Paige Guthrie has posed:
It's mid-afternoon and Paige is out of the last round of her classes. As a Senior in nearly all AP courses, she only has half-days as most of her time is now filled with projects instead of homework. Thus, she gets some perks such as using the gym at three in the afternoon where others may have a few final periods. The second eldest Guthrie is currently in a pair of workout shorts and a baggy top and sneakers, throwing combinations into a punching bag in front of her.

With wrapped hands, she jabs, bobs, then throws another hard curving right into the 'gut' of the bag, causing it to rattle and thump as she moves. Now accepted into the X-Men's training program, she is going full throttle on her training, absorbing anything and everything up like a sponge.

In the background is a radio playing Robyn's - Dancing On My Own, an upbeat popsong of broken hearts and lost loves. It was a banger in the early two-thousands and still quite popular on most stations these days.

With a final trio of hard kicks into the bag, she takes a moment to breathe, reaching for her water bottle to snag a few sips from it.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto is just taking it easy today after hanging out late into the morning with a group of friends. Having slept a bit and showered, he slips into a simple black t-shirt, basketball shorts and cross-trainer sneakers to hit the gym. Even after a rough night he seems none the worse for wear as he moves into the gym and smiles at spotting Paige.

Making his way over he watches her work then approaches as she breaks, offering her a wave. "Hey hey. Working hard?" Moving to the bag he gives it a playful kick. "Where's your big bro? Isn't today..." Trailing off he looks around then laughs. "An important day?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Oh, hey Berto. Yup, today is Sam's birthday. Ah' think he may be out doing somethin' with his girlfriend though." Paige says as she gives a long stretch of her body upwards to crack her back, then swivels her hips side to side to loosen herself up. "Ah'm just finishing up some training, then gonna hit the treadmill. What about you?" She asks as she gives a glance at his apparel. "Yah' looking to work out or just showing off?"

Her lips curve upwards into a bit of a grin before taking another sip of her water, then puts it back down into her bag before making her way over to the running machines. "Ah' think he and I are gonna get dinner later if yah' wanted to join, unless you and him already got big plans ta' do boy stuff. He's twenty-one now, can finally order his first legal beer."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Laughing softly as Roberto catches the bag on its return swing from his kick he nods at Paige. "Yeah I'm down to hangout. Always good to hangout." A teasing wink follows as he moves away from the bag to lift his arms to flex, showing off that lean, athletic musculature. "I never show off." Flexing his legs and posing he laughs once more before turning to the bag to throw a few quick jabs.

He falls into a boxing stance, bouncing on the balls of his feet and moving around that back, lining up a few testing jabs and a harder cross. Backing off a bit from the bag he turns and then looks to Paige. "I was just going to work out a bit. But since you're here we could work out together?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"You are such a dork, Berto." Paige says with a roll of her eyes upwards and to the side, followed by an amused laugh in her throat. "Yes, yes, you are /very/ handsome and /very/ fit. Is your ego properly filled?" She says as she gives a motion of her hand to follow him.

As she hops up on the treadmill, she pops in her profile witih a few taps on the screen, then hits the start. She starts into a quick walk, when turns into a jog, followed by an all-out sprint as the speed gradually speeds up. As her arms pump with each motion as she controls her breathing to keep a steady heart rate.

"You get Sammy a present?" She calls over to him.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
A teasing waggle of brow is given in response to Paige's ego fluffing. "It'll do for now, but I'll need a bit more soon for sure." Roberto's tone is teasing and there is a grin splitting his handsome features showing he's enjoying the playful banter. Making his way over to the treadmill beside her he gets on and starts much the same way she did, a slow walk, faster job then a fast run.

