Cast of Characters: T'Challa, Shuri

T'Challa has posed:
It's a frigid day for New York in mid October. The temperature plunging down into the low 40s. T'Challa returns to the embassy, wearing a coat and gloves. The gloves are removed while someone comes over to take his coat. He'd like to object and say he will hang it up himself, but he realizes the importance of letting people do their jobs. Lest they think you believe they aren't doing things properly.

He turns towards Okoye who is shrugging out of her own coat. Though no one comes for it. They know better. Okoye says, "If it is going to be this cold they should at least have snow. We could go skiing," she tells T'Challa.

This draws a smile from him. "I have not been skiing in a few years. I did not know that you skied, Okoye," he says.

Okoye looks over as someone brings a tray with mugs of warm beverages, waiting for T'Challa to take his before she gets one. "I do many things you do not know about, my king. And I do them very well," she says with a small grin before heading off to check on security while she was gone.

T'Challa moves into one of the reception rooms to enjoy the warm drink, holding it in both hands to warm them.

Shuri has posed:
If it were anyone else, Shuri's ploy would have likely worked. It is, however, T'Challa so he can hear it. He can also see it. The most sublte of noises of a foot step. The barest of shifting in the air as someone or something moves to his right and then his sister appears and she goes, "Boo!" She also...has up a personal forcefield. Ya know, just in case cause it is T'Challa and she doesn't need a punch to the face from him. His punches hurt. She knows all too well first hand from sparring matches. He might be her older brother but he doesn't hold back when training.

T'Challa has posed:
Given how acute his senses are, the little startled motion and soft gasp that T'Challa gives were quite likely done for Shuri's benefit rather than because he was startled. But he does a fair job of it, if just a mile start. One that won't spill his drink.

He looks over to her and gives his sister a warm smile. "Good evening, sister," he tells Shuri. "If you do not need to go out? It is the kind of day for staying inside by a fire," he comments, giving a little shiver. "I need to make sure to switch to the habit that has the heater in it," he says of his Black Panther costume. "And how are you doing today?"

Shuri has posed:
"You don't need to fake it on my account." She smirks and considers, "Obviously it isn't ready yet if some overstuffed king can spot me." She smiles wider before looking past him toward the exit and then shakes her haed, "I have no reason to go out most days, well, not till recently after pseaking to Nadia." She nods her head, "You have spoken to her already, I believe, yes?" She hmms and idly sips her own hot cocoa that she was hiding underneath that stealthy approach.

T'Challa has posed:
T'challa looks down towards his stomach and pats it with a hand as if tentatively feeling it. "Stuffed perhaps," he says, before giving a tiny side to side finger wag of negation, "But not OVER-stuffed," he counters before giving Shuri a soft smile.

He nods his head then. "I did see her. At the party, the rescue celebration, slash adoption, slash birthday party on her yacht," he says. "You would have enjoyed the food. Janet has such impeccable taste." T'Challa glances at his sister's slender form. "Perhaps I should have brought you back a to-go bag. I worry you may waste away," he says, the teasing delivered in a very straight-laced tone with just his eyes revealing his enjoyment of it. "So are you going to be pursuing scientific matters with her? There was discussion of mini-black holes and supernovas. Is the world safe?" he asks, this time letting the slight grin show.

Shuri has posed:
"Of course not." She states and gestures to him, "But fear not, for it has a protector." She then brings her hand back to herself, "Me." She nods again before laughing and giving a slight push as she approaches and shakes her head, "I am svelte." She states and nods her head as she then walks past him toward the path to the exit to look out, "So cold and no snow." She states simply enough, "What is even the point, I ask?" She then turns back to him.

"We are going to be forming a sort of group to work on science together though I did warn them that vibranium is off the table unless absolutely necessary for global security." She shrugs, "It is too dangerous, honestly."

T'Challa has posed:
T'Challa gives a sigh of agreement about cold weather without snow. While of course Wakanda has mountains with perpetual snow, the bulk of the country is nearer to tropical than not. And those mountains are the home of the gorilla tribe. Not exactly the friendliest of areas for the royal family.

"There is your first project. Raise the freezing point of water," he tells Shuri before taking a sip from the warm mug he's cradling in his hands. After the drink, he says in a more serious voice. "Shuri? Do not raise the freezing point of water. Please," he says as if regretting he might have put the thought in her head.

A slow nod follows then at the mention of vibranium. "I hope to get the nation to open ourselves more to the outside world. Even outreach programs, humanitarian missions have some opposition amongst our people. Which grows the further away from Africa they move. Keeping a lid on vibranium and our technology as much as possible, is still important," he agrees. "Our people are not ready for the world to know that yet, I fear," he says with a sigh.

Shuri has posed:
A smile and a nod, "I am looking forward to it, brother. I wish to be more involved more openly but even if I hate it at times, I do agree. Our people are...used to the more modern ways." She nods to the world outside, "Not this barbaric nature of things." She looks over at him< "Can you believe they still fight over oil?" She then shrugs and walks off back toward her lab, "I will see you later, brother."
