Let's Destroy the Planet
Date of Scene: 19 December 2020
Location: Somewhere over the Pacific
Synopsis: An eclectic mix of heroes manage to track down and finally put an end to Captain Planet and Gaia. The world is safe for big industry once more.
Cast of Characters: Scott Lang, Johnny Storm, Bobbi Morse, Vivian Vision, Doris Zuel, Hope Svelgate, Karen Starr

Scott Lang has posed:
Factories, tankers, oil platforms, mining installations. Ever since the self-proclaimed 'Captain Planet' had been summoned at the seeming cost of five teens' lives the super-powered ecoterrorist had been on a rampage, and not a peaceful one at that. Each time vanishing out over the ocean into a dense fog he'd conjure in the few instances someone strong enough to challenge him had shown up, disappearing from any and all conventional tracking systems.

This could only go on for so long though as Pym labs using data from their first encounter with his teen sacrifices was able to identify a similar field of energy sitting stably somewhere out over the Pacific. All they needed now was time to put together a proper plan of attack.

Which is right about when suddenly an entire schoolbus of teenagers got kidnapped off the road and vanished out over the ocean at that same spot. Sixty missing children in the hands of a being that was already known to have sacrificed five of his own followers meant waiting around was no longer an option. In less than an hour SHIELD had scrambled what and whoever was available to go after them. Even now the strikeforce approaches with a mostly recovered Scott sitting in one of the Quinjets on comms. He was hardly a leader but at this point was considered the resident 'expert' on the blue-skinned menace.

"We should be hitting the cloaking field, shield, bubble thing in about four minutes. Remember this guy controls, well, pretty much everything we saw. Water, wind, rock. Professor Kyozan blew his damn arm off but he's grown that back since too. Not really sure what it's going to take to put him down but I think we have the element of..sur...prise on our side. Did I mention he controls weather too?" Scott's voice fading on comms. The reason was obvious to those flying in, a hurricane was forming over them. A big, mean looking one at that with lightning already arcing out of it here and there with claps of thunder accompanying.

Johnny Storm has posed:
The Human Torch is here!

Johnny's taking the plane, mostly because he wants a second to go over any notes and information on this Captain Planet guy. He missed some of the 'in between' adventures. Johnny is, for once, not his cocky self; Torch's body language is confident, even in the face of such power, but there are sixty kids missing and Johnny's had time to learn at least a shred of tact.

"Could really use Storm for this one. I can only do so much with my temperature controls." Johnny says, finally, cracking his knuckles. "Do we have a plan outside of 'hit him and hope it works'? Any photos of the island? Suspected places he's keeping the kids? Or is the field covering all of that?" It's a SHIELD op, sort of, so Johnny's expecting some information before going in. "Splitting up to nab the civvies might not be a bad idea. The thing might have to feed off of the kids to keep going or something awful like that."

Johnny puts a stick of gum in his mouth after that grim hypothesis, because it's important to have healthy teeth and gums before a fight with a living storm front.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi is in the pilot seat of the lead quinjet, flanked by two more on either side. Five quinjets. This is a serious threat and she wishes the whole Avengers or even the Justice League were able to respond. But she's got an Ant-Man and anyone else he could gather.

The five quinjets are cloaked, though whether that'll work against Captain Planet or not remains to be seen. She stays somewhat quiet as they approach the location, hoping that this time they'll be more prepared. SHIELD brought the big pew pew guns this time. Honestly, she wanted to bring the helicarrier for this guy because it has the biggest of the pew pew guns. But they simply ran out of time to prepare for that.

"All Agents, our priority is the children on the bus. Find and evacuate," she says over the SHIELD comms channel and then broadens back up to the mission channel, "We're good to go Scott. Beginning final approach now." Bobbi runs a diagnostic on her personal wings, because things could get messy again real fast with this Captain Planet guy.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian isn't your typical candidate for a SHIELD operation, although she's tagged along on missions with Bobbi a few times in the past, but at some point a memo went around Pym Industries saying to help keep the new Ant Man out of trouble. It's bad for the corporations stock price /and/ it makes the Avengers look bad.

So here she is on a Quinjet full of SHIELD agents. Rather standing out in her typical yellow, green and red colour scheme against all the tactical agent gear.

"Will I be required to act as a back up communications hub? Or should I concentrate my efforts on searching for any signals that may indicate where the children are being held?" It's not unreasonable to assume the Captain has some degree of technology at his disposal, given his use of a submarine, but who can say if it'll be detectable with all the interferance from the weather!

Doris Zuel has posed:
For her part, Dr. Zuel was actually just finishing up with being told about another issue when it was recommended that she head out on yet another mission. Who recommended her, one wonders. All the same, she's here now on the jet with the others, frowning and looking out the window at the storm before she shakes her head, "I can't fly." She states simply enough, "Not going to be a great deal of use if that comes up."

"Also, how deep is the water here." She looks out again and shakes her head before looking again to those that are here, "These are important things that I need to know."

