Bank to the Future
Date of Scene: 07 November 2020
Location: Third Gotham Bank and Trust
Synopsis: Spiral, April and Harley make their way back to 2020 once more, via a bank. It makes sense to Spiral at least.
Cast of Characters: Spiral, Harley Quinn, April O'Neil

Spiral has posed:
Spiral has had plenty of time in Gotham's impressive bank to find what she assumes are all the bombs, teleporting all of them harmlessly... somewhere. Low Earth orbit, the middle of the Pacific, somewhere they can't do any damage. The only damage seems to be to the time stream itself, the bank being another temporal locus.

When she's finally done, she has a little looksee on the telepathic worm. "All done! Where are you all? I will come get you now. If you can disentangle yourself from... whatever you are doing.".

Harley Quinn has posed:
Harley is ..., rather entangled. Because indeed they have gone over to Penguin's ice lounge, on through the back room and started to mess it all up. Sending a message! So she is in the middle of smashing down a rather pretencious statue of Penguin with her hammer when the worm speaks up on her head.

"I dunno! This is bein' sorta intense!" She explains through the link. There's a bit of a manic little touch to her thoughts as she sends them over. Which may perhaps be a defense mechanism to cope with being close to Joker for so long...

"I am at the ice lounge!" a pause as shots are heard flying by. "Eeeee! Goons just appeared! Gonna try and ...." she slinks off to another room. "Okay, I am alone now." then as she is aware of Spiral following people that speak her name aloud she does it.

"Spiral."

April O'Neil has posed:
Younger Harley and April are inside of a Big Belly Burger, picking up food to take back to 'Feebs' apartment to watch movies like Air Bud, and The Crow. They'd been laughing and chatting for awhile now, but when Spiral reached out via that fancy little comm-thing, April made the excuse to go to the bathroom.

Inside the Bathroom, she starts to make a big mess on the floor, splashing sink water down and then dumping a bunch of paper towels and toilet paper in to the water.

"Okay, I'm ready." April tells Spiral. "Do that... thing you do so I can join back up?"

April covers the comm up and screams really loudly, so when Younger Harley comes in here she'll find Feebs... melted away into a pile of paper towels and toilet paper on the floor of a Big Belly Burger. RIP Feebs.

Spiral has posed:
Spiral is chilling at the back of the movie studio, taking a moment to sip from a cup of coffee that tastes like crude oil mixed with cigarette ash. Mojo is busily building his temple nearby, and the Forces of Good are marshalling somewhere in LA, she's sure. And even villainous sidekicks need a break between panes. Then she hears her name, on the other side of the country. What's going on over there?

Meanwhile, the more important Spiral in Gotham City, also hears it, but unlike the other one (fortunately) acts on it, dancing through space to appear next to Harley briefly. Peering at the violence going on outside the window, she shakes her head. "I hope this all dies down, it doesn't seem to have been very subtle." she chides, before teleporting out again. Well, whatever damage has been done now hasn't it.

Current Harley is dumped outside the bank, as she doesn't want her going anywhere near the old one. Then she goes to collect April - just as she's screaming. "What the?" she asks, looking around and drawing swords. But hey, she's in a deserted bathroom. "Ugh. Lets go..." she mutters, before it gets un-deserted. And explanations can happen later. She dances. They vanish.

So all three now are outside the bank. "So... all the bombs are gone. The time stream is probably wrecked anyway, but we can live in hope..". She sighs, and looks around with wide glowing eyes. Great Scott! "There is a locus inside the bank where we can return to the future. I suppose this is where the damage mostly happened before our intervention. There are some guards there though, and I will have to dance for a minute or so.". Which is basically forever if someone wants to shoot you.

Harley Quinn has posed:
FINALLY. Ordeal is over... The clownette doesn't seem to be in the best of shapes, eyes wide, more pale than usual, back resting against a wall. She has her arms wrapped about her hammer, muttering quietly to herself while she waits for them to gather up again.. She still has the balloon Joker gave her, blinking and looking at it a moment before she tosses it to the ground...

When they teleport back she is stomping down on it with a foot. Maybe she is hoping that was Joker under her boot.

"Ah, yoh awhe back!" She says, stopping on her stomping and regarding both. She approaches for a hug to the other two, "Hope I wasn't too impossible too handle ..." a bit of a nervous smile. But then again she already seems nervous enough .., for other reasons.

