- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen has been working at the zoo for a few months now, and there are not a lot of others willing to work the night shift in Gotham Zoon. So most nights he is left alone, tonight more so, as the other guy who is supposed to be covering called in sick. Bart had taken care of the cleaning and was board. Which brings him back to the Outsider HQ in his uniform looking for Phoebe.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe, as of late, was only ever in four places -- the roof top, her room, the training area, or the medbay, studying. The latter of the four was where she currently was, eating some sort of microwavable vegetarian corn-and-cauli-nuggets in the shape of various dinosaurs, watching a surgery on her phone.
"Look at them just push the aorta out of the way..." she mumbles to herself.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen spots her, and comes to a stop in front of her and looks at her a moment, and what she is watching "Ewww." He says a bit at the video. And yes he plans on being a Vet. He will look at her, and says "Grab your coat, need your help with something, might be best to wear all black, but not the costume." HE tells her
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"What ar eyou talking about 'eeew'?" Phoebe states, trying to cover up the fact that Bart took her by surprise, and then she blinks at his command. Her head tilts a moment, and her lips purse.
"Gimmie five. "
Five minutes on the dot later, she's pulling on her leather jacket and a dark beanie over her bantu knots, wearing a black sweater and dark jeans. She doesn't actually own a lot of black.
"So, are we breaking into someplace?" she questions curiously, pulling a pair of gloves on.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen holds up his hand and says "Sorta kinda, but I have the key." He scoops her up, and off they go, through the streets of Gotham at speeds they are just a blur to others. ONce Bart comes to a stop, they are standing in front of a large board with a map of the zoo on it "So, where should we start? He asks her and then is off, and back with a wheel barrel with lots of fruits and veggies in it.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Technically is it breaking in if you have a k--" is all the Medbay hears before Balm is lifted and carried off. In spite of the fact that she figures Impulse has a good grip on her, she still holds onto him tightly, her knees folding and feet curling under his arm before she's set down in front of the Zoo map.
"... oh.. I didn't.. Bart you could get into so much trouble!" she protests quietly, her eyes going wide. "... are we feeding them tonight?!"
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "The Nocturnal ones at least. Joe, the guy who is supposed to be here tonight is out sick. Which gives me full run of the zoo. Mind you it could be a ploy for Penguin, or Croc or someone to try to break in, but Joe, seems like a decent fellow I don't think he would do that. I promised you you would get to see some of the animals, and thought tonight would be a good night.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Well then, it's a good thing you have one of Gotham's Finest young heroes here to help, in case that should happen." Phoebe gives a wink to Bart, and then she takes a deep breath. "Well, lead the way! I'll dow hat I can to help, as long as you don't mind me slowing you up."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen chuckles and says "I aint got anything I have to do tonight, and I actually like taking time to spend with the animals. He will lead her into a fake cave area, and inside it your walking under a fences in area. Above you there can be heard screetching and flapping of wings. Bart zooms off and is back, with a wire cage like a bird cage, but much finer wire nesh around it. Inside seems to be lots of flying bugs. He offers you a pair of goggles already having a set on his for head. "Start off with one of the popular exhibits that most people don't get to see at the height of it's time.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"/Bats/?" Phoebe asks, pulling her beanie down a little bit more, but she accepts the wire cage, looking up into the darkness, and she even reaches to adjust her vision -- forgetting these aren't her domino.
"Are these brown bats?"
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "In the main area yea, but we have a few smaller areas for other types, fruit and vampires, and even a couple flying foxes. The goggles switch is on the side, should let ya see some better, not as good as out work clothes, but it works. If you take the cage here." He shows her where "And push the green button, it takes the bugs in there and releases them into the are for them.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The young woman gives a bright grin, and then she switches on the goggles. "Yeah... our work ones are better than this." she comments quietly, and then opens the mesh cage full of bugs, ready for the flapping and echolocation of all the bats!
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks over and says "We can't handle them, as need a whole lot of shots to work with them, and then try to make sure almost in clean suits, don't want the bats getting sick from us. They even use little robots to clean the poo things. And don't worry the area right above the path has a glass pane above the wire so no poo falls on the people.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Guano great idea." Phoebe smiles, watching the bats above. "... you know, appropriate, breaking into the zoo and the first thing I see are bats." she smiles, leaning lightly against Bart as she looks up, through the glass pane.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen chuckles a bit and says "Well it is Gotham, so figured might as well, go with part of what got us to meet sorta." He grins and lets her look for a moment, and then leads her to feed the other types of bats in the exhibit as well.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Brown bats, and little fruit bats, and the vampire bats (which Phoebe stays a little bit back from, perhaps a little afraid of them!), but the giant flying foxes?
Phoebe's holding up a bit of banana, when one lands on her arm, and procedes to hang out there, nomming away on the banana. Bad Flying Fox!