Scott Lang has posed:
"We don't know much," Scott's voice less steady now as turbulence from the storm throws the Quinjet about. Lightning strikes another Quinjet but while the lights flicker it keeps going despite some hollers on the radio. "Recon was due to start twelve hours from now until he nabbed the bus. You know, start subtly poking at the field, maybe underwater, tiny drones, real low-key stuff. Not fly in guns blazing...which is kinda all we got. He's got the five rings those kids had, we know they're important. Aim for those, otherwise we just keep hitting him till he stays down!" Scott trying his best to sound confident and failing quite miserably at it. The waters surged below and Scott could feel his stomach dip as the monitor showed the approaching edge of the 'field' whatever it was. Would they simply smash against it? Fry everything?

He clenched his teeth and...it was a tropical paradise. The angry stormclouds vanished and the Sun poured down from above. Well, not vanished, they circled a large section of the ocean, the eye of the story, but most eyes don't look quite this nice, with what looked like a beautiful vacation island down below with sandy beaches and grass-roofed cabanas. The only thing really out of place besides the odd weather was a schoolbus sitting near one of the larger huts.

"Well I'd say if the kids aren't on the bus they're in there. Bobbi why don't you and some of your people take Viv and get the kids. Torch, Giganta, and me can hold off Blueboy if he shows up, I'm sure it's shallow enough for us at least..."

The voice that cuts him off is chipper, cheery, and weirdly powerful, seeming to resonate from all around them inside and out the cockpit. "HEY guys! I SEA you!" it announces, just before the ocean erupts under them into a series of powerful geysers that fire up hundreds of feet into the air at the undersides of the Quinjets like firehoses on steroids that send the craft cartwheeling towards the island.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Alarms go off in the cockpits of all five quinjets as they are suddenly hit with geysers of ocean that knock them about. All the passengers are going for a bit of a ride if they aren't strapped in. ~~ STALL WARNING ~~ is announced by the computer as Bobbi rapidly pushes buttons and tugs on the stick to move from horizontal flight mode to vertical flight mode before they tumble in to the island itself.

A few quick glances out at the world spinning outside she sees the other quinjet pilots trying to do the same thing. They get low, real fast, real quick, and buzz past the island as Bobbi gets control of the quinjet again. One of the quinjets explodes as it hits a rocky part of the islands edge. The remaining four quinjets sour back around in a wide arc approaching the island again.

    There's a lot of radio chatter suddenly and as everything starts to settle down Bobbi hears <Quinjet #4 checking in> <Quinjet #5 checking in> <Quinjet #27 checking in> ... Bobbi replies <Quinjet #19 checking in. We've lost Quinjet #3>

Johnny Storm has posed:
Johnny gives Viv a thumbs up when all the secret agents aren't looking. He's been in this business too long to be intimidated by SHIELD speed suits, but he remembers what it was like being a kid in a cape and tights around government mooks, and the resentment being palpable. "Focus on the kids. I can handle Namor in a mullet."

It's like prophecy; Johnny feels the ship quake, and remembers every time in his life a rocket ship failed him. The angry sea rises up to swallow him and Johnny remembers his seventeenth birthday when an enraged Namor tried to drown him mid-air. He looks at danger, and screaming, painful death at the hands of a genie who doesn't know what a pun is.

"Thank God, something to do." Johnny says, letting himself fall out of the plane. He holds his arms out, leans his head back, and crows a laugh as he falls towards an ugly death. Then his body catches fire, and the laws of physics take a break. "Flame ON!"

The Human Torch dodges around the geysers almost lazily, hurtling through the air like a living rocket with the agility and precision of a bird or advanced targeting drone. Johnny's a bit slow on one, and simply boils the steaming water into nothingness, evaporating himself a hole through the geyser.

"Hey, big man!" Johnny shouts, and hurls a fireball at Captain Planet's chest. "Talking a lot of shit for a baby eater! Come on, give me your manifesto, I wanna see how much you line up with Doom's ecofash phase!"

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian Vision holographs up a 'screen' for Doris with geographical data on it. Average depth of the water, rock composition of the island, flora and fauna found locally and what looks like the wikipedia page for the main resort on the island. Of course with the way the Quinjet is jolting around it might be tricky to read.

"That is all the information I have available right now. I am attempting to obtain full schematics for all buildings by accessing planning records. As well as details of the various utilities. Of course I can't account for any changes that may have been made since." It's entirely possible SHIELD has all that info. Probable in fact. But they probably aren't too keen on letting her onto their secure networks..

She blinks at Johnny giving her a thumbs up, then nods. "Do not worry. I will assist Doctor Morse to the best of my abilities." A pause and then. "Although I am unsure why you will need to deal with the leader of Atlantis... Or what relevance the White Mullet might have even if it is natively found in the Pacific." Perhaps Namor uses them as weapons.

