ZZGU: Here's the Plan...
Date of Scene: 02 December 2020
Location: Operations: Triskelion
Synopsis: Heroes, SHIELD, DEO, oh My! all meet to discuss ZZGU and how it can be defeated. Now it is time to put the plan in to action...
Cast of Characters: Kara Danvers, Daisy Johnson, Jemma Simmons, Jacqueline Falsworth, Wally West, Hela, Siobhan Smythe

Kara Danvers has posed:
This is not one of those quiet small meetings. There are DEO agents mingling with SHIELD agents. SHIELD and DEO being tight lipped about all other operations outside of this one of course. The meeting room is filling up with people, a trickle of interested and invited parties making their way in and taking seats.

Supergirl is in a quiet discussion with another DEO agent in the far corner of the room. Her fingers keep touching the plethora of lanyards hanging from her golden belt. One is her DEO identification. Another is the SHIELD visitor lanyard. Another is a ribbon for the Justice League and finally, the last is a ribbon for the Titans. SHIELD has all the danglies and shinies for visiting people it seems.

Her red cape rests quietly against her back as she nods a few times in response to the soft words of the DEO agent. Then she starts to notice people have gathered and looks out at the group. She pushes aside her trepidations and concerns. This is a big moment, a pivotal turning of the tide. She has to channel her cousin and do the speech thing good. The DEO agent she was talking to leaves her and sits down in the front row.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
DEO and SHIELD! A match made in heaven! Or maybe instead it's over life-threatening events... ZZGU is one of those and with Daisy having been present in various missions related to the tentacular menace so here she is, dressed in black and blue of SHIELD, high boots, hair held up in a ponytail and out of her face. It's mostly business if only she wasn't typing away on her phone.

> Some really big DEO names here today. Where you at? Arrived already?

The message is sent to Jemma, checking on her biochemist friend of course even as she makes way closer to Supergirl and offering her a comforting smile. "Big day today, mmm?" perhaps noting something on the other woman. "But by working together I know we will be getting to the bottom of this."

It's not as if she doesn't have her own fears, but being with SHIELD for a few years now means one gets good in prioritizing the mission, and stashing those away for later.

Jemma Simmons has posed:
There is certainly a SHIELD presence. And...it isn't the typical public facing SHIELD agents, though Daisy is already present with her texting. And...the answer is given shortly.

> Already in the room. Finishing up research and manufacturing.

Research and manufacturing? Seems that a certain Doctor Simmons has been holding out on info to her friend. But, Jemma is not lying. Should Daisy look, she would find her biochemist friend off in a corner, as far away from the meeting without being completely obvious, with her tablet out and entering some last minute commands for R&D to put the finishing touches on whatever it is she has been working on. It isn't something announced yet...but the fact that Jemma is at the meeting and not in the lab is a comforting sign. She must have a handle on whatever she has to bring to the equation.

Even if it is another one of those last-minute saves.

Jacqueline Falsworth has posed:
At the Triskelion for a meeting with SHIELD brass on behalf of MI-13, Spitfire finds herself encouraged to stick her nose into this meeting about strange interdimensional threats from... wherever they're coming from this time. It's not like she hasn't had her fair share of experience with Lovecraftian like entities from the Great Beyond. Or, okay, at least one or two experiences. Regardless, at the end of the day, it's mostly professional courtesy between the various agencies, and a precaution on behalf of London, in case there's spillover, that sees her saunter in and take up a spot near the back of the room. Because there so often is spillover.

Thus, the lanyard around her neck is a visitor badge, her MI-13 badge clipped to it on the contemporary speedsuit she wears. No longer the bright, golden onsie of yesteryear, with its pointed, birdlike domino mask, her uniform these days is a dark, muted red more in the oxblood range, rather than the brighter crimson favoured by other speedsters. Cowl, goggles, (both pulled back) and a leather jacket (undone) over top almost give her the look of an old fashioned ace pilot than anything else. But it works for her.

She takes a moment to look around the room, memorizing faces and roles as she lowers herself quietly into a suitable chair.

Wally West has posed:
Wally loves being invited to things.

So when Supergirl gives him a call? There is an object moving for the Triskelion pushing speeds of about Mach 6. Somehow, he's still late ? What? A rocket needs fuel, so a speedster needs food.

Wally FINALLY arrives in a red and blue blur, blue electricity around him for the briefest of moments as he has a cheeseburger in hand.

