Synopsis: Jane comes to visit Daisy after she's returned from the Saudi Arabian heist. Turns out the mission took a toll on the young hacker. But chocolate has a way of at least solving some of the problems.
Cast of Characters: Daisy Johnson, Jane Foster

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's been a few days ago since the Saudi Arabia heist. They had got their objective, intel on a lead they have been following for weeks now. And while most of the intel was still being sifted through by Analysis Daisy was confined on the medical ward after having went overboard with her powers. Stopped a desert from swallowing the underground vault they assaulted or so the word went. Of course that it meant both her tech gloves and her wrists had suffered...

So she was laying down on a bed, her wrists wrapped up in gauze and she grumbling up at the nurses that went by. "I am fine, I don't need to be hand fed. I can manage.." of course that even attempting to lift those wrists hurt like well, it making her wince when she tries it. She shakes her head again.

"How long until I am here?" But no answers are coming yet. Whatever is wrong with her wrists, besides a possible fracture, is still early to determine.

Jane Foster has posed:
It's been a series of work and work some more, much of it engaged in a constellation of acronymed organizations backed by federal funding. With the skies aligning to the Christmas star in a way they haven't been in eight hundred years, Jane probably has run just about ragged. But something akin to "Daisy is hurt" or "Jemma is sick" propels her away from a stack of requests, the nagging indications shimmering around her wrist. Its weight is just part of her everyday activities.

The Triskelion directions to the medical areas are better labeled than some, and besides, it's not unfamiliar to Jane who descends at relative speed after exiting an elevator, slapping her badge in several places, and impatiently awaiting the scans of a retinal device at one point or another. She has a box under her arm, marked by a bakery's name, 'Patisserie' pretty clearly labelled. The nurse is spotted, the brunette after her.

"Oh, darn. Early," she says warmly.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's not like Daisy makes it easy on the nurses at SHIELD, and even with their high tolerance this one just leaves the food tray on the side with a sigh, smiles resignedly and says, "Seems like you got a visit. I will return later." to which Daisy replies. "Later Suze.."

And as the nurse leaves with a nod towards Jane Daisy lifts her arm up in greeting before wincing again. "Ngh.., this hurts as all hell.." and she does look rather beat and exhausted still. Whatever happened in that mission took a toll out of her. "Great place to be during christmas time, but that's how it is." her smile does get warmer though. "Been a while. Good to see you, Jane."

A look down at the box carried by Jane. "I can smell them from here already."

Jane Foster has posed:
High tolerance comes in the job description for a SHIELD nurse, doesn't it? Fortunately Jane has been dealing with nurses and doctors since she was knee-high to a grasshopper, and beaming a smile at the real forces in the medical field projects a real fondness. "I will make sure she says in one piece," she remarks, though /how/ she intends this is another matter. Possibly the box has something to do with it. "Thank you for keeping her in one piece."

Mostly one piece. The sympathetic look crossing her features leaves those great wide eyes of hers crinkled at the corners. "Here I thought I was the only one missing out on sleep. What have you managed to do to yourself? Am I going to have to write away about breaking you free for an hour to see the stars? You'll miss a Great Conjunction, which is every bit as stellar as it sounds." Bad pun! But she sets the box down, removing her mittens and stowing them in her pockets. "Is everything in check? I heard you were down here and felt it appropriate to bring a few various French goodies in case you needed a brightening up after being stuck in bed."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The talk about being in one piece has Daisy let out a chuckle. "Mostly.." she says in agreement, "Saudi Arabia mission.." she then explains. "Been tracking some shipments that we think are related to tech stolen from shield a while back. And a certain ambassador who may have ties to it. But long story short, the vault we were in had a kill switch to swallow it under the desert. I .., gave us enough time to escape." she sighs.. It had been a necessity, one she hadn't even thought of at the time and just went on without hesitation. For otherwise people would be dead, and she couldn't have that.