He is in great shape, easily running while looking in her direction to laugh, "Gift?! What more could he want than being my friend. Its the best gift ever!" Pressing a few buttons to run faster he looks ahead and sprints on the treadmill, quiet for a long moment before cutting a look in her direction, "If I were... To get something, what do you think would be the best thing to get?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Ah' dunno, rich boy. Why don't you get 'em a car or something? That station wagon he's driving around that's been a hand me down for a few generations is fallin' apart. He is such a saint though. He got me my own car last week. Used up almost all his money. It's a 1980 Rabbit. Even got a cassette player." Paige says as she continues to jog, ticking up the speed a bit to match him. She is competitive after all.

"But, seriously, you all could just hang out and do dinner ah' guess. Ah' got him some records. Bruce Springsteens. He likes Th' Boss. Pa really did also. So, ah'm hoping he'll get a kick outta 'em."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"A car..." Roberto is obviously seriously thinking it over it would seem as he runs at that fast pace. "I don't know... I mean... He'd probably never accept it." Looking over as Paige ups her own pace he grins and looks like he'd up his a bit more but he holds off. "I know, let's go get him something together. Something special, from us both as his little sis and best friend."

Reaching down he changes the speed with a few soft beeps as he presses the buttons. Instead of getting faster is slows to a nice, easy jog. Falling into that job he looks ahead, thoughtful, "Maybe a car but not something new new, he'd have an easier time turning that down. But something used he might have an easier time accepting, right? Or... Would he take something new?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Ah' dunno. He'd complain either way, but ah'd think maybe somethin' like ah' pick up truck. He's a country boy after all and he likes lugging things 'round." Paige continues on with her faster pace, legs and arms pumping in unison as she breathes a bit heavier. By now, she's covered in sweat, but she isn't going to budge or complain. X-Men don't give up! She also has ten more minutes left on the timer.

"If you really wanted ta' get him a truck, we could put mah' records in it and waiting for him. "Ah know he'd appreciate it, even if he whined that you shouldn't have spent that kinda money on him. But he's worked really hard ta' take care of our family and work th' mines after Pa died. It'd be nice if he got treated right for once."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Pressing a few more buttons to slow the treadmill to a stop, Roberto laughs and then says. "Wow, actually. A truck is probably spot on. You're right, he deserves something good. He's a good guy and gives so much its really not a lot to get him something worthwhile." Nodding he's not even out of breath or hardly working up a sweat just yet.

Stepping off the treadmill he starts to stretch out, muscles now warmed up and blood flowing through his body. "Let's do it. Let's get him a truck, prep it with your other gifts and have it ready for him with a big bow on it... He can drive it home after dinner.... Agreed?"

Paige Guthrie has posed:
Hitting the stop button, Paige walks it out, then hops off once it stops. She'll fill the last eight minutes in later somewhere else. "Really? You wanna get Sam a truck?" She says with a grin. "Cool. Getting a truck for him is probably like finding spare change in the cushions of your couch, huh? Must be nice."

She takes a towel out of her bag, starting to wipe herself down a bit. "Agreed, ah'm in." She says with a grin to him. "Hey, ah' got a question for yah." She pauses for a moment, then gives an amused laugh. "Uh .. that Sadie Hawkins dance is coming up and ah was wondering iffffff.. you were going?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Usually Roberto is caviler about his wealth, joking about it and flaunting it. But with the Guthrie's, because of Sam and their friendship he's a bit more empathetic about it all. So he doesn't joke about how easy it is to just buy a truck for his friend, instead he just chuckles softly and replies, "He deserves it, more so since he dropped his cash on a car for you." Both arms lift high over head as he stretches his back, showing off just a hint of those chiseled abs.

