Iceberg Night
Date of Scene: 31 January 2021
Location: Iceberg Lounge
Synopsis: Late, late night. Selina drops by the Iceberg Lounge when Cole seems to be the only guy at the bar that is not (too) drunk yet.
Cast of Characters: Cole Cash, Selina Kyle

Cole Cash has posed:
It has been a rather busy Saturday evening at the Iceberg lounge. Gotham winter nights are hellish, but Gothamites have a weird sense of humor, or maybe a weird way of living. They come to the ice-themed club, run by a shady maybe (allegedly) crimeboss and manage to have a good time.

But now it is well past midnight and the place is clearing. By the bar remain only a few drunks, slowly being escorted out to the nearby cab stop by the club staff. And a tall blond man in rumpled clothes, which seems not to be drunk despite a couple hours of nearly continuous drinking. Cole Cash at his workspace. Actually, he had a couple productive meetings. Now, he is just trying to swindle the bartender.

Selina Kyle has posed:
It's a good night for a drink, and the Iceburg is always fun for dressing up as the Cat without a second glance from law abiding citizens. She slides in with a yawn, clearly a productive day for the Cat burglar who wants nothing more than to relax and chill out. Too bad that big burly drunk guy who sits next to her at the bar is about to give her trouble, by the leering glazed eye looks he gives her.

"Hey babe, feelin' lucky tonight?" he gives her a toothy grin, reeking of too much alcohol and cigarettes. Catwoman groans and rolls her eyes, choosing to ignore him for now as she orders a glass of wine.

Cole Cash has posed:
Cole has been in Gotham for a year (on off) and he is vaguely aware the Penguin allows for some masks to hang out. Just that he had not seen any yet. He is good at /not/ staring too, although the Cat almost makes him stare.

Instead he lets the bartender 'win'. He will pay half his tab tonight. In cash; which means a lot of crumpled bills. The bartender looks ecstatic; almost sure he will get a raise for this feat. (He won't).

"But get the lady what she asked already, Harry," he adds as final condition.

Selina Kyle has posed:
"Hey bitch! I'm talkin to ya! How dare ya ignore me!" Sutherland massive drunken thug snarls, climbing to his feet, muscular and some 6'4 in solid height, snarling down at her. "Ignore me again an' I won't feel so generous!" he practically slurs his words.

But Catwoman is tired and not in the mood for entertaining thugs tonight. "Back off, punk, I'm not interested." she waves a dismissive hand at him, unimpressed by his massive form as she awaits her drink.

She arches a brow at Cole and smirks, "Thanks. Guess there are some people with manners at least." once her drink is mixed she hands over the cash and takes a long sip.

Cole Cash has posed:
"Not me, I just play the part," replies Cole with a friendly smile. "Hey, Harry, where are the bouncers?" The bartender shrugs, glancing outside. Because the bouncers are actually bouncing some rowdy tourists by the gates, and not one of them is close to the bar right now.

"Right," mutters Cole. "But last time I got involved Cobblepot didn't let me back for two months," but this time it might be worth it. His hand goes for the half-full bottle of bourbon in front of him, but bartender Harry is faster. "Nonono, it don't do it it," he protests in a quiet, panicky voice.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle arches a brow at big and ugly, nodding to Cole and the bartender, "They're right, it's not worth it. How about you leave quietly before he runs his bouncers on you?" well. They seem busy at the moment, but..

"I'll smash ya!" the thug roars, climbing to his feet, reaching down to grab Catwoman by the scruff, but she is too fast, slipping easily out of his grasp. Of course it would be sooo satisfying to twist his arm, break a bone or two, but Cats kinda likes this place and would rather not cause trouble. So she is careful not to hit back, just slipping gracefully out of his way as he tries to punch her again, his fists slamming instead into the bar counter. She is definitely buying those bouncers some time!

"Where you aiming at, big guy?" Cole and the bartender are given a playful wink as she slides back on to her barstool, barely breaking a sweat.

Cole Cash has posed:
"I am not going to kill him or anything," protests Cole. The bartender looks utterly unconvinced, though. "She is Catwoman, man," explains Harry. "She can handle that guy and five like him."

