Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Cassie Sandsmark, Donna Troy

Diana Prince has posed:
Cassie and Diana are heading out of the ice cream shop and turning to the east to start down Bleecker street. Diana's separating herself from the people inside the store's entrance who'd recognized her AND CASSIE on the way out. Smiles, waves, and photos taken, the duo are on their way walking down the Manhattan side street.

Diana's eyes go up to the Sanctum Santorum as it lies just across the street and a few buildings down. She motions toward the creepy old mansion. "I dated the man who lives there once." She tells Cassie as they walk. "Well, three times, though one was me coming to rescue him in his home after he... well, had a bit of an emergency situation."

She raises her cup up to her lips to sip more of the ice water through the pink and yellow straw sticking out of the top of the plastic lid. "We ended our romantic pursuits in a rather cordial way though, and are still good friends."

Cassie Sandsmark has posed:
Cassie, for once, doesn't look like a Wonder Scout, but is dressed in typical youthful attire for the city in its colder months. She has her backpack over her shoulder, adjusting the way it sits on her shoulder as they come on out of the shop. She immediately turns out and steps as if to make their way over across the little traffic triangle and eventually over toward West 4th, and what is presumably the route she takes back toward the park and the 'campus' proper, such as it exists within the city.

Obviously, they're STILL chatting about their love lives. Such as these things exist.

And the fact that Diana has another former romantic acquaintance in the neighborhood seems to catch her by surprise, causing her to pause in the middle of that little irregular shaped median and peer down toward Bleecker. "Huh. Really? I think I know the place... what kind of dude lives in there, anyway?" She is not, as it happens, an initiate of the Mystic Arts! "Fancy house, tho, if kinda weird lookin. He some sorta rich dude? You're surprising me, now, here I thought you were this recluse, held up pining for your lost love. But then I find out you've been doing plenty of dating, and heck, it sounds like you're doing great with the guy you met at the embassy. While I just get-"

She stops. We'll say... maybe in surprise?

Donna Troy has posed:
The return of the four missing Titans had been somewhat spectacular. The Eiffel Tower had, by the narrowest of margins, escaped collision with the Milano, but Titans Tower itself had not escaped entirely. Nothing serious, though a few windows had suffered, and the Milano now needed repairs.

The Titans present at the tower and a few who had their T-Coms on (Cassie presumbably had hers off so as not to interrupt her date) already knew of the return, and there had been a brief welcome home party - or at least a lot of hugging and Pizza. Donna had excused herself from it early to have a short but important chat with Raven, but there were other priorities too.

Perhaps the logical thing to do would have been to phone Diana, but Donna just didn't feel that was right, so having made her excuses she took to the air and flew to Manhattan. Long distance flight isn't something she does often, but sometimes the bike just isn't fast enough. Breaking the sound barrier is something she does even less often, but this was a special occasion.

Donna had slowed down before coming in to Manhattan, not being totally irresponsible, and landed on the roof of the embassy with little fuss. There was a bit more fuss when she found Galatea inside, but she'd eventually found out from the Amazon aide where Diana and Cassie were, and flew across town to the Big Gay Ice Cream Shop.

Only to find that Cassie and Diana had already left. Increasingly frustrated, Donna left the ice cream shop without even finding an ice cream, and takes off again. She flies in ever-increasing circles, looking at the crowds below, but not finding what she's looking for.

After a few minutes she spots Diana's car, but Diana is not there. She must be on foot then. Back to the air and more circling.

The evening is cool and while foot traffic is not at its densest, there are always crowds in Greenwich village. Diana and Cassie could be anywhere. She remembers that Cassie is at NYU and flies down West 4th street as far as Broadway, but there's no sign. She heads back in case she's overtaken them, scouts up and down sixth with no more luck, then starts circling again.

Eventually she thinks of Bleecker Street. Just a few streets down, and home to one of Diana's friends in the Avengers. Worth a try.

Jackpot. Donna hurtles groundwards, coming to land with a creditable thump a dozen or so feet from where Cassie and Diana stand looking at the Sanctum. She stares at the pair for a moment, and her face creases up as if she's about to burst into tears. Instead there is a rush of air as she puts on a burst of speed that would impress even Wally, and without a word being spoken she has her arms around Diana, hugging more tightly than anyone much less sturdy than Diana could really survive.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana looks between Cassie and the Sanctum, only to smile and return her stare on to her. "The man that lives there?" She asks, with a little laugh. "Well... he is precisely who you are likely picturing in your head. And a whole lot more." She tells her friend with a sweet smile. "We should stop by there some time, just so you can meet him. It would be good for you to branch out your contacts in the city anyway. Especially with the Avengers."

