Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Daisy Johnson

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt was heading back to the Guest House from the cave moving quietly until he's far enough away to look innocent, there he pulls back his hood and sticks his hands in his pockets. Nothing to see here, just a guest on a stroll. He walks casually while he tries to commit what he sensed and heard to memory.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The Inhumans down at the caves didn't take long to part, going their way and back to their own resting houses to spend the night. A quietness has fallen on the settlement, in these moments it very much appearing like the idyllic place it was promised to be. Most are sleeping in their houses, some occupied in more ..., passionate manners. Another house where people are still up and talking, a proud father talking to his wife about his son having taken his first steps today... With those attuned senses Matt can certainly get a very good idea of the place, the people, and those that live in it while making his way back..

Matt is making his way down a path, past a couple of houses when one of the doors opens. Almost as if whoever is in there already expected him to go down that path. (Or maybe it's just a very unlikely coincidence!)

"Good evening, all-seeing one." it's a quiet voice, the frame of the woman near the door being petite even if something appears just a touch off in it. "Did you like what you see?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt stops short when he's addressed head turning in the direction of the voice. "Think you've got the wrong guy, I don't see that well, let alone all," he says not going for the full blind act because he left his cane behind."Have a good night though." He keeps walking trying not to quicken his pace. If he was blown he wanted to report in before the Inhumans came looking for him.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"We all have many ways to see. Sometimes it's those more .., overlooked.., who can see much further than the others." Is there perhaps a touch of bitterness there? Matt can detect the alteration on her tone even if she does attempt to hide it.., and she does appear good in it.

The figure steps out of the house when Matt continues to walk, closing the door behind her, "I am not going to tell what you were doing tonight, do not worry." She says placing some emphasis in it, "This place, you have seen enough to know this will not end well. For us, and for you, haven't you?" She questions.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt studies the woman with his senses, getting an image of a humanoid covered in thorns, the faint smell of blood on her suggested she was not immune to their points. He kept a close hold on his sympathy for now though, this was a dangerous place, he couldn't afford to drop his guard. He keeps walking until she says what she thinks he's seen. He turns then, unfocused eyes cast downwards a little to avoid them being seen. "I don't know what you're talking about," he lies, keeping up that wall of denial that years of being a lawyer had trained to become a reflex. However she wasn't wrong, and his steps closer to her, clearly taking her words seriously despite his denials.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Indeed you don't. Not yet at least." Reina says in agreement to Matt, letting out a faint sigh. A life spent lying and manipulating others both with her silver tongue and her looks, promising fortune and worlds when it was all a lie. And now that she actually had the gift, but not the looks, rarely anyone believed her. It was all very ironic to her, and also left her *very* upset with her *gift*.

"You have come here not for yourself, but for someone else, haven't you?" She asks, thoughtful. "You do not have the gift yourself.."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt's head tilts considering the woman a little closer now. If he hadn't followed Jaiying and th others since the moment they left the guest house he'd have thought she would have heard it from them, but he had, leaving how she knew what she knew a mystery. "I'm here for another," he confirms. "I'm curious how you know all that? Can you read minds?" If so he was likely in a lot of trouble.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Maybe." And Reina can't hide some faint amusement under her tone. "In the past many told me that, before my .., transformation." she touching one of the spikes in her face, "It's as if you can read my mind, Reina.." but then she is shaking her head, "No, I do not read minds." she assures Matt.

"I have ways of knowing what has yet to pass, even if as a curse rarely anyone believes me.." she murmurs. The curse part *might* just be a bit more of her bitterness. But who knows? Inhuman powers work in strange ways...

"You can see so much, but what will you do with it all?" She muses, "Who will you choose to side with? Your heart, your mind? What you believe is right?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt frowns at Reina's words even as he focuses down to study her heartbeat as she talks seeking signs of deception. He walks toward Riena and her house and sits down on the steps, his back to her, a sign of trust, even if his senses gave him as clear a view behind as it did in front. "You're the seer, don't you know which side I choose already?" a deflection meant to buy more time to consider this woman and her words.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The heartbeat on the woman is just a touch accelerated.. Fervorous belief on what she is saying? Or perhaps not revealing all there is to it. Still, she does seem to believe what she is saying, eyes following the man when he sits by the steps, "Even this talk, it can change what will happen." she murmurs before taking in a breath, resigned, "Or perhaps it will lead exactly to what I have seen. Such is the gift I have received." she pauses for a moment after it, considering, "But in all the nightmares I have had one thing is set in stone. This, this will not last.."

