Shine: Ashy Aftermath
Date of Scene: 28 October 2020
Location: Beacon House - Crime scene
Synopsis: Diana Prince (Wonder Woman), Stephanie Brown (Spoiler) and Bart Allen (Impulse) investigate the burnt-out shell of the Beacon household in Gotham, and investigation is interrupted by FINN ADDAMS of the Gotham Gate newspaper -- a rumourmill trying to go legit.

Afterwards, Diana meets up with Phoebe Beacon and provides a little peace of mind for the young healer.

It is now known that Bernie Frank, a known arsonist, was not investigate or charged with the fire in the Narrows in Gotham that killed Phoebe's adoptive father, but he has admitted to the crime, and purposefully went after Caroline Beacon and Phoebe Beacon, the Outsider known as Balm -- and even their dog, Scout!

With Caroline Beacon in the ICU and in isolation, there is now a challenge two ways -- keeping Phoebe from being labeled a homeless teen and lost to the system in Gotham, and finding a way to get her to her mom!

Cast of Characters: Phoebe Beacon, Bart Allen, Diana Prince, Stephanie Brown

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
    DECEMBER 2ND

Last night it was over the Gotham news. Wonder Girl, Impulse, and Arsenal had saved Caroline Beacon, wife of Charles Beacon, the couple who had adopted 'Baby Phoebe Doe' fourteen years back. Barely a blip in the paper where the biggest news was related to corruption continuing in Gotham City.

The scene had a light snowfall over it, the fire at last had been put out and the building stabilized -- mostly -- for investigation. It would be a total loss.

The investigation was largely over; they had determined a short in the system had actually caused the fire, accellerated by Bernie Frank -- responsible for the Narrows Fire that had claimed Charles Beacon's life -- and that had been the cause of the lack of fire alarms in the household.

But was there more? Was that the end of the story?

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen has come out to give it a look over, knowing some of the others have things they have to do. He has gotten a trench coat, a size or two to large for him and a fedora. He jingles a bit when he moves as he has some glass vials, plastic bags and other things in his pockets.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana arrives on scene, having driven over to the location of the fire in her silver sports car. She steps out of the car wearing a black leather jacket and black pants. Her hair ist ied back behind her head and she has a black messenger bag slung over her shoulder.

The Themysciran Princess just steps around her vehicle, her shoes impacting against the light snow as she roams her eyes over the scene in-question here, she's come to... check on things, investigate and hope to help if she's able to.5r

Stephanie Brown has posed:
A full block away from the site of the fire, a purple and black motorcycle pulls up, the color scheme matching the caped and costumed rider. Spoiler hides the bike and then surveys the area, matching what she sees with the maps and images she'd studied before coming.

"Most people ask if you'll do them a favor and it's a ride to the airport, or maybe helping move some boxes," she grumbles as she picks out a path towards the Beacon house with as much concealment as possible. "But oh no. Not Red Robin. 'Would you go investigate this fire for me?'" she says to herself as she makes her way to the house, leaving prints in the snow in the wake of her passage, broken up by jumps over fences and in one case, running along the top of a fence as she cuts through the middle of the block.

She draws near to the destination, spotting a sports car pulling up outside. Spoiler pauses to watch from concealment. But as she spots the driver, an eyebrow goes up in surprise, and she rises from the bush she was behind to trot over. "Evening Diana," she says.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
With darkness falling over the scene, Impulse, Diana and Spoiler would find themselves at the ruinous shell of the end unit of a row of brownstone townhouses.

This had been the home of Phoebe Beacon, the Outsider known as Balm. The front stoop now leads to a door that has bubbled and burned paint on it, and from there a drop to the basement. There are places where it's being held up with lumber, yellow tape set up with CRIME SCENE -- DO NOT CROSS -- GPD -- though of course, the officer guarding the place didn't seem to want to stick around in the cold, and dozed off in the patrol car.

Bart jingles, but is he as good at forensics as his grandfather?

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen is not anywhere near his grandfather and probably should ask him for advice. He did think to wear gloves, and figures he can take a ton of samples and split them between Barry and Tim. He does stop at the car pulling up, and looks over as he sees more people show up. He ponders for a moment, and then pulls his mask out and puts it on before heading over to the ladies.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is looking at the home of Phoebe, she's been a friend to Phoebe since earlier in the year when Cassie had brought the young woman to the Embassy in Manhattan, she felt a kinship with her and an responsibility to help her, however she's able to. Thus she's here, to look in to what had gone on here.

