Date of Scene: 17 October 2020
Location: Delacorte Theater
Synopsis: Peter and MJ catch a moment to eat pizza and touch base on their crazy lives.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Mary Jane Watson

Peter Parker has posed:
Friday night, and the nightlife of New York has come to life, lighting up all the party places in Manhattan.

Peter, on the other hand, has eschewed the bright lights of the big city for someplace a little more sedate. Namely, the outdoor theatre, where Mary Jane does her thespian thing under the sky.

Right now, the lights are out. All the performances are over for the day, and Peter is sitting in the nosebleed seats, waiting for MJ to appear.

He is continually amazed by MJ's acting prowess, even if she is not considered for the gentle waif roles anymore. Not with that physique. He doubted Ophelia had six-pack abs.

A pizza "hot bag" sits on the bleacher seat as he watches them break down the set.

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
It doesn't take long for MJ to appear, having played the part of Miranda in the production of the Tempest for the next two weeks. Well, barring occasional calls of duty to save the world.

Fortunately, those are fairly rare, and there are understudies involved.

In any case, that didn't happen tonight as MJ emerges from the dressing area, clad in a rather casual green faux-turtleneck and blue jeans. Spying Peter quickly, she dashes over towards him and engulfs him in a tight hug. "Hey Tiger! You made it! See the whole thing?"

Peter Parker has posed:
Oof. Even with is superstrength, MJ has a GRIP. He figured swinging a sword for decades does that.

"Hey...MJ. Uhm, yeah, I saw it, but I had to get an Old English translator for some of the parts." He smiled to her. "You made me believe you were both gentle and strong by turns. I didn't expect that."

He points to the hot bag, then a small red cooler behind it. "I brought pizza from Pino's. I hope you're hungry."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane laughs, "Starving, Peter. And that sounds perfect! I'm glad you liked it." She sits down next to Peter, looking curiously at him, "How were classes, and work? Julliard is pretty understanding with my work here in the Park, they love it." She grins cheerfully, then adds, "My /other/ work is pretty cool with it too. I get them a fair number of tickets."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods, giving MJ a light kiss on the lips before moving to open the hot bag and pull out a MASSIVE 24-inch pizza. New York Style, of course. Beef and bacon on one half, and pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms. Bottled soda in the cooler, one of Peter's little mods that kept the contents cool without ice.

"Dig in." As she served herself, Peter said, "I'm doing pretty well, even with my...extra-curricular work. Dr. Connors is a little bummed I nod off in class, but he says my work is innovative and is making up for the shortfall. He probably assumes I'm tired from working for KordCo, which is also providing some unexpected benefits."

He paused, then quietly added while picking up a slice, "He even designed a more durable suit for me..."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
MJ mmms, "Oh really? Well, that sounds pretty cool." She grins and snatches a slice from her side of the pizza. "Still a trainee myself, but with how I've been working out, the other agents seem pretty confident I'll be good to go before too long." She chuckles, looking a bit wry, "If I'm an example of how the trainees keep busy, I shudder to think what's going to be happening when I make a full agent."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter chuckles. "Well, you're awesome, so that is obviously going to be a factor." He sits back grabbing a bottled Arnie from the cooler. "Agent Mary Jane Watson. Just trips right off the tongue, I gotta say."

He pauses for a moment. "Listen, I realize that we don't get many chances to hang out these days, with all your stuff and all my stuff. So I want to propose that either one of us can designate a date as a 'No Shop Talk' date. Because I get a little pedantic about what I do. It's true, of course, but I ruined our first try at a relationship because of it. I don't want to do it again. So, if you want to date with normal topics and normal stuff, you can just make that a thing when or before each date, if you want. You might want to talk shop sometimes, that's okay. But I want you to enjoy it as much as I do when we're together."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
MJ grins, "That sounds positively perfect Peter Parker." She then looks a bit sheepish at the alliteration, then shrugs, "But it's probably for the best I don't talk too much shop. I mean..." She makes a bit of a face, as SHIELD does have some levels of classification that boyfriends are not cleared for, sadly.

"Though, at some point I'd love for you to meet a few of my friends from work. They're really great, and some of them are absolutely brilliant. You'd love talking shop with them, I'm sure of it."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter chuckles. "Maybe. But you might have to make sure I know beforehand if they want to meet me or...well, Other Me." He smiles sheepishly. "I try to look as unimpressive as possible in regular clothes. But any friends of yours, I'd love to meet."

He takes a few bites of pizza and hmms. "Yeah, that's the stuff. So, tell me about Julliard. What kind of classes are you taking there?"

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane mmms, "Right now, taking a pretty good selection. Dialects, set design, and stage direction." She chuckles, "It's pretty focused, but also very good. And I've been careful to make sure I don't overtax myself with this."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "Gotta have a way to just...relax."
He chuckles. "Webslinging must be very relaxing for Spider-Man, you know. Being able to move like that through the city, above the noise without being disconnected from the people below. Let the mind work while the rest is almost automatic."

He looks back to Mary Jane. "I hope you have something like that. Something that is almost...meditative."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane grins, "Um... well, I do have acting, that definitely helps. Also, beating the heck out of practice dummies. That tends to relax me a bit. Sonja keeps telling me I need to go out drinking, at which point we have yet /another/ discussion about liquor laws in New York." She gives Peter a wry expression. "But yeah, Spidey's a pretty lucky guy, having that place where he can just get into his own space."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter smiled to her. "I can't imagine the conversations you and her must have." He takes a swig. "All things considered, I shouldn't be surprised you're her blood. You always had a fire in you."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
MJ grins, "Why, Tiger, I don't know what you mean..." She looks perfectly innocent. Of course, she's also a trained actress, or working on it. To say nothing of becoming a secret agent, or something.

"But yeah, I definitely like what I do. All of what I do, really. It's very interesting." She smiles, taking a swig from her own Arnold Palmer as she absently noms on the pizza, taking a rare moment to relax with Peter.

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods, then looked over to the stage.
"Any thoughts about Halloween? Harry's got a big party planned, of course. He asked if I could make it. When I told him we were dating again, he looked surprised...then pleased. There was something else, but I might have imagined it."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
MJ chuckles, "Well, Harry is always good for a party, I'd be happy to go there. I might even break out Sonja's outfit for the occasion." She grins a bit impishly, giving Peter a wry expression, "Though, I don't really have any plans, Peter. I've been so busy though, a good party seems like just the answer."

Peter Parker has posed:
Peter nods. "Maybe we could do one of those couples costumes. I could dress up as the sneaky, bumbling thief Sonja has to protect all the time because he's comic relief."

Mary Jane Watson has posed:
Mary Jane gives Peter a wry look at that, "Well, I suppose... I mean, if that's what you want to do." She grins, "I don't think you're any sort of bumbling comic relief, Peter." With that, she gives him a rather firm kiss, as is to emphasize her point.
