Sam comes limping home.
Date of Scene: 23 November 2020
Location: Garage
Synopsis: Sam and Betsy talk cars, life, and catch up.
Cast of Characters: Samuel Guthrie, Betsy Braddock

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie had class this evening and all went pretty well till he started home, about half way home his car gave out on him. He called about a wrecker, and it was going to take a few hours. So Sam decided to take maters into his own hands. There are some back roads home and that is what Sam took. Door to his car open stirring with one hand as he blastting powers the car home. He will come up the drive pretty fast, and can be cutting his power to slide into the drivers seat to his the breaks stopping the car once it is about half way into the garage, luckily not hitting anything.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
That sound is something she is familiar with. Sam's power isn't subtle when he's using it. At least, not that one. She moves toward the garage door to look out then steps back quickly as a car comes rolling in with Sam in the driver's seat. Once it stops, she moves back to close the door against the chill of outside, pushing a button so the door rolls back down.

"Welcome home, Samuel," she says with a true smile. "It is good to see you. Having auto troubles?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie climbs out of the car and is in a police cadet uniform "Hey Betsy, yea I it died on me on the way home and would not restart. A bit worried it might be somethign bad, but did not want to leave it on the side of the road. " He runs a hand through his hair. "How you doing?"

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Well. Still trying to find the balance. I find myself living in town more than here due to the club," Betsy admits as she moves over toward the car he just brought in. "Pop the bonnet?"

She moves to the front of the vehicle, to try and open the hood in hopes of helping figure out what might have gone wrong. "I miss the Crimson Dawn powers at times. It would allow for more freedom of movement at least."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles and does pop the hood and comes around to the front to look with her "Well movement aint been that hard for me, but coming in hot and fast at places that don't know I am a mutant could be difficult. Alexis and I are looking to find a place of our own, but trying to find some place nearby. Found the perect place but it is like 2 million dollars.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
Belts are a good place to start so she looks them over. It's often a simple problem, though it could lead to complications if one did break and damage other parts in the process. "Two million? That sounds about right for this area. Why don't you see if the Professor will allow for another cabin out near the lake? That would give you the advantage of location without emptying your savings and putting you in debt for ages."

She glanced over. "I didn't realize you and this girl were already serious. But you were always one to know what you liked without wasting months weighing the situation."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "Well we have been together for a bit now, it is one of the things we have considered. I am just trying to make sure we have a place she will like. I know she has been in high and low places when it comes to homes, but I want to get her what she deserves." He will motion towards one of the belts and sure enough it broke, and looks like took the wheel off the alternator with it.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"Whatever makes you both happy. Is she wanting the high end home? Or just to be with you?" Betsy asks simply. She pulls out the old belt, walking over to toss it into the bin nearby.

"You wouldn't happen to have the parts needed to fix this? I know you were attached to this older model for some reason so perhaps you have them stocked away knowing this likely would happen?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie chuckles a bit and says "Attached to it cause it was cheap." He smiles "Will have to hit a junk yard tomorrow and see what I can find." He moves to run his hand through his hair, stopping himself just short to not get greasy hair. "I think she would be happy with anything, as long as we are together. And to be honest down the road am sure she will get us a bigger place, when she has access to her funds, just don't want to have anyone thing I am just sponging off her.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"No one would think that of you, Samuel," Betsy says as she finds a rag nearby. "At least, no one who knows you. That has never been your way. If anything, you are the opposite extreme. Not taking assistance when you likely should. It is who you are. Not a negative trait."

She goes over to the orange dispenser, a few pumps of Gojo into her hands then rubbing them together to get the grease off. After she wipes them clean on the rag before tossing one over to Sam to use as well.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will work on cleaning his hands and says "Ah have thought about getting a place in Bushwick, as hoping to get put on the force there when I finish the training, but would like someplace close to here, to help out where I can with school stuff and such,

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"That is ever the difficulty. Having to try to find that balance." Betsy considered a moment. "Are you teaching at the school now?" She herself was not teaching. Simply a resident at Xavier's, though a part of the X-Men. "And tell me more of this Alexis. You say she has money but cannot access it?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "I am helping out mostly just teaching some on flying to the new kids who need it, and yea. She was a big name in classical music, mom and dad and grandma all in it, her grandma runs a school in England. Problem is her dad is very Anti mutant. She hid it ran away from home, but she is working on trying to overcome what he has done and being herself again."

Betsy Braddock has posed:
"In England you say? Classical music?" Betsy is paying closer attention now, trying to think back in her memory but finding nothing with the name Alexis that she recalls. "London or other areas? Since most people from the United States think everyone from England lives in London," she adds with a bit of a smirk. It's one of those things. Like people who are from New York, everyone thinks they mean the City of as opposed to the rest of the state. Or everyone in Georgia is from Atlanta.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her and says "The school is St. Cecilia's Conservitory for the Arts, she is on good terms with her grandma who runs the school, and her Italian family as well, it is just her dad who is the problem. Hell for a while he claimed Ah kidnapped her, but was more a assisted leaving.

Betsy Braddock has posed:
That earns a slow blink from Betsy as she waits for the punchline. No, he isn't kidding. "He actually thought you kidnapped her? I do presume she's an adult and can do whatever she chooses. Obviously this is a long tale I will need to hear more of to understand fully. Perhaps sometime over a drink. Or two."

Betsy turns back toward her car. "Sadly, I was on my way out when you arrived. I have a few meetings in the morning so must head back to the big city. It's a bit of a drive." She makes a face as she opens the door to her car. "I would like to meet her though. It would be a pleasure to know the person who stole your heart."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "I will see what we can do maybe we can come by the club sometime. I am sure she would enjoy it. And yea she is legal, he just wanted to blame the evil mutant who took his sweet innocent little girl." He will offer her a smile "Have a good one and see you soon."
