Synopsis: No description
Cast of Characters: James Rhodes, Phil Coulson

James Rhodes has posed:
James Rhodes has asked for a meeting with Phil Coulson, something about possibilities of helping out with what they might be up to. He arrives by car, his own, personal car it looks like. It's no classic muscle car, just a regular Toyota Camry. Dependable, safe, quiet. He gives his name, and then a quiet thank you to the guard who recognizes him, and drives towards the Tirskelion. After parking in front of the edifice of the SHIELD building, he climbs out of his car, and takes a look up at it.

The man also known as War Machine looks around for a moment, as if unsure if he is supposed to ring a bell, or go inside, or...just wait. He's content to wait for a few moments he looks like, glancing at the be-suited individuals that cross his path going about their business. He is dressed casually, jeans, t-shirt, sneakers. He stands out a bit compared to the professionals going back and forth. One of the few times he wishes he was still in uniform.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Stepping out of the building, Coulson looks around briefly, before he sees the visitor. Stepping over towards the man, he offers a nod and a half-smile. "Welcome to the Triskelion," he offers. "How can I help you?"

James Rhodes has posed:
Being an Avenger has some perks, one of which is you get to meet with Captain America's biggest fan whenever you might want. "Director, thank you for meeting me. Cap says hello." And buttering him up can't hurt. "I'm not quite sure. Think I'm lookin for a job. Or, a change of pace. Or...something." He frowns a little bit as he considers, and then is suddenly acutely aware of people in the vicinity, "You want to..head inside? Talk in your office? Or..take a drive or something?"

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson nods as he hears that. "Always got time to meet one of the Avengers," he replies, before he adds, "I hope everything's well." He nods a bit as he hears the rest of what's said, and looks inside. "Sure. Office works well," he replies.

James Rhodes has posed:
"Things are fine. The Avengers are great." Rhodey starts, as he walks along with Phil towards his office. He elaborates for a bit on how great things are, "Tony is in a good place right now, he and Pepper are starting to settle in it seems. The Avengers haven't had TOO much to do lately...though...I just lost Scott Lang, but that's another story, and really things are fine. Just feels like, I'm missing something."

As they round the corner to Phil's office he continues, "I was a full bird Colonel, probably could have pinned a star in the Marines had I stuck it out for a couple more years. But, I didn't. And now life feels a little structureless, you know?" he asks, seeing if Phil has experienced this sort of professional malaise that he is suffering from.

Phil Coulson has posed:
"Oh?" Phil offers to the part about having lost Scott Lang, nodding as he hears that it's a different story. Opening the office door as they reach it, he nods at Rhodey's words. "You're hoping we could help add some of that missing structure?" he offers, gesturing over towards the chairs by his desk. "Have a seat."

James Rhodes has posed:
"I mean, he can shrink to the size of an ant. Or, smaller. I don't know really. We went on a mission together, he got knocked out, and shrank down. Thought he died but...PymTech hasn't been able to track him either so...who knows where he's gone. He'll turn up next week at a burrito place in Wyoming or something." Rhodey explains with a slow shrug. "But, that's part of why I'm here, yeah."

"Structure is good, but...Ant Man...I mean. Good enough guy. Usually. Pretty dedicated to the mission. But, he's not SHIELD. He's not USMC. Or JSOC. Or..you name it. He's a civilian. A powered one, sure, but a civilian. And I flew him in one of your QuinnJets to fight an elder god that was attacking Pearl Harbor last week. That's on me." He walks inside and slides into one of the chairs. "I guess, I just...when I go on a mission I want to know that the people I'm with are professionals. You know? Not saying I want to join SHIELD full time, maybe, but that's a longer discussion and will lead to Tony trying to figure out a way to bill you for hours I use the suit probably, but maybe a consultant role? Maybe more than that? Less? Just on call for when you need air and fire support? What is it I could do to help you, here?" he asks. Clearly this is an idea that he is struggling with.

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson nods again as he hears that. "Hopefully he'll turn up again soon," he offers to the part about Lang, before he nodds again as he hears the rest. "I'm fairly certain there we could find a use for someone of your skills. I mean, we have operations ranging from ones needing firepower and the direct approach to the more stealthy approach, after all." There's a brief grin at the talk about Tony trying to figure out a way to bill them for the hours. "Now why wouldn't him finding a way to bill us surprise me?" It's offered a bit lightly.

James Rhodes has posed:
"He's barely making a dime with Stark Industries, he just needs one more line of income." Rhodey says with a straight face, before he grins and says, "I mean, I love Tony. He's my best friend. I put my body on the line for him constantly, but...you have to be delicate with hiw you arrange things like this. He's a bit fragile." He then adds, "I'm not much of a spy, but if you need someone to drop a ton of munitions on a target, or act as crowd control, or just provide a military perspective to the organization, I'm your guy."

Phil Coulson has posed:
Phil Coulson grins, "Probably why he's the businessman, right?" He nods again as he hears he rest about Tony Stark. "Some people are like that," he replies, with a smile, before he adds, "Noone can deny he is brilliant, though." As the talk turns to Rhodey's skill set, he nods. "We have a few of those kinds of situations too, of course, especially with all these evil twins of people going around, I suppose."

James Rhodes has posed:
"I'd heard about that....well, read it in a briefing." He's ex-military, but, an Avenger and there are some documents that filter from one to the other. "You're starting A.R.M.O.R. to deal with it? I dunno if I'd be a fit there, but, really, anywhere you'd like me to help out I am here for it." Rhodey says, before he stands up, "Anything you need me to fill out? Paperwork? Get a retnia scan? Sign up for the softball team?"

Phil Coulson has posed:
"I hear the softball team always complains about needing more players," Phil replies, before he grins, "And I'm sure that even if A.R.M.O.R. might not be a fit, they could appreciate the assistance at times. Some of those we've had to bring in have been rather challenging." There's a few moments, and he gets out some papers. "There's some paperwork, of course." There always is, right?

James Rhodes has posed:
There always, always is. Rhodey looks at it, and seems to be suffering flashbacks of the admin work he had to do in the military. He sighs quietly, takes the stack, and starts reading.
