Synopsis: Beast Boy and Vorpal meet the Nemean lion over burgers!
Cast of Characters: Terry O'Neil, Gar Logan, Evan Demetrios

Terry O'Neil has posed:
After introducing Evan to the Amazons, Vorpal also had promised that he would take the appropriate steps to introduce him to the mean, lean, green shifting machine that was Beast Boy. Unfortunately that rendez-vous had been postponed for a couple of weeks due to Issues With Doppelgangers, but one that was no longer an issue, a meeting could be set up.

This place isn't one of those food joints that gets all of the tourists and the attention. While enjoying a considerable clientele, it's still considered one of the minor independent burger places. To Vorpal's tastebuds, though, they were one of the top five. And, to be honest, the jungle motif and decorations simply tickled him.

They could be out and about as their hero selves for this- no disguising illusions. It was about time Vorpal had some public time out with his boyfriend, after all. He slides over to the most spacious booth he could find, "Evan should be here fairly soon, but i think it's better if we wait to order. Politeness and all." He gives Garfield a mischievous glance, "Think you'll be able to survive?"

Gar Logan has posed:
It's been so good to be able to use social media again, to go out like normal, and just get back to doing things instead of having to lay low. Now that a couple doppelgangers have been defeated and captured, the problems aren't all over yet but at least a couple are out of the way.

"So what's the deal with this place? What makes it so good?" he asks as they enter. He's dressed casually, at least outwardly. Shirt and jeans, sneakers, all that. The only sign of anything more is the high neck of his costume visible. "And I could probably take care of a burger or two between now and then," he says, feigning innocence as he sits down next to the feline. "Also, I don't think you told me about this new look. How did that happen?"

Evan Demetrios has posed:
Speaking of Evan, it's about five more minutes before he shows up. He's dressed in the same kind of outfit as Gar, just jeans and a t-shirt, a hoodie and a pair of sneakers, nothing really special. He's also in his human form and looks totally like a normal person.

He does spot Vorpal and Gar, it's hard not to, and makes his way over to their table, sitting down at it. He takes a quick look around because, well, he's sitting at a table with two famous superheroes who are also a famous actor and reporter so he feels a bit out of place, to say the least.

"Hey, sorry I'm a bit late, you guys didn't need to wait to order." He says, looking a bit nervous still, but trying his best to play it cool and not ask Garfield for an autograph.

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"The proprietor is a friend of my mom's- Catalini, from Sao Paulo. You haven't lived until you've tasted some of the Brazilian burger recipes..." Vorpal tells Gar, grinning. "Make sure you get the one with the smoky chimichurri relish!"

As Evan comes in, Vorpal stands up and offers his hand, "Hey, Evan! Gar, this is Evan Demetrios. Evan," he reaches over and ruffles Gar's hair, "This is Beast Boy, star of screen big and small, and all-around hero too." The cat drops back down onto the booth and grins, "He's a fan!"

Gar Logan has posed:
"Are you trying to tempt me?" Gar asks after being given the recommendation. "Because that sounds like something I should definitely put in my mouth." Phrasing has no place here.

Evan's timing is impeccable, whether or not he's late "That's what I was saying!" he puts in at the mention it wouldn't have been bad to get an order going. "It's not like I'm just gonna have one thing here."

He puts up with the mussing of his hair, which has the ironic effect of making it look a little more organized rather than less as he offers a fist bump. "It's Greek..I mean, great to meet you. I /hope/ that's a Greek name, otherwise I'm gonna feel dumb. And, a fan? Cool. I think I just ran out of fingers and toes to count them all with!"

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"It's Greek." Evan replies to Gar, "It's uh. Even more accurate than you'd think." He does smile and then returns the fistbump, "I don't know, uh, how much Vorpal has told you about me." He says, "And yeah, I've been a fan for a while now. Never thought I'd actually get to meet you, but stuff's been getting crazy over the last few months so it makes sense I'd get to do a bunch of stuff I never expected to do!"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Oh, I've only told him that you unexpectedly found yourself with the ability to turn into a giant cat. Gar is very familiar with that scenario," Vorpal says, not looking at the menu. He knows exactly what he wants. "Oh, Gar, you want to order the brigadieros for dessert. Trust me, they're absolutely delicious."