Doris Zuel has posed:
A sigh and Doris shakes her head as she looks at what is happening outside. She just frowns and steps up from her seat and states, "I don't know what this is all about but I guess I'm on saving duty." She goes to the exit of the quinjet and just shakes her head, "I'll be on the island if anyone needs me." She then simply jumps out of the quinjet for the island. As she falls, she begins to grow and expand. Quickly reaching two hundred feet tall before she slams into the ground and then slowly stands up and shakes her head. She looks up at the storm that now feels more like a stiff breeze.

"Ok, well, people who can fly can deal with the asshole." She looks to the bus and then around, "Lets find those kids and get this done." She starts in that direction.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
On the island's white sandy beach, a sword seems to pierce reality itself from the other side protruding into this space. A glowing rent is seemingly slashed through space and time by the blade. The fissure slowly widens and through it steps a tall, powerfully built woman with bone white skin and dressed in an outfit best suited to the heat of Hell or perhaps the tropics. Long white hair flows out behind her as she strides from the portal, which slowly reseals itself as if it had never been.

The expression on Lady Death's face is one of anger. It is not terribly hard to make Lady Death angry, but harvesting the souls of innocent children is pretty high on the list of things that will draw her immediate ire. She looks around, taking a moment to get her bearings, before her eyes pupiless white eyes, glowing with blue flame lock upon Captain Planet. "You know, I love nature, it's one of the better parts of this world. Far better than most of humanity, but you've taken something you shouldn't have. Now, return those souls before I rip them out of you and drag you into the depths of Hell!" The glow of blue fiery arcane energy around her feet intensifies as she lifts off into the air to confront Captain Planet.

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott handles the Quinjets nearly falling out of the sky (and one actually doing so) with his usual gravitas. "NO NO NO!" he hollers over and over until it levels out and circles back, only then letting go of the armrests which now feature permanent impressions of his fingertips. Shakily he snaps his helmet up into place and turns around. "Alright, we land, get the kids, get...hey, hey Giganta what..." his speech cut off as the crimson-haired Amazon leaps out while they're still in the air. "Showoff," he mutters as he glances back out the cockpit window as Johnny takes his first shot at the Captain.

The fireball alas doesn't seem to do much beyond push Planet back a bit before he turns towards Johnny in the air. "I'd make a crack about you being a hothead but I guess those are all old hat by now eh CHUM?" the emphasis on that last word giving some indication of what's to come as he charges Johnny for a full-on tackle trying to drive him towards the ocean. As he does so the Captain's blue-skinned flesh crackles and peels away, revealing a magma-like flesh underneath as he looks to try and match Johnny's heat at the same time. If they hit the water there would be one hell of a steam cloud for sure.

By now the craft were landing on the wide flat white beaches, Scott waiting reluctantly ready to be the SECOND one off. He bounces from one foot to the other and takes deep breaths like a boxer warming up. "OK team, whatever happens, don't get scared. We're pros, we're heros, we've got this! Everyone with me!" he cries out with a fist pump. The bay door lowers, Scott charges off taking two steps...and a blast of lightning nails him in the chest, throwing him all the way back through the jet and straight out the windshield which shatters on impact. Standing there at the line where sandy beach becomes jungle was a tall exotic looking woman of southeast Asian heritage. Her dark hair billows along with her dress, hers arms outstretched and fingers still crackling with electricity.

"You disturb Gaia's domain mortals. Turn back now or be destroyed," she commands, energy pulsing around her like a Filipino Galadriel.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi takes a moment to catch her breath and then hears over the comms <Agent Harris reporting> <Agent Pietrov reporting. Agent Hannigan has sustained a blow to the head but is stable and unconscious> She lets out another breath as her agents from Quinjet #3 got out before it crashed. <Acknowledged, make your way to Quinjet #4>

She unbuckles and gets out of the pilots seat, then rushes out after Scott and pats him on the shoulder, "You're trying to hard. Everyone here trusts you Scott, you've got this." She looks over her shoulder and gives a nod to the agents as they give her a bit of a perplexed look that she just said that.

Agent Sangrenski opens up a briefcase and sends out a small squadron of dwarf drones in to the air to start searching the island. "Thank you Viv, you're a million times faster than an eye interface or fingers and a mouse. Try and cover us with one of your holograms so Captain Grass Head doesn't decide to change targets and focus on us."

The agents stop and stare at the woman wielding lightning and Bobbi calls out, "Agents, equip SHIELDS! and someone check on Scott!" The agents fall back to seats they were sitting on and pull out from behind each one a shield with the SHIELD logo on it and start to form up like a SWAT team.

She stares down the woman for a moment and says, "We're here to return abducted children to their families.. I'm not sure who you are, but we have no quarrel with you." She hopes Viv can hide them, it'll be interesting to see how this electro-woman faces off against the hidden.

