Wakandan Death Party
Date of Scene: 03 November 2020
Location: Asgardian Embassy
Synopsis: Hela offers an alliance with Wakanda. Naturally, there's only one thing she REALLY wants...
Cast of Characters: Hela, Shuri

Hela has posed:
Hela has had a week or so of occasionally visiting the embassy. Thor's personal house is his alone no longer! And in between running her own realm, doing some research on Midgard's realmlets.

Wakanda seems promising. A warrior people, after all, from all she learns. Maybe a tough one to deal with though, but she'll see. She sends out an invite to Shuri, Princess of Wakanda, for a visit at the Asgardian embassy with Hela, Queen of Niffleheim. The bits involving 'dead' or 'death' are missed out of the official invite, naturally. The embassy staff have been told to lay on a for two with all the Asgardian delicacies, and Hela has brought a throne of magical ice from Niffleheim which is appropriately giant sized for her. She does love her thrones, after all.

And is waiting for the embassy staff to admit the Princess.

Shuri has posed:
When she got the invite, Shuri's interest was piqued almost immediately. She was not the type to see gods as anything other than just another species. All the same, she understood the importance and wasn't going to miss a chance to see some other tech first hand.

"Hello, I am here to see the Queen of Niffleheim." Shuri states to the ones who greet her. She smiles as she nods and gestures for the woman that is with her to move. off with the other not royalty as she is directed to the area where Hela is. She is wearing her typical garb that mixes traditional Wakandan clothes with modern designs.

Hela has posed:
Hela pretty much is another species - just with an unusual job. She's standing as Shuri is brought in, her antlers smoothed down into long black hair, so more goddess of goths than of the dead, and wearing her usual black suit.

As Shuri comes in, she smiles, and walks a couple of steps closer, though she doesn't get TOO close, and she actually does a brief curtsey, as she would at Odin's court, on the rare occasions she visits it. "Princess. I am the Queen of Niffleheim... though I was hoping for something less formal, as probably suits us both. I understand Midgardians enjoy their state functions even more than Asgardians do. Still.".

She indicates the table covered with goodies - probably mostly good Asgardian things like mead and bacon, fish and fruits, though. "I know little of this realm compared to my relatives, but I hope there will be something here which pleases you. And we can talk and learn from each other.".

Shuri has posed:
A blink at the sight of Hela and Shuri grins, "Wow, you are tall." She chuckles, "Much more than expected." She then steps up to the table and hmms, "It all looks good." She then turns her eyes back to Hela and considers her more.

"As you know, I am Shuri of Wakanda. I do not care about state functions as much as my brother but I do know the dance." She chuckles and idly taps some beads on her wrist and a visor. goes over eyes even as she touches a chair for her.

Hela has posed:
Hela bids Shuri sit, and lingers like a good host until she does, by her extra big chair. Though she's not so enormous the table has to be extra big too, or that really would be inconvenient - they can both at least sit opposite each other!

"My mother was a Jotunheim giant." Hela explains. "My lineage on my paternal side is a matter of dispute, but Odin Allfather considers me his grand daughter. And you presumably know the dance better than I, few visit me in Helheim where I hold court, and if they do, it's never for a feast.".

Shuri has posed:
"I am aware. I do my research though I am sure there are plenty of half truths to the stories and exaggerations." She idly scans things as she sits, looking for energies and the like that often indicate magic.

"I do find it interesting that you wished to see me." She nods her head, "Speak g to the princess before the king is something not uncommon." She chuckles and nods her head, "Are you seeking in roads with my brother or perhaps you wish to propose?" She teases and chuckles even as she collects a bit of food from various plates.

Hela has posed:
Hela herself is magical. Probably very magical! As is her clothes. And her icy chair, as she doesn't want it to melt. But not much else in here is, beyond whatever background having the odd Asgardian servant in here might cause. There's nothing mystical about the food, anyway.

"Half truths and exaggerrations." she echoes, amused. Typical Midgardians. "The king is a busy man as I understand. And in my experience kings are much less amenable than princesses are, so I suppose you're right.". Hela for her part does put on a show of eating, but she really doesn't eat that much, especially given you might think she'd have a giant appetite after all.

"I wished to learn about your homeland. It seems quite fascinating. Lots of half truths and exaggerations. And it seems about as accessible as Niffleheim is.".

Shuri has posed:
"We have reasons to be closed off from the world." She idly turns off the visor and smiles, "One might say we are as magical as others from, for example, your realm." She smiles and idly takes a bite of food, seeming pleased, "You must understand, our people are far more than what the world thinks." She nods and then shrugs.

"Just as I assume you wish for others to know you are more than you seem." She grins and takes another bite.