With his legs shoulder width apart he leans down to put his palms flat on the ground, stretching out with a soft, rumble of a growl at the feeling of his muscles and tendons pulling and stretching. Slowly lifting his upper body he looks over to Paige and grins, "Sadie Hawkins? Mmmmm... That's coming up?" He's teasing now, making her squirm in his playful teasing. "What is that? Isn't where girls have to ask boys to go?" Still teasing he's acting like he doesn't know how it works. "Mmmmm, I'd have to be asked to go right? I mean, by a girl..." One dark brow lifts quizzically as he looks to Paige, "Well I mean, no one has asked me yet."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
"Really? Not by a guy? Cuz ah'm sure maybe ah' could find a guy to ask you out." Paige says with an amused grin to him. "Well, ain't no boy ask me out yet ta' go and ah'm pretty sure it's tradition for ah' boy to ask ah' girl ta' a dance." Reaching into her bag, she pulls out a pair of jeans and a fresh shirt, followed by a few other under garments before she angles herself for the locker room.

As she goes, she gives a glance over her shoulder at him, giving him a wide grin. "And ah' really like tradition. It's very attractive."

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Laughing a bit as his teasing seems to fall flat and doesn't get Paige to ask him to the dance, Roberto shakes his head. "Well... You said Sadie Hawkin's right?" Standing up straight he closes the distance between them and reaches for her wrist to stop her, "I was trying to get you to ask me, but... I'd be honored to escort you to the dance if you'd let me be your date..."

Paige Guthrie has posed:
As her hand is snagged, Paige turns around and grins at him. "That's right, it is, huh?" Her brows lift upwards some at him, then leans forward to place a kiss to his cheek. "Ah'd love to go, Berto. Been kinda hoping you'd have asked me awhile ago ta' yah'know.. one of th' other ones."

A slight blush creeps into her cheeks. "Thanks by th' way. First boy to ever ask me to a dance. Can kinda check that off now.. ya'know.. th' old bucket list. Ah' need to take a shower and get dressed. Ah'll see you in a little bit so we can shoppin', ah'right?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie has decided to put a bit of time in the gym today. He gets a lot of it at training between X-men and Police Academy but he plans on slacking off the rest of the day and maybe even having some cake or something this evening. So in walks Sam with his shorts and tank top on. A towel over one shoulder. He looks around and seeing Berto and Paige he smiles a bit but as he notices the blush and them close together his brow raises as the smile fades to a more neutral expression, not quite a frown at least.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto takes the soft kiss to his cheek with a grin, one hand lightly resting at Paige's hip. Nodding a bit he speaks softly with her, standing close. "Well. I'll ask you to more dances if you want me to..." Trailing off, whatever else he'd say is dropped as the door opens to let Sam in to the gym. The Brazilian doesn't blush because nothing bad is going on, instead he grins and waves to Sam.

"Well what do we have here? The gym? Really? Shouldn't you be resting for the big night man?" Chuckling, Roberto crosses the gym while waving for Paige to follow. "We were just talking about you and how we're taking you out for dinner, drinks included tonight. So dress nice, my treat. Pick your favorite spot though..." Hugging his friend he adds, "Happy Birthday bro!" A warm clasp of Sam's shoulder follows as Roberto steps back to give his friend a bit of space.

Paige Guthrie has posed:
The fire in Paige's cheeks burn a bit brighter, though her grin widens with confidence. "Ah'd be delighted to." As Sam steps into view, she trails off a bit and grins, lifting her hand upwards. "Hey Sammy! Happy Birthday! Ah' need t' go shower and get changed, but ah'll be out in ah' little bit. You two get to talkin'."

With a giggle, she eases herself in through the doors to the locker room, peeling off to the ladies side with a bit of a hop in her step.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will give his friend a hug back, and maybe they were just talking about taking Sam out yea, thats it not like his friend hits on every girl he meets right? Well Ah have not thought about where to go out to for sure, did not know anyone had planned anything." He admits. He nods to Paige as she heads towards the changing room. "So, what time you got this sing ding planned for?"

Roberto da Costa has posed:
Roberto grins and then gives Paige a wave as she moves away to slip into the ladies locker room. Looking back to Sam, his friend gives a shrug of his shoulders and says, "Yo man, that's up to you. Its your big day so you are the boss. You tell us the time and place and then we can hopefully do the rest." A wink follows as he teasingly throws a few friendly jabs at his friend.