"HEY ladies and gents. What'd I miss?" How did he get here without clearance? Phasing through walls is super handy.

Hela has posed:
The time and the place are known, as one of the Midgardians (kinda wrong on that assumption, but nobody's told her otherwise) was nice enough to tell her. She's got her foot in the door! or... raiders in the bailey, or whatever Asgardians say.

She appears walking through a wall this time, a bit cautiously, as a pre-appearance scrying reveals it's quite crowded, headdress combed down into black hair before her appearance so she can be all nice. Though she still looks like the goddess of the goths.

And ambles over to Supergirl, looking at everybody in here curiously. Lots of dark suits, reminds her of how it was here 70 years ago when she was doing things. The important people stand out amidst the bland, at least.

"Hail." she says to Supergirl, who did invite her here after all. "I stand ready to assist Midgard against this realm-eater. Or ... discuss it.".

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
And then another appears. She doesn't know who is here and she almost didn't come. She is still shaken and enraged, to a degree. She now knows far more about herself and a part of her wants Kara Zor-El's head (and for good reason). Just not this one's. The Banshee, though, doesn't care. All the same, she is here in a quick burst of mist.

Glowing eyes look around the room as skeletal face offers little in the way of emotion. Just the quiet terror and strength of the Silver Banshee daring anyone try to lanyard her.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl turns to Agent Johnson and smiles warmly, "Hello. Yes it is. Seeing these two agencies work together - well, it's been interesting. Though, we are all better when we cooperate." It's a line she's had to sell to DEO higher ups multiple times leading up to today. Sometimes it takes time to change hearts and minds. "However, I'm going to be asking something of people here that is unreasonable. May be they'll say no. I hope they say yes."

Her eyes look over toward Agent Simmons and she gives her a small nod, a smile. She hopes it conveys encouragement, but without words to back it up ... she doesn't want to interrupt her. It's clear she's deep in action over there.

But what would be a meeting of super friends without a bit of drama. When Wally appears out of no where.. and then Hela. Several Agents of SHIELD draw weapons and an alarm is sounded. Kara grimaces a touch and rushes to the microphone and taps on it, "Please don't be alarmed. This is the Flash, Silver Banshee, and Hela. I invited them," she says motions with arms lowering to the agents, "Lower your weapons. We're all friends here."

The agents look to their supervisors and eventually one of them senior enough gives the nod. The alarm is cancelled and the ICERs are put back in their holsters. A pair of agents round the corner of the doors a few moments later - good response time - carrying weird looking weapons. They can't be good and probably designed to deal with super powered intruders. The senior agent whispers to them and they nod and leave the way they came.

Kara smiles to Hela and says, "Thank you for coming. Every one, please take a seat. We have a lot to discuss as a group."

Supergirl stands before the group and says, "Hi, I'm Supergirl. Most of you here are aware that a creature from another version of Earth is attempting to invade our home. Thanks to intelligence gathered by the Silver Banshee," she says motioning to Siobhan, "We now understand what we're up against and how the other Earth lost. For those of you who didn't know this before - yes, the multiverse is real and other Earths do exist. But.. now a presentation by a man who has caused great harm to our world."

She presses play and a hologram appears. With that she steps back.

A weary looking man with a scraggly beard stands before the group. He's wearing black and has a Kryptonian symbol on his chest. Though the appearance is similar enough that some can recognise the criminal Dru-Zod, Kryptonian General who attacked Earth with Mongol and the Warzoon. This version of him looks utterly defeated. Not to mention, he is missing his right arm entirely.

"My name is Dru-Zod. I am Kryptonian. I leave this message to those who come after us, for we have failed and we do not wish the same fate to befall you..."

He talks for a while as images and news video clips show. The story is straight forward enough. In the early 80s the Space Shuttle Enterprise delivered a satellite to orbit and brought back with it an alien creature. This creature some how controlled peoples minds and built at first a cult, then an army.. then it itself grew and began to consume the world in its madness.

The slide with Zhed'Zhud'Ger'Uth show's a big black slug like creature covered in tentacles, which are covered in beaks, and in each beak is a large eye. It is a huge monstrosity, as big as a small city.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Zod explains, "One by one Earths armies and heroes fought the creature and each fell to it. Its mind powers infected them all. We in Argo City, the last city of Krypton, heard a distress signal from Earth from our lost son - Kal El. He was known on Earth as Superman. We brought Argo City to Earth in hopes that we could help."