The man was an Avenger? Mmm... sort've.

Cassie's last few words there matched a pattern that had started to strike Diana's conscience thoughts, and she's about to speak up when their conversation is broken up. She hears the person flying and getting closer, it makes her get defensive at first, until she realizes who it is shortly before they even land.

Diana just stares at her when she does land. That lingering second before the other lunges is met at its silent end with a gasped. "Donna."

Then the lunge comes and the two nearly-identical looking sisters are embracing, right in the middle of a fairly busy part of downtown Manhattan. Diana can hardly believe it. She'd had Donna on her mind every day since the incident that had separated them from each other, and with all the efforts that she-- and everyone looking for the missing Titans had put forth --nothing had come of it to help find them and bring them back.

And now she's just, back? No fanfare, just... here?

"Donna. Where did you come from?" Diana asks, her own demeanor now shifted to one of overwhelming happiness.

Ice cream with Cassie, AND Donna, in the same afternoon?

What a day!

Cassie Sandsmark has posed:
"Are you sure? My head's a weird place and I'm picturing some pretty freaky stuff..."

Cassie is joking, surely! Mostly...

At any rate! She is quite blissfully unaware of any aerial search, any impending reunion, and very much seems to treat the day as one like almost any other. That is what life has been for those of them not on space adventures, albeit with the usual spattering of heroic nonsense. And finals! They're closing on the end of the Fall semester, so she has a whole lot of work on her plate, and that's on top of all the other stuff. That is, in fact, one of the reasons she's not been to the Tower in a few days. She'd been to Gotham to help Phoebe, and then was back to New York.

School. Two teams. Three cities. And a magical island! It's all a lot to handle.

And so she is still pondering Diana's strange romantic misadventures when Donna trops out the sky with no warning at all and immediately rushes to nearly tackle Diana. There's actually a moment wher she reacts as if this might be an attack, her stance shifting to readiness, twirling to face-

Donna?

"Donna!"

OK, fine. Even if she gets left out of the immediate hug charge, they can make it a group thing, and she promptly flings herself into the pile, one arm around each of the pair of like-looking sisters.

Donna Troy has posed:
Donna is not quite ready to answer questions. She doesn't quite trust herself to speak quite yet. Nor is she ready to let go of Diana, just in case the universe is planning on separating her from her beloved sister again. However she does feel like she can spare one arm, so she reaches it out to Cassie, to fold her into the group hug. Cassie maybe gets a little less of an intense hug than Diana, Donna aware that tough as she is she's not quite as sturdy as Diana is, but it's still a rather fierce sort of a hug.

She eventually finds her voice to answer Diana, but finding your voice and finding an answer are two separate things. "I don't even know how to answer that," she says. "Oh gods, I've been... to some strange places." A laugh bursts out from her lips, more a laugh of relief than one of humor.

She finally feels able to pull away a little, but isn't prepared to let go just yet, and keeps one arm on each of them as she looks from face to face. "I was so worried about you both," she says, smiling. "Hera. It was... I didn't know what had happened. When we left... you... the attack on the Warzoon. I didn't know, I have been so worried. I saw the footage now." She glances to Cassie, grinning. "You riding a Kanga. It was magnificent."

Diana Prince has posed:
It's been almost three months to the DAY that the Titan team vanished in space.

Since the battle near Metropolis.

Since the Amazon army charged on to the field and helped push the Warzon back.

Since Queen Hippolyta herself stepped on American soil and, for the first time, saw man's world in a modern day setting.

A lot has happened since then, there's so much to say on it all too. But the trio of hugging women are standing in the middle of Manhattan and they're even starting to draw a crowd, though the onlookers are keeping respectfully distanced from the trio as they watch to see what is even happening.

Eventually, Diana pulls back from the hug and frames Donna's face in her hands, cupping her sister's face to stare at it and see it, feel it, watch it. She's quick to lean in and kiss Donna's forehead, lovingly before putting her arm around her again while she holds her close, protectively now, before she looks between the two of them as Donna speaks to Cassie about the Kanga.

"Worry is not strong enough a word, sweet sister." Diana says at first opportunity. "Is everyone back?" She has to check, just to make sure on the safety of the others who'd gone too.

Cassie Sandsmark has posed:
Cassie happily continues the group hug for as long as it lasts, until finally they separate, if only a little even then, so that Diana can get a better look at her missing counterpart. "Forget what she looked like?" she can't help but joke, finding some amusement even in the overly emotional moment.

Of course, it's Diana who hits the more important and more serious follow up, about the others, and Cassie can't help but look to Donna for the answer, a flash of concern replacing her previously elated expression.

