Cast of Characters: Ted Kord, Joan Wright

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord is burning up the ice on the rink at Rockefeller Center. He'd begin skating a few days ago, after years away and discovered his super heroics made him a very good skater. Skate, skate, skate, skate! His speed would make him a menace if he didn't maneuver as well as he did. It was also very good practice for the aero-disks. But, at the moment he was just enjoying skating and being very good at it and thinking, "This must be what Batman feels when he does... anything really!" Noice. He finds a clear area and jumps spinning into the air and lands, stopping in a spray of ice to some clapping.

Joan Wright has posed:
While things have been busy with explosions and repair work. Even Damage Control employees get some break time. And what better way to forget about death and destruction than going ice skating? Or in Joan's case, sitting on the side lines, sipping hot cocoa and watching others gently gliding upon the ice. Bundled up for the cold with some cargo pants made of a heavier material, a jacket covering the long sleeved shirt, and a red and white knit cap situated upon her head she appears... comfortable.

As Ted zooms by, Joan blinks. Ok, that was not a gentle glide. Giving a sigh, she lifts up her drink cup and sips. Even here it's not peaceful. Although granted, the form was pretty good. When the clapping starts up near her she lowers her cup, setting it down to give a few polite claps before she picks up her drink again. Man, that is some damn good Cocoa.

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord hears the applause and pulls his large furry hat off to sweep it in a bow. Te wan sunlight glints on his goggles, which with the blue ski suit help identofy his really. He decides to quit while he's ahead and returns to gliding more sedately around the rink.

He gives a wave as he passes by, recognizing the blonde hair and construction clothes and the DC emblem. He winds up waving to the bottom of a cocoa cup, and turns, banks and comes to a stop in front of Joan, leaning on the rink and and waiting for her to come up for air.

"Ahem!"

Joan Wright has posed:
As the cup lowers and her vision is greeted with a Suddenly!Beetle Joan jerks her head back. "Ah!-" She pauses, placing him. Outside of context it takes a little longer. But the goggles do help "Oh hi T-Beetle."

She looks to the rink behind him and then back to Ted, "That was a quick lap."

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord smirks. "I made a little circle and you can call me Ted. This isn't my uniform. The goggles are just to protect the eyes from ice and light and such. So how's tricks?" He leans forward and looms slightly.

"How's the architecture racket? Don't say it's building please. I've heard this before and where's you get the cocoa?"

Joan Wright has posed:
"Ah. Ted then." Joan corrects herself, "I'm sorry, I try to keep track of the state of costume and adjust the naming based off of that but your various states of dress are a bit more challenging than other clients. You're almost always wearing some type of goggles."

She glances to her paper cup as Ted inquires to its origin and glances over to the small table with the sign advertising hot cocoa and the group they're fundraising for. "I got the cocoa over there. And, things have been busy. People are not behaving this season and Damage Control's been busy. I haven't had much time to flip any houses."

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord steps out onto the concrete and teeny steps to the table to get some cocoa. He comes back to sit by Joan sipping it greedily.

"I know I'm supposed to be the /Blue/ Beetle but this was taking things too far. Ahhh good stuff. I should throw some more money at them but I have... four dollars on me. I could fly. home and back? Maybe just contribute tomorrow?" He settles in his seat.

Joan Wright has posed:
"I'm sure they'll be back tomorrow." Joan assures, holding the cup between her hands to look to the steam rising out of it. "There will be more of a chance to raise money then. And if not, you got the name of their group. They probably have a website."

She looks back towards the ice, "So, were those the hover skates again?"

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord shakes his head. "Nooooo these are ice skates. Using the two are quite similar though. Ice skates stop faster than the aero-disks. I just wanted to skate. I did it the other day and remembered how much I liked it. Only when I learned to skate I was an out of shape kid. I have a better form now. Don't you think? Anyway I wouldn't use a cheap trock to get applause. Not that desperate. I do acrobatics, you know> ... The hot dog guy isn't here. Hot dogs are great on a cold day, believe it or not."

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan smiles, "Well, I'd probably would have to see the 'before' before I could answer a question that compares both states. But, you are in shape right now." Joan pauses, looking around. "I'm sure there's a hot dog vendor closer to Central Park. And that's not too far for someone who is...in shape. "

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord unties his skates, working deftly. "Yeah, I'm sure," he says slipping on his boots. He pulls his aero-disks off his back and steps onto them. "I gotta go back to the office... do you need a lift anywhere? I'll be glad to fly low and slow for you. Platonic princess carry or pony style?" There are some soft gasps as he floats about a yard in the air. Phones come out and he spins about slowly to let people take their snaps before turning back to Joan.

Joan Wright has posed:
Joan shakes her head "Thank you but, neither." She replies, "I've had a long day and could use a few more minutes just taking it slow here. Maybe get another cup of cocoa. Maybe get a hot dog, now that you've planted that thought in my head. But, another time perhaps?"

Ted Kord has posed:
Ted Kord does a somewhat awkward bow, the disks responding to his body language. "Ooops... okay, fair enough. Don't be a stranger. I have to hand in a check to DC next week. Well, take care Joan, oh and thanks again for the pep talk. Happy Holidays!"

Ted adjusts his glasses and lifts off, flying neither low or slow. But he is a professional Beetle. Don't try this at home. With a keening whistle the disks take him away till he's a blue speck.
