How's Happy Harbor, Harper
Date of Scene: 09 March 2020
Location: Library - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: Roy and AJ are in study hall when Oliver stops by to check in on Roy.
Cast of Characters: Roy Harper, AJ Strong, Oliver Queen

Roy Harper has posed:
It's Monday afternoon at Happy Harbor High and when one inquires as to the location of one Roy Harper, one might be directed to the Library of all places. One might be given to doubt this destination all things considered. And yet, there he is. Roy sits at a study table with a couple of books in a pile next to him, another one open in front of him, and a notepad that has copious neat hand-writte.... no. Let's not go that far. The notepad has a series of doodles along the margins and maybe a few scribbled words. He seems, however, to be making a halfhearted attempt at doing the reading while seated across from AJ who also has some homework. It's a study hall period, and they appear to actually be.. studying, between idle bouts of quiet conversation.

Roy's dressed as he usually is, in a pair of ripped jeans with some red chucks, a dark red sweater, and a baseball cap on that he's been told to take off several times, but always finds its way back onto his head.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ might be the more diligent student of the pair, which isn't saying much, but his notebook is actually full of handwriting. Is that supposed to be handwriting? It looks like he might be trying to invent his own alphabet, as it's absolutely attrocious and chicken scratch might be a compliment. But still, he's got one book open in front of him as he jots down notes, looking sour about it the whole time. He's still dressed partially in uniform, though a Happy Harbor High hoodie has been pulled on over his top and his tie has no doubt been removed from beneath it.

AJ frowns at something in his book, then looks back to his notes, then back to the book. "This makes no sense. And why do I need to know how a cell makes energy anyway? I'm not going into biology.."

Oliver Queen has posed:
It's never an easy time when Oliver visits.

Lots of memories, bad blood that's gone by, regrets. He has often been called Mr. Judgement, and with good reason. Which naturally made things all the more difficult when Roy was in Starling. But he is not that old that he can't improve, or at least try better. He has tried to keep an eye out for Roy and today decided to visit. He sometimes does, not exactly -that- often, but today here he is.

Being told that Roy is in the library is a surprise, definitely not where he expected to find him. But there he goes.

His footsteps can be heard entering the otherwise quiet library, dressed in a more casual manner than the usual boring suits he likes to wear so much (when not out as Green Arrow), jeans, woolen shirt, a jacket atop it. Perhaps trying to look cool in those 35 years of his. He notes the pair and approaches.

"Good afternoon."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Biology's not so bad," Roy says with a shrug of his shoulders. "Cells are easy. It's History that makes me want to bash my face into a table." He doodles something else on the page, an image of said face hitting a table with little motion lines to indicate the repeated banging. Well, he's writing something. That's.. different, at least.

The familiar cadence of footsteps doesn't register at first, but the voice does, and Roy's head comes up quickly to see Oliver standing there. He blinks, and then squints after a moment and says, "Hey." It's a little flat, but not unfriendly. He's silent for a moment or two, looking the man over and then nods his head at AJ. "That's AJ." Then he pauses and remembers what he'd told AJ, "Uh, this is my uncle." His gaze flickers back over toward Oliver, gauging his reaction to the story that Roy'd decided to adopt for how he'd ended up at Happy Harbor. His uncle enrolled him, of course.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Still not going to use it." AJ mumbles under his breath, as he starts copying a diagram out of the book. His drawing skill is only marginally better than his writing. At least he seems to be able to read it. He looks up at the voice, part of his brain possibly registering who he's looking at before going back to that frustrating diagram. Then his pen stops mid-scritch, and he looks up at Roy, then slides his attention back over to Oliver in that sort of way that says his brain is still processing what is going on. It's not a look he wears often.

"Your uncle?" Oh, so recognition does sink in because he does sound a little.. not quite incredulous but definitely no longer on steady footing. "Your uncle is Ol..." AJ coughs slightly, and schools his face to something a bit more polite. "A pleasure to meet you, sir." He says in his most polite tone to Oliver, it's the rather distinct tone of a kid adopting the polite manner a parent would have drille into him for rich business contacts. "I can leave you two alone if you'd like."

Oliver Queen has posed:
"I see you are putting your head right into the study.." Oliver says to Roy with just the hint of a smile coming to the corner of his lips. Did he notice the banging-head drawing? Most likely. He's always been the observant kind. But well, at least he didn't sound too judgemental..., this time.