Her eyes go to Steph when the costumed Gothamite makes her appearance, and it brings up a soft and brief smile on the Princess' lips. "Spoiler." She says. "Good to see you again." They hadn't seen each other since the 'ocean adventure' with Arthur near the end of summer. "Something terrible has happened here." Diana adds as her eyes now go to the approaching Bart, her senses picking him up as he draws closer, even before he was visible.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Spoiler nods her head back to Diana. "Really nice to see you again, too," she says. Only a little of the fangirl in her bubbles up in her voice. An improvement, as if fighting an army of underwater creatures together left Spoiler feeling a little less starry-eyed fan and a little more of a hero.

She looks to the burned brownstone. "Red Robin mentioned what happened. Said I'd come take a look at it," she tells Diana. "You here for the same thing then I'm guessing?" she asks. "I'm not familiar with Balm directly, only what I've heard." She hasn't noticed Bart yet, won't, until he arrives.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
It's easy to fangirl at Wonder Woman. She's.... wonderful.

The best -- and safest -- way to access the control panel for the Beacon household's alarms was through the bulkhead and into the basement; it's where he had seen the wires messed up and a panel removed rom the wall during his search for any occupants in the building.

The two women do attract some attention, some blinds being pushed aside as nosy neighbors look through -- but decide, wisely, that it's not a bunch of kid heroes, and they're not going to interrupt and harass for autographs.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "Hello, Wonder Woman, Spoiler, you both come to investigate the fire also?" He nods to them his hat falls over his face some, and he pushes it up and towards the back of his head some. "I was hoping to figure out if there was a why the guy did it besides his craxiness he showed.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is in street clothing, but she's certainly not hiding her identity, she-- in fact --goes out of her way to basically hide nothing about herself to the public, as it is part of her persona to be the opposite of say... Batman... in that regard.

She smiles to Spoiler before she nods to Bart. "Hello, and yes. Phoebe is a friend, and I hope to find any answers that I might. I could use both of your help in this, if and should you find anything, lets... do our best?"

She proceeds to the burnt out brownstone and starts to see if she can gain entrance to the site. "What do we know about it?" Diana asks, looking back to both Bart and Spoiler. Specifically Bart, as he already indicated some insight.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Spoiler looks over the structure. "My understanding the owner was a fireman who passed a bit ago, to a fire caused by the same person. You'd think a fireman would have the place pretty well decked out with smoke detectors and everything else fire prevention. And his contract with Watchful Incorporated that monitor his alarm system suggests that was the case," she says, sharing the research she did before coming. "But the system was taken offline by someone with Charles Beacon's PIN number."

She looks back at the building. "So definitely not just some spontaneous act, was planned out."

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says Arsnel, Balm, wondergirl and myself were on a roof, and saw the glow in the distance. We all came to find out if we could help Once here Calm was on the ground trying to find things out. Wonder Girl checked from the roof, and from there found the dog, and saved him. I checked lower floors, and found where the fire was set up from someone messing with the fuse box area, and found the lady on second floor and got her to the ambulance. Arsenal saw someone running away chased him down and it seems to have been the arsonist. He commented about getting the whole family, like it was some deranged collection or something." He does not mention it was Balm's house or her mom. It might be known but he tries not to out others. The dad had passed a couple years ago I think.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Connections made - Charles Beacon was a fireman that was killed a few years ago. Phoebe had mentioned it. Her mother was likely the woman who was found by Bart on the second floor.

The ewind picks up slightly; there's a creaking in the unsteady floors above, and it begins to snow.

Diana Prince has posed:
"Be careful." Diana warns as they all enter the build. "Fires like this can weaken floorboards and you can end up... falling." She doesn't elaborate any further than that for the moment as she absords what the others had informed her of. "Phoebe had told me that her father had passed away, but, she hadn't mentioned anything that had indicated a situation that would lead to something like this. An actual murder attempt? That is on another level. But---" She sighs. "She has been attempting to build herself up as a crime fighter, which made me worry for her safety."

Diana's guess? She upset the wrong people in purusing a super hero role within a very dangerous city!

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Spoiler moves with the others to the building. The pure white snow seems determined to drown out the grime and grit of Gotham, at least on this night, and cover up the scorch marks where the fire made it to the outside of the structure.