April O'Neil has posed:
April only let out a scream for a few seconds, because well, she wasn't really sure what her plan was with this either. When Spiral arriving to retrieve her, she's more than willing to go. And once they DO go, she sees 'her Harley' and goes to return the offered hug. "I may have given you a really weird experience. I apologize if it was ... traumatic. At least at the end. The rest went really well and was actually fun." April says with a smile showing up before she tilts her head. "How did yours go?" Do they have time for this? Who's to say! Probably Spiral.

She points at Spiral in fact. "Sometime you're gonna have to explain the dancing thing to me."

April's blue eyed gaze starts to take in their surroundings. "What are we doing now? We're not... robbing this place are we?" Sure just say it outloud, April.

Spiral has posed:
Spiral looks a bit out of it herself, and she probably had the easiest job of all compared to the others. At least, given she can teleport things quite easily. She lets herself end up in a group hug mostly from merely being unresisting.

"Explain the dancing? It's a form of ritual magic is all. And no, no, we're not robbing it. I got lots of money anyway." she reminds. Though she smirks at Harley, and adds playfully, "Unless you want to for old times sake I suppose.", teasingly.

"There's no rush I suppose, if you want to get your breath back... beyond that it will be harder during the day, and I suppose the Joker may return. Destiny is weird like that. Sometimes.". She shrugs. The multiverse isn't sane after all, as she already said.

Her eyes eventually fix on the poor balloon gift. It was only filled with glitter... not happy gas.

Harley Quinn has posed:
Yay! Group hug! Harley makes sure that it counts, using her STRENGTH to bring the two in close. Because really, she needs some friends after what just happened. Her shoulders seem to relax a little though at least she still appears to be riding on the adrenaline of what happened while she was with the Joker, not too much time to think on it. And having to defend Spiral from shooty-shooty guards? Sounds good!

"Well, I ain't bullet proof but ..., I got yoh back!" then a look to April. A twisted little smile as her first question is if they are robbing it. "That would be sweetly ironic but maybe next time! We need a codename foh yoh though... The yellow hornet?" but not much time for chitchat now! Codenames shall come later!

"But no, let's not rob the joint. Imagine the Jokah then heard I was heah and robbed the bank he was intendin' ta rob? That would be hell..." Of course that she is unaware on how much hell it will be already..

She adjusts her hammer over a shoulder, the bells on her cap jingling. "They will assume we awhe robbin' it though..."

April O'Neil has posed:
April gives another look to the bank, then she glances down to the balloon when Spiral is seen looking at it. She frowns at it vaguely before her eyes bounce back up to Harley. "I'm not even punch proof, admittedly." She says, her fingertips being stuffed into the front pockets of her blue jeans. She grins at her friend's choice of nicknames for her. "Bumblebee?" She suggests. "My mother used to call me her Sunny Rose. She named the Antique shop after me, cause'a that." She has a sincere smile on her visage after saying that before she glances around their surroundings. "We're probably gonna start to draw some attention if we just stand around out here though..."

Spiral has posed:
"Okay Bumblebee.", Spiral smirks. "That sounds harmless and friendly. And yellow. Um... you're right.". She looks around, wrapping her arms around herself. "Lets get back to the future as soon as possible, the longer we stay here the more chance we'll end up stuck here."

"I am not sufficiently bulletproof to just stand there and be shot." she smirks. "And I will be distracted by the time dance, so it will fall to you two. They could be distracted somehow perhaps. A minute is not long if they are searching elsewhere. Or be killed. Though I think they lead inconsquential lives so it doesn't matter if they are left alive.". Harsh!

Harley Quinn has posed:
"Bumblebee!" Yep, seems like April's codename. Approved by Spiral and Harley. The clownette positively beams at her friend, giving her a thumbs up. "Next step. A catchphrase.. Sting like a bee, bumble like a ...." she stops there, rubbing at the back of her neck, "Well, WIP.." and at least she seems a bit less nervous now that she is with her friends and not with Joker. And robbing banks? That's familiar territory for Harley! It will feel like she is right at home.

Yet the suggestion to take their lives is met with a vehement shake of her head, "No killin' if we can avoid it. Ya said we should keep things as weah the bettah we can!" she points, accusingly, at Spiral. Accusingly!

"Do we wanna start a ruckus on the back door o' the bank or..?" she looks at the front door. ".. Maybe just keep 'em off ya?"