"Hello, Roy." He says it in a familiar manner, a nod of the head and then his attention goes to AJ. He rolls along with the uncle part. Sure, he can be an uncle. "Yes, I am Oliver Queen. Good to meet you, AJ." there is mild surprise at being recognized while he extends his hand for a handshake with AJ. "Roy hadn't told me about you yet. Recent acquaintances?" not that Roy tells him much about school stuff, but that's details!

"And no, stay. I should be the one asking if I am interrupting. I should had called first perhaps."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah, you know me, always hitting the books," Roy says, in a tone that indicates clearly that there is no one in this room who would believe that. Hitting someone /else/ with books, maybe. But it doesn't have the usual edge to it that it might have in the past. He gives a shrug of one shoulder and asks, "What, and give me a heads up to run?" with one brow arched. But then he nods to one of the chairs and says, "We're not going anywhere for the rest of this study hall. You can give me an excuse to be the delinquent that I am and not study." He lashes a sudden grin, then, as though accusing Oliver of being a bad influence somehow entertains him. There were definitely heated words in the past, but there's no particular heat or fire in Roy right now. He seems.. calm. He certainly looks healthy rather than strung out, at least for the moment. "Yeah, I just met AJ what.. a week ago?" He glances over to AJ to confirm. "At the burger joint. He can almost eat as much as me." Another grin. "He plays the cello, too. Imagine my surprise when he was all 'I got a new bow!' and I was all 'badass!' and then it turned out to be for a stringed instrument." He still finds that funny.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ takes the offered hand, giving a firm, business-like handshake. "Um, yes, fairly recent." There's more eye darting between Oliver and Roy, though he's keeping his expression carefully schooled to neautrality, with just the right touch of a smile so as to not be rude. "Friday night, place was packed, he let me sit at the table." See, AJ can be good and pass on nice wholesome stories.

And then Roy is relaying the bow story and AJ suddenly finds his note book to be the most interesting thing in the world, maybe intending to pull his hood up and over his head. "Well, I mean, that's what I think of when someone says bow." Then there's a momentary glance to Roy. "You still owe me that.." And then he remembers where he is, and that there are other students around. Well, other students and an adult. "Soda." Yes, smooth recovery.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Yes, I know you perhaps too well." Oliver says with that briefest of a grin that shows he most likely understands what use he'd prefer to be giving those books now. But then he just laughs about the running away. "Fine, you got me there." because in truth, he never calls before visiting. One of his things. He reaches out for a chair and settles down, elbows on his knees, studying Roy's features. The calm he finds there is both a surprise but also something that appears to please him. Maybe there was something right to be taken of the past decisions he had made. Good.

"Mentioning bows is pretty much the magic word where it comes to Roy." not that he explains much more than that. Not exactly aware of what AJ knows of Roy. But archery is just a common hobby for a lot of kids, right? "I can see why you two hit it off." though the story does amuse him. He casts a look between the two of them, observant.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper smirks just a bit. Oliver does know him perhaps a little better than he'd like, but he shrugs that off just slightly and nods when Oliver sits. He's not running. He's not being hostile. Maybe Happy Harbor hasn't been so bad for Roy even if he hasn't been here very long. He watches Oliver with equal observance, and while he would never admit it aloud, perhaps he's a little relieved to see him pleased rather than otherwise.

Then he grins over at AJ who seems to be retreating into his hoodie, "I'll still show you my bow. I promised -- you show me yours, I'll show you mine." His grin is broad and amused. "I'm going to join the archery club, team, whatever, thing.. whenever they open it up," he announces, gaze flickering to Oliver. It's apparent that that's probably the extent of what he's told AJ about his weapons expertise, given their friendship is only a little over a week old. "Oh! Tony Stark was here, too, for the assembly last week. And I totally got AJ a selfie with him." He's proud of /that/ too.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well, you still need to come to one of my kickboxing classes. Still think you'd enjoy them." AJ responds. "Not that the school has a kickboxing team, totally would join it if there was one." He scratches at the side of his nose for a moment as he thinks that over. "Maybe not, some of our classmates are kind of scary big." Then he's grinning as the Stark story comes out.

"I told Roy you can't just go up to a guy like Stark and ask for an autograph, especially not with the secret service goons around, and what does he do. Just that. Technically I was right though, Stark doesn't do autographs." Snatching victory out of the jaws of defeat he smirks at Roy. "Did get that killer selfie though." He shakes his head. "Then the talk went to politics and..." AJ just wrinkles his nose. "Not one question about being a superhero, just about being president, what sort of weird school is this? Seriously?"