"I will still have to talk with Fitz and Jemma about repairing my gauntlets." clearly she wants to go back to the field asap! The talk about french goodies has her grinning. "French goodies is just what the doctor ordered. Let's look at those!" she says, gluttony on her eyes. And who wouldn't be a glutton after a day or two of hospital food?!

"I would certainly prefer to be out watching the starts than in *here*. I haven't seen you in so long that I imagine you must have been swamped. Come and sit, how have you been?"

Jane Foster has posed:
"Stolen tech sounds like a particularly troublesome situation. I hope we have it well in hand, especially given the chamber would have swallowed you up. I can't even imagine how horrendous that outcome would be." So there's no need to further traipse down that cold, dark and breathless road, Jane turns her attention to opening up the box and showing the contents to Daisy. "Pick your preference and I can get it cut up for you. Do you need help eating it? Trust me when I say it's not the first time helping, and I can patiently hold a bit of mistral on a fork until you demolish every crumb."

The lingering trace of a smile builds. "Beats soup, anyway. Jemma will no doubt have your gauntlets fixed up, and failing that, creating a better option for you. Just imagine, having something waterproof to 25 meters or able to convey your text messages, like those awful watches." Breaking into a laugh, she shakes her head. "This time of year has been hectic between all the astronomy programs, getting the television episodes recorded, and the mundane bits of my job. Atop that, I'm still working on perfecting the bridging technology to try and work out something finicky, but nothing certain -yet-."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I can do it." Daisy stubbornly says. No hand-feeding! So after a moment of looking into the contents of the box she chooses a round one and lifts one arm towards it. It's clear her fingers shake, and control isn't really there as she doesn't pick the evading sweet on a first try, only on a second. But it then just falls out of her hand and into the bed, having her curse and give up on it. "I am useless right now." she vents out. No powers, no possibility of working with her hands for hacking. Frustrating!

"I will accept your help.." she then resignedly says, letting out a sigh. "And you mean..., spy gauntlets? I mean, could work for sure. They are normally always there in missions. Just don't want them to get too bulky you know?"

"And look at you, being a star on all the tv shows." She grins but then there's a little glint on her eyes. "Sounds to me that you have a project going.." she says about that last part.

Jane Foster has posed:
"Don't strain yourself. Take it slow, then," insists Jane. The box has each of its pastries wrapped in a little crinkled paper wrapper, a neat nest for Daisy to select among with a pleasant rustle. Chocolate, shavings of coconut, and a few glossy shimmers of berries all mean to entice. "You are never useless, don't think so. Being without the ability to rattle every enemy under the sun hardly changes how strategic and smart you are." A tap of her finger against her temple gives a hollow little sound. Reaching out to pick up the pastry, she procures a clean napkin to scoop it up. Forks and knives, of course plastic, are all that one needs to break it in pieces.

"Spy gauntlets. You could absolutely conceal them and when they come out at the press of a ... watch or something, you can feel just like Agent Double-Oh-Nine or something." The mischievous smile widens. "Something light and sleek? You should be dictating style and engineering notes for Fitz. It only serves him right. I promise, it'll entertain Jemma."

At the reference to the TV show, she shrugs a little and smiles. "I'm always popular this time of year. Everyone looks up when it is cold and dark outside, whereas you can party in the summer. All right, open up and I promise to do this with /some/ dignity."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Oh .., I certainly have Fitz's ear now ..." Daisy says with a small grin, raising her head up as if to whisper in a conspiratory manner, "Kitkats. Or other manners of food. They work wonders with him." even more than the other half of FitzSimmons. Clearly the way to a man's heart is through the stomach!

"But first things first..., right now I need to get out of here first before we can think about that.." She watches as Jane gets the coconut pastry up and breaks it up, "Thanks .." she whispers. But it's clear she doesn't like being dependent. Too many years relying on her lonesome out in the streets!

"We will totally have to go do some star watching soon then. If we can drag you away from those shows though!" But at the part about dignity she laughs. "No pics please..." and she leans in to take a bite out of the pastry. Begone foul taste of hospital food!

