Synopsis: Kitty stops by Piotr's to see a few of his latest paintings.
Cast of Characters: Piotr Rasputin, Kitty Pryde

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr is at the easel. He has a few sketches and rough paintings leaning here and there but nothing quite is capturing what he wants it would seem. The figure he is currently working on is a woman although it is actually well done, he seems less than satisfied with the work.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde drops off Lockheed in her room, leaving him for a nap after a particularly hearty meal by the dragon. He can eat far more than most people would imagine. She closes the door quietly and then debates where to go. Seeing a sliver of light down the hallway from a familiar room where she's spent a lot of time during her days here, Kitty wanders down to where Piotr's door is ajar.

She leans against the doorframe, not saying anything as she watches him at the easel, holding his pallet and not seeming very content with the results judging from his expression. "Not working out how you want?" Kitty asks to announce her presence. Once Piotr has turned to see her, she'll step inside unless his look is unwelcome, sliding the door closed behind her.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Kitty is always welcome in his room. "No it is not." he responds as he rises then, moving to the side the painting. "She looks too...stiff lacking the fire I was hoping to capture." he explains with an exhale. "How are you Kitty?"

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves over to stand behind and to the side of Piotr to look at the painting. "I'd say it looks lovely, but you have such a better eye for art than I do," she tells him. Kitty's hand moves to rest on the back of Piotr's shoulder without her really thinking about it, the movement something old and once familiar that just happens on its own before Kitty realizes it. She pulls her hand back after a moment, covering it by asking, "Have you been finding time to do a lot of painting? I haven't seen you much since the holiday break started. I figured you might have buried yourself in this," she says.

The young woman glances around the room. Much of it unchanged since she left Xavier's at 16 to go pursue a degree in the UK, where she and others founded the Excalibur superhero group during her time there.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr Rasputin smiles, "Not as much as I would like." he admits, "But I am trying...its a good way to releieve stress and dive into passions, yeah?" he grins then and shrugs. "But its been hard to find the time, the focus."

He turns then to look over to Kitty, a smile on his features that only spreads as he gazes on her, a familiar filling welling inside.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty is admiring the painting again. "There's always an... an inspiration in seeing your paintings, that I'd never get out of something I tried," she says. She's not a horrible artist compared to an average person on the street, probably even above average. But it's never been anything near the calling for her that it is for Piotr.

The young woman looks away from the canvas and over to Piotr, seeing his smile. It brings up a smile of her own, and makes her pull her eyes away from him for a moment, looking around the room. She goes over to where a few other stretched canvases are leaning against one another against a wall. Looking at each painting they contain in turn. She picks up one that has a landscape of a forest with a flowered meadow in front of it. "I like this. Any particular location that inspired it? Somewhere around here, or back home in Russia?" she inquires.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr Rasputin watches her move about his room, interest that he cant help. The paintings cover all sorts of subjects some that even look familiar like perhaps inspired by fellow X-Men.

"Yes." he says of the landscape, "A meadow

"Yes." he says of the landscape, "A meadow that was not far from my home when I was a child...perhaps romanticized a bit but...that is what memory and time does."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty stands admiring the painting. Taking her time as her eyes discover one new thing after another about it to appreciate. The way a flower is brought to life with such conservative strokes of the brush. The branches of the trees that have the feel of a myriad of leaves creating the patterns of sunlight on the flora beneath.

She smiles as she puts it back and then takes another out. Crimson flares around a hazy, indistinct figure, a slash of red crossing the canvas and banishing the deep blues and greys of a foggy night, boiling them away. "I can guess who this one is," she says with a warm laugh, replacing it in the leaning stack of Piotr's artwork.