Oliver Queen has posed:
And Oliver doesn't seem to be too much of Mr. Judgement today. Or well, not in words. His deep blue gaze still watches Roy intently, perhaps unspoken questions there. But those can also wait. Might as well enjoy some time in peace. There's not a lot of those moments in his world.

"With the amount of devotion you have given to the bow the other kids will be trailing behind." And in truth, he isn't too sure if it's such a good idea but well, it's time for Roy to make his own decisions. It's why he is here afterall.

He lifts a brow then at the mention of Tony having been here. "That guy is always one step ahead of me." he tsks, but he says it in good-humor, "I am sorry I couldn't be here. There were .., certain matters that couldn't be delayed." he frowns, perhaps a bit in frustration. It most likely means there's still unsolved problems too, the way he frowns, and of the Green Arrow kind.

But his expression smooths up fast enough. He looks at AJ. "It's all everyone is talking about. Both his and Lex's run to presidency. I am not too surprised."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah sure, so he said no, but then he took the selfie, right, and you woulda gotten neither if we'd just sat there on the bench and never went up. So, my point still stands," Roy says, whatever his point might be. 'Hold my soda' might be the extent of it. He does his level best to ignore any unspoken questions from Oliver. There'll be time for those later, but for now he seems to be intent on talking about normal things. Everyday things. Isn't that the point of Happy Harbor? Making all the weird kids blend in and seem more normal?

To Oliver, though, he says, "Yeah, but I don't have super powers so, it's still just me and the bow. I'm allowed to be good at it. I practice. A lot." There's that slight bristling that had been laying dormant under the surface. It's his thing. He's been good (mostly). But archery is one thing he is not willing to give up.

But the talk turns to business and Stark and he studies Oliver again, thoughtfully, and finally says, "He was just here because he's a guest lecturer sometimes," in a way that kind of dismisses Tony's presence over Oliver's. The guy was there because he had to be, not because he seemed like he really wanted to be. "Sorry there's a lot of stuff going on." Green Arrow stuff, he assumes, by the look that he gives Oliver. Also, perhaps an unspoken, sorry that he's not there to help. But that was not his decision at the time. So here he is. With books. In a library.

He then grins at AJ and says, "I'm going to a class. You just gotta tell me when kickboxing is. I could really use some ass-kicking practice." That grin is all mischief and does not bode well.

AJ Strong has posed:
"He'd be better than Lex Luthor anyway." Then AJ is snickering and looking to Roy, "Have you seen that meme where it's his rising sun logo and then it zooms out and it's not a sun but his shiny bald head?" He laughs again though it dims a little after a moment, "Ehh.. I guess you have to see it." And then he slips into that background silent mode for a moment, the one every teen instintively knows to adopt when they sense a fight brewing between a friend and a parent in front of them. The ignore me, I'm not here posture.

Thankfully, the need only seems to last a minute as Roy once more pulls him back into the conversation. "Wednesday nights are when I go. I'll swing by and knock on your door before I get ready to go."

Oliver Queen has posed:
"It depends whether we are talking about the man or the superhero." Oliver replies to AJ in a 'I am not so certain about that'. He has had his own experience with politics and in truth .., he couldn't truly make as much of a difference as he could when donning the hood. Not that he stopped trying. "But the race should be an interesting one." and he leaves it that. He knows politics most likely aren't what would interest the boys.

Instead he grins at the mention of kickboxing, though he does give Roy a look. Archery is not the only thing he is good at! "You'd better be careful with this one, AJ. Don't go easy on him on kickboxing practice." there, at least he warned AJ.

But his attention then settles on Roy. He tells him in a serious manner. "Next time you have a break, you should come to Starling. There is someone I would like you to meet. And you know Thea, always asking about you." but the look he gives Roy is one that seems to tell he may need some help as well.., for other matters.

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper grins a little sidelong at AJ but politics isn't something that he's really all that into, "Haven't seen it yet but I'm sure I will. Can't escape the ads everywhere. The he nods when AJ says the classes are Wednesdays. "Alright, come by and grab me whenever you're ready to go."

Oliver's guess at his interest level when it comes to politics is accurate, and he seems willing to let that topic fall by the wayside. He sees the /look/ and that grin only broadens and becomes all innocence. Oh sure, he is primarily a ranged fighter, though he can fight with blades as well. But he's never actually taken a kickboxing lesson per se, has he? "What? I don't expect anybody to go easy on me."

