Creating A Little Happiness
Date of Scene: 24 January 2021
Location: Recreation Room
Synopsis: Kitty shoots pool while she and Piotr chat about events.
Cast of Characters: Kitty Pryde, Piotr Rasputin

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty Pryde is in the rec room, standing with a pool cue that she's applying chalk to as she looks at the layout of balls on the table. The geometry puzzle that is pool isn't the difficult part. Mapping out where each ball will go if hit at a certain angle. It's actually hitting it at that perfect angle that you intended that is where most of the work is at for Kitty.

She leans over, lining up a shot. She hits the cue ball into the two ball, which goes in the pocket. The cue has backspin and it retreats from the contact, but goes further than Kitty wanted. "Darn it," she says, and goes and gets the two ball from the pocket, replacing it, and moving the cue back to try it again.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
The door opens and Piotr pauses and glances around for a moment, "Ah, hello Kitty." he greets with a smile. "praciticing your pool game?" he states the obvious as he heads further inside heading over towards the window on the back wall to check outside to see if there is anything going on as he turns then back to her with a smile.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty looks up, and seeing Piotr she gives him a big smile. "Hey Pete," she says. "Yes. Just never seem to manage quite the finesse I'd like. It's one of those things I know what needs to be done, but I just can't seem to get the execution of it just right, you know?" she says.

She lines up on the cue again. Taking the shot and sinking the two again. This time the cue rolls back and stops where it gives a pretty nice angle on the five ball for the side pocket. "Better," she says with a grin.

She looks over to Piotr. "What've you been up to?" she asks him.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Me? Very little..." Piotr admits with a smile on his fatures as he watches her shot. "I've been doing a little here and there around the school, but nothing I would call exciting." he explains with a shrug.

"I know precisely what you mean. I've never been good at pool, I always hit it too hard or too soft...never just right."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty takes a shot on the five, knocking it in and then walking around the table as she views her options. She stops over near Piotr and reaches over to give his upper arm a squeeze if he lets her. "Too hard I'm guessing, Muscles," she tells him with a grin before focusing back on the table, continuing around it and examining some angles to try to figure out where to leave the cue ball next.

"Finished up my project at Fisk Enterprises," she tells him. "Still working at JVD Fashion. I might see if they have more work after this one. I really like working there. And Janet van Dyne is great to have as a boss. High energy, but good with her people," she says. Kitty leans down to line up another shot. "Been staying in the city a bit more of late."

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
He shrugs when she mentions too hard calling him muscles, "It is my nature yeah?" he says with a grin. He circles the table away from her to the other side when she begins to examine her possible shots.

"I noticed the absence..." he pauses and then says, "Not that I've been...paying special attention." he clears his throat and changes the subject a bit. "I'm glad you have enjoyed the work, it is good for us to be happy in work and life."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty stops to chalk up the tip of the cue stick again. Not that it needs it, but it is more of a delay while she considers saying something. She and Piotr hadn't really reconnected after she came back from two years in England. Not in the way that most probably expected they would. But that doesn't change their past, or that Kitty always views him in a special light.

Which is what gives her pause, but also what makes her to decide to mention, "Yes, sort of had some things happen lately that were a little unexpected," she tells Piotr. "Had been spending some time with Warren. And, well, we've started seeing each other," she tells him. "I figured, people are probably going to start noticing if they haven't, and... I just wanted you to hear it from me first," she tells Piotr. Kitty looks down, then back up at Piotr.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
Piotr Rasputin nods a bit, smiling just slightly, perhaps forced but in the end it /feels/ genuine. "Kitty..." he pauses, takes a breath. "I am thankful for you telling me...as long as you are happy, I am happy. You will always be a good friend, yes? Yes." he says with a nod. "Do not worry about my feelings...I promise."

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty smiles back to Piotr, and leans over to take another shot. It sends the balls bouncing around the table and then she straightens up and walks around the table, though looking to Piotr rather than at where the balls ended up.

The brunette gives the older Russian a soft, warm smile, and goes up on her toes to kiss his cheek. "Thank you, Pete," she tells him. And it shows in her eyes that it means a lot to her that he's ok with it. "I want the best for you as well," she tells him with a smile, hand on his arm for a moment and squeezing it before she moves away, over to the pool table again.

Instead of taking another shot, Kitty sets the cue down on the table. "What do you say we go make a couple of milk shakes?" she asks him.

Piotr Rasputin has posed:
"Milk shake?" Piotr says with a chuckle, "Any chance we have those little wafer cookie things to put in them?" he wonders gesturing with his fingers the size of the cookies. "I always enjoy those." he admits.

"Lead the way Kitty, I think a milkshake might do my soul good...sometimes food is for sustenance, sometimes its just to create happiness." he decides with a nod as he moves to the door but pauses, ladies first of course.

Kitty Pryde has posed:
Kitty groans at the notion of putting vanilla wavers in milk shakes, but nods. "I'm sure we've got some," she tells Piotr. She dusts her hands off, and wipes them on the back of her jeans, having had some chalk on them to help the pool cue slide more easily on her hand.

Kitty walks over and slips a hand into the crook of Piotr's arm, the silent gesture a reassurance their friendship isn't going to change. "Yes, time for creating a little happiness," she agrees as they head for the kitchen.