Hela has posed:
"Clearly we have a great deal in common. So my assumptions of that, at least, seem correct.". Hela smiles, the room gets a bit colder at her pleasure. "Amora warned me of Midgard and it's... extreme cynicism.".

She gets a little more guarded at the comment about what she wants to be known as, but she does somewhat reluctantly nod. "I am no Goddess of Beauty." she admits, briefly envying Amora's way with words. Hela deals with draugr mostly, and they can't even give her backtalk if they wanted to. "I would not be the first choice for Odin to send on a diplomatic task. But yes, I do. With Wakanda in particular, perhaps.".

Disguising a delay by nibbling on a berry, she eventually says, "So, what do you know of me, then? Perhaps more than your average Midgardian?" she wonders, a trace defensively. That whole WW2 thing totally wasn't her fault.

Shuri has posed:
"Only what legends and some research relays." Shuri nods and shrugs even as she, herself casually eats, "That and what I just learned by scanning you." She nods and chuckles as she eats. "I tend to be a curious type."

Hela has posed:
"Look all you wish. Unlike some other members of my extended family I don't have anything to hide.". Hela spreads her arms, and she finally comes over to her main point.

"You know my uncle Thor, I assume? I could be a great ally to your nation like him. You are warriors. And you are not unfamiliar with death, I assume. So I could help look after you all, the living and the dead.".

Shuri has posed:
A hmm and she nods, "Ah, I see." She chuckles and nods her head, "Do, you seek to what? Be the one who looks after our dead? Takes them to your world or something upon death?" She tilts her head even as she chews on her food, "I'd be a fool to believe life after death is a myth given what I have seen but I can say I can't speak for my people in that regard. Also, we have a pantheon we follow." She smirks, "You might have noticed a cat based theme our people go with?"

Hela has posed:
"And the living as well." Hela protests. But it's the dead she really wants - she's not that manipulative, unfortunately for her perhaps. "I have stood apart from Midgard for so long as to be all but forgotten.".

She nods regarding the cat theme though, saying, "All Midgardian realms have their own... protectors. I know much about that. Nothing will be forced on my part." she assures. "But perhaps some would prefer Helheim if given the choice... when they hear of me assisting Wakanda's rulers.".

She leans back in her throne of ice, face unreadable.

Shuri has posed:
A smile and Shuri let's out an ah before she nods her head, "I am curious as to what kind of help you might offer us?" She tilts her head as she looks at the woman, "I mean, protecting is rather vague and while I do not doubt your power, I can say we are a fairly self-sufficient people."

Hela has posed:
"Thor protects Midgard, I will protect you." Hela replies. "Yes, I know you have many protectors already, and stand apart from the world. But everybody needs allies... even me, even more remote from the affairs of this entire realm." she suggests.

"As for precisely what, your King is known as a warrior. He even fights with my uncle, I know. I am mightier than even Thor." she assures, perhaps a bit daringly.

"As I do not plan to force any mortals in any manner, I wish to provide an example, even, so would relish the opportunity to fight alongside your King.".

Shuri has posed:
A smirk and she chuckles, "I am sure my brother does seem like the fiercest warrior in Wakanda but I will have to speak with him." She nods her head as she then turns her gaze over toward the food, "Grabbing some." She nods her head.

"He will have to be the final decider but I can speak to him about your proposal." Shuri bites into some bacon.

Hela has posed:
Well, that went better than she expected. Hela smiles, watching Shuri eat happily. "I know you Midgardians do not take such things seriously as a rule. But you seem to. I would be as pleased to have your people at my side... as I hope they would be to have Death at theirs.". Maybe that doesn't sound encouraging, but she hopes it does!

She nods at how the King will decide, and gets up from her chair-throne. "Oh. I would ask you ensure word does not reach any of my family. I would hate for you to become embroiled in family politics after all. Many of us are nothing more than silver tongued vipers." she freely admits.

Shuri has posed:
A chuckle and Shuri smirks as she considers, "I do not think I will deliver the message in that fashion." She nods her head as she stands up as well, "But I will deliver it." She grins and shrugs, "This has been enlightening though and I will keep our conversation from your family."

Hela has posed:
Hela seems happy enough, settling back down again after pacing around the room, and watching Shuri eat quietly for a moment. "Obviously I know your King may disapprove, which is perfectly within his right, but I hope we will be allies.".

She's quite happy to watch Shuri eat in silence, not exactly being the soul of the party, but after a while, she does offer, "If there is anything you wish to ask me, I am happy to answer as best I can.".

Shuri has posed:
A grin and Shuri stands up, "Not now but perhaps later." She nods her head, "I am going to head back, but we will be in touch." She nods her head as she smiles, "I appreciate you having me here."