His expression grows a little more serious though, when Oliver mentions Starling and he says, "Alright. I can come up on the weekend." That response might be startling, too. One might expect Roy to jump at a chance to flee the school grounds, skip classes, run off to Starling. But here he is. "Say hi to Thea for me, yeah? Tell her I'm doing good."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I'm pretty sure Roy can kick my as-butt." Rough recovery, eight points for sticking the landing. "It's just nice to have a sparring partner you know, you know?" He tucks his pen behind his ear, pretty much figuring he's not going to be writing anything in the immediate future, though his eyes do go to the book in front of him with a squint of annoyance for the diagrams showing on its pages. "Not to mention, I don't want someone who will go easy on me, I don't think Roy will."

He picks up his book as the two talk about Starling and what seems like personal business. Only an idiot would think he isn't listening to every word, but at least he's being polite and feigning not eavesdropping.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"What I can tell you AJ is that Roy never goes easy in anything in his life. For the better or the worse. But that's maybe his best quality too." Oliver says with a brief grin at the cello-enthusiast. And whatever he means by that exactly! Not that he seems prone to explaining further. Instead he says, "I am glad he seems to be finding a good friend here." and he seems genuine about it too.

"The weekend's good." Oliver says with a brief nod, thoughtful a moment. Yes, he could work with that. Then he starts getting up to his feet. "And you can tell her yourself when you are there." he says. "Time for me to be on my way. I am not leaving the city just yet, just tend to some business so perhaps I will still drop by later."

Just like Oliver, not announcing whether he is leaving for sure or not. But it seems to be a game between them. "Be good."

Roy Harper has posed:
"It's not any fun if you're going easy," Roy says with a grin that certainly confirms what both of them are saying, for better or for worse. He definitely doesn't do things by half measures. And he certainly does often do things the hard way. And does he look, maybe, just a little bit proud when Oliver mentions that being his best quality? Maybe, but he swiftly looks elsewhere, like at the books in front of him, before it crosses his expression for too long.

He nods about the weekend and says, "Alright, I will." Though he certainly doesn't plan to call and announce when he's dropping in, either. Two can play at that game. He smirks just a little when Oliver neither confirms nor denies his departure. Typical. "Or at least be good at it," he returns and gives the man a little up-nod. "See you this weekend, or sooner." Whichever. He watches the man go for a moment or two, and then looks back toward AJ.

"He does that. Just.. kinda shows up. He might be back. Might not."

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ looks up from his book as Oliver stands to depart. "It was nice meeting you. I'll try not to break your nephew too bad." Which comes with him sticking his tongue out at Roy. Maybe that bravado rubbing off on him might not be the best thing in the world. Though after a moment he plucks his pen out from behind his ear and gets back to note taking with a grimace. Break time over.

"That is kinda weird. But, remember, what is weird on normal people is just eccentric in a rich guy." There's a moment of silence from AJ before he looks over at Roy again. "For instance, my dad collects ducks. Doesn't matter what they are, decoys, statues, paintings. He just has a whole room filled with... ducks." There's a shrug. "Eccentic."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper laughs a little bit at AJ's promise not to break him too badly and shakes his head, "You sure about that? I dunno, man. If you land me in the hospital, maybe I can get out of some of this history work." He has slim hope of that. But then he pulls his own notes out and actually writes a few words rather than doodles on the page before glancing up again. "Ducks, huh? I mean, there are worse things. Shrunken heads. Ears of his enemies. Infectious disease collection..." He gives a light shrug of his shoulders. "Can't really fault a guy too hard for just liking ducks."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Unless he's dating them... like the pigeons.", Roy adds after a moment's thought.