He gestures towards Evan, "You should tell him your backstory. There's some epic stuff in there... I mean, decidedly different from Wonderland, but no less spectacular."

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan gestures with his palms up, saying, "I don't know a whole lot yet. He was kind of vague. So, I'm all ears." However, in this case he actually does /not/ turn into a suitable animal to go with it. He's grabbing the menu, after all, intent on getting more than just the suggested items. "Brigands, you say? No, wait.." A finger slides along the desserts until he gets there, with an 'ah.'

"Anyway, yeah. Go on. You can tell me whatever you want while we wait," he adds with a smile.

Evan Demetrios has posed:
Evan sits back in his chair a little bit, grabbing his menu and looking over it for a bit, "Well so, it turns out that I am actually the son of one of the big bad guys from Greek mythology, Typhon." He says, "I mean...I don't really know /how/, but he wants me to be a monster and destroy stuff, but I don't want to do that."

He rubs his chin for a second, "But yeah, I guess he wanted to go for a modern take on the Nemean lion with me, so that's what I've been dealing with." He pulls back his shaggy hair to show off one of his slightly pointed ears, "Can't quite shake the effects entirely."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"YOu should see his lion form, it's pretty impressive!" Vorpal says, "He's, like, the tank version of cats. I'm obviously more of the rogue slash acrobat type. As for how it is possible... well, if you've read the Greek classics, and you obviously have, you know that the greek gods sleep with people all over the place!"

"So I'm going to go for the Bidu Sayao burger... I can relay your orders to the front counter while Evan fills you in on the rest. He's looking for outlets for his powers that are contrary to what his father might want him to use."

If the two give him their orders, he'll zip over to the front to put the food orders in. There will likely be a lot of food... and that's just Gar's share.

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan does put in a sizable order, but one that's about normal for him. Three main 'meals' with enough appetizers to cover it. "That's..unique," he says, trying to find the right word and settling on that. "But just because your, uh, Greek god dad wants you to be a certain way, that doesn't mean you have to. It's your life, dude."

Eyes pass between Vorpal and Evan, lingering on both equally enough. "A tank cat, huh? Well, that probably fits if it's based on the stories and all. What kind of outlets?" He grins at the ear, gesturing toward his as well. "Yeah, I don't have his ears, but they're still pointy." He notes Vorpal's, which are actually atop the head like a cat's.

Evan Demetrios has posed:
Evan doesn't really know what's good but after reading the descriptions, he orders a couple of burgers that sound real good. Then he looks back to Gar, "I'll have to show it off sometime, but I'm kinda...Not really ready to show off in public yet. Which I mean, I know a lot of folks don't have a choice about so I'm grateful I do. But yeah, I want to be a hero like you guys."

Gar Logan has posed:
"I get that. I don't really have that problem, of course. All green, all the time. And I do mean all green," Gar remarks, leaning back in the booth. He'd probably put his feet up if there was room. As Vorpal deals with the order, he asks further, "What do you want to do as a hero sort of guy? Or are you still figuring that part out?"

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"I guess I'm still trying to figure that part out." Evan replies, "I mean I wanna help people. Especially since I'm nigh indestructable, at least from the little bit of testing I've done so far.."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Did you hear that?" Vorpal says, coming back with drinks. The burgers are being made. "Nigh indestructible! That makes him the tank, definitely. But I figured you could give him some advice, since you have been at the business a lot longer than I have."

Sitting down, he nudges Gar playfully with an elbow, "I only collected posters of you, I didn't do the whoe heroic thing until last year."

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan's head tilts at this. "Uh, just how are you trying to test something like that out? I hope you're not moonlighting as a crash test dummy or charging through brick walls just to see if you break something or get knocked out," he remarks, resting an arm across the tabletop after Vorpal's returned.