April O'Neil has posed:
April is just putting one hand on her hip and the other hanging at her side as she stares at them both. harley gets a grin at the Bumblebee acceptance. "I got a sticker of one on my bike, you never noticed it?" She asks. "The yello wand black bike that I ride to work every day?" Truth is, April has her eyes on a car at a lot not that far from her home, which she plans to buy sometime soon... things have just been kinda, crazy? Normal, lets be honest.

April's eyes go to Spiral, then back over to the bank. "I feel like this is quickly getting out of my element, I'm gonna be supremely honest with both of ya. Of the three of us, I'm the one with the most mundane skillset. I can type 120 words per minute, so if that'll create a 'ruckuss' then ... well, yay?"

Spiral has posed:
"As they were was them getting happy gassed." Spiral points out. "The Joker doesn't rob banks nicely after all. But you can keep them alive if you want!". She shrugs, supremely uninterested. "They are only extras. We are the protagonists. Power trio!". Distracted by tropes, she points around. "Nice." she says, pointing to April. "Mean." she adds, pointing to herself. "And In Between.". Pointing at Harley, with an evil smirk.

"All you need to do is get them out of the way somehow. For a minute.". She shrugs with her many arms. "Maybe Harley can do it. Banks are her specialty after all.".

Harley Quinn has posed:
"Awww, you have such an adorable smile..." Harley says of Spiral's EVIL smirk. Maybe she just doesn't see it. But then again she very quickly adopted the villainess as a friend. Some things are omitted, or maybe she just chooses not to see them. Just like she did with the Joker!

A look at April follows, "Ya know, what's with yoh obsession with the yellow?" it's a good question! "Not that I mind borrowin' all yoh yellow clothes mind ya. We awhe o' a size afterall!"

"But okay, let's do this.." She lets out a sigh, making her way to the front of the bank and trying it with a kick.. Of course it's locked so it doesn't budge ...

"Damn it!" she eyes her hammer, then the door. Is she going to bash it down? Nah. Because #reformed! So she starts to work on the lock instead. Hairpin! (she always keeps one for a rainy day, or a trip to Arkham). When the door opens she opens her arms. "Voila!"

And then she starts striding in there. "If ya wanna sorta disguise us with an illusion now would be a good time!" she suggests back to Spiral.

April O'Neil has posed:
April smirks back at Spiral before she starts to follow them. Her eyes glance up toward the night time Gotham sky, eyeing two blimps that are just floating in circles over the city with spotlights underneath them, shining through the foggy misty darkness. "Ya know... this City creeps the ever living fu--" A cat jumaps off of a garbage can lid, and does a cliche cat scream as it runs down an alleyway and April jumps a little.

Trying to recover from that, she shifts her eyes back to Harley, then glances down at herself. "I'm not wearing any yellow right now!" She exclaims. "My yellow jacket is for when I'm on my bike, so cars see me. And uh, well, it's still my favorite color, we all have favorite colors. Yours is red!" She's not /sure/ of that, but she's /pretty/ sure.

She tries to focus on what they're doing though, and starts to nervous-dance a bit. "I'm not so sure about this whole 'April O'Neil Bank Robber' that I'm being some-how turned in to... Are we sure this isn't just us being filthy criminals?"

Spiral has posed:
Spiral twirls, and then the three of them look like some of the Joker's Clown Gang henchwomen. Apparently Mr J can get framed as well. And then laughs at April. "No... but now you do! Ha!". She shakes her head though at the question. "I suppose criminal trespass maybe, but at least we're not destroying that.". And she points upwards, to the big clock on the facing of the gothic bank's facing.

"Just hide, then, and stay relatively close." she offers - though Harley literally busting in does kinda force Spiral to trot atfer her, drawing her swords - just in case someone shoots at her, in truth, but presumably it look sa bit scarier.

The bank inside is a huge open hall, a walkway for a top level where the guards wander on patrol with a good view over the hall. But down on the ground floor there are various little areas closed off with wooden panels for a bit of privacy. Not much privacy from above though as at best they just have a metal grate over the top.

Harley Quinn has posed:
"I will never tell!" Harley says. About the red color. But she's pretty much an open book so that guess. Yea..., very accurate. The Harlequin suit may be telling too! "And don't worry, this place has shit ass cameras, at least it did if I remembah right." but then they are being changed into new people.

"Woah, Jennifer!" That's April's new henchwoman aspect. She remembers she didn't like Jennifer too much so there's a bit of a turn of her nose. "Hmph..!" time to go in though! Not that her voice can be really disguised..

"Awright, gents and gentlewomen! This AIN'T a stickup!" she strides in like she owned the place.