AJ Strong has posed:
"Dad doesn't really date, ducks or otherwise." AJ laughs softly and shakes his head. "I told him he should get back out there and give it a go, but he doesn't seem to want to. Maybe I'll just sign him up for OK Cupid and see what happens." he looks thoughtful for a moment, then shakes his head. "No, that'd probably be a bad idea." His attention goes back to his book. "I'll get you out of history if you get me out of biology."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper laughs and says, "Yeah that sounds like a bad plan. I mean, not that I'd know. My folks are dead, so they won't be dating any time soon, either." And he sure isn't getting himself involved in his uncle's relationships, that seems to go unspoken. "You've got a deal," he grins sidelong, but he still turns his attention back to the history book in front of him and actually does appear to be reading it. "So, yeah, sorry about that. I didn't know he was just going to show up. I would have warned you."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Deal, Wednesday night we beat each other into oblivion." AJ says with a mild laugh and only sounding half serious. Though he gives Roy a bit of a sympathetic look over the top of his book, he doesn't say anything more on the topic of parents. "I'm kind of used to having random businessmen just popping in and out, makes me feel at home. Though gotta say, if I had to guess your uncle he would not have been on the list."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper snorts and says "Okay not quite to oblivion. I still want to enjoy cheeseburgers and like, my jello in the hospital, not be in a coma, man. Dial it back a little." He grins, though as he flips through the book, not seeming to mind the sympathetic look or the discontinuation of the topic. He chuckles and says, "Yeah well.. Oliver'll turn up from time to time. We won't tell him it makes you feel at home though. I'm not sure his ego needs that." Though he seems to be joking a bit. Then he shrugs his shoulders, "Sometimes life is weird, and circumstances take you places you didn't think they would. Sometimes you end up with a surprise kid you weren't expecting. SURPRISE."

AJ Strong has posed:
"I guess that's true, maybe a broken arm. The right arm, so I can't write. I could probably still play with a broken arm. Maybe." AJ is giving this way too much thought. "So far hanging around you I got a selfie with Tony Stark, and got to meet Oliver Queen. I mean.. well.. the two aren't exactly equal but it's still kinda cool. Who are you going to introduce me to next? Lex Luthor? Oh! Maybe Beyonce? You're never getting rid of me now."

AJ shakes his head. "If life is going to surprise me with a kid, I hope its a few years in the future, yet."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper shakes his head and rolls his eyes a bit, grinning. "I'm not going to break your arm." He pauses. "Intentionally." Because sometimes things happen, but he certainly doesn't intend to do any harm to AJ. Then he snorts, "That's about it. And it's not like I knew Stark. I just don't fear walking up to and talking to random people for no good reason." He shrugs his shoulders. "Don't know Beyonce either, but tell you what -- if we run into her somewhere I will absolutely ask her for an autograph for you." He laughs outloud then and says, "Yeah well.. I don't foresee that being a problem for me. Sooner or later."

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ sighs and rubs the back of his neck. "In that case.. I guess I better make sure I can pass this test." He shakes his head with an annoyed sounding grunt and a grumble under his breath. "Friend won't even break my arm when I ask nicely." Though he smirks and laughs after the comment. "I may not be the best at biology, but.. I know I'm not going to have kids of my own. My nerve disease may be covered over but it's still genetic. I'm not risking putting any kid through that."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Did I ever mention that I'm kind of a shit friend?" Roy asks with a wry look over at AJ as he jots down a couple more notes -- actual notes, in his notebook. He looks up and over toward AJ then and studies him for a moment or two, considering before he says, "Yeah, I guess that makes sense to feel that way. Hadn't really thought of that. I mean, not like I'm Oliver's kid." He pauses and then admits, "We're not even blood related. He just took me in."

AJ Strong has posed:
"Well.. there's other reasons, too." AJ says with a shake of his head, flipping the page in his book and letting out a heavy sigh. "Oh look.. more diagrams. I love diagrams." He begins to scribble in his notebook again. "I mean, adoption is cool and all, I could probably do that. But that would be years away yet, I want to enjoy being young and not having to be responsible for someone else, especially if I'm going to.." He glances at the window and shrugs. "Travel a lot, or do other tings. I missed out on a lot of living and need to make it up."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Yeah, makes sense," Roy says with a nod of his head. "I'm just too much of a mess to take care of a kid. Oliver and I don't always get along but," and he drops his voice a bit as though even saying it outloud might summon him back with a smug look on his face, "I owe him a lot. And I'm not always .. I guess.. what he'd hoped I'd be." He lets his shoulders rise and fall. Then he goes back to reading the passage in his book. "You mean running around saving the world like half the folks in here hope they'll do someday?" He asks without looking up.