Cole releases the bottle. "Oh, okay," he looks a little dubious, but replies the wink with a lopsided grin. The thug likely broke a finger hitting the bar, but he is too drunk to notice. That is one of the dangers of drunks, they keep coming when sober people would rethink their life choices.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle just smiles sweetly up at big guy, crossing her legs as she takes another delicate sip of her wine. "Really, this game is getting old. Why dont you be a good boy and leave while you still can?" But the thug is not about to be shamed in front of a girl. he roars and charges her again.

This time Catwoman grapples the attack, not so much attacking as facilitating his forward momentum, grabbing one arm as it co,es at her, redirecting it from her face into the barstool as she swiftly twirls off of it. The end result sees the thug's face slamming into the bar, drawing some blood. Now technically Catwoman didn't land a punch, just stepped out of his way and redirected the blow.

Fortunately the bouncers are now heading his way, ignoring his trail of profanities.

Cole Cash has posed:
Cole grins again, slow-clapping. "Such a clumsy guy, he fell down and hit his face on the bar, did you see?" Beat, "it must have left a dent," he adds. Which makes Harry whine. He will have to explain said dent to his boss.

"Do you want something stronger than wine?" He offers the woman. "I still have half a bottle of bourbon here. Top self." Well, almost. But the bartender doesn't correct him.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle gives a sweeping bow as the bouncers carry the angry drunken thug away. "Why thank you. Bourbon sounds delightful.." she shrugs, "Sorry about the dent. Just glad you two enjoyed the show." she practically purrs and winks again at Cole, "Don't think I caught your name, sir.."

Cole Cash has posed:
"Cash, Cole Cash," he gestures Harry to bring another glass for Selina. "And more ice," his has all melted. "And you are Catwoman, hmm? I had heard of you, of course. Didn't expect to see you a place so public. I guess you are friends with Cobblepot?" He also assumes she is waiting for someone, unlikely a woman like her is here alone. But he won't let that stop him.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle smiles and shrugs, offering him a delicate if gloved hand. At least the claws are sheathed. "A pleasure to meet you Mr. Cole. Do you frequent this place often?" as for Cobblepot, she shrugs, "Mm I know him personally. We aren't exactly..In bed with each other." Catwoman smiles, a playful twinkle in her eye, "But it seems my reputation precedes me." no introduction needed, clearly.

Cole Cash has posed:
Cole grins and takes the offered hand briefly. "Here? No. This place is too neat and too well lit for me. Just sometimes business meetings requires fancy places, you know what I mean."

He taps the bottle. "Booze is good, though. That is something," a small concession to the bartender. He might be a little drunk, but he keeps control much better than most. "What about you?"

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle chuckles, her voice like delicate wind chimes. "I see. You have a point there of course. Not always the best place to be, depending on what that..Business might be.." she does arch a curious brow at him on that note, but says nothing more, not wanting to push the subject. Catwoman takes a moment to sip her wine before answering, "I do whatever needs to get done. Depending on my mood. Sometimes I'm here for business, sometimes play, whatever strikes my fancy." she smiles sweetly at that.

Cole Cash has posed:
"Oh, you know," Cole handwaves vaguely. "Finding people, losing people. Finding things, losing things. Whatever needs to get done and pays the rent." He doesn't sounds as successful as Selina, whatever he does.

"I am from Chicago, just a year in Gotham," he explains. Or rather, does that explain anything? He has a faint mid-west accent. "What mood are you today?"

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle arches a brow, "Ohh, I see. Sounds..Fun." she grins, "Mercenary of sorts?" as for herself, Cats shrugs, "Chicago hmm? How are you liking Gotham so far? Charming place isn't it.." she smirks and may be sarcastic. As for her mood, she chuckles and shrugs, "Gotta say I'm feeling a bit..Playful tonight..Although big and ugly was sure fun play to with." she licks her lips.

Cole Cash has posed:
"Sometimes fun," admits Cole. Nod to the mercenary question. "Some gunsmithing too, if you need something unique." Oh huh, she is feeling playful. He might have too much alcohol to handle her. "Gotham is better than some places," beat, "well, some places I have seen abroad. Not many places. But some. It is also the right place for me right now. So, I can't complain."

