Checking On A Rumour
Date of Scene: 20 December 2020
Location: April's Apartment
Synopsis: Ivy heard about Sally and invites her to ask about the services she offers. Ultimately, as a scientist, it doesn't sit well with her.
Cast of Characters: Pamela Isley, Sally Houki

Pamela Isley has posed:
Little known fact, Ivy hasn't been seen in Gotham for a long time, because she's layed low with Harley in NYC. What's the best place to not raise suspicion, why April O'Neil's apartment of course. Why? Because reasons. Also, it just might be a multiverse nexus, ask your local dancing witch.

Ivy has invited Uncanny Sally for a meeting, namely to discuss a service she's heard Sally was offering.

Sally Houki has posed:
She's a somewhat confirmed rumor of the underworld, after all. Asking in the right circles can certainly get one a secured, proton email account that a line can be dropped to. An exchange of information on her serivce can be gleaned. A temporary, personal duplication. You, but *not* you. For a fee, of course.

That's how she's wound up at this address to make a house call. After a time, the door is knocked on. Politely. Dressed in a loudly colorful ensemble and with her hair done up in a bun beneath a cat-ears hat, she awaits her client opening her door, smoothing (very) lengthy, pink skirt.

Pamela Isley has posed:
The door is opened, not by Ivy, but rather by a helpful vine, as Ivy calls out to Sally, "oh, do come in, I'm just finishing making some herbal infusion," and not a moment later, Ivy walks out from the kitchen holding two mugs of what seems like tea, "would you care to try? It's quite healthy and revitalizes you."

Ivy moves to sit on the couch in the living room, setting the cups down on the coffee table, "please have a sit, and do tell me about that service you provide. I much rather hear of it in person."

Sally Houki has posed:
"Oh, that's *cool*," says Sally as the vine opens the door. "And refreshments! That's even better." She adjusts her cat-ears headband and proceeds to move inside, glancing back and forth and then having the indicated seat and mug.

"Of course. It's not as complicated as it sounds. I can temporarily create another version to you, from you. Like, copy into existence! Poof! Just like that, your mirror image will be standing beside you."

Pamela Isley has posed:
"You've an affinity for cats...?" Ivy asks Sally as she notes the peculiar headband she's wearing.

Taking a sip from her herbal infusion, Ivy looks skeptically at Sally, "...is that work you produce with science or some kind of magic...?"

Sally Houki has posed:
A sip of tea. "Oh, sure. I love cats. Do you have a cat?" She's looking around for the cat, because obviously, that MUST be what Ivy is talking about, not the cat headband she's wearing that she seems completely unaware of as a possible reason for the question.

"Science and magic, indistuingishable after a certain point, etcetera." She has a little sip of the tea. "Hey, this isn't bad! Anyway, no. It's just my unique thing. I mean, there are a very small number of associated risks and I'll go over those with you and you can decide if you still want to try it."

Tea sip.

Pamela Isley has posed:
Ivy gives Sally a thoughtful look, before quipping, "something of the sort."

"Yo, Ivy, that gal ain't all there, did you notice how she totally ignored you? Bwahahaha!" Comes a masculine voice from another room, which leads Ivy to grit her teeth, before looking back and snapping, "shut up, Frank! I'm having a meeting, and you don't get to interrupt when I'm in meetings, remember?"

Turning back to look at Sally as if nothing happened, Ivy mutters, "that's great an all, but DNA samples last forever. Imprint of cell structures doesn't fade...what assurances I have that if you use your power, I don't hear about stuff I've done all over the place, while all the while you're puppeteering?"

Sally Houki has posed:
"...GYAH," says Sally, nearly spilling her tea when the voice springs up out of the other room. "I thought we were alone?" She peers down that way. "Hi, whover's over there!" She turns back to IVy, clears her throat. "I mean, your duplicate will have your DNA, it's true, but I don't need your DNA to do what I do, if that's your concern. It's not rooted in DNA and I won't be asking for it or need it."

Pamela Isley has posed:
"We are," Ivy answers sharply, although the voice is heard once again, "Ives that's just r..." but before it can finish Ivy snaps, "Frank! Last warning!" She then listens for a response, before nodding in satisfaction when none comes.

"Don't encourage him!" Ivy snaps at Sally with a glower, and peers back at the door for the other room, "that's what I thought." She notes, before looking back at Sally, a helpful vine lifting her cup to her hand, "but once you do what you do..." she presses on as she takes another sip.

Sally Houki has posed:
"Then you'll have an active duplicate. It'll be you. It'll make its own decisions based on what you were thinking when you went into this. It's fully independent. I don't control it in any way beyond making it exist. It's you, but it's the you who might've had coffee this morning instead of tea. Two slightly, variant low-weight-in-the-grand-scheme-of-branching-realities versions of you in the same branch of reality." Sally gest up from the seat she took, stepping aside to gesture at ...

... Sally, who is still seated in the chair.

"I'm me," she says, gesturing at the her in the chair, "This is also me, but she decided to stay seated insntead of stand  The other Sally waves cheerfully from her seated position. "Hi!"

Pamela Isley has posed:
"I see," Ivy remarks quietly after she's drank the rest of her infusion, "in that case, I would like to thank you for your time, and of course, I expect discretion in all things. Good luck in your endeavors." Ivy notes as she gets up, "please make sure you pay attention to the Earth and all things green as you go about your daily grind."

Sally Houki has posed:
Sally Houki tilts her head, gesturing behind her as the version of her left behind vanishes suddenly.

"However you like it. If you decide you want my services, you know how to contact me." A nod.

"It was a pleasure to meet you."
