Ruth Aldine has posed:
It was well into the afternoon, while most of the kids went to their original homes for break as well as some of the staff, the usual hanger-ons or not-wanteds wandered the halls or sometimes messed off in the busy streets of New York City just to kill and pass time.

Ruth was one of those, most of the time she would use her allowance to buy something to eat, or happen at a certain place at a certain time to do whatever needed to be done, and back home before dark to feed or make sure that her dog, MacTaggert, was taken care of.

But high into the afternoon it was, and no prospects in sight. She didn't want to call Mystique to bug her for some cash, so it was time for her to do the one thing most people would probably either scream and run away from, or rush to her aid in doing.

Cook.

Today's menu? Tacos. Seasoned with the taco bell seasoning, jars of salsa and packets of cheese lay along the counter. She wasn't a hard shell girl today, all soft, waiting on various plates as the freshly plopped hamburger meat was put into the pan with a high sizzle.

"Yes MacTaggert. I have to cook the meat, sorry, so I do not get sick. Yes." She says to the dog, who's large, rotweiler head tilts back and forth, clearly engrossed in what she was saying.

Simon Lasker has posed:
Simon Lasker heads down to the kitchen. He doesn't have any particular idea about what he wants to ruin his apettite with at the moment. For some reason he feels like some greasy food would hit the spot right about now, but obviously nothing like that lasts long in the X-Fridge.

*Sizzle*

Oh hey someone is cooking. He wondered if his stomach could see the future sometimes. Simon did know /how/ to cook, but only as a last resort, so it was like a delayed christmas miracle to run across someone doing it already. Mooching time!

"Sweet, its food flavored food-- my favorite!"

He looks at her and attempts to gauge if she is expecting him to pitch in at all.

Simon is one of the people who she might have seen around despite never seeing him in class. He was definitely the delinquent type, and also the type that thought he was too cool for school -- although its not like there are a whole lot of other places for mutants to stay.

Ruth Aldine has posed:
There really wasn't any help needed or required. Ruth had everything well in hand; the handle of the pan was gripped as well as the spatula to chop up the meat. All of the vegetables and cheese were already shredded, pre-bought that way, mostly because the students are often times in a rush or fussy about anything gourmet.

"No." Ruth says to Simon, indicating the gauge.

Her blindfold tight against her eyes, ruana tucked along her shoulders and underneath her arms, she looks as if she were to have movie night and a good cry all by herself.

"Yes. Sit. I will be done soon, Simon. Thank you." Ruth, was odd. She was hardly ever noticed nor seen unless she really wanted to be, but then, she'd say something awkward and disappear within the crowds, often forgotten.

Simon Lasker has posed:
It is kind of hard to disappear into the crowd when that crowd is one dog.

Simon was wearing his /casual/ black leather jacket. It was considerably softer, wrinklier and more scuffed than his formal black leather jacket or his going out black leather jacket.

"No, Wha--? Oh you're a telepath.

"So, how is the whole school thing treating you?" He personally thought school was boring, but this was a home for mutants. You could count on someone actually liking something as boring as school. "Learn about any exciting new atrocities in history class?" That IS what that class was about right?

Simon hadn't thought about school in a long time. One of the benefits of going to work. He felt bad for Ruth. She looked like either she was depressed or about to do tarot readings at a fair, and he couldn't decide which was sadder.