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Really?! You're trying to match me flame for flame?" Johnny shouts, arrogantly. Internally he's a little worried about how well this Captain Planet is keeping up; one of Johnny's great fears is the full destructive potential being applied to, well, a planet that can't quite take it. If this Planet is capable of the kind of heat Johnny can command at full power...

And then that lady who's wanted for 'leading an undead army' back in '12 shows up and Johnny does a double take. It's not easy to shock the Human Torch but she manages it; which isn't a great thing in deadly mid-air combat. While the heat from Captain Planet can't hurt Johnny, the force from his magma armor is enough to send him spiraling for a second, reeling from the impact.

"Ow." Johnny says, humiliated. He quickly recovers, flying up before he hits the water, and tries a different tactic with the Captain; reaching out with his Temperature Control to try and drain the heat from Captain Planet's magma armor, leaving him brittle and vulnerable.

Vivian Vision has posed:
"Doctor Morse I trust these craft are insured?" Vivian wonders. It's clearly a rhetorical question, because even as Viv is phasing up from her seat she's turning and pulling it out from the craft. A holographic bubble masks everyone around her, although in the close confines of a Quinjet it'll only be of limited use.

Why she's trashing the jet becomes quickly apparant when, instead of rushing out to fight this mystery woman flinging electricity, the teenage Synthezoid throws a chair at her with full force. Don't mind that her feet probably leave little dents in the floor either. A little work with a hammer will soon fix it up!

Rather than stick around and wait for a counter attack she phases through the floor, it's pretty hard to zap someone when they're literally grounded! She does however stick close enough to keep her allies holographically hidden in a two hundred foot radius bubble. Over the comms channel she notes "I may not be visible but I shall accompany you and your team."

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Lady Death watches as Captain Planet ignores her to attack the Human Torch. Her scowl deepening, she turns and points her sword in the direction Captain Planet flew. The blue arcane energy that surrounds her begins to flow down the blade, amplifying its power, before it fires off like a high intensity laser of mystic power straight for Captain Planet. "I wasn't done talking to you." She calls out, clearly intent to force the issue.

The appearance of 'Gaia' almost seems to bring some amusement to her expression, "Wait your turn, Death will be with you soon. It's been awhile since I've killed a goddess."

It is also impossible to miss the presence of a two hundred foot tall woman, but for now she remains focused on the stealer of children's souls and the one aiding him.

Karen Starr has posed:
It's anyone's guess what Karen was doing when all of this began. What is important is the sound of her arrival, audible to anyone on the island as, first, the raptruous noise of something careening through the upper atmosphere.

For a short time, there's nothing, as the hurricane rages solidly on, pouding rain and wind upon the combatants as they try to handle the blue-fleshed menace. Then, there is a noise similar to thunder, a sudden, violent and booming explosion from up above the clouds.

In that moment, there is a rush of soft force, enough to be felt as a shockwave, but not strong enough then to cause anything untoward, as the cloud cover parts instantaneously.

For those with good eyesight, in the blinding light of the sun that had just moments ago been the eye of a raging squall, floats a lone figure, her hands pressed together, arms outstretched.

She floats there for a moment. "I've got him." echoes quietly over the Avengers and SHIELD communicators of those that have them.

With a loud crack, that silhouette takes off at blinding speed, charging the Captain that Johnny and Lady Death have engaged. She's heard the reports of the damage he's caused, and it's quite obvious she's not wearing the kid gloves.

All of that force is delivered into one of her favored maneuvers, a pauldron first bull-rush of a tackle, that if it connects will see Power Girl halt entirely, and transfer every ounce of momentum of her approach into the ecoterrorist himself.

"Focus on Not Storm or Weather Witch or whoever she is."

Scott Lang has posed:
Scott Lang floats there in the cool ocean water staring at the bright sunny sky almost peacefully. The immense scorch mark on his chest being a bit of a giveaway things aren't entirely right with the world as a couple of SHIELD agents reach him and start pulling him to shore, lowering his helmet to check on him. "Did I get 'em?" Scott hoarsely whispers with a pained cough. The suit had some resistance to electricity, but the sheer impact was enough to make his everything hurt and crack a few ribs.

"Inspiring sir. Rest now," orders one agent as they drag him onto the sand, Scott gratefully complying as he closes his eyes.

"I'll match you pain for pain Mister!" Captain Planet confidently informs Johnny with his usual cheery spunk, flashing a smile with his blazing lava-like skin lending it a creepier quality than usual as he sets his hands on his hips, like a parody of some superhero. A smile that falters as Torch starts to drain the heat out of him. "Hey pal, I don't know you well enough to let you suck me o-AAARGH!" the Captain's next less family-friendly quip brought to a halt by Lady Death's laser of mystical force. When he looks back up at her after curling up with pain his expression is changed, one of rage with a neat hole visible through his chest.

