon lord. I mean, I'm half demon lord, but so are a lot of people. Demon lords have lots of children, the only thing that matters is if you were an on purpose one."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Oh so there are such things as unplanned demon spawn? Well I suppose that makes sense. I mean not really sure how often you demons are bangin gon another down there. I am sure it is bound to happen from time to time." She shrugs and moves to finally sit in the chair, leaning back and placing her hands on its arms. "Humans are..complicated. No one human is quite like another. Trust me I know. You have your go-getters, your free-loaders, your murderers, your saviors. You can spend an eternity here and probably never truly figure out what makes a human...well human."

A finger raises to idly play with a white pearl earring in her ear, completely out of place with her black putfit and persona. "Some humans exist only for themeselves. The selfish ones who are always trying to get the better side of a deal or step on others to make themselves more powerful. Those are the worst."

Levian has posed:
"Most demons are lesser demons that just roam around eating, killing, and committing debauchery to each other. Most of us are unplanned creatures that are born quickly and die just as fast. I'm relatively young for a demon, but I've also lived longer than someone of my status normally does." Levian explains this all while unwrapping what appears to be a Baconator. "Demons come in a variety of types, because we're all very mixed up. And then there are more pure types. But it depends on the part of Hell you're in."

"I don't 'bang on' anyone on Earth yet, mostly because I don't really understand human mating rituals, so I'm just avoiding it until I understand. As far as I can tell, it's uncommon for humans to try and kill each other after mating, and strange non-violent relationships are common. So I have to figure it all out." He sighs as if it sounds like math to him, closing his normal two eyes, but keeping the third open.

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Oh don't get me started on dating and mating rituals. Jesus. You want to talk about something nobody on earth understands it is that. Oh people claim they do, but they just say that to seel some books or get a daytime talk show. Here is all you need to know. Men all want sex and women are friggin crazy. There, no need to buy the book."

She tilts her head to the side, speaking from behind a black strand of defiant hair before her eye. "My answer to you. DOn't try and figure it out. You'll only drive yourself more insane. Let me give you some advice. "Don't give a fuck. That way...you are never disappointed." She flashes him a wide smile, obviously somewhat fake. "Oh my god is that Baconator? I can actually hear your heart crying out for help. I mean that is if you have a heart. DO you have an actual heart?"

Levian has posed:
"I have every human organ, plus some others. Lots of demons have different kinds of organs. I don't think we really keep track of them. Also, because of how I am, I evolve by eating other demons usually, it's why I don't really need human souls as a necessity. I don't tell everyone that, mostly because humans frown upon cannibalism. But that's just my genetic imperative." Levian points to his third eye. "I evolved that from eating a lot of one eye demons when I was young."

Then, considering the other topic, he looks over at her in thought. "So humans aren't much different from demons in that way. I suppose it makes sense, considering what I've seen of damned souls. Though I don't know what disappoints humans. I've heard souls cry out about regrets and lost loves and double murders, but I don't really know what love is."

Nico Minoru has posed:
This new topic hits home. It hits home hard and there is a visible shift in her demanor as she pulls her legs up and hugs her knees. "Loss is the cost of love. You cannot feel loss unless you have loved, but love is hard to define." This is a side of Nico few see, and clearly there is something in her head driving her words and actions. "Sometimes you do not even know you experienced love until it is gone. Then it is too late."

She nibbles her lower lip and she actually has a bit of water forming in her eyes. "I hope you never experience or are able to feel loss. It changes you. It changed me."

She is silent for a moment, raising a hand to wipe her eye. "Sorry, something in my eye. So you are already on your way to being an American male...you have discovered bacon." She was not going to mention how she was the one who found her older sister dead and still had questions about the means.

Levian has posed:
"There are bad things that I feel." Levian is chomping his Baconator as he watches her, noting her emotional response. "You feel loss, and pain, those are the emotions I recognize the most in humans. I also recognize anger. The things humans feel in Hell, those are the feelings of being in Hell all the time. Misery, pain, anger, sadness, depression, longing, wanting more. That's what I've always felt, until I came to Earth. But, it's complicated, because those feelings aren't inherently bad for us, they can be like breathing."

He carefully sits up, carrying his burger and bag as he heads over to her, crossing his legs on the seat next to her as he eats and watches her closer. He's learned about personal space, but he's also learned that sometimes humans want it to be broken. "But it's complicated, because they still feel bad. Hell is my home, living as a demon is just what it is to exist for me, but I think that everyone in Hell suffers. You know, I've spoken to damned human souls, I found myself enjoying them."

The burger is held out to her, in case she wants a bite. "There was a soul, when I was very young. I felt something inside of me, an unfamiliar feeling. I wanted to make the soul not suffer. I liked talking to it, so I wanted to take it with me. But the demon that had a claim to the soul punished me, ripped my essence apart, and then consumed the soul's energy into itself. It felt bad."

He's silent for a long moment. He doesn't express himself like humans do, it's difficult to read what his emotions are at times. But he suddenly leans over, his head on her shoulder, and deadpans words that perhaps betrays what his story made him felt. "I like humans."