"But even with our abilities on your planet, we were unable to defeat it. We cut it, burnt it, scored it, attempted to lift it, freeze it. Earth scientists had even set off nuclear weapons. It absorbed, or simply burnt away and replaced any damage. This ooze that surrounds and makes up its body is grown since it came to Earth as a small creature. This world eater."

"We realised too late that the only way to defeat it would be to kill its slime to access its inner core. Throwing it in to the sun would do nothing, but in the cold of space - it hibernates. Now there are too few of us to do this. Whoever you are, I hope you have the capacity to confront it with a biological attack and then remove it from this planet before it reaches full maturity and sends its spores in to space."

Kara turns off the hologram. There is a touch of dismay on her face. Confronted with the notion that Dru-Zod could somehow be an ally hurts her to her core. "ZZGU has two primary modes of control. Mr. Stark has created glasses that shield our minds from its mind control and Agent Simmons has been working on the second, the parasite like mind control stuff in its slime. Agent Simmons, if you would please share what you've learned and made?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Oh gosh..., the Asgardian Goth again ... That has Daisy cast a look at her, but expected. She did see her a few times now offering her aid in this so ..., "This is for you.." a badge. Shiny. Of a guest in SHIELD. Yes, Daisy has a few for those who may just come through other means. It's like a shiny medal of participation. So Hela gets one. "Glad you could join us." a faint smile offered.

Wally and his burger get a faint chuckle out of the SHIELD agent. Seems like they are gathering quite the group here. But he ALSO gets a shiny badge. SHIELD protocol! Noone escapes the clutches of bureaucracy.. "Just in time actually." this about the man being on time.

She afterwards casts a curious look towards the Mi-13 agent present. That one wasn't an usual presence. A nod is given, in recognition, but no words just yet.

Siobhan doesn't get a badge though, because no she won't be getting close to the banshee and so she steps back to go find a place closer to where she finds Jemma, near the fringes of the room of course. "What are you up to?" eyes slightly narrowed, curious about what her friend is finishing up on her tablet.

At that point Supergirl steps forward to talk so she folds her arms and turns to listen, frowning when she sees the image that appears on the hologram. But at that last part from Kara she casts a look towards Jemma. "Ah, so that's what you have been up to."

Wally West has posed:
All fun and games until a Death Goddess shows up. Hela looks like the Black Flash for a second to Wally, who jumps in surprise. "WHOA BL- oh, okay. Geez, you scared the hel out of me." He seems to not be so easily shocked at Death Goddesses. The world is crazy, don't ask questions and it won't ask you.

Of course, he looks at the suddenly armed SHIELD agents and he lifts his hands. "I brought a cheeseburger? Hah?" He says in please. Sure, he could dodge these bullets but...then other people might get shot. All the same, the alarm is cancelled and SHIELD agents lower icers, which is great. "Hey Super-gal." Wally gives a two-fingered salute to the Girl of Steel before Daisy walks up to him. He gasps. "I've always wanted one of these! So cool. Can I kepe it or do I have to give it back?" He asks of her. But, all the same, he takes his seat.

"Oh man." Wally says when he sees the scary visage of Zod.

"So...we have to fight a black slug monster that has mind control powers like you see in horror movies? Geez, eat your heart out Stephen King. Or is it HP lovecraft? Whatever, black slug monster."

Hela has posed:
Hela doesn't sit in a chair - they look a bit small for seven feet of Hela. And besides, unless it's a throne, preferably made out of ice with a flight of steps leading up to it, she feels a bit slighted. She forces a thin smile at Daisy, a bit guarded when she gets close enough to feel the cold around Hela, and reaches out to carefully and delicately take the token. "Thank you, Midgardian. But I already have a symbol." she says, not putting the token on. Wally gets a raised eyebrow. "My Hel is not for you at present." she agrees, with a smile.

She's in the banshee club when it comes to lanyards.

As for the realm eater. It sounds like they already have a plan, so she walks over to the chairs, stays standing at one end, and then listens quietly, as it sounds like the Midgardians have a plan, and a well researched one at that.