And then there's everything that happened inbetween for all of them. For once, she's not all that wrapped up in her own battlefield glory - it was, at this points, months ago - and so she falls into narrating a little of the aftermath instead. "Once the Amazons joined the battle, yeah, things were under control here pretty soon after that. But those of us on the surface only got the vaguest of details about what happened to you guys up by the uh, battleplanet thing."

"We've been spending the time since then researching it. Eveyone was researching stuff, doing all the science, and we got the T-Jet setup for proper space operations. We went to Jupiter!" Which is kind of a big deal under normal circumstances, yet only leads to a bit of a frustrated look on Cassie's part. "But we really couldn't figure it out. We tried some other things, I even bugged Menalippe about it. That's how we knew you weren't dead, but we couldn't figure out where you were."

Donna Troy has posed:
"Everyone is back," Donna confirms. "Caitlin, Vorpal, Victor... we're all okay. Just very relieved to be home. She exhales long and hard, releasing some of those months of pent-up tension. "You're right, Diana... worry is not a strong enough word. I knew that we had defeated the Warzoon in space, but I had no idea what had happened back on Earth. What happened to you two, to mom, to the rest of the Titans. Being lost far from home was bad, but not knowing..." she shakes her head. "That was far worse. "

She stares into the distance for a moment before breaking into a huge grin, and aiming it squarely at Cassie. "Yes I have heard of your efforts. Going to Jupiter, negotiating with aliens. Cassie, the probe that you guys sent into Hyperspace - that's what guided us home. We were trapped in a place -- I can't even tell you how strange it was. A pocket universe, with seven worlds orbiting a black hole. We were able to find our way out, but that only lead us to hyperspace. Without that probe we would still be stuck there now. I am so proud of you all, what you did..." she shakes her head, trying to take it all in, then grins wide again.

"Warworld. Everything went exactly according to plan and we drove them away. According to plan until the very last moment, that is. Warworld opened a wormhole in an attempt to escape and they did not do a very good job of it. Apparently they opened it up onto a singularity adrift in Hyperspace and it caused a... gods, I'll have so much to tell Charikleia next time I go to Themyscira. I fear our natural philosophy is even more wrong than the physics of Man's World when it comes to black holes, she will want to know everything."

Donna turns her smile back to Diana, and gives her an extra squeeze. "I know that Caitlin will be very glad to see you. We got a ride back the last part of the way from some friends, but their space ship got damaged in the landing. Cait is helping them fix it right now. Diana, Cait should be an Amazon. I mean formally. She has proven herself a hundred times over. I will talk to mother about it soon."

She blinks and turns back to Cassie, in surprise. "Menalippe? Really? That's..." she looks to Diana as if for confirmation, but really doesn't know how to end the thought. Consulting oracles is a tricky business, and rarely particularly satisfying unless you actually /want/ a super vague answer.

Diana Prince has posed:
Cassie is wise enough about Diana's memory to know how it works, and quick witted enough to know that holding on to Donna's face to smile at her is likely to hold on to the memory of seeing her sister again in the flesh. To have it forever inside her mind, the happiness of having a loved one back that you thought you may have lost.

But she took her hands away when the two started to share words with one another, relieved with a visible nod at the status of the other Titans, Caitlin being the one she obviously knows the best. "Thank the Gods." Diana softly says of the positive news.

Between what Cassie and Donna share, Diana elects to speak on Menalippe first. "We did. We took Kate Bishop to the island as well, and visited the Oracle for guidance and insight on ... all of this. It was ... an experience. One Cassie should tell you all about." Diana says with a grin toward her Ice Cream partner.

A look back toward Donna. "Everything you all have learned up there is extremely valuable information too. I hope to hear more about it all. But for now... it is just good... to be with you again." She says it with visible relief flooding in to her soul.

But there's more, Caitlin for instance.

"Caitlin has my support for that, of course. Mother will likely agree. Her outlook on all of this has shifted some, since she has come to the shores of America herself, and seen the fights that we are dealing with first hand now. It was arranged via Zatanna Zatara, prior to the battle. I told our people the portals would open, only if we needed the reinforcements. Which we did. But if you have seen the footage, then you know what happened." She smiles warmly again.

"I will need to meet those who helped you get home. I am not sure I can help fix a space ship, but I can offer at least my thanks for their efforts in bringing ... all of you back to us."

Cassie Sandsmark has posed:
As far as things go with black holes, wormholes, and other sorts of weird space holes... Cassie is far from an expert. About as far as one can GET from expert, honestly. So she just gives a vague grin and a bit of a shrug over the whole explanation. "You two will have a lot to talk about, yeah I'm sure." Donna and Science Amazon, that is. But maybe Cait too. "However it all works, well, glad we were able to get through to you. I was really only on escort duty, and I -kinda- screwed that up too, but it all worked out in the end, huh?"