"No? Well I'm about done talking with you!" no pun this time as Captain Planet raises his arms overhead. The heat is still draining from his body but now he's using it, already switching to another form as ice forms and builds on his body, the tropical air beginning to chill rapidly throughout the entire region. "Now how abo-"

And with that the Captain is, gone. As Power-Girl strikes him with the tackle his ice-like body shatters and seemingly vaporizes into nothingness. One Punch Woman seemingly won the day.

Back on the beach it isn't going quite as easy. Gaia waves a hand, the chair deflected by a gust of wind causing it to go wheeling off into the jungle behind her while the, well, shielded SHIELD agents advance. "Those children are born of the lifeforce of this planet and hence belong to me as much as they do any parent they have. You may not have them!" shrieks Gaia who presses her hands outward, another blast of wind starting towards the group, this time bringing with it the sands on the beach which begin to swirl and tear around them with biting, blinding force. She seems to notice little else around her.

Meanwhile above, the victory party may not be as long-lived as hoped. The chill begins to focus around the trio and deepen, ice threatening to build up on their flesh or equivalent thereof while other particles of ice start to coalesce in the air above into a very familiar shape.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
"There's no such thing as insurance for super spies Viv, that's what budgets are for. You're fine.. whoa," she ends as she sees the way Viv embeds herself in creating all that force for the super-throw. "So long as they can still fly we're good, they're our ticket to get these kids off the island."

"Giganta are you still there, if you're not engaged with the blue wonder out there, we have a small spark of a problem on the beach that could use stepping on," she says over the mission comms hoping that somehow Doris can still hear them when she's big.

She draws her ICER and takes the opportunity to shoot two dendrotoxin rounds squarely at electro-woman. Chair, giant foot, dendrotoxin. Time to see how round one fairs. She ducks behind a shield the moment she's shot in case fire is returned blindly in to the quinjet. "Remeriz, Peters, flank left. Finnegan, Hedgewink flank right. The rest of you, we're going to advance slowly. This isn't a race. We have time, we out siege her."

From behind her, Agent Weiss reports, "Ant-Man has a steady pulse." Bobbi nods back to her and glances out the window, "What I wouldn't give for a Captain Marvel, or a Kryptonian right now." She pauses as there is a clap of the sound barrier breaking with the arrival of the white clad superhero, "Ask and you shall receive apparently."

Then the winds and sands begin to pick up and the Agents bed themselves down to wait it out, "Riiight. You know by that logic we belong to you too and let me tell you, slavery doesn't sit well with us." To her agents she says, "Keep pushing forward. Let's see if I can't distract her a little. Viv, if you get the chance.. engulf her."

Bobbi's wings snap out and she jumps in to the air letting the gusts take her up and out of the holographic field. Purple glowing black wings, and shnappy yellow glasses, "Hey Avatar, you're messing with the wrong viral species." She clicks the full-auto button on her ICERs and draws the second, then starts to strafe and fire just like Falcon taught her.

Johnny Storm has posed:
Great, Johnny thinks as he hears the familiar voice over the com system, we got the angry one. Everything else is pretty...well magic hurts him, that's a plus, and then Power Girl just broke Captain Planet into Captain Millions of Pieces.

"He has hostages." Human Torch says, though it's a bit hollow. Nothing he can do if the genie IS dead, and Johnny's gut says he's playing possum anyway. This instinct is proven correct as everything starts to get...

Lady Death and Power Girl can see Johnny slowly sink as he expends fire to keep the ice from dousing him. He shivers a little, but looks more irritated than anything; it'd take a focused blast of cold to knock Johnny out of plasma form at this point.

"We need a plan!" Johnny exclaims, deciding to focus on the job for now. "This thing has to have a weakness, just hitting him is getting us nowhere!"

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Lady Death does not impress easily, shattering an opponent into a oblivion however is a feat of martial prowess that she can certainly appreciate and her expression says as much. She is about to turn her attention towards 'Gaia' down on the beach when Captain Planet begins to reform from what for most people would have been certain death.

"Time for round two it seems." The thrill of battle bleeds into her anger over what Captain Planet has done, a smile quirking on her laps at Captain Planet's seeming self-ressurection. "Can you hold him?" She calls out in Power Girl's direction, "If you can keep him in one place for just a little while, I will remove the souls he has taken."

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian stays hidden, phasing below the ground and following the SHIELD Agents as they advance. Of course the size of her bubble means she can project it from right up close to Gaia. "Switching to targetedoptical denial," she says brightly over the comms channel. Quite what that means the SHIELD Agents probably won't know. At least until it happens.

The bubble protecting the agents cuts out and instead she wraps Gaia up in a single hologram. From the outside she seems totally normal but on the inside? The entire world goes haywire. Up is down. Left is right. Everything spins like reality just got thrown into a washing machine. It doesn't hurt but the disconnect between the senses would make all but the strongest of stomachs churn.

And ominously the theme song from Jaws starts to play. Why? Because this is the moment the submerged Synthezoid strikes and Janet always says how important it is to make an entrance. Popping up from the ground behind Gaia and slugging her in the back of the head with a carefully controlled right hook.