She nods at Diana's warning, treading carefully. Stephanie takes her time, eyes scanning the rooms looking for clues. For anything out of place. While she has a ways to go to match Batgirl, or especially Batman, when it comes to forensics, under Batgirl's tutelage the last half a year, she has come a long way. Spoiler puts those skills to use now as she moves slowly, studying how the fire spread, looking for signs of forced entry. Or even just anything that seems out of place.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will move along, and makes his way down to the bottom level where the fire started, and says "Here is where I saw what had been messed with." He will describe what the room and fuse box in perfect detail, from the one time he saw it. I did not think anyone besides us knew who she was. The fact that the guy who killed her dad makes me wonder if her dad was onto something and maybe her mom or she found something left from him, and made people nervous with questions in civilian identies.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Fires, unfortunately, leave quite the mess in their wake. Burnt and unrecognizable knicknacks have fallen through to the basement, where the fire started due to a 'faulty control box', the official report had stated early today.

Even the bulkhead didn't show signs of forced entry, through there was a large amount of glass on the inside of the basement from a casement window. That was likely the point of entry for the arsonist.

THe wires from the mangled and melted control box were in bad shape, but there was a panel laying face-up on the floor not far away, where a gel-foam accellerant had been used -- Bernie's own custom mix that had been identified in several fires two years before his incarceration.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana also slips toward the basement and starts to look about. She makes her way to where the glass is on the floor, doing her best to imagine what a person busting in through the basement might look like before her gaze then goes to the control box, but down to the 'door' on the floor. she crouches down to look at it, seeing the substance on it. "Spoiler." Diana says. "You might want to take a sample from this, just in case." She says to the Bat-inclined of their group.

The Princess rises up again and continues to look around. "This ... person... seemed to know precisely where to go, precisely what they were doing. That tells me that they were familiar with this house, like they'd been in here before."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The purple-clad crimefighter follows the others down to the basement, lingering as she looks around the upstairs before continuing on down. "Does she have any particular enemies who could have put him up to it?" Spoiler asks. "Quite the coincidence, getting released from Arkham, and if you believe his claims, that someone gave him the location. The last part I can't imagine why he'd make up," she says.

A nod is given to Diana and Spoiler goes over, pulling a sample container from her utility belt, capturing some of the gel and then stowing the container away gain. She goes over to the fuse box, looking at it and seeing if she can tell anything from it as well.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen gets some as well as he might not be bat inclined, he is at least bat adjacent right now. He will tell them next where he found Phoebe's mom. He looks over to Diana "Hey you have diplomatic powers, and justice league influence, any chance you could get her mom moved to a place where she could heal her. They aint letting anyone near her, so she has not had a chance to try to heal her. Figure you could say ya have someone with healing powers or some ancient amazonian healing technique.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
That's when there's a footcrunch of snow under an inexperienced boot.

"Hello?" calls a male's voice. "Who's down there? Civvies aren't supposed to be investigating burnt-out shells in Gotham! You got business down there? I wanna know about it!"

And a face peers through the broken window, someone with a grubby, pinched sort of face, and wild hair that goes in pretty much every direction.

"Finn Addams, Gotham Gate paper. Curious that a whole buncha sidekicks showed up to the fire, now we gotta Princess and one of the Gotham crimefighters association in on it? What's the scoop, Lady Wonder?" he asks, cracking his gum.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana observes Stephanie before looking to Bart. "It is entirely within my ability to ask. But it is entirely within theirs to deny me. I would not lie to them, however, I would simply state the case for the Healing option, and let them decide on it. My ... influence, may or may not make it something they would clear, but we would have to accept their wishes, even if we urge them, mightily, to accept the option."

She's about to say more whne the 'News reporter' makes himself known. Diana had looked in the direction of the window moments before he'd spoken, she'd heard his footsteps.

"This is the home of a friend." She says. "We are here to help. That is the sum of the story, Mister Addams."

A look is given to Steph and Bart and Diana starts to walk back toward the stairs, ascending back to the main floor.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The reporter only gets a glance from Spoiler. Diana gave him more answer than she would have, preferring to stay clear of the press unless it's absolutely necessary. She moves away from the fuse box, going over to look at the broken glass though just observing it while standing there for the moment, not wishing to give anything to the reporter that he cannot deduce for himself.