Jane Foster has posed:
Knowledge tucked away; it's dangerous enough with someone of Jane's means and intellect to know about the chocolate problems. That said, she warmly nods, and offers a forkful of pastry for whenever Daisy might want to bite. Nothing odd about it, though it's not as if she plans on making airplane noises or causing discomfort for the agent beyond what the med area is already going to bring. "It's good to know. I have to wonder if coming in with British chocolates works on Jemma. Cadbury, I suspect, the real stuff. Yorkie bars aren't for girls, they say, but..."

Wheels turn as she listens, and then taps on the fork lightly to free a bit of coconuttery into the napkin below. "You are going to have to tell me more about the excitement. Being surrounded by superheroes and knights and you definitely leave me with a high bar to follow!"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's almost as if Daisy could be reading her thoughts. She does say in warning. "No airplane noises.." it's mostly a tease though, she then snatching the pastry with her mouth and chewing on it slowly, mmmhmmm'ing at the taste and closing her eyes. "Ah..., a little bit of paradise in these otherwise steel walls." she says, "It might work.." about the Jemma-chocolates. "A taste of home is always a good thing. She is always reminding us of her origins, might as well bring her origins to her this time!"

"And well, about the excitement... Might be a little while until the intel is decoded to use. But hopefully soon. And then it's time to act.." clearly she doesn't think she will be bed-bound for long. "I am sure your expertise will be welcome in that." then a laugh. "And there's no high bar, we all do what we have to.." she letting out a sigh. "Life was a lot simpler when I was just the nerd hacker trainee with no powers and little shield training.."

Jane Foster has posed:
"Solemnly swear I shall offer none. I get up to no good in other ways," Jane assures Daisy in that tone breaching almost English in accent. She knows her Harry Potter business. "Believe me, Mom always made sure that I knew how to have good bedside manner. Treat people as intelligent adults, fully prepared to make decisions on their own." She gives her head a little shake, braid swaying down her back, and turns to pick another slice of the pastry up for Daisy's enjoyment. Her friend deserves only the best. "You know, we need to check on Jemma and find out what she has planned for dinner. I can probably figure out a figgy pudding that wouldn't kill us all."

Her eyes close for a moment as she breaks into a smile, attention /clearly/ not in the moment. Stilled for a few moments, she blinks and then smiles again. "Life was simple when you were a hacker, but life is more interesting now isn't it? I hope to get my own crack at thrills and excitement, but we don't need to rush."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Totally more interesting now. I wouldn't trade it for the world.. Just ..., sometimes it feels it was a completely different life you know? I was someone else entirely different." Daisy replies, finishing that poor pastry with relish and now that she's appeased she relaxes back on the bed. "You already are having a crack at thrills and excitement though, don't count yourself short." she tells the other member of the Furiae.

"Where were you just now?" She then finally asks, having noted that momentary shift on Jane's attention, her tone curious. It's not the first time it has happened afterall!

Jane Foster has posed:
"More interesting indeed. I feel the way that goes, especially when the moments of normalcy break through. You know, being neophyte astronomer or hacker is perfectly acceptable as a starting point. But looking back, after all that's happened... You are right. We are completely different people. You more than me, I think, but still significant." Jane breaks into a smile. "Having a crack at this stuff provides an outstanding impression of just how out of my league I might be, though. You ever realise how crazy some of your missions -are-?"

Her gaze returns to Daisy's, clear as the summer sky, and traced by a faint and warm smile. "Me? I was just thinking about what Christmas will be like."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Hmph.." Clearly Daisy isn't convinced about Jane's response. But fiiiine! Not that she can even boop her friend in the nose for it right now. So she just lies there in bed and shakes her head, "Something else. But fine, I will extricate answers out of you another time." a grin.

"Well, SHIELD missions are crazy .., it's what we do. As for being out of your league .., bah, we are part of a team, we all have our roles." a beat, "And you an important part of SHIELD, no matter what you may think.." There. Daisy wisdom.

"Thank you for having come to visit though. As for the pastries.. Worry not, I can assure you they will have the same destination as the last one I ate."