It's terribly unsporting. But better than getting zapped like Scott did.

Doris Zuel has posed:
There's a blink at the situation, she looks up in time to see Power Girl simply wreck the guy in the sky but he seems like he might not be down. Meanwhile, there's someone blowing wind around? It's not really impressive wind, either. Doris is really beginning to feel under utilized. A part of her thinks back to the fight with the wolf previously. That was far more fun. She notes everyone scrambling below her though and finally just sighs and shakes her head.

"Enough!" Giganta calls out. She just grows to five hundred foot tall, stomps down right by the 'Gaia' woman and...then Vivian pops up and attempts to punch her in the back of the head. Giganta sucks in an annoyed breath and then rolls her eyes and looks around, "So, why am I here?" She asks of no one in particular and looks up in to the sky, "Anyone seen Captain Annoyance? Is he really destroyed? I want to hit someone or something." She crosses her arms and seems, well, not underwhelmed but certainly not whelmed either.

Karen Starr has posed:
Floating in the air, the drop in temperature sees some icy buildup on Karen's exposed arms, and her breath is visible before anyone else's, save possibly Johnny's. Fairly, it's really only going to be his body temperature that's higher than hers.

Having dusted Captain Planet, Karen's mood sours. She understands he's reforming, and so her attention turns to Johnny. "I know, but it IS getting us somewhere. If he's dealing with us doing this, then he's not threatening the bus. Getting them out of here is priority one. Can you take care of that?"

With a snap of her attention to Lady Death, Karen offers a nod, "When he's solid again I can keep him from moving, I think. Get ready."

It might be impromptu, and she's sure brusque about it, but it's a kind of plan.

Scott Lang has posed:
"Toxins," moans Scott as one agent remains with him shielded behind the landed Quinjet from the battle. The agent tries to shush him but the clarity of momentary unconsciousness had finally let Scott piece it together. He kept destroying those places cause they were hurting the planet. Planet. He was Captain Planet. It all made stupid sense. Weakly he reaches up and taps his comm. "Toxins. Pollution. You gotta, you gotta, get him dirty. Just try it," he rasps.

Meanwhile neither battle seems quite over yet. Gaia throws up her arms as Bobbi strikes first, more than one dart striking her before the winds shift into a sort of shield once more deflecting the other bolts. She tears out the ones in her arm, not sinking into unconsciousness but stumbling still, not entirely unaffected. "I, I will not be..." her words slurring and then becoming a confused groan as the world twists and spins around her, right before she's punched in the back of the head. She goes down and seems for a moment finished...only for a surge of elements to billow out around her in a bubble. Ice, fire, shards of sand, and yes electricity all pour from her frame as she stands back up with an enraged howl, likely knocking back all those close to her.

"You dare?! YOU DARE?!" her composure gone as she only then notices the shadow cast over her by the colossal Giganta. By now Gaia is too far gone to see the danger though. Attacked on HER island by these lowly mortals?! And one dares to loom over HER?! "DIE!" she shrieks, focusing her full attention on Giganta. Alas, whether it was her weakened state from expending all that power combined with drugs and head trauma, or the fact she simply wasn't on Captain Planet's level, the blast of lightning she unleashes at Giganta is more akin to a strong bugbite on the giantess's calf.

Meanwhile above Captain Planet doesn't intend to make things so easy, fully able to hear their plan despite not being fully formed. "Grab what solid?" mocks the Captain. Clouds that had begun to form again above to assist with the cold drop breakapart and the temperature surges...while Captain's icy body becomes instead water. He charges at Power-Girl but doesn't physically try to strike her, but rather lets her upper body be enveloped inside his watery chest, trying to drown her in mid-air as currents inside him try to force their way inside her nose and mouth. Well, at least he was holding still of a sort...

Johnny Storm has posed:
"Yeah." Johnny agrees, nodding at Karen. He figured anyone allowed to wear the red cape would have a good reason, but...

It's so weird, being one of the seniors on call. Johnny feels like he's missing something, and frowns despite all of the hoopla. "Why hasn't he blown up the bus, though. He just sucked up the first five like chicken nuggets, why keep a larder?"

Then Scott radios in, and Johnny snaps his fingers. "Of course!" He totally misses the impromptu Wet T-Shirt Contest, being so pleased with himself for Having An Idea. "Ha ha and they say I'm the dumb one."

Johnny flies over a few of the trees, and one of the broken hunks of something on the ground. He rips a fuel can out of the ruined cargo plane, and flies back in the air, soaking one of the giant, perfect looking palm trees with it. "Power Girl, can you lift this thing up and get it in his face?!" Johnny shouts, and then lights the tree on fire. "We're about to make this place a smoking friendly area!"

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi in the air is knocked back even. The agents are knocked back. The explosion of air and sand and energy. They scramble back behind their shields and Bobbi lands back inside Viv's field. "Well.. that briefly sort of worked. We need a better plan."

