Return of the Shredder: Kainashi's Report

Synopsis:	Kainashi reports to Alopex what the Foot were doing in Brooklyn. Part of the Return of the Shredder arc

Kainashi has posed:
    A week or so back, Kainashi had arrived at the Mall. She reeked of blood. She had blood on her hands and staining her fur as she made her way into the mall. Heartrate elevated, her temperature up, mouth dry and tongue cottony, and she was soaking wet from the rain.

    "Pex! /ALOPEX/!" she bellows, her voice ringing through the empty mall like an iron bell as she bolts for Alopex's area, tripping over a skateboard and skidding along the tile floor like the mess she appears to be.

Alopex has posed:
    All of that, plus the alarmed call for the fox, basically meant she'd drop whatever she's doing and go find out what in the world is going on. Turns out that Alopex arrives at the tail end of Kai's slide for homebase.. which ended up being a bench very close by. Safe?

    The other mutant arrives, with water, which is offered as she asks, "Are you alright? What happened?"

Kainashi has posed:
    "Alo-pex -- Foot... bird... thing... Spider--" she stammers and then she takes a deeeeeeeeeep breath, and rolls onto her back, looking up at Alopex.

    "The foot are up to something. They stole a doctor. They almost killed three men on a rooftop. THey went into the Sewers. I tried to track them the best I could... but the trail ran cold too quickly." she comments, and then brings her hands up to her face, covering her eyes as if trying to remember.

    "They had a bird-man-thing with them. It was a big bird-man-thing. But didn't smell like one of us. I couldn't smell it right. It's like trying to touch something oily but it was a /smell/ and I couldn't get the smell of blood out of my nose. I'm so sorry, Pex!"

Alopex has posed:
Blink. That's a lot to take in. "Okay, slow down," she says, offering the canteen as she listens. "... Um.. hrm... wait why are you sorry? You did what you could, Kai. Be proud of that, okay?" The water will be held out until taken. Drink up, pup. The fox is clearly trying to digest everything that's been said. Though something sounds familiar about her description. .. Could it..? "... Tengu..? Are they using Tengu..?" she wonders aloud, though mostly to herself.

Kainashi has posed:
    Kainashi accepts the water, and takes a deep breath, and she breathes out as she sits up.

    "Tengu! That's the word they used!" she states, and shebows her head slightly "Had a big nose that pointed downwards and was all weird looking like this." she explains, and then she straightens up. "Ballista, a... a spider-person like Spider-Man named Mmmaaania? Manic? They were both there. We fought off the Foot as long as we could until the police arrived. I made sure they got out safely." she states, and then takes a breath "And then went into the sewers to see if I could... if I could track the Foot down. With the doctor."

Alopex has posed:
     Hrm. That doesn't make much sense at all. "What in the world would they do with a doctor, they should have their own.." she muses, taking a seat on that bench that's oh-so-close by. The fox offers a hand up and over if needed as she considers it all. "They .. they're up to something, and I don't like it, Kai.." she finally says, meaning to say it just the same. "Maybe I can reach out, tap a resource or two, see what we can find out. Maybe see if Ballista had a different view on it all.."

Kainashi has posed:
    "... yeah, they're up to something." Kainashi confirms quietly, and she looks down.

    "There were a lot of Foot Soldiers. There were a lot of people that got hurt, Pex. I tried my best to track them down, but... they must have known about me. Maybe. I dunno. I feel like I failed."

Alopex has posed:
    "That's the thing, though. There's a lot of them, and only a few of us. We can only save so many, help so many, and sometimes we can't be there for everyone. We just do what we can.." The fox muses, reaching over to reassure. "We'll figure out what they are up to. For sure. And then we will absolutley put a stop to it. We just.. have to figure out what that is.."

Kainashi has posed:
    "... what if we can't, Alopex?" the scarred canine asks, turning her gaze to the white Fox. She is actually frightened, and voulnerable, something she doesn't often show. "What if we can't, and something really bad happens, and you get hurt? Or... are gone?"

Alopex has posed:
    Ouf. Just what happened out there? "Hey now. We got this. We have a lot of friends to help us out when we're a bit over our heads. Sally's great, Ballista.... well, we'll see about them, and I have a couple other strings I can pull when I really need to. Just keep that in mind. Plus, the Foot has been on the ropes since they lost their leader, and a few of their stronger members. We -will- take care of this, one way or another. And me? ... I'm not going -anywhere-. "

Kainashi has posed:
    "Promise?" Kainashi asks of Alopex, and then she holds out her hand, extending her pinky finger, slightly crooked. "Because I'm going to hold you to it, Pex." she states with an air of finality and seriousness, breathing out as she looks to the 'big sister' in their relationship.

Alopex has posed:
    She can't help it. She can try to be stoic all she wants, but this kind of thing could melt the ninth circle of hell. "Of course, I promise," she eventually replies with a soft smile, extending the same digit to hook against Kai's. "I'm not. Going. Anywhere."

Kainashi has posed:
    Kainashi's eyes light up, and a smile spreads on her scarred-up face as Alopex hooks the finger, and she gives it a shake.

    "Good. I'm holding you tot hat, 'Pex." she states quietly, then hops up on the bench, pulling her legs up.

    "So, what's the plan?"

Alopex has posed:
    The smile holds until Kai asks her question. Pex's face turns thoughtful, then, "Well, the plan is... first..." she gives the pup a nudge in the shoulder, "To get you cleaned up, then food, and then, well, we will figure it out after that."

Kainashi has posed:
    Kainashi gives a little embarrassed smile at the nudge, and she gives a little laugh, rubbing the back of her shoulder a moment as she looks down.

    "... yeah.... blood-covered is not a good look on me."