Nico Minoru has posed:
Nico listens carefully to the Demon, taking in all he is saying. It is first hand knowledge about a realm she knows little about but has ound herself to have an extreme interest for. She seems really focused and at least for now the sarcasm and wit has decided to remain silent.

When the baconator is offered, she raises a hand and politiely declines. "Oh no thank you. I made a promise to myself that I would never eat anything that rolls around in its on shit."

Usually and many people will attest to this, Nico is not one for close proximity and touching, especially from someone still somewhat considered a stranger. Most attempts are met with a harsh word and usually a swatting of a hand, but in this case when Levian puts his head on her shoulder she does not move, allowing it to remain there at least for now; her reasoning for doing so unclear. "We are an interesting species, that's for sure. I mean would suck for us if you didn't like us, but I can tell you that you will come across many humans that you will not like. I call them Hippies.

Levian has posed:
"I've heard people complain that hippies are why they're in Hell. I never really understood it. Usually the cries of damned souls don't make sense or have context, but sometimes you hear new ones that haven't entirely lost their ability to think." Levian finishes his Baconator pretty quickly, and starts grabbing fries again, which are also offered to her.

"Most demons require human souls for their power. Even I have some human souls powering me. But I only like corrupt souls. People like necromancers, or brutal serial killers. Sometimes you find them roaming free in Hell, and there's a large battle among lesser demons to get them. But I'm mostly powered by other demons, so I don't view humans entirely as prey." He sits up to look over at her, holding up a finger.

"Oh, I know how to explain. Karolina, she's a vegan. I don't like to eat pure souls, they don't really do anything for me. You're a pure soul, your secrets and shames don't even make me hungry." Holding his hand out to her, as if to demonstrate something, he explains, "There's something I want from pure souls, a desire I have, I just don't know what it is. I think it's why I want to understand and be around them. They make me feel things."

Nico Minoru has posed:
Nico takes a few of the offered fries. She was hungry, she could not deny that and fries, well she knew where they came from; mostly. The fries are placed in her mouth and chewed slowly as she continues to listen to the Demon explain his feeding tendancies and what type of souls he is most interested it. "I am pure soul? Well that's news to me. The standards in Hell must be /pretty/ high to have an unpure soul."

As he starts talking about her friend Karolina, she watches him more closely. She clearly is learning something from this summoning. "They make you feel things? Well let me just shoot this out there...you start feelings things..." She gestures to his finger and his hand." ...And we may have a small problem. This drive-thru is closed." She winks and offers another smile.

Levian has posed:
"Huh?" Levian seems confused at first, and then seems to think, perhaps about the languages. "Oh, my desire for debauchery is always very high, but I still don't understand human behavior enough to pursue those things, so it's okay."

He raises his hand and stares at it, opening and closing his fingers. "I mostly use this flesh form to interact with other beings, even in Hell. Most demons are made of flesh, after all. So this form is a genetic imperative. While my other form, I mostly use it for protection, though I don't know many elementals, so I don't really know if it has social uses."

Then, he nods. "To me your soul is pure. Pure souls can get trapped in Hell through deals, but they usually become corrupt very quickly down there."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Yeah well do me a favor...if I ever get trapped in Hell, pull some strings at get me out. I mean that is if my soul is as pure as you say it is. Depsite my fashion choices, I don't really wanna go for the etenral tanned look if you know what I am saying." Her eyes side to look around the warehouse before going back to Levian. "Let me give you a little hint. While on Earth, maybe keep the other form tucked away inside unless you really need it. Thinking you may get a little further with the humans if you take that advice."

Her legs are then lowered to the floor once more, arching her booted feet to only allow her toes to touch the ground. "I think my staff has some bond to me. Some sort of connection I have not been able to figure out except for it requires my blood to do my bidding. A deal made without my conset mind you."

Levian has posed:
"Lucifer seems to be protective of pure souls, though I still don't understand it. He's helping people who would be considered 'good'. I find Lucifer to be terrifying, but I think he would probably save you if I asked very nicely. I didn't even know he existed until I arrived on Earth, he always seemed like superstition, mythology, an urban legend told by old demons, or people who come back from Earth." Levian stares at her chest, where he remembers the staff coming out before.

"It does sound like a strange high level magic deal. Something very beyond my power to do or really understand. With my third eye, I can see magic things, and fire, and other things. But You're very strange." He pauses, staring down at his bag. "This is going to sound strange, and it's not how it sounds, but can I taste your blood?"

Nico Minoru has posed:
There is a brow raised at the request to taste her blood. Normally, this would be something that one might frown upon and run away from, but being a witrch who pracrice blood magic, it is somewhat intrguing. "Um..you want to taste my blood. Like are you a vampire demon or something?" There is a small pause and she leans down, pulling a small knife out of her boot. She has done this many times and it has become second nature to her. The blade is gripped in one hand by the handle and her other hand grips the edge itself. One quick motion and no flinch at all and the hand makes a fist, some blood dripping out the bottom. "Hold out your finger."

She watches him closely. "I have to call the staff...so it will not be coming out. You don't have to concern yourself with that. So what is this going to tell you?"