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle smiles sweetly, "Ooh gunsmithing? Cant say I've ever really been comfy with guns, but might be fun.." she takes a pint her long sip of her drink and at least seems to hold her alcohol pretty well. "Glad to hear it. Gotham can have its dark corners, but it has its own charm too.." she smiles, eyes glittering as she leans forward a bit, see I g to size him up. "Soo..Care to dance?" she holds up a finger, "Just one song. I'm sure you have places to go." another playful wink.

Cole Cash has posed:
"Best offer in the whole night," replies Cole, finishing his glass. "And nowhere to go, although I suspect we are going to get kicked out soon, it is getting late." More like it is getting early. But it is winter; dawn is still a few hours away.

He stands up, somehow managing not too wobble. Thirty years of practice at heavy drinking do earn a guy some useful skills.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle laughs as she takes his hand and leads him to the dance floor, "Of course!" she winks, "Consider yourself lucky, not everyone has the honour of dancing with the Catwoman. Although I wonder if you're as talented on the floor." as for the hour, she just shrugs, "Are you in a hurry? I certainly lay am not. I'm sure we have time for at least one dance, hmm?" why, it's almost a challenge. It's not like Catwoman cares much for rules anyway.

Cole Cash has posed:
"I can dance a bit," huffs Cole. Actually, he is good (when he has not been drinking all night). He still prefers to be underestimated by people he doesn't know much, particularly dangerous people, so the general idea is doing just okay. "Lead on, feline one," he states, offering the woman his arm.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle smirks and nods, taking his arm as they step onto the floor. The current song is a smooth rock ballad, perfect for a slow dance and Catwoman positions herself for a simple rhumba step, resting her right hand on his shoulder while clasping his left hand in hers, easily falling into the rhythm of the sing as if she spies this all the time. "Soo, what do you think of the iceberg so far?"

Cole Cash has posed:
"Place looks more Metro than Gotham," points out Cole, letting Selina take the lead on the dance. "Company is rarely this good, to be honest," he adds with an amused grin. Of course the Iceberg is a gangster central, although the Penguin has rules to keep the place peaceful and the tourists happy.

"Mean. I do business here, I wouldn't like to live here," he explains in a rather nosense explaining. "What about you? You seem to own the place, the way you go."

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle shrugs and smiles, pulling in close, twirling and pulling away again. Every move graceful, playful, casual. "I come here often enough that I know everyone and everyone knows me. As for Gotham, it can have its dark spaces but it's the only home I've ever known. I suppose the iceburg is my playground, although I suppose it's never good to mix business with pleasure. But sometimes they overlap nonetheless." she quirks a curious brow at him, "You said your in the business of..Finding things?"

Cole Cash has posed:
"Sure, sometimes," replies Cole, distracted by Selina's dexterity. She sure can dance, and for a second he wishes he was a little less drunk to follow her better. "Remind me to give you my card before we leave," he does have a 'security company' thing. Only slightly illegal, as it is a ghost company owned by some corporation in the Jersey Islands. Hey, it is not as if he can pay taxes anyway.

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle smiles and nods, "Ooh, sounds mysterious and exciting. I'd love to take your card. Who knows, we might find ourselves looking for the same thing sometime, but hopefully not on opposite sides." another innocent smile. "Although I'd really like to try out some new places, get in some travelling. Sometimes Gotham can get a bit too..lDark. Especially in the winter time. Any suggestions?"

Cole Cash has posed:
"Anywhere else in the world," replies Cole with another smirk. "No, seriously? Maybe try New Orleans. Fun city, good food. Slightly less murdery than Gotham." At least it is lawless enough for Cole to like it.

"Here," he slides a card on the sleeve of her glove. Because he is unable to see any pocket in that cat outfit. The song ends, and he finishes twirling her with a flourish. "Time to go, I think."

Selina Kyle has posed:
Selina Kyle smiles and nods, glancing at the card. "Nice. New Orleans, hmm? Might check it out." she song ends and she pulls away, offering him a polite curtsey. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Mr. Cash. I'm sure we will cross paths again.."

Cole Cash has posed:
Cole offers a bow in response. "Pleasure all mine," as for crossing paths again, chances are it won't be as friends, so he is not sure if he wants it. "Take care, Ms. Cat. Call me if you need to find someone, hmm?" He heads towards the door.
