Date of Scene: 09 November 2020
Location: Athletics: Triskelion
Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: Jessica Drew, Phil Coulson

Jessica Drew has posed:
Perhaps its psychological though Jessica rather doubts it. Spider senses, fully honed spider smelling, sight and hearing, have their pros and cons. She has learned to not overreact in loud settings like city streets or in a firefight, but smell, so closely associated with deep memories and evocative of emotion is harder to come to terms with.

The mat shushes under the weight of the karate routine she has chosen to work on today - crouch, punch, whirl and kick. When she whirls, her nose wrinkles and she loses concentration, stopping the kata in mid-flight. As high tech as the Triskelion's gym is, it does not smell like roses or flowers of any kind. A shrug. She drops back into the kata flow, the white of her gi a blur as she performs a right-left punch.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Even with everything else he needs to handle, he needs to stay in shape as well. Besides, Coulson usually enjoys visiting the gym. Dressed in his gym clothing, he's currently at a treadmill, jogging along as a warmup routine. While doing his jogging, he's watching Jessica do her routine, nodding a bit as he watches.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Around her others stretch or move through various martial arts routines. Jessica ignores them though when she begins the mirror of her half-moon stance, it brings her face to face with Coulson. Her stance doesn't change, only one eyebrow raises in greeting before she bellows a kiai and punches her imaginary adversary.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson continues with his combination of jogging and watching the routine, offering a brief nod in return to that raised eyebrow. He keeps silent for now, not wanting to disturb anything. Starting to increase his jogging speed a little.

Jessica Drew has posed:
Moving through the points of the compass, Jessica overcomes her adversaries, laying them out in various states of imaginary unconsciousness and stupor around her. Face to face with Coulson a final alto bellow finishes the kata. She snaps into a bow, her face the severe blank of a karateka. A breath later, she smiles faintly at the man and walks off the mat to a bench where she grabs a towel and takes a long swig of water.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson smiles as he sees the ending parts of the routine. "Quite nicely done," he offers, before finally slowing down the treadmill and stepping off it. "You look like you have mastered that skill quite well."

Jessica Drew has posed:
A shrug. "Most of the field agents are very well versed in the martial arts." Jessica's eyes grow distant, she pauses an instant in toweling her neck then she brings her attention back to Coulson. "I started young and trained everyday for a few years." She doesn't say aloud what anyone who read her file would know - she had been subject to HYDRA training.

Phil Coulson has posed:
"True," Coulson replies to the part about most field agents being very well versed in the martial arts, before he nods a bit slowly as he hears that last part, maybe more the part that wasn't said. "That practice makes perfect," he offers, before he offers a smile for a few moments. "No matter where it comes from. What matters is how you use it, right?"

Jessica Drew has posed:
Eyes dropped, Jessica nods faintly, lips pursed into a wry expression. "Yes," she acknowledges his point, reluctantly at first, but then nods more emphatically. "You're right, Agent Coulson. It's why I'm here and not where I trained. Do you practice any martial arts, sir?"

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson chuckles. "I have my moments from time to time," he replies, a bit lightly, before he nods a little as he hears the question. "Like you said, most field agents are very well versed in thbe martial arts," he replies. "And after all, first and foremost, a field agent is what I have been the longest," he replies.

Jessica Drew has posed:
"We should go a few rounds sometime. Some of the agents, like yourself, can keep up with me. I need it. Agent May is one of them, Natasha and a few others."

The list makes her cheerful. She takes another swig of water and considers the empty treadmill next to Coulson's. After posing the water back on the bench, she mounts the machine, punches in a program, beginning at a brisk walk that segues into a jog.

Phil Coulson has posed:
"That sounds like a good idea," Coulson replies, with a smile. "Always good to test oneself against more people." He nods a bit at the list of people, before he starts up his treadmill again, starting it up at a slow pace at first, to speed it up a bit after a little while.