Bart Allen chuckles a bit and says "These guys are like flying puppies, they love attention and any fruit we give them. Seems they are a bit more used to people and can be around them, Bart gives one some scritching along it's back.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
The bat happily continues nomming on banana as he gets pettings, and then hops off, once the banana is mostly finished and flaps back off into the night, with Phoebe having the BIGGEST grin on her face.
"That's amazing!" she breathes out.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen smiles and says "Want to go to the primate exhibit next? I think you might like the Aye-aye." He offers the name of one of them she might not know. He does take a moment making sure everything is secure before they leave the area.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"An Aye-aye?" Phoebe pauses, and she tilts her head back. "I don't recall that one... but I've not been to the zoo in a /long/ time." she replies to Bart, and begins on her way.
"I appreciate this. THere's another press conference coming up this week. They might raise the reward on me."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "You should just say your willing to meet them, but want your own genetic testing, and have wayne tech do it." He offers her. - Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I don't have the kind of sway to get /Wayne Tech/ to do anything. And it looks kinda funny if Tim does it." the girl replies quietly, and she pauses at the exibit, and the odd, brown-eyed creature with its long fingers.
"... oh my gosh, you're an opossum on crack. I love you." she breathes out.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen chuckles a bit and will show her how to feed the little guy "With the publicity it has gotten just asking for them to do it could explain it, as would be a good publicity things for them as well. Thats Charlie." He tells her the name of the one she is feeding.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Hiya, Charlie, you're a good little fella, huh?" she coos to the aye-aye, giving him tasty things to eat.
"It might be moot. Technically, my guardianship already changed hands to them. Thanks, Gotham Court System." she murmurs quietly.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen hmms and says "Well, if you prove they are not your parents?" He hmms, and will take her through feeding all the night time primates, and letting her see some of the sleeping larger ones.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"I don't know." Phoebe admits, wrapping her arms around herself. "Diana's got her own trouble right now. I don't think..." she trails off a moment, looking at the sleeping great primates, passing by windows a moment.
"... I remember being very sad for the gorillas as I passed through here as a kid. It was raining pretty hard, and they didn't want to go outside."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, a bit and says "We try to make sure they have a good life, people try to take care of them a lot more now than they used to." He will take her towards the herd and grazer types. He zooms off and is back with a couple fresh apples "Ok Geoffrey here always stays up till I come feed him some apples."
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe stares off as the herd, watching a couple of antelope lope through the snow before retreating back to the bunker and away from the cold, and she pauses, lifting her eyebrows.
"Geoffrey?" she questions softly, and gives a smile. "You made a friend, huh?"
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, a bit and leads her into one of the barn type places, and inside is a youngish giraffe "This is Geoffrey." He tells her, and upon seeing Bart the giraffe comes over to the area and leans it's head down towards the two.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Pheobe pauses. Her eyes light up, and for that moment, all the grief and stress leaves her face.
"Oh, aren't you /beautiful/?" she asks of the youngish giraffe, and she follows Bart in, bouncing a little bit.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen gives her one of the apples, and says "Geoffrey, this is Phoebe she is going to give you your apples tonight." He reaches up to pet the muzzle of the creature, and guides it gently towards Phoebe.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe bites her lower lips a moment, and she takes one of the apples, and holds it up towards Geoffrey. She gives a smile, her other hand reaching to gently stroke against the giraffe's cheek. Of course, being that close, her aura is kicked on, and she's giddily breathing gently in awe.
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen smiles and the giraffe seems happy and eats, hungrily getting her hand a bit slobbery perhaps, but seems to like her and the food.
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Geoffrey would get little, light pets.
And Phoebe's eyes well up in tears. She's holding the apple as the black tongue gets her hand all slobbery, and she breathes out softly.
"Oh, Bart, this is... this is the greatest thing..."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen looks to her, and says "Once we get all the stuff sorted out, and you can be out and about as yourself again, I will put in a good word if you want to do some volunter work here."
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
Phoebe breathes out, and she wipes her hand on her jacket before she wipes her eyes. "S-sure, sounds great, Bart." she replies, her voice a little thick before she turns back to him. "... thank you."
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen smiles and says "Hey what are friends for. You up for feeding some that eat meat, we can't pet as many of them though but get to see them up close at least."
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
"Heh, I'm not sure if I could do so many of them..." Phoebe gives a smile rubs the back of her head. "Ah... would it be okay if I just sat and hung out with Geoffrey?"
- Bart Allen has posed:
Bart Allen nods, and says "Yea should be ok, but don't give him more than 3 apples, he will beg, but don't want to upset his stomach." and with that he is off for 30 min or so letting the young lady bond with the giraffe,
- Phoebe Beacon has posed:
And Phoebe is left there, sorely tempted to try and make like a Gotham villain and kidnap a giraffe from the zoo... but decides that slowly feeding him apples and petting him will be enough. After all, she's tresspassing something terrible now!
