Date of Scene: 21 December 2020
Location: Upstairs - Red Cave
Synopsis: Stephanie brings some coffee by the Red Cave
Cast of Characters: Stephanie Brown, Jason Todd

Stephanie Brown has posed:
The door of The Compact opens up and Stephanie Brown climbs out of it, her movement a bit slower and more careful than normal. The small purple car is parked on 14th street a few spaces down from the alley that dead ends at a garage. Stephanie is wearing boots and blue jeans, her top covered up by a heavy jacket. A heavy jacket because it's COLD out.

The winter storm blew in to blanket the area with heavy snowfall. Which tends to put a big dent in Gotham's crime rate, one of the few things that provides the city's heroes with a little reprieve. This particular hero pulls out a cup-holding tray with two cups in it, and a small brown paper bag from the car, before bumping the door with her behind to close it securely.

She walks slowly down the alley to the garage, at one point her boots sliding on the ice, though she manages to navigate it without needing to wave her arms for balance. She glances at the garage, with a layer of snow on the roof, and icicles. Gotham's usual lair of grit is covered by the snow which is still white, and falling in great fluffy flakes that are starting to dust Stephanie's bare head. "Looks kind of serene like this," she says as she finally hits the buzzer on the door.

Jason Todd has posed:
At this point the buzzer might as well be for show with all the security Jason's set up in the alley way, before most people get close to the buzzer he has a picture and a notification popping up on his phone. He's definitely done some upgrades since the owls trashed the place.

"Come in, I'm upstairs," Jason calls through the intercom as the door buzzes open. And true to his word that's where he is, upstairs in the living room dressed in red hoodie and jeans, greeting "Hey Blondie, what's up?" when Steph makes her entrance.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown knocks her boots against a step to help dislodge some ice and snow, and then steps inside and removes them, leaving them there by the door. Though with a softly uttered, "If I get tetanus in here..." as she does so.

The trip up the stairs is taken a little slowly, but the college girl emerges at the top eventually. "Hey," she says, her cheeks a little rosy just from the walk down the alley. "So I was sitting in my apartment by myself, kind of miserable. And I said to myself, if I'm going to be miserable I should probably go spread that on to someone else," she says, and then bats her eyes as if to make up for saying she came over to make Jason miserable.

"Well, that," she says, and then hefts the cup carrier and the bag to draw attention to them as she grins, "And I thought coffee and some krullers sounded good. This a good time?" she asks.

Jason Todd has posed:
Jason snorts "Thanks for that," he says of spreading the feeling miserable around. "And I was going to say no it wasn't a good time until you mentioned coffee and krullers," he shifts over on the couch and nods at the space he vacated. "Sit your ass down and spread some misery."

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie passes the cup holder over to Jason, and uses the hand freed up to unzip her winter jacket and shrug out of it. She's wearing a sweater black and grey striped sweater beneath, and pushes up the sleeves just a bit as she moves over to take a seat on the couch.

"See, that's the secret to a happy life, I figure," Stephanie says. "Don't rely on personality to be wanted. Rely on sweet baked goods," she says with an affirming nod and self-deprecating grin.

She opens up the bag and pulls out a box which she sets on the coffee table and opens up. The krullers are fresh-baked and the smell is delicious even before the box is opened to reveal them. "Help yourself," she says as she moves to turn a little bit more on her side to face Jason. As she does, he might catch the little bit of a wince that passes through her during that moment of her torso twisting slightly.

Jason Todd has posed:
"Good philosophy," Jason smirks as he helps himself to the pastry and a cup of hot coffee. "But seriously why the care package or is this my Christmas present this year?" he asks before taking another bite. "Not that I'm complaining."

He notices the wince and raises a brow. "You okay?" he asks before taking another bite of kruller.

Stephanie Brown has posed:
Stephanie Brown gives a little dismissive wave about if this is Jason's Christmas present. "What, this? I'd never give just krullers for a Christmas present. I mean, maybe a bear claw. If you'd been particularly good. But you'd at least get something with filling," she tells him.

Stephanie makes a gesture with her hands as if she's not sure herself. "I don't know. Things are quiet at campus with people gone for Christmas. I just was kind of getting stir crazy. Not that we hang out much, but I figured, I'd not seen your digs here. And maybe you could use a little holiday cheer. Or something."

At the question about if she's ok, Stephanie just gives a small wince and then answers him simply and quietly. "Bane," she says. She gives a little shake of her head. "I'm kind of bruised to hell and back," she tells him. "Thank goodness for it being time for long-sleeved tops and pants."