AJ Strong has posed:
"I don't know, he seemed pretty proud of you and even dropped some of those humble brags parents like to toss out about their kids." AJ says with a grin, laughing slightly, the a bit softer once he gets a dirty look from one of the other students. "Why you need to call me out like that?" But he's grinning slightly. "I mean.. it's just.. I dunno. I guess most people would just think I'm some sort of poser, but I really do think I can help.."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper looks over at AJ and seems about to comment on Oliver and just how /not/ proud of him he's been in the past, but that argumentative look kind of dies on the vine and he nods, "Yeah. He seemed.. not in a bad mood today." He looks thoughtful as he glances in the direction that Oliver went. Then his attention is back on the conversation at hand. "Why would you be a poser? I mean, people work with what they've got and make a difference with what they've got, and if you don't have any kind of crazy superpowers, then you work with what skill you have, and you practice it til you're the best."

AJ Strong has posed:
"He seemed nice. A little gruff, but nice." AJ meets Roy's look with an arched brow but doesn't push the topic further. Getting involved in another person's family drama is a sure fire way to get your nose bitten off. OR maybe he does continue. "Besides, coming out here from Sterling just to ask you to come home and visit? That's.. well.. Even if he's out here on other business, he came." He just puts up his hands, spread a little a part as if to say, 'consider that'. "Why? Becuase I.. I don't know. I just feel like I'm the last person that should be out there sometimes."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper nods his head, and there is no nose biting to follow. He just says a quiet "Yeah," in answer to the fact that Oliver came. He had come. He had checked in on him. He didn't have to. Even if he was there on business. And he didn't have to ask him to go back, either. In fact, part of him probably hadn't expected to get an invitation to go back. He's lost in his own thoughts for a moment or two before he snaps out of it and asks, "Why not? What makes you less worthy than anybody else?"

AJ Strong has posed:
"I.. dunno. I guess I'm just.." AJ shrugs. "Sometimes it just feels like I'm messing around, playing at being a hero." He's keeping his voice to a bare whisper, idly flicking at the pages at the corner of his text book. "I don't expect to get to the big time, not like the Justice League or the Avengers, but.. I mean, I just tool around downtown and scare off purse snatchers and pick pockets. I know it shouldn't matter, it's still good work, but like I said, I feel like I'm playing."

Roy Harper has posed:
"Are you helping people who needed help? Do they appreciate it? Sounds like your heroing to me. Yeah, maybe you're not catching a falling building with your bare hands, but you're making a difference for somebody and that's more than most people do." Roy shakes his head, clearly not about to accept that as an excuse for AJ to think less of himsel.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ blinks a few times. "I'm pretty sure a falling building would just kind of.. squish me. Painfully. Like an overfull tube of toothpaste. Pop." He even makes a popping gesture with his hands as he says the word, just incase Roy doesn't understand. "You're right though, it's been a couple of weeks, maybe I'm just feeling in a slump and need to get back out there.."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy Harper laughs at that illustration and then tries to look serious as he says, "Then I'd suggest not trying to catch one." He grins and shrugs, "Do wat you can. Train to do what you want to do as best you can. If you want it, you'll do it." He seems confident of that. "Bravely saving the world while afraid to ask Mr. Stark for an autograph." It's a gentle tease, but he does seem to have faith in AJ.

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ puffs out his cheeks, managing to look just a little indignant. "I wasn't afraid. It was a matter of propriety and etiquette." Then his expression falters a little. "Then again I should have thought.. that's Tony Stark, he's not exactly known for following propriety and etiquette. So, yes, you win this time." He gives one last disgusted grunt at the textbook in front of him and closes it with a grunt. "I need to go for a run tonight, I swear I'm going to explode if I have to read another paragraph that contains the word nucleus."

Roy Harper has posed:
Roy grins and says "Uh huh," when AJ gets to the part about propriety and etiquette and such, and then remembers who he was talking about, and he can't help but chuckle. "Yep, that round goes to me." He closes up his books and begins to tuck the ones that are his rather than the library's into his bag that he slings over his shoulder. "Don't splode, man, that's messy." He pauses and then hesitates, and then after a moment or two he asks, "Want some company?"

AJ Strong has posed:
AJ starts packing up his own stuff, shoving it rather unceremoniously into his bag. "Sure, get changed and I'll meet you at the school entrance in thirty?" He stands and slings his bag over his shoulder. It looks like the librarian is about to admonish them about study hall not being over yet, but as soon as they are up the bell rings and AJ shoots her a triumphant grin.

Roy Harper has posed:
"Freeeeedooooom," Roy says with a grin, though he keeps his voice low to avoid further glares from the librarian as they both make their way out of the library. "I'll meet you out front in thirty," he confirms before adjusting his bag on his shoulder and heading for the door, practically jogging out of the library to get back to the dorms and out again, free of the books for another day.