But Diana's rejoinder on the Oracle business causes her to give a vague little shrug, as if there's not a whole lot more to say. "I can tell you about it, but... it was kinda like you said. Confusing. She summoned up some... something, and she gave us a bunch of prophecies. But I'm thinking it was stuff about where you were, not anything here, cuz none of it really ended up helping. But she did tell us you were alive, which is, well-"

She gives a helpless smile. It was what she needed to know.

When Caitlin's sisterhood is brought up, she's quick to add: "I'm going to start training Kate and Phoebe now, too, so it sounds like our Amazon ranks are gonna get bigger. You know, really 'build the brand' or whatever it is they say." Yeah, another strange occurence during Donna's absence seems to see Cassie turned into some kind of PR Agent for the island, complete with media appearances and various efforts to start bringing more people there.

"So you met even more aliens, huh?" Now it's back to the more 'casual' of topics, because even here on little old Earth, aliens are becoming more and more of a thing. "I'm sure if they helped you, they'll be people we want to help in return, see about even working with in the future. We gotta make friends out there if we're gonna keep stirring up space-trouble."

Donna Troy has posed:
"I think we have both been working on Mother long enough that she will surrender to the suggestion purely out of a desire to stop us from arguing," Donna says to Diana with an ever-widening grin. Talking to her sister again - talking about their mother - it's all starting to make it feel real. The last few months have had little about them that felt real, and coming home has not entirely sunk in yet.

"Kate... you took Kate to Themyscira?" Donna seems a little dumbstruck by this. "That's... that's wonderful. I am very glad that she has had that chance, and I hope she will consent to further visits. If we are to continue what has started by making Cassie an Amazon, Kate would be high on my list. I have wanted to introduce her to Philippus for some time, Kate is a wonderful archer. I have already given her a Themysciran bow and been teaching her some of our techniques. Kate reminds me a little of myself at her age."

Donna smiles fondly. She's proud of all of the Titans, particularly of the young ones, but Kate has impressed her more than most. Of course there's another young Titan Donna is particularly fond of, and she can't quite stop herself giving that young Titan's hair a bit of a scruffing.

"Cassie, I am certain that your contributions were invaluable. As for oracles - do not let that worry you too much. The gods do not work in ways that are obvious to us, and they tell us what they think we need to know, not what we think we need to know. Perhaps it helped more than you think, because if you had not known we were still alive you would not have strived to find a way to help us come home, and then we would be lost in Hyperspace still. The gods are wiser than we are, Cassie. Perhaps they knew that letting you know too much would mean you would not strive."

Donna finally feels enough like this is /real/ and that Diana and Cassie are /actually there/ and not about to disappear again to let them go and take a step back, but the smile of sheer happiness is nowhere close to leaving her face. "Oh, so many aliens. So many different types! The place we were - it was seven worlds, but a hundred species and more. Even humans, oddly. And after that - well, the people who gave us a ride home after we came out of Hyperspace, we have brought back with us. If you'd like to meet some aliens, either of you - they will be staying at the tower for a little while. One of them is human too, strangely. Another looks like a tree and is called Groot. He likes to make sure everyone knows this. Another is a talking raccoon, but he doesn't like it when people call him that. Or being patted on the head and called cute. It's hard not to want to do so, but refrain from the temptation. I am not entirely sure he does not have space rabies."

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is nodding her head softly to Donna as Cassie speaks of the others being trained as well. "The Arts Center is open to the public as of next month, but it is already open to our own people, and I have told Cassie to start offering training to Phoebe as well now, who I hope will benefit in the training helping her escape from the... situation she has found herself in late." A whole other story that could certainly use more support sent Phoebe's way by others such as Donna.

Diana's eyes scan about a moment, seeing people watching them, one of them even a patrol Officer who's seemingly aware of at least who Diana is, and likely knows that the Justice League member often deals with unsafe situations. Diana raises a hand to wave to the officer then to let him know all is well here.

"We should... we should head back to my car. We can drive Cassie back to campus, as she has more classes this afternoon. I will, take you to the Embassy?" Diana asks of Donna. "Or do you need to get back to them?"

'Them' being the Titans and their new space faring friends.

A Raccoon?

A Groot?

Normally Diana might wonder if such things are coming from someone who is suffering from some kind of space sickness, but she trusts her sister's state of mind. Mostly.

"I... look forward to meeting these people, now even more, I should say." Diana states as she motions the two of them back across the street to her fancy silver sports car. It's a two seater, but it has a bench behind the front seats that someone (definitely Cassie) will get to squeeze back in to.