"So everyone just calm down while we do a little dance. Capisce?" See? She learned this on Arkham Rehab. Talk to them, explain she doesn't mean no harm. It works.

She looks about the rather large hall, waiting. "Betta make it quick." she whispers back to Spiral.

April O'Neil has posed:
Spiral gets a frown from April. "Hide, right." She says as she watches the other two women stride on in to the bank once they got the door open. "This seems a little easy..." The reporter mutters, tentatively going in after them.

She's quick to raise her hands up and pop the collar on her motorcycle jacket, as high as she can get it to go up to, which is just against her jawline. She reaches her hands up to untie her ponytail and then resutles her dark auburn hair around until it's framing her face nice and good, almost like a hood, making her look a bit haphazard, smolder-y too!

April's hands then go to the strap of her weapons bag still slung over her torso, holding on to the leather strap as the venture onward. "I'm not gonna look up, I'm not gonna look up..." Looking up is how your face always get snapped by cameras!

Spiral has posed:
The four guards all turn - and they see Harley Quinn and two of Joker's clown gang marching through the front door. Naturally at first they are terrified - surely every bank guards worst nightmare just walked in after all - and a few seconds pass, as Spiral takes up station more or less in the middle of the hall, boldly walking past Harley to start dancing.

But then the guards realise there is only three of them. "Shit, sound the alarm!" one calls out, and the guard furthest away sprints towards the far end of the hall, intent on summoning cops and/or Batman and co. The others draw guns, two aiming at Harley, because infamy, and one aimed at Spiral because she's the closest and has swords and is being weird. "Put your hands up and don't move!" the chief calls out, voice trembling a bit.

They are professionals but he finds it highly unlikely that he's the one who will manage to arrest the infamous Harley Quinn when nobody else seems to be able to do it! At least April is barely heeded with what else is going on.

Harley Quinn has posed:
"Chill, guards people!" Harley calls out, shaking her head and those bells jingling. "And clean up yoh ears. I said, NOT robbin' it. But if yoh force us..." The harlequin lifts her shoulders, looking around and up to the galleries above. " ... we got people ready with a lil gas, courtesy of Mistah J, ready ta spray it about if ya try ta stop us." a bit of threaten. And she can deliver! Getting that malicious little smile up, the manic eyes.

"So back off." She does a rather effortless cartwheel to one side, casually away from both April and Spiral so they aren't being shot at in case these guys are trigger happy. Though she is ready to start jumping and ducking if they do too. No martyrs here!

She doesn't seem to care too much that the alarm gets sounded. She really HOPES no hero can get here in one minute!

April O'Neil has posed:
Loud whispers. "I'm not goooonna look, I'm not gonna looook." April sings to herself, before the guards spot them and instantly go in to Super Guard Mode! Guns out too! This-- of course --makes April jump and release a quick scream! Her hands shoot up in the air and she drops down to her knees!

Did they tell her to drop down to her knees! Who knows, she just does it out of reflex cause thats what they tell you to do in movies, isn't it? Look. She's scared, don't be judgy!

April's hands are up, behind her head and her eyes are now going up to Harley doing some pretty serious parkour moves to run away. "Ohmygod, Ohmygod, I'm gonna get punched by Baaatmaaan." She looks around in the dark. Is he already here? He's got teleporting powers, they say!

Spiral has posed:
Guards don't generally want to shoot people in cold blood. And Harley, being Mr J's girlfriend, is pretty terrifying - while the other two don't seem to be acting like your typical bank robber, one pretty much instantly surrendering and the other one dancing around on the spot, ballet style. They wait a bit, covering the three with their guns, until guard #4 comes running back.

"Okay. Okay. Nobody do anything crazy, and maybe we'll all come out of this alive." the guy doing the talkin says after licking his lips. Maybe he'll survive the night after all, he's thinking - though he's looking around to see if the Joker is going to pop out of nowhere or something.

When craziness happens, it's not in the form the guards expect - a vortex of magical energy on Spiral which quickly fills the hall. A few of the guards fire a few shots at her, but only one is on target and she parries it with a sword, and then the guards are taking cover in the farthest corner.

The vortex swiftly engulfs Harley and April as Spiral raises up her arms, spinning as fast as she can like a top...

... And then, with a flash, they are all deposited back in April's wrecked apartment.