She looks around briefly and then back to the blind man, "Many will die, trampled under the greed of the metal men. That much is inevitable." a pause before she adds, "I have seen glimpses of the earth shattering, of a levelled mountain. Grief clouding judgement. In this, perhaps you will have a word in. But who knows? In some ways perhaps I am just as blind as you." she sounding just faintly amused now.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt frowns a little at the inconclusive response from listening to Reina's heart, but then whatever changes she went through to get her 'gift' were extensive and so he'd had doubts to how like a human heart hers would beat anyhow. "You mean Afterlife?" he asks about the thing that will not last. "And who are the metal men?" he asks curiosity mixed with concern on his features.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"The screams I hear every night are familiar." As if it confirmed it was indeed Afterlife that Reina is talking about, "But don't bother trying to convince the others about this. They do not believe what I say." she murmurs, "... the sins I did while I was still human were .., many." clearly some history behind those spines.

The question about the metal men is received with a small shrug. "I hear Shield has learned of this place." is that what she means? That they are the metal men? But her heart spikes a touch. Perhaps she is not being entirely truthful, or there's more to it. "Regardless, I know this will be the beginning of something much, much larger. Those that have been hiding will rise again." she shakes her head and then looks back to her place.

"Now go, they will start worrying if you delay long."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The little spike of the heartbeat is enough to make Matt suspicious but the rest pings true to his senses. "Do you know when it will happen?" he asks as he gets up from the steps making ready to leave. "And what's coming after it?" for what it's worth he seems to take her seriously even if it's clear by his body language he doesn't quite trust her motives.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The woman reaches up as if to comb her hair but instead Reina just seems to get a prick on her fingertips, frowning. She looks down at her bloodied finger as if considering it, "No, I do not. I get no dates but ..., I know it would happen when you got here. The Destroyer, the Combiner and you.." she pointing her bloodied finger at Matt, " ..., the Balance. It is strange, even now I look at you and I remember a song on a rooftop." whatever she could be refering to? Past? Future?

She walks to the door of her house, opening it, "After it. I only see darkness." her tone and overall posture appearing of someone resigned to her fate.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
There's a little flinch as Reina pricks her finger, "Are you okay?" he asks with genuine sympathy. He remembered when his own powers caused him endless pain and horror.

He shifts to consider her words as she points that bloody finger at him. "Which one is which?" he asks of the Destroyer and the Combiner. "And why those names?" though from what he's heard said he can make a guess. Though that all is put aside at the mention of the song. "I remember that, helping Daisy with her powers," he tells her, before he moves to put a hand on her shoulder before she enters her home. "If there's a way to change that, Reina, I will," he says of the darkness that seemed to be waiting for her. "There's always hope."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
A somewhat odd, faint smile curls up on the edges of her lips, glancing over a shoulder at the hand being placed there. The attempt at cheering her some appears to be taken as pity, within a furiousness that threatens to overwhelm her before she quiets down a few moments later. "This will all depend.., if you are ready to do what you must. That which you do not want to." a pause, "You know what I speak of." is she talking about killing someone?

Her tone appears to have shifted just a touch, gentler, almost as if she understood what Matt is going through, what decisions he has ahead of him. Inside? She is utterly calm, void of emotion. "But don't worry, you will survive. For black skies await to betray you all you believed in."

Resentment appears to seep inside her, maybe she didn't intend to say those last things, or maybe she is just making it all up to hurt the man. Still, it was an odd choice of words. But then she steps into her home, closing the door behind her.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Frowning Matt shakes his head. "If you're talking about killing, I won't do it, but we'll find some other way," he tells her earnestly. "But I need more infor-" the words black skies shuts him up though. "The Black Sky? You can see where it is?" he asks stepping forward to jam his foot in the door to keep the conversation going. "What do you know?"

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The foot in the door has Reina bristling, her eyes widening. Clearly this is not the wise, calm seer that one reads in the stories. All full of wisdom and gentle smiles. No, not that kind indeed. "I cannot." she replies, her voice a hiss, but att least she appears to be telling the truth, "Yet you are doing the wrong questions. You are looking for a thing when you should be looking for someone. But I do not know more. I only see death and darkness surrounding them."

Eyes stray down to that foot and she warns the man, "I only have to scream and the others will be here. You don't really want to be found out here at night, do you?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"A person?" Matt asks. That changes things. He pulls the foot from the door. "Thank you for what you shared with me, Reina. And I meant what I said if there's a way to help you besides killing, I'll do it."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Reina's gaze stays down on the floor after Matt takes the foot away, silent for a moment before she speaks up. "I know." yet there is no hope in her voice. Perhaps it's just what she expected Matt's answer would be. Rooted in his principles.

Still, just before she closes the door she says in a lower tone. "Thank you for listening." and that seems important to her. But then the door closes, and Matt is left out in the dark, silence again abating upon the settlement.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt looks ready to offer counter to the lack of hope in Reina's voice but he's learning better than to argue. "We'll see," he settles on before letting her close the door before he turns to go back to the Guest House and tell the others everything he's learned tonight. Even if he hasn't made sense of it all himself.