The perusal doesn't last long and she heads back for the way up out of the basement, eyes still scanning the place looking for any thing else out of the ordinary. Though it seems like they may need to look elsewhere for information on who put the arsonist up to it.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen will zoom up the stairs moving so fast he is almost not seen. He keeps to places his feet should not do more damage. He will move behind the reporter ready to grab him,, should his leaning cause him to fall. "So, your a reporter, who for, what ya write about, written anything interesting, know anything about what happened here, or any other arson case, know anything about the guy who they said did it?" He will barrage the reporter with questions to one distract him if the other two want to do anything where he does not see, but also to see if the reporter will let anything he knows slip.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"A friend? How close of a friend? Is the young Beacon actually an Amazon then, and if so, why was she abandoned in this pit?" he badgers Diana -- before Bart zooms up behind him. Seems he mighta heard about some of Gotham's Finest not wanting to talk to the press (and who can blame them?), and he physically jumps as Bart comes up behind him, whipping around and striking a very movie-like karate stance -- before holding up a hand and ticking off questions.

"Finn Addams, write for the Gotham Gate, it's a new paper not like the Gazette, I know that apparently the perp was caught by a bunch a' sidekick kids including the blonde Wonder Girl an' admitted to being hte guy who started the Narrows Fire a few years back that took the kid's dad, and I found it pretty suspicious that the wife of a fireman who died 'cause of a fire wouldn't have a ridiculous amount of fire alarms anywhere." he gives a sidelong grin at th e young speedster.

"What's under your coat, little man?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Back on the main floor, Diana stops in the foyer of the burned out home and turns back to Finn. She eyes him for a moment. "Phoebe Beacon is a friend of the Themyscirans, an ally." She telsl him, leaving it at that as she looks in Bart's direction, then back to Spoiler before she starts to leave the home again. "I believe I need to speak with her, in fact, so I should be on my way." A glance is given then toward Spoiler. "Let me know if you come up with anything you believe I can help with." Diana tells the other.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Spoiler makes a mental note of the reporter, planning to look him up in the Batcomputer yet and see just what kind of journalist his articles show him to be. For now though, she just moves past him and giving a nod towards Diana and Bart. "I'll let you know what I find," she agrees.

The young woman makes it back up out of the basement, slower than Bart who zooms past! Once she's back upstairs she heads for the door. Though just to get away from Finn's sight as she goes and checks on the alarm system. Even with it having been turned off by a call, she still double checks that there aren't signs of it being tampered with otherwise.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to the reporter and says "My clothes, and me It is cold in Gotham in November." He tells the reporter. He will look at the man, and in a speed that puts Luis and the Micromachine spokesman to shame. "We came, and we saw the fire, and the woman and the dog needed saved, so we saves them, and then the bad guy who is crazy and says he killed others, and whose breath stunk like stale coffee and booze said he did it, but he seemed a bit weird, and not the good weird, but not the super bad weird either, more like middle of the line weird. I never really understand why people want to start fires, I mean I know some people want to see the world burn, but why, thats where I keep all my stuff, and if the world burned, then I would either loose all my stuff or have to find someplace, to move my stuff. You keep all your stuff here too I bet, so if you want to help us out you should call this number 555-Impulse and leave me a message and I will check into it fast, and trust me I know about fast you know what I mean?"

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The alarm system had been turned off at the source via pin; its wires are pretty mangled from the fire, but otherwise look like they might be recycleable. There doesn't seem to be much there that would indicate they were messed with on site -- so it remains to be seen how an alarm was cut adn turned off with a dead man's identification number.

    Finn just... stares at Bart.

"You know, they shouldn't have kids use speed powers, you just get weird." he snaps his gum again, and holds up a recorder.

"So you're one of the kids who decided to come out and what, roast weenies at some poor kid's house? I mean, sheesh, first her dad gets fried in a fire, then her mom comes out extra crispy. Was she hanging with you guys that night? She a friend of the super-people? Does she have any attachment to the Batman here in Gotham then?" he asks Bart, seeming pretty calm as he eyeballs all around him. Looks like he's a little suspicious.

"Or maybe she's a mutant and caused the fire, and that's why she came out unburnt? I can see it now - AMAZON ALLY TOASTS THEMYSCIRA AND HOME -- Burnt out husk as she abandons normal life to pursue the life of an Amazonian Pyro!" he chides cruelly.