Having come to work out, Roberto is dressed in a simple t-shirt that lightly hugs his athletic frame along with basketball shorts and cross trainer sneakers. "So. If you're working out, take it easy. Tonight we drink, eat and party!"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn steps into the gym, dressed in a bright pink tank top and black leggings, her pink and black hair toed up in a high ponytail. "Phew, I really need to get into shape.." she mutters and stretches as she peers around and sighs. It's been a while since Megs has even taken a workout seriously outside of training, but judging by the bruises on her face and body, looks like she's had a rough couple of days..

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over to Berto, and says "Well Ah promised to Stop in at Harry's and have my first legal drink with him, but if your wanting a place where we can all drink, we might need some help going a bit farther than a drive away. Whats the legal age for drinking in Canada?" The young man has drank before legal, but learned his lesson on drinking to much when he was younger. He looks over and says "Hey Megan, you ok?" He asks noticing the bruises.

Roberto da Costa has posed:
"Well, we'll go to Harry's and then see how it goes from there." Roberto clasps Sam on the shoulder again before waving to Megan. His phone starts to ring in his pocket but its ignored as he looks like he'd speak following Sam's words to Megan. The tone changes as a few texts come in following the ignored call. Frowning he slips the phone from his pocket and then says, "So... Let me know when, I need to take this kay?" Waving he slips out the door.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn quirks a brow as she catches bits of the conversation. "Ooh that's right, happy birthday, Sam! Doing dinner with the family? Cool!" as for the bruises she shrugs, pretending to be all casual. "These? Uh...Nothing really...Had a run in with some crazy girl..I'll be more prepared next time though!" still she seems a bit shaken up. Roberto is given a nod and smile before he heads off and Megan also starts to head for the climbing bars. "I should work on a more regular routine, especially now I'm an Xman ..Well in training." she giggles, "Soo I figured I should do more strength training and not rely so much on distance fighting.."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods his head a bit to this and says "Even though we are flyers it is good to work on your hand to hand, not only do we have to fight on the ground some, but there is also the whole fighting others fliers." He offers her. "Ah'm not sure who all is going to be there, Berto is footing the bill, so could be like for or five people or four or five hundred. Doubt it is that big though. You, want some tips on hand to hand, just had to take some classes at the academy so could show ya what they showed us."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, "Roght, right! I'll try extra hard!" she swings onto the bars, flipping up and jumping to a higher one, "Although learning air acrobatics would be cool too! Soo you know, I hope you can come back later and have a birthday party with the rest of us, might be fun! I'm not much of a baker but I looove decorating stuff!"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Well like I said not sure fully whats going on they wanting me to pick a place. " He offers her. He nods, a bi to the acrobatics. "I can show ya one of the tricks I learned from Kurt that helped me a lot. He walks over to one of the taller bars, and makes sure it is secured to the floor "If you want to make a quick turn, something like this helps alot." He motions towards the pole."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn ooohs and nods, hopping off the bar and heading to the pole. "Sure, cool! What do I do?" she peers up at the pole then at him thoughtfully, not sure what he has planned.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks over and says "Ok, do about three circuits of the room, build up a bit of speed, and then come in towards the pole. Grab it and pull your wings in close, your momentum should carry ya around in an arc, you let loose of the pole when your going in the new direction you want and once ya clear of the bar kick in the wings again." HE will make sure there is some padding in the places she may hit the floor if she does not get it right.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, "Sure, I can do that!" she does head about the room then, running through the usual routine through the vaults and hoops and climbing apparatus and what not, then rushes towards the pole at the end, bringing her wings in tight as she rushes at the pole, reaching out to grab it and swing round. "Wheee this is fun!" and she's pretty good at it. She does a few more circuits, perfecting her technique before calling it a day. Seems the other three are heading out to dinner soon so she stays back, practicing a bit herself. Hopefully next time she comes up against the creepy green slime, she'll be ready!