Which is when she hears over the comms.. toxins. "Toxins? Scott are you sure?" She makes a winding motion in the air, "All agents, disconnect the waste gathering containers from the quinjets. Those up the air might need them for Captain Aang the last Green Haired Bender."

<All participants in the sky, come get your toxins down by the quinjets> Bobbi says over comms. She moves quickly back to her quinjet and helps pop open the flooring to get access to the recycling systems. This stuff is unloaded and carefully processed and disposed of back at the Triskelion normally. She picks up a canister and flies back out toward Gaia, "Here's a little present from Ant-Man," she says and opens it, tossing the liquid gunky contents at her. "Viv, Giganta, All agents, fire now!"

Doris Zuel has posed:
"Oh for the love of..." Doris turns around in time to see this 'Gaia' throwing a tantrum or whatever. She glares down at this woman before she suddenly is hit by 'lightning' and lets out a wince and steps back, "You annoying little..." She then shakes her head, "That's it. Obviously you are tougher than I thought and ya know what? I'm done. I'm just done." She reaches down without missing a beat and goes to snatch Gaia up and then states, "I have been attacked by wolves, forced to deal with angry tentacle rabbits and nearly had my ear drums blown out by a dumbass with a giant shotgun!" She yells right at Gaia before she turns, twists her hips, throws her arm back and then, well, as the kids put it. Yeet.

It isn't clear how hard Gaia was thrown but it is clear that she won't be landing any time soon.

Vivian Vision has posed:
Vivian staggers back, as much in fear of more electricity coming her way as from the impact, her teeth gritted against the pain. Thankfully she hadn't phased when the blast hit her or else she'd have been in serious trouble! "I'll start looking for the kids," she says onto the communications channel. "I'm also uploading pictures of Gaia for any naval assets in the area and any law enforcement on the surrounding islands."

She doesn't want to think about the condition they'll find her in. She'll probably be eaten by those mullets Mister Storm was worried about.

With enhanced senses she starts looking for signs of the missing kids. Starting with the direction that Gaia came from and factoring in the location of the currently empty bus. Search pattern established she zips off at her hundred miles an hour top flight speed, phasing through trees and buildings rather than going around them.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl blinks a few times at her communicator. "Are you -kidding--" she manages to state, Johnny having already blazed off to make good on the weakness of the environmental hero. It was in that time that Planet reformed himself into water, and submerged Power Girl.

Within her watery confinement, Power Girl does not appear to be drowning. Instead, her expression shifts to a more than moderately unamused twist, her eye twitching just so. Standing there as the Captain tries to drown that which cannot currently be drowned, Karen raises an arm, extending it towards Lady Death, to invite her to continue her assault.

Her face like angry stone, Karen regards the offered burning tree from Johnny, to whom she shrugs. Her other arm emerges from the watery miser, and she takes hold of what she can, holding it out as instructed, clearly nonplussed at having to... Pollute an ecoterrorist.

To try- even though it may be futile- and stop the Captain from escaping, she exhales slowly, her breath freezing. She's only got the one lungful, but if he can be frozen in this state, it'll freeze at least some of him.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
Lady Death regards Captain Planet with an expression akin to 'is he that stupid?' as he seems to just stop moving for her in his attempt to drown Power Girl without even needing to be restrained, even before the ice breath.

There's no hesitation. She's fast, really fast. In the blink of an eye she has crossed the intervening distance to just behind Captain Planet. "Själsfrisättning." Lady Death shouts as she holds out an open hand towards Captain Planet and the fiery blue arcane energy that surrounds her reaches out even as similar energy seems to become visible upon Captain Planet and almost like she is physically grasping something, she closes her hand in the air and yanks it back into a fist with a sharp motion, like she is literally tearing something incorporeal out of the flying blue menace. "To prey upon innocent children, you are as vile as the worst of Hell's demons!"

Scott Lang has posed:
The toxins work of a sort on Gaia. Not that any normal human would appreciate being doused in the stuff either, but they probably wouldn't result in the immediate howls of pain and sizzling that erupts from Gaia. Just a nice slow steady disease. "You...you mortals! You think you can...I am LIFE!" she proudly states before a hand the size of a building engulfs her and about 6 feet worth of sand and dirt beneath her. Compacted in Doris's grip the immortal spirit of the Earth whimpers in pain as limbs bend in directions they were not designed for. Where had she gone wrong? Was it the soul-stealing? It's the last coherent though she'll have for a while before she's launched like a cannonshot from the muscular arm and goes barreling across the sea. Whether she was dead was another question entirely, but there was little doubt it would be a long time before she'd threaten anyone again.

Things are going no better for Captain Planet though. His smug watery smirk begins to falter as he realizes there's no struggling going on from the blonde trapped inside him. "Geeze lady, I know some women can go down for a long time without a breather but...aaaAAARGH!" he starts to scream in actual pain this time as Lady Death's spell takes hold. On his fingers are five rings, in watery form as well, but as Death's spell works each becomes solid and glowing. Those who had seen Captain Planet first form might recognize the colored beams of energy that swirl out from the rings and then blast towards the ground, each coalesing into a fully formed teenager.