Seems the Gotham Gate is *that* kind of Newspaper. "Entertainment" that gets people hurt.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana, of course, doesn't play along with the reporter, she just walks out of the ruined home and down the front walk before stepping off in tothe snow and then off the curb to her vehicle again. "Have a lovely evening, Mister Addams." She tells him in her thickly accented English. Her door is opened and she glides herself in to her vehicle, taking a moment once inside of it to shoot off a few texts. One to Cassie, and one to her last number on record for Phoebe too.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
After checking out the remains of the alarm system, Spoiler slips off into the dark, leaving the reporter behind with his theories. She knows that no amount of persuasion is going to change his mind from where it's gone. Not unless they had more information than they did that would show him to be wrong.

Still it makes her hands clench and unclench as she jogs back through the dark to her motorcycle. She hops on and fires it up. "Destination, Batcave. Time to do some sample analysis," Spoiler says to herself, patting her utility belt where the sample of the accelerant is safely stowed.

Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to the reporter agape for a moment. "You are a nasty man, and I am the weird one? A poor girl and her family have issues, and you try to blame her, and make up stories about her being connected to super heroes." He shakes his head and says "No, I don't think I want to talk to you, I think if I find anything out I will be taking that information to some other paper. I thought reporters were supposed to be telling people the truth not trying to make up bad stories about people." He will run off in a flash and then runs back "Bad Reporter Bad." And turns and runs off again.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Well..." the reporter states, seeing that everyone's abandoned the site. He spits out his gum. He pats himself down for a pack of cigarettes, and takes one out, bringing it to his lips and lighting it.

"... should throw 'em off for a bit." he states, and turns to make his way back to his car.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The text was answered within a few minutes. Phoebe was in a coffee shop across the street from the hospital, she just had to get away from the clinical antiseptic green of the waiting room.

She even asks if Diana wanted anything, figuring there was going to be a meet-up.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana replies with (Tea would be lovely.)

Her silver sports car spends the next several minutes navigating through Gotham as the Princess drives to the designated location. She's been to this side of town before, so she's far more familiar with it than where she'd just left from. Once she arrives she parks and finds her way to the coffee shop.

Striding inside, Diana is easily spotted, with heeled shoes on she stands over six feet in height, and looks to where Phoebe is, smiling softly and making her way toward her, the calm atmosphere of the coffee store is a welcome comfort to the chill of Gotham outside.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The shop is warm, and smells of vanilla, peppermint, cinnamon and tea and coffee, preparing for the deep of the holiday season.

And while Diana is recognizable in an instant, Phoebe is a little more distressed than the last time Wonder Woman saw her. She reeks of that antiseptic smell of a hospital, that clinical, plain clean, with undertones of house fire. Her hair is only slightly calmed down, and pulled into a hasty braid to be presentable.

There is a cup of tea waiting for Diana when she arrives, a rooibos blend, slightly sweet without adding any sugar.

Phoebe has a hot cocoa. The seat she's at faces the front of Gotham General, and her head is tilted back a little bit.

She does stand, however, out of curtesy, summoning up a smile to give to Diana.

"I would ask what brought you out to Gotham, but... I suspect Cassie told you."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana sits across from Phoebe, concern on her face for the young woman. "Yes." She replies to the question succinctly. She offers a hand across the table, if Phoebe should wish to take it for support. "I want to help you." The Princess says to her. "What can I do to help you?" The cup of tea is noted, but not acknowledged just yet.

"i visited the home, and did a bit of looking aruond, but, I did not find much. Are you able to tell me what you know? If it is too soon, I understand, entirely, of course."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe looks up to Diana, and the darker skinned young woman reaches over, and takes Diana's hand. Her voice is shakey as she replies:

"I... don't know." she replies gently. Her other hand rises up and Phoebe puts her palm against her own forehead. "I'm still processing. This guy, this Bernie Frank, is apparently the same arsonist who started the fire that killed my dad. He's able to break into my house, stop the alarms from going off and helped a fire that was already sparked in the walls." she replies. "My mom's in bad shape. Third degree burns on seventy percent of her body. Constant care and fluids and is being kept in a coma because of the pain. I could see her through a wall. I can't get close enough for even the aura to help, let alone --" she trails off a minute, and she bounces her leg anxiously.

