Date of Scene: 02 December 2020
Location: A back alley, somewhere in Gotham.
Synopsis: Having left the Talons, Strix goes dumpster diving for food. Luckily, Misfit is there to save the day!
Cast of Characters: Strix, Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe

Strix has posed:
It's late in the evening in Gotham, people have long gone home from work, and most people who have been out to dinner have already left. This means that you can find quite a bit of fresh food that has been recently discarded out behind a, let's say for example, Italian restaurant. This is where Strix is. She's poking around for something to eat.

Usually this is something that the Court of Owls would take care of, but since they have faded back into hiding, Strix had decided to strike out on her own, instead of being put back into cryosleep. She's still dressed in her Talon outfit, which would make for an interesting contrast of somebody so dangerous looking dumpster diving for food.

It doesn't take long for her to find something. She pulls out a half eaten calzone and holds it aloft triumphantly. Now to find a nice quiet place to eat.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie is... OUT... on Patrol!

She is honestly trying to do the roof top leaping thing, leaping from building to building and all that without cheating. She has seen on the internet that it is basically parkour right so how hard can this be.

It turns out it is in fact very hard.

She leaps from one roof towards another and misses the jump "Aieee" is heard somewhere above on the night air and then ... a relieved sigh on the roof far above the Italian joint's back alley area.

A glance up would just reveal pinkish purple smoke fading into the night on the cold winter breeze. Then a cowled head pokes over the side and peers down at Strix. Well that is definitely some sort of costume. The question is now down to whether or not the lady is a bad guy or a good guy. They seem to be triumphantly holding a calzone aloft. That really doesn't help provide clarity though.

"Hey.. are you a bad guy?"

Strix has posed:
Strix nearly leaps out of her skin, having been surprised by Misfit's sudden appearance above her. She nearly loses the calzone, but manages to catch it last minute before it hits the ground, all the while with her other hand pulling out one of her swords to point warily at the newcomer.

There's a moment of silence as she looks up at the hero, sword pointing a warning at her, much like the warning rattle of a rattlesnake. She takes a moment to ponder the question, 'is she a bad guy?' She supposes, yes, perhaps she is, so she nods at the girl on the roof.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Oh. The lady has swords. That seems suspicious.

Mostly because to her understanding swords are pretty lethal usually and most of the Not Bad Guys in Gotham don't use lethal weapons.

She has studied a lot about Gotham Vigilantees.

"Oh. Well. I mean I suppose that means I need to stop you then. Though it feels a bit rude interrupting your ..." squint. "Calzone." this is causing Charlie to question the general justice of fighting bad guys if they have to do dumpster diving to get dinner. It isn't like the lady robbed the italian restaraunt.

"So uh... why are you dumpster diving if you are bad guy?" unsure tone. Charlie has been pretty homeless until very recently herself. She does sort of figure a bad guy would just rob someone though not dumpster dive.

Strix has posed:
Since it doesn't look like she's about to be attacked by another masked vigilante, she cautiously sheathes her sword. Misfit's question causes a cock of the head, as Strix tries to figure out how to explain.

Eventually some comes up with this. She taps her throat and vigorously shakes her head. Then, she points to the calzone, and makes a circular rubbing motion at where her stomach is. Either she means that the calzone is delicious, or that she's hungry.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"Oh... you are like Orphan." not being hungry but the pantomining. "I mean yeah hungry makes sense though it doesn't seem like a bad person would dumpster dive though." you know vs. all the things bad people do. "I have had do that before and I am a good person...."

Charlie franktically thinks about what to do with this bad guy situation "Hold on!"

The cowled teenager pulls back, vanishes, and well. To be honest there is like maybe two minutes that go by leaving Strix in the allley alone.

Once that time is up from behind Strix the chaos vigilante clears her throat "So I got you a Batburger and fries, it's hot and wasn't in a dumpster?"

The whole .. appearance there may be very disturbing especially to a trained assassin. She should not have been able to sneak up probably like that. There is a faint swirl of that pinkish smoke by her feet.

Strix has posed:
Strix nearly jumps out of her skin /again/. The sudden appearance of Misfit behind her takes her by surprise and her reflexes almost immediately has the sword out and going for the vigilante's throat before she's able to stop herself from decapitating her. Sadly, the calzone didn't fair that well this time, having ended up on the ground.

Strix stands there for a moment, with the sword mere millimeters away from cutting skin, before she notices that Misfit has brought her food. Almost sheepishly, she sheathes the sword and, cautiously like a stray dog accepting a handout, accepts the handout.

She nods her head in thanks, and turns to sit in a clean(ish) part of the alleyway, crosslegged, with the bag in her lap. She pulls her hood off revealing a head that's mostly wrapped in gauze. What skin can be seen is brown, and heavily scarred, and her curly dark brown hair pokes out haphazardly.

A look of almost childlike joy alights her eyes as she looks in the bag and pulls out the fries and eats one, clearly savoring the taste before eating another. This is much, much better than the gruel that the Court uses to keep their Talons fed.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
This close it is very clear that Misfit is wearing some sort of K-Mart special version of Batgirl's costume. Or as Batwoman thinks of it, the Spirit Halloween Flying Rodent knock off version. It does not look legit.