"What are you...those are mine, they gave themselves to...no, stop," Captain Planet moans. Without the five powering him already he could feel his power cut in half. There would be no summoning hurricanes for him again and indeed he struggles to escape his own frame as Power-Girl freezes part of him, having to punch at his own body to crack it. He starts to fly back away from her and Johnny both, his body solidifying. The smoke was dense but the amount of coughing he was doing seemed very disproportionate. "Get, get it away from me!" he whines, turning tail and trying to flee.

Johnny Storm has posed:
This feels wrong. 'Lady Death' is going to let those kids go, right? They clearly got caught up in a cult and needed help and there's Giganta shotputting a woman. Johnny frowns a bit, focusing on protecting the carbon emission stick that seems to be working so well on Captain Planet.

"Let them go." Johnny says, and goes back to a direct fire blast at the Captain's chest. "Better to run away than risk whatever the pale chick's got planned for you, right? You knew this was going to go sour the second you stole a schoolbus anyway!"

Some flickers of white flame crackle around Johnny's red plasma form; he's not hot enough to approach Nova, but seems to be losing his cool, just a little bit. Or maybe he's just hoping to force Captain Planet into giving up instead of being ripped apart.

Vivian Vision has posed:
There aren't many places you can hide a bus full of kids on an island this size. And it doesn't take long before Vivian phases through the right wall and locates them inside a tropical cabana. A quick check for Planeteers or booby traps later and she calls in the location for SHIELD.

That done she sets to locating any of the kids who have urgent medical needs and carefully moving them closer to the exit so they can receive priority care.

The battle might be ongoing still, but her priority at least is in making sure none of the innocent victims are hurt rather than punishing those responsible.

Karen Starr has posed:
Power Girl isn't necessarily okay with what's going on. Karen doesn't entirely understand magic, and there are fewer that she trusts. She understands that there are a lot of shortcuts to some nasty fates, and nastier morals. She doesn't know this person, either- which means that, sadly, she trusts Lady Death less than she does John Constantine.

It's not a sentiment that can really be expressed in words, but she does do it with a mild glance, unknowingly sharing that sentiment with Johnny. "We'll be taking them back to their families." It's not exactly a hostile tone, but it does impart that she won't be tolerating any foul play.

Hard to take her seriously, though. Kryptonian fabric doesn't get too sheer when doused, and since Karen wasn't moving at any speed, the built-in circuitry didn't activate the field that keeps things out of her cleavage, so like it or not, she soggy kryptonian maiden is glistening well enough.

Tree still on fire, she calmly tosses it at the feet of the elemental villain. She takes in a breath and exhales softly, sending a blast of air at the flames and causing them to roar up, which engulfs Captain Planet in a plume of fresh, new smoke from the burning leaves.

Hope Svelgate has posed:
"Get out of here." Lady Death shouts at the reconstituted Planeteers. Perhaps surprisingly given the stories Johnny and others may have heard she makes no move to go after the children down below once they have been freed, rather she appears to be letting them go.

Though the same cannot be said for Captain Planet. Once the souls of the children have been freed from the twisted environmental entity, Lady Death no longer has any reason to hold back. "You are scum unworthy of life," She declares as her chaos-forged blade Apocalypse is held aloft and begins to glow orange with primal chaos energy drawn from the ends of infinity, mixing with her own blue energy arcane swirling through it, all channeled into a single sword stroke aimed at cleaving her enemy in twain, "Now die!"

Scott Lang has posed:
"I was right. I was riiiiiiiight," Scott happily whispers to himself as he lays on the beach with broken ribs and a hint of burnt flesh/chest hair. Best day ever truly.

Captain Planet's take on the day is decidedly different. He'd gone from what he thought was most powerful being on the planet to coughing on a beach, his mentor/creator flung out to sea like yet another discarded piece of litter. "Damn you, everything, everything I did was to help, all of us. You're killing, the planet," he whines as he falls on his side as the smoke and flame flares up around him making his eyes water. The color was fading, his bright blue flesh paling, his green mullet drooping and becoming a sickly color instead of fresh cut grass.

And then through the fire and smoke steps none other than Lady Death with sword raised high. As her sword cleaves down at him he brings his arms up to try and block it, but as the blade touches him his body glows one last time and bursts apart into five strands of multi-colored energy. Four of those strands zip back to the unconscious Planeteers and wind around their fingers. Fire, Earth, Water, Wind. One though, one doesn't make it. The pulsing strand of Heart, the soul of Captain Planet, it spirals and circles around Lady Death's sword and listening close one can almost hear a desperate pleading scream from the thin band of energy before it seems to get sucked into the blade becoming a part of its deathly glow.