"They have a social worker for me at the hospital in case I can't... in case things don't..." she stammers a moment. "They're on standby in case they need to sort out a legal guardian since I'm still under eighteen."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana holds the other's hand throughout what she says, taking it all in before flicking her eyes down toward the table, then back up and over at Phoebe's face. "Do you have the contact information on this social work?" She asks. "I would like to speak to them." But not ending there, Diana glances in the general direction of the hospital before looking back to Phoebe. "I will go to the hospital and tell them what you are capable of, I will ask them to let you get closer to your mother, I think they will listen. I will ask them to keep it a secret though, because such a thing could yield you to being... well... there are a lot of injured people." Healers have that as an issue, after all, once people know they can 'fix them' then those people will flock to them, and it can be quite a challenge.

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Ah.. yeah, I have her card..." Phoebe begins, and she reaches with her other hand into her jacket... and she feels her heart drop.

"... Diana, I don't think I have the capability to heal that much damage. She... she's in bad shape." she admits quietly, and she withdraws her hand after a moment. "It will require several sessions, and I'd have to push everything I have. I've never done anything so drastic, Diana." she admits, "Even helping Conner with poisonining wasn't as hard as this will be, and that's *if* I can get to her in five days."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana puts her hands around the cup of tea that Phoebe had gotten for her then prior to her arrival. She keeps her stare leveled on the young woman and listens closely, but she comes to dip her chin down and raise her slender dark eyebrows up. "Phoebe." Diana says, her smoky voice laced with a calming caringness. "You do not have to push yourself to a point of personal harm. Your mother would not ask that of you, you know this to be true. And you certainly do not have to do anything at all either. Your safety is most important to your mother, even in her current state." Diana has never met Phoebe's mom, but she's confident in this, because... that is the way of a mother after all.

"We do not have to speak to the hospital about it all either, if you do not believe you could make a positive impact on her recovery. Again, you tell me how I can help with all of this, and I will do my best to do so."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I... I don't know what to do, Diana." Phoebe whispers. "I tried so hard to keep my mom out of things... and somehowshe got caught up in it all anyway. If I'd been home... if maybe I'd gotten there sooner or noticed the smoke sooner..." she curls her fingers up. The cup trembles with her fingers.

"... it came to me six months after my dad died. They told me he died on the scene, but, I know he died at the hospital. Complications from the burns. I used to blame myself for his death because I couldn't do anything. Now that I can... I'm not sure if I could do enough to matter." she breathes out. "... if things go bad, do you think there's someone who could stand in for a legal guardian until she gets better?"

Diana Prince has posed:
"Of course." Diana says to the last question before pausing.

"Me." She then offers. "You can stay at the Embassy as much, and as long, as you ever wish to, Phoebe." She says, showing a smile, albeit quick.

"We need you to get in tuoch with the ... well, the locals of Gotham who deal with people like this arson." The Bats, of course. "They can help, I believe. You... need to help them, as much as you are able. Whomever this man is, he has to be found and stopped, because when your mother recovers from this-- he may very well try a heinous attack yet again. I do not want to put fear in youm, I merely want to help offer guidance on what to do from here. A busy mind, after all, helps with negative emotions."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I am ever greatful for your friendship and guidance." Phoebe responds earnestly and though her smile is small, it is real. She breathes out. "That is actually really a relief, thank you." she replies to the Princess, and then looks out over the hospital.

"That's one of the reasons why they have her in isolation. If this Bernie Frank has allies that have it out for my mom? They'll have a harder time getting in." she states quietly.

Her shoulders sag down, and she sinks a little in her seat.

"I'll try again to convince them to let me in tonight. If not, I'll ask for some sort of intervention."

And then she gets a cold realization.

"... I borrowed a book from the Embassy library, and I'm pretty sure it's gone. How deep of trouble am I in?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana nods softly to the first bits that the other says before that last question has a smile suddenly appear on the Princess' lips before she shakes her head side to side. "The books in there are all copies, so do not worry. If you can find, it is good to return it, but if not, do not worry, we can replace it."

Finally Diana raises the tea cup up to take a drink from its contents before she lowers it again. "You have my number, I want you to contact me if you need help getting addmittance to see your mother. I will gladly help with that."

Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe takes a deep breath, and breathes out.

"... you're not going to punch the doctors, are you? Because I'm pretty sure Cassie was going to punch them." she gives a wry grin.

"I'll let you know as soon as I have news. They're not admitting anyone but family at the moment."