Levian has posed:
"I'm not. There's probably vampires in Hell, though there isn't much point in them in my opinion." Levian considers, obviously not all-knowing about what happens in his home world. Then he holds out his hand to let some blood drop on it, rather than his finger. He wants a //solid// taste. "I don't know. If it's abnormal, seems reasonable that I might notice something."

He raises his hand and licks the blood from it, tasting it, sitting back against the cushion. "It tastes very good, but I don't taste anything strange. I'm not an expert blood taster or anything, but I just wanted to see if something would happen." He reaches for a few fries to get the remaining blood from his hand, then shoves them into his mouth. "Sorry, I like it."

Nico Minoru has posed:
Nico makes a strange face, almost a face of /seriously dude, that is even fucked up for me. "Ewwww. Okay, that is not going to happen again. I kind of need that to you know make the staff do what I want and I am not looking to scar myself up for someones elses desires." She reaches into her jacket pocket and pulls out a black handkerchief, padding it on her hand and then gripping it. "Was something supposed to happen? If you have a sudden desire for black coffee that night be because it runs through my veins."

She leans back in the chair again. "Not sure my blood is special or anything, but the staff desires an offering to present itself; my blood. You want to talk about a deal...I am a living one."

Levian has posed:
"I thought maybe if it was some kind of demon, the staff itself, maybe I'd feel like your blood gave me power or something. I know someone else who has a curse, or some kind of deal. She has a banshee inside of her, it's a family curse passed down. I don't know a lot about it, I'm not sure if she does either." He starts to crush the paper bag once the food is all gone, taking some pleasure in the small destruction as he smiles slightly.

"Also, that burger was multiple desecrated animals sandwiched between the desecrated seed of the Earth and various other bits of life blasphemy. Your blood was actually the most pure thing I've eaten in days." Levian takes a moment to absorb their surroundings, as he hasn't really taken the opportunity to. "Your house is very large."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Well I am glad you think I taste better than a cow. I mean I think rhat is a compliment as weird as it is to say such a thing." She leans down and places the knife back into her boot, not really bothering to wipe it off. "Oh this isn't my house. I just sort of stay here sometimes. You know, when I am in the area. I don't really have a home anymore. More so by choice and some wonderul decisions made by my parents that I will not discuss, so don't ask.

"She slowly rises from the chair, not looking to depsrt, but more so to stretch her legs out. "I like it actually. Nobody to answer to. No where I need to be. It's freeing."

Levian has posed:
"I understand. That's why I like Earth. I don't hear the distant call of demon lords here. I don't have to run very far to avoid having to take orders and do things. Here, on Earth, I can just be free." Levian stands, looking around the space, and the things laying around. "It's very open, doesn't seem safe. I could make you a nest in a corner somewhere, maybe. Then you can hide in that if people try to hurt you. There's enough stuff here to make a nest..."

Then, as if he's said something that likely only has context for him rather than a human, he asks, "Is that too forward? Sorry, I still don't know the implications of doing things for other people for free, but I find myself doing it more."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"I mean if you want. I am not here all the time. I just kind of pop in at night, sleep and then leave in the morning. I mean if you feel the need to do so, I aint gunna stop you." She reaches down into her backpack and pulls out what looks like a bag of almonds, pouring some into her hand, not the one she just cut, a few are popped into her mouth and she holds out the bag. "Almonds. So good."

"It's all about freedom. I won't ever go back to a lie of being told what to do. I may not know what my future holds, but that will certainly not be an option."

Levian has posed:
"Freedom is good. I think humans are more free than most species, so you should just do what you want. Just don't become a corrupt soul." Levian starts to grab things, like pieces of metal, barrels, and other things, collecting them into a pile.

And then, just as he's about to start, he frowns. "Sorry, I just remembered that you said smoke would kill you. So I probably can't make a nest right now."

Nico Minoru has posed:
"Well smoke inside here without a way for it to get out? Yeah probalby not a good idea. Um and we are in a warehouse full of wooden furniture, if this place goes up, we are going to be on the 10 o'clock news."

She pops another almond in her mouth and chews it, looking over at the summoned demon. "Suprise me someday and ry to not burn the place down okay." She pauses a moment and then nods once, taking the knife from her boot again anddrawing it across her hand once more. "When blood is shed, let the Staff of the One emerge."

Her back arches and she lets out a small cry, trying her best to muffle it. The Staff begins to emerge rom her chest until it is floating in front of her, gripped by her hand. She smiles and mutters one word. "Turducken." And there on a table near where they were seated the monstrosity of a chicken, stuff inside a duck, stuffed inside a turkey appears. "You asked for it."

The Staff then begins to dissipate and as it does the cut on her hand shows signs of healing. "Be careful what you wish for."

Levian has posed:
"Your ability to use blood to then commit further blasphemy is extremely thrilling." Levian states with a deadpan that for him seems more sincere than sarcastic, and then immediately he starts ripping pieces of flesh from the monstrocity, shoving them into his mouth.

"The traditional way to eat a whole dead corpse." he helpfully states with a hand full of meat. "Thank you."