Well that utility belt looks absolutely real.

Other than that though no.

Charlie blinks a little behind her crappy domino mask, eyes a bit bigger at the whole sword near her throat. She reaches up and taps the blade lightly with her fingertip. "Ooh.. okay that looks super sharp." and she does not at all protest the sword being put away.

Charlie hands over the takeout bag, and soda. Then she walks over and hops up to sit on the edge of the dumpster as she watches the other young woman eating. Also seeming to be so very happy about takeout. Huh.

"So my name is Misfit. I know you can't talk so just eat and enjoy yourself." she smiles. "You do have sharp swords but you don't seem bad really..."

Strix has posed:
Strix ponders this between fries (which she's eating one at a time to draw out the pleasure of eating them.) How does she explain?

She points to herself, then runs a thumb across her throat, after which she mimes being dead. She kills people, it's as simple as that. Then she shrugs, going back to the fries, like killing people just isn't a big deal.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
"Oh.. well uh... okay that is kind of bad actually." she watches you go back to the fries. "You should try the burger. Trust me. Before it gets cold."

Yup food tips to the asssassin. That is where we have gotten too tongiht.

"Maybe I should ask Batgirl what to do... or Oracle." she muses as she watches you. "I probably should. I mean... it doesn't seem like we should fight but you also need to stop killing people."

Strix has posed:
Strix takes Misfit's suggestion to heart, and unwraps the burger, digging into it. She closes her eyes in delight, and if she could she'd probably be making "mmmm" sounds.

The mention of Batgirl clouds her somewhat joyous mood somewhat, her eyebrows furrowing and her mouth turning into a frown. This was one of the targets that the Court wanted to see eliminated from Gotham. She looks rather uncertain at this point.

She just sighs in conclusion and shrugs again. What else can she do?

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
I mean so far she hasn't actually called anyone or done anything. She is just feeding the assassin right. She blink at the reaction though.

"Don't like Batgirl... but Batgirl is awesome. Also my hero." which explains the knockoff outfit. Not the belt though.

"Well. Do you think you can stop being a bad guy and killing people? I am sure if you do that we can all work something out?"

Strix has posed:
Strix nearly inhales the burger, so she can eat it while it's still warm, as Misfit suggested before going back to the fries. She lifts the soda up to her nose, sniffing curiously at it, before taking a sip of it. Her eyes go wide as saucers, the bubbliness and the sweetness of it all catching her by surprise, as this isn't something she's ever experienced before.

She smiles at the vigilante when it's mentioned that Batgirl is her hero. She reaches out and takes the cheap fabric of Misfit's costume in one clawed hand, being careful not to rip it, and nods agreeing.

But to the question of can she stop killing? She freezes, looking uncertain. The words she wants is more than what she can pantomime, so she turns to the concrete wall behind her and scratches out a message with one sharp talon.

WILL KILL
IF HAVE TO

The letters are inelegant, big and blocky, like a child's. With that said, she turns back to her fries and watches for Misfit's reaction.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Huh. Killer Assassin with a bad ass outfit. Has never seemed to have a burger, fries, and soda. That is super interesting to Charlie. She makes mental notes that she is mostly likely to remember later when she tries to tell the story to Batgirl.

Probably.

She doesn't seem worried about having her costume messed up either, she just smiles back brightly there. If not for the utility belt it would be even odds the girl was just crazy like hal f the people who dress up in Gotham and the whole Batgirl thing might be all in her head. Instead maybe 75 / 25 as the odds go she may not be full of crap. Still a chance she is crazy.

Squints a bit to read the scratches "Well I mean I suppose in self defense, though it is much better to maim them and leave them alive for the cops or something. Have you ever seen a bat-a-rang cut into someone..." she whistles, and yeah has a bat-a-rang in her hand. It looks real. "These are not dull.. lemme tell you."R
"But still can be non-lethal."

Okay maybe a little nuts.

Strix has posed:
Strix finishes off the fries with a long pull of the soda, and nods when Misfit pulls out the bat-a-rang. She points to it, then taps various parts of her body. Shoulder. Hip. Stomach. She's very familiar with bat-a-rangs.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie oohs and tucks the batarang back, she understood that. "Well uh.. that isn't good." she notes and then pops up to her feet.

"Okay well.. I am letting you off tonight with a warning and some food I think." she looks mostly sure of this. "What is your name, and I need you to promise to try to not kill people if I let you go okay?"

Strix has posed:
Strix turns to the wall again and scratches out another message:

MARY

She considers the request for a while before nodding, and crossing her heart with an 'x'. She promises to do her best.

Charlotte Gage-Radcliffe has posed:
Charlie beams and gives Strix a big smile and a thumbs up. "Awesome Mary. If you want I can get you another burger tomorrow night but I should really get back on Patrol and then check in with Oracle okay?"

This is all declared from the top of her dumpster. Hero pose. "You don't do crime okay." a nod from the teenager. Then she wrecks it by grinning, waving, and there is a slash of pink and purple smoke..... but .. she didn't seem to toss a smoke pellet down for it.

Regardless she is absolutely gone when the smoke clears in only a matter of moments.

The hell?