Jacqueline Falsworth has posed:
When the other speedster comes zipping in, not to mention the other two strangers, Spitfire rises to her feet -- taking care to move at a normal speed as she does. Her thought is that someone may need to collect weapons before the shooting starts, but also that she's a guest here and probably *shouldn't* be the one to make waves. Even if she is the only one here that she knows -- beyond the reputations of The Flash and Supergirl -- can move fast enough to do so. However, she's also been an agent long enough to know that, sometimes, that sort of direct response isn't the wisest in a room that really requires interagency cooperation. So the Brit can afford to wait to see what happens, knowing she's fast enough to be the last resort. Fortunately, she is able to resume her seat less than a few heartbeats later.

Thus, she settles back to watch the hologram's presentation. Her brows knit as it continues and her head cants. That... just doesn't sound good. When they start talking about possible solutions, however, she's all ears. If nothing else, she needs to know what the thing can do and what precautions they have to stop it...

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"Actually, HP Lovecraft inspired Stephen King." The Visage of the silver Banshee is suddenly beside Wally. Did she teleport? It is unclear but she is silent as, well, death. Eitherx way she looks ahead and states, "So, it is bot'." She nods softly before looking then to Hela briefly. She hmms softly at the woman. Her voive tinged with a willow echo and Irish Brogue.

"They also 'ave deir own Supergirl and ye should avoid her if possible." Banshee adds before looking then to the people around, "I have experienced dis ting first hand. If ye have no mental protections, wear da glasses."

Jemma Simmons has posed:
Daisy is flashed a smile as Jemma detaches herself from the corner. The research scientist moves to the front of the room and offers a nod to Supergirl, before she turns to the gathering. "After thorough examination of infected subjects, it has been determined that the mental control via contact of the mucus is actually an advanced form of toxoplasmosis. Upon contact, parasites introduced via contact travel along the bloodstream to the cerebral cortex, at which time the parasitical invasion takes over cognitive thought, essentially overwriting the base personality with one of the creature's choosing. In this case, these parasites impart knowledge on how to introduce the alien entity into this dimension."

With a press of a button, Jemma activates the hard light display in the meeting room, to which a molecule diagram floats into view. "However, because this is a parasite, it is possible to combat the infection as well as innoculate from potential infection. Using the commonly known treatment of the drug Pyrimethamine for treatment of toxoplasmosis and isolating in the parasite makeup the specific DNA strands that make up this entity, I was able to synthesize a compound that acts in a very similar manner. When taken with a sulfonamide, much like current applications, this derivative will cease the production of certain amino acids essential in the formation of the alien DNA. Essentially, this will break down the parasite at the genetic level."

A beat, then Jemma continues onward. "Think of this as an antimalarial, for it is essentially the same thing. Introduction of the pyrimethamine and sulfonamide derivatives will, for all intents and purposes, cure whoever is infected and prevent further infections. There are some side effects, mostly gastrointestinal discomfort, but relatively minor, given the testing I have conducted up to this point."

And...the final bit. "I have manufactured enough to have cured the infected that we have in custody here at SHIELD. We also have the ability to make as much of this as we need to...and the versatility of the drug allows us to make this in a capsule form, as well as potential an aerosol. Though, with the potential side effects, I strongly recommend the capsule form as being more controlled."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara can see (and hear) the people whispering to their chosen friends they are sitting next to about the information provided. The ramifications of what Siobhan brought back from the other version of Earth has hit Kara to her core. She had so little time to appreciate it before Raven whisked her away in to outer space again.

"Thank you Jemma," Kara says and smiles once more. "Some of you might be wondering.. if an entire planet like ours was conquered by this thing, how could we possible win? what's so different about us than them?"

She folds her arms in front of her and says, "Put simply, it's time. We have been given forewarning about this creature and its intentions and Earth and its scientists," she says and motions to Jemma again, "have advanced considerably in the last forty years. The space shuttle Enterprise never went on any missions in our version of reality. In theirs, it did. In theirs I never came to Earth instead I stayed with my family in Argo City. But here I did."

Kara lifts her chin a little and looks to the people in the room. "I am here to ask you for your help. We must defend our home, that is true - but we can also help the other side. They have been at war with this thing for forty years and by all accounts have lost everything including their sanity."

Kara motions to the hard light presentation Jemma gave, "I am asking all those that can flight and move at super speed to help me distribute this cure in to the atmosphere, the water, to the people across this other Earth, so that they may be free of its compulsions. The added bonus? if General Zod is to be believed it will eat away at ZZGU and we can finally fight it and send it back in to space where it came from."

