So Much For Speaking Softly...
Date of Scene: 21 November 2020
Location: Hell's Kitchen
Synopsis: Siobhan and Spider-Man meet and delve into...a family matter.
Cast of Characters: Peter Parker, Siobhan Smythe

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man got the word that a particular lady wanted to meet and talk. Usually, there no big issue, as long as he's not doing class or work, or fighting bad guys.

However, it is Miss Siobhan Smythe, the lady who pulled an Exorcist in the Coffee Bean, so he's guessing this isn't a meeting where someone wants his autograph. (He signs with the other hand as Spider-Man, just to be safe.)

He lands on the roof of the tenement building, then sent a text from the Spider-Man "phone number."

"Hello, Miss Smythe. I'm in the area. Want me to pick up some pizza?>

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Almost as if in queue, Siobhan walks out from a bar down below and looks up toward the tenement building. She doesn't quite seem to zero in on Spider-Man but there's a sense that she might know where he is. She types in a response of <"No, but thank you all the same.>

She then looks to the left toward a certain alleyway that was the site of some recent murders and starts walking that direction.

Peter Parker has posed:
There is that subtle tingle. Not an urgent threat, just...something unknown, yet powerful. Like being near a live power line. Not dangerous...
...with the proper precautions.
Spider-Man spots the alleyway, then gives a thumbs-up before swinging towards the building overlooking the alley, giving a once-around before descending on a webline, upside-down, until his head is level with Siobhan's.
You'd think all the blood would rush to his head and make him dizzy, but he sounds clear-headed.

"Hello, Miss Smythe. My Stalker said you were looking for me, so he set this up. Uhm, nice to meet you."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A blink comes from Siobhan when she sees and then hears Spider-Man. There's an arched eyebrow from her before she nods to him, "Ye can just call me Siobhan." She nods her head, "And good to meet ya. Just wish it were for better reasons." She continues past him toward the area still showing signs of police involvement and work.

"Ye know what happened here?" She asks, looking at him even as she walks up on the spot where the four men died.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man tilts his head slightly. "Accessing...okay. They were being pursued by something." He walks along the length of the alley, looking down but also at the walls. "Hit by a sonic attack. The walls and the street made for a natural echo chamber, but the state of the bodies..."
He paused, frowning.
"Ready for a rank amateur's assessment of something beyond his wheelhouse? Something DRAINED them. They were aged decades in seconds."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"Yeah, I am aware." She states simply enough and nods her head, "Dey were killed by sometin' horrible. I was just checking what ye knew." Siobhan turns to him and frowns, "Dey ran afoul of a Banshee." She sucks in a breath and shakes her head.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey turns to look at her. "...Yeah. Yeah, that would fit. Except I thought they only came into play for those fated to die. Unless this one is being more...what's the word? Proactive?"

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"Very proactive." Siobhan agrees and then looks at him, "I asked ye here because you seem like a good person trying to do good." She nods her head, "So ye need to know what is out dere and ye need to avoid it." She nods her head, "It is gaining strengt' and it will strike out against anyone in its way."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man nods, then takes a slow breath. "I heard about the scene in the coffee shop. Was that woman doing the Pazuzu impression talking about this thing?"

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"I believe so and I believe it was a message for me." She looks at Spider-Man, "Ye don't know what she's capable of. She is already strong but she'll get stronger and more terrifying by da day. I am workin' on it but don't get yourself killed." She nods her head, "Just... let me know if ye see anytin' and I'll come deal wit it. It's my mess."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man shook his head. "If this banshee is killing people, then it's OUR mess. So I'm in, whatever it takes." He looks to Siobhan. "What's the connection to you? There may be something that can help."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A frown and Siobhan idly shifts her eyes from normal to glowing. Not glowing like a slight light or as if she had laser eyes. No, her eyes are wholly gone, replaced with a light that might make one thing of that light at the end of the tunnel. The light of death. Her gaze becoming baleful and the area around her eyes going almost skeletal till she blinks it away.

"It's my mot'er." She nods her head and sucks in a breath, "Who is after me." She nods her head, "For her own reasons."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man steps back. He has to, his Spider-Sense just went from Tingle to Vibrate, right at the nape of his neck.
Phrasing? Phrasing.
He takes a deep breath, then calms down. "...OKAY. Bit of a surprise, but it answers a few nagging questions." He frowns. "Well, this isn't my first rodeo with magic. Used to date someone who has a 12,000-year-old Hyborian barbarienne co-habitating in her body."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
Watching him, she twitches a little at his reaction. She sucks in her own breathe and let's it out slowly, "Sorry about dat but yeah, I am not sure if it is da same. Still, good to know you aren't completely wit'out point o' reference." She nods her head and then shrugs, "I don't like lettin' it all out. It can be overwhelming." She nods her head.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey nods thoughtfully. "I can't imagine what it's like. I suppose the next best thing to do is a lot of research on banshees. And...we shuld sort out what she wants. I am guessing she traveled here from somewhere else? This kind of MO hasn't popped up elsewhere that I can find, yet."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"I can't be sure." A look down, "When I was younger, she died and became somethin' horrible." She seems slightly disturbed. She frowns and sighs, "She wanted me back or somet'in'." She shakes her head, "Tings went bad and now we're here." She looks to Spider-Man, "I don't know her final intent but I know tings will get worse."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey sighs. "Then we'd better get to work on it, shouldn't we? If you want, I can give you access to the Spider-Comm system. If you just want to trade information, I can advise the phone app. If you want to go full-court press...I'll see about getting you the full rig. Contact-lens augmented-reality system, full comms, and read access to the private database."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"I believe ye have my phone number." She nods her head, "Dat'll be enough for now." She then let's out a breathe, "Just keep your eyes open and don't do somet'in' stupid." She looks down, "She has way more experience den I do and I am pretty scary already."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man leans closer. "And ruin a solid running streak of punching above my weight class? Perish the thought. I will remain in contact with you at the very least until this situation is dealt with. I just hope we can resolve it before too many lives are lost. It would help to know her methodology, why she is picking the people she goes after."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"Weakness." She states, "Until she is strong enough, she needs weak targets she can feed on." She nods, "At least, based on... experience." She clears her throat.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man rubs his masked face. "...All right. Right now, we need to figure out a way to track her. or detect her, in any case...it's not like LinkedIn has a 'magic practitioners' site."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"I am workin' on dat." She nods her head as she looks at her phone, "I have some friends." She nods her head.

Peter Parker has posed:
Spidey grins. "Well...not you got one more, don't ya? If you can solve it without me, I won't feel put out...but if you need me, call."

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
A small smile and she nods, "Good ta know." Siobhan nods before she sucks in a breath and then nods her head, "Still, if ya hear somet'in, let me know. I appreciate it."

Peter Parker has posed:
Spider-Man nods. "Anything I know, you will know. Promise."

He nods to Siobhan, then lifts an arm and fires a webline upward.
In the next moment, he has launched himself up and disappears from sight past the ledge of the building.