Harley Quinn has posed:
No shooting. Nice guards. Good guards! Harley beams a smile at them, continuing to twirl one way or another. Just buying time really. A little glance is given over to the surrendering April and she tsks. "Ruinin' our bankrobbin' rep!" she whispers. But well, she can sort of understand too. The first bank robbery is always the hardest one.. She knows... She peeks at a discarded newspaper on the corner. A small frown as she spots the date on it. Uh, peculiar...

But her mind quickly strays away from it. "Yea, no goin' crazy over heah! Let's all stay quiet and ..." poof!

They are teleported back to April's apartment! Well!

"That ... went well? Maybe?" She isn't sure, flopping down on the ground on her knees and letting out a uff of relief.

April O'Neil has posed:
In truth, April's eyes are clamped shut, her face is doing that scruncy-upped thing someone does when they want to will themselves in to not being in a very unlikeable situation in life. She can hear everything that's being said aroun her though as her hands are behind her head and her wavy long hair is just barley concealing her identity.

Then she feels a literal shift in the air pressure, and a change in the floor beneath her knees shifting from hard marble to soft carpet fibers... She can also smell her apartment, the scented candles she had burning all day, in pumpkin spice fall flavoring!

April's eyes snap open and she looks around. "Yes!" She says as she stands back up, bounces back to her feet really!

"We're back!" She looks around for the other two. "Did we win? Did we do the thing to the stuff?"

Spiral has posed:
Spiral runs around April's apartment for a few hectic seconds. Running over to the TV, to place all six hands on it, and then put an ear against it, as if listening. Then she runs to the wall at the opposite end of the apartment, and does likewise. "Hmm. The locus is fading.". She sighs, and turns, putting her back against the wall, for once not moving at all and looking kinda tense, as if waiting for something to happen.

It doesn't, and she relaxes. "This seems to be your original timeline. Any damage must have been limited.".

Maybe Harley remembers one morning a particularly angry Joker ranting about her playing a cruel joke on him about robbing a bank he intended to rob, when she didn't. And maybe April remembers one of Gotham's many conspiracy theories about supervillains and the day the Joker's gang supposedly broke into a bank just for no other reason than to terrify the guards. But aside from that, the timestream is mostly unchanged.

Finally Spiral notices the poor apartment, and even though she's already pulled out a wodge of notes from a leg pocket, she pulls out another pile of money, and walks over to pass it to April. "Sorry. But it was more necessary than Elizabeth wrecking MY lair.".

Harley Quinn has posed:
With all the running around the apartment by Spiral it gives Harley time to catch her breath, getting up to her feet and stretching. She sighs loudly, pressure abating and now she getting to really think on what happened. Going back to Gotham. Talking with the Joker... Ugh... She shudders visibly and wraps her arms about herself, sniffing at the air and the familiar scent. "Home sweet home.." she says quietly.

There is a bittersweet smile on the harlequin's lips, looking at each in turn. "Teamwork won the day in the end .." she murmurs quietly. A glance at the TV.

"I hope at least the TV ain't wrecked ... We got baby yoda ta watch.." priorities! But the bittersweet smile turns to a nervous one, clearly she more affected by all that happened than she is telling.

"I need a drink.."

April O'Neil has posed:
April pulls the bag of weapons off of her shoulders and then sets them down beside the sofa. She eyes Spiral as the woman frantically runs around to 'check on things' in a way that is both mysterious, and confusing, to the young reporter. "I mean, that's cool." April says, before she sees the offered money and tentatively reaches up to accept it with a hesitation and concern, but a desire to be kind to the offered gesture.

"Th-thanks!" She says, her eyes going around the Apartment. April exhales. "I really should considering sellin' this place and finding something nicer anyway." But, the nostalgia is real for her and this place...

Harley's mention of a 'drink' gets April to reset and refocus. "Yep." She says, stuffing the money into a jacket pocket. "Lets get our drink on, and then our baby Yoda on." She states, marching toward the kitchen where the liquor is stored.

Spiral has posed:
Spiral unlike Harley seems considerably more placid than she was when she arrived. Beatific, even. Job done, and done well. She pats the TV for a moment, where the wraith came through. "Job well done." she declares, to the whole power trio. There's a bit of hesitation when drinks are mentioned.

But she doubts April has any Jagermeister, and besides, the time dancer of death is fundamentally a solitary sort, and she's done quite a lot of of team stuff lately. "We will meet again. Under better circumstances." she promises. "Maybe tomorrow, even.". And she lifts up her arms, doing another twirl, and abruptly vanishing as quickly as she came.

Turning up suddenly, carving a swathe of chaos through time and April's apartment, and then gone again.