She nods affirmatively to the group, "If we save their world - we save our world. This is a very dangerous mission, which is why I understand many of you may say no. But I beg you, please, help me save them."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
There is a look of relief when Jemma speaks about already having some of the cure done. Specially for those in their custody. It would be a good start. A grin is offered over to Jemma, along with a thumbs up. Always proud of her scientist friend!

"After all we have witnessed, and what we heard here today I don't think there'd be any other answer to offer but my help. And you can certainly count on it." the young SHIELD agent offers with a determined nod of her head.

Jacqueline Falsworth has posed:
Spitfire acknowledges Agent Johnson's nod with a smile and tilt of her own head. She listens quietly to Agent Simmons, cataloguing details and considering the ramifications of what the scientist is talking about. Given all the technical jargon, it's rather impressive she can follow most of it. She's a businesswoman, really, not a scientist.

But as she listens to Supergirl everything becomes much clearer. Yes. That explains entirely why Spitfire found herself nudged this way. Superspeed and an innate resistance to mind control. Lucky her.

"I'm fast," she says to Supergirl. "And at your service," Her upperclass London accent clear and crisp. "Just point me in the right direction."

Jemma Simmons has posed:
The hard light display remains active as Jemma steps back towards Daisy, away from the center of attention. However, the display remains, with numbers crunching to calculate the approximate amount of antiparasitic that needs to be created. It is all just a random series of numbers for anyone but the most interested in that sort of thing.

As Jemma reaches Daisy, a sigh is released. Followed by an apology, framed in that soft British accent of hers. "I do apologize for not telling you sooner, Daisy. It was one of those last minute discoveries you know I am quite famous for. I wanted to be sure we could meet the demands before announcing."

Hela has posed:
"So. You wish us to distribute this curative... but not on this Midgard, but another?" Hela asks. "And then after doing that... we would be able to destroy it on the other Midgard, before it arrives here?". She sounds merely curious, but this doesn't exactly sound very appealing any more - as it sounds like any extra souls, if any, will mainly be going to an alternative Hela rather than the Hela that matters.

She's in quite deep now though, so she merely nods. "I will be pleased to assist this realm ... and it's sister realm... in your efforts." she announces.

And then looks around at the others, all curious like. Well, she wanted to defend Midgard with its greatest heroes, and here they are. She smiles a bit wryly at herself. But.... looks like it won't be this Midgard which will be grateful for it.

Wally West has posed:
Deliver a cure to the planet. Shouldn't be too hard, right? But Wally is somehow late to work, even with super speed... but, it's do-able.

"Seems easy enough! So, when do we get started?" He asks. no questions needed for this apparently.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Only you would be apologizing after coming up with that great discovery to stop ZZGU's influence." Daisy sounds amused, grinning at her friend and shaking her head at her, "And bonus points for not making me fall asleep with all those big words." a wink following it, showing she is teasing the brit biochemist.

The questions being asked do make her glance back though, nodding at Hela. "The creature won't be liking it. And we may be having resistance from that earth's .., former protectors." a sigh. She certainly didn't feel like going against people she has learned to call friends before.

Siobhan Smythe has posed:
"I will help where I can, Supergirl." She nods her head before looking over at the others. Siobhan looks annoyed to a degree and then looks over at Hela briefly. She seems to consider the woman before looking to Kara again. "I can move quickly."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Supergirl's eyes light up as words of support come forth. This is not a task for most people, but SHIELD has some gear that might help. They put up their hands too. The DEO does not have the capacity to aid in this beyond distribution and logistics and the DEO agents there also raise their hands.

"There will be many challenges. The people of this other planet have been indoctrinated by ZZGU for forty years. They may fight us. And while many of their great heroes were killed, according to Zod's recording, some of them survived. Some, who are strong mentally.. broke."

She takes in a deep breath, "And as the Silver Banshee mentioned - there is another ...me. She is no Supergirl and she is not me. If my understanding is correct, she joined with Zod to fight ZZGU and was chosen by the monster to be its champion. She is twisted in her brain. If you see her.. call for backup. From what I've heard.." there is a visible shudder from the girl of steel, "she is just as much a monster as ZZGU."

She looks back to Jemma and says, "Thanks to Agent Jemma Simmons and Mr. Tony Stark, we have a real fighting chance to end this before it makes it to our Earth. Preparations for the mission will begin immediately. SHIELD will be assembling a specialised gateway for the mission. Thank you, everyone, for coming. We will also be joined by Princess Maxima and hopefully many other heroes who have helped us fight ZZGU so far."