To him, he adds, "Yeah, and trust me, sometimes it shows. I think one rule of being a hero is you have to do something dumb early on. Then you're supposed to learn from it and stuff, so you don't do the thing again."

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"Oh no nothing that crazy." He replies, "I mean I haven't thrown myself off a roof or anything yet. Though I guess I could try it." He replies, considering for a moment or two. If he's being serious about it or not is up for debate, "But yeah, I want to help folks, and if anyone knows about that, it'd be you two."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Well, powers should be tested in supervised locations. Gar would say that I am still in the phase of making stupid mistakes," he gives a glance at the green Titan, a hint of mischief there. "But we could help you with that a bit. Do you see yourself as a solo operative, or a member of a team? Teams are the best, because you have someone watching your back while you get training. It's a lot safer, overall, right Gar?"

Gar Logan has posed:
Gar Logan idly pokes at Vorpal's side beneath the height of the table. "I still make mistakes," he reminds, moving his shoulders in a shrug. "But sometimes it all works out. Yeah, it's kinda important to know if you think you'd rather be a loner, or around others. And this guy's not wrong about having better ways to test what someone's limits are. That way they can also help if something unexpected happens. Me, I wanted to be a Titan from the start, and I wasn't gonna take no for an answer. I think they knew my charming personality, quick wit, and handsome face would help them with a few things, and the rest is history." With someone else, it could sound like narcissism speaking, but with Gar he often says silly things like that.

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"Well, I mean.." Evan considers for a moment or two, glancing between the both of them, "A team could be useful, but I'm admittedly...You know, not sure about the whole 'rampaging monster' thing yet. Like if I lose control or whatever I'd hate to hurt anybody. But I guess if I had a team they would be around to take me down if I did go crazy. It's a lot to think about." And he's definitely thought about it though, "It may be best to have folks around...Just in case."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal smirks at Gar, "You're such a tool. Lucky for you that you're cute," he says humorously. "A team does have those benefits... and well, the Titans are always open. Do you think you might have what it takes to be part of them?" the Cheshire grins, and takes a sip from his soda.

"I was thinking that the three of us could go to some remote location and do a preliminary pre-audition and give your powers a bit of a run for their money. Not to push you into a rampage, but to see what you are capable for within a reasonable set of parameters."

Gar Logan has posed:
"I like the idea of testing some things out first so we can get an idea of what you can do," Gar admits, a palm up as he explains, "I know the Titans are pretty much for anyone who wants to be a part of stuff, but I think you should be sure that's something you're interested in before we go back and talk to the rest."

This time, Vorpal gets retaliation in the form of the green Titan reaching up to rub at one of his ears. "You know I am."

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"Yeah lets...We could do that." He says to Vorpal, "It'd probably be better to do it with professional supervision anyway." He hmms faintly, and then looks back to Gar, "If you think I should do some tests first before meeting with other members of the Titans, I'm game. Just give me the where and when."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vrpal gasps and leans into the hand stroking one of his ears, and finds himself purring. Then, after a few seconds, he becomes aware of what he's doing, and he gently bats at Gar's hand. "You brat. I'll get you later for that."

Their burgers finally arrive, and Vorpal rubs his hands as the scent reaches his nostrils. "Well well well... for this feast, I am thankful! But talking business, we could go somewhere out in the desert. Let's meet in Metropolis Park and I can rabbit hole us out there- the best possible way to do a try-out without any collateral damage. What do you think, adorable one?" he glances over at Gar, and then he brings his hand up to grab his own ear playfully to keep Gar from rubbing it

Gar Logan has posed:
Amusement flashes in Gar's expression as Vorpal reacts as he does. "Is that a threat, or a promise?" he teases, an 'ahh' following as a lot of food soon ends up on the table. He can eat like a lion, or any other number of animals with a voracious appetite. Where does it all go?

"And he thinks we're professionals," Gar adds, a little snicker surfacing before he waves his hands to hold their attention. "Dude, if there's someone who gets animals, it's me. If we do what this cat here says, there won't be anyone else around."

This leads to him adding, "So I guess you could kill us there and nobody would know where we were, but then you'd have a hard time getting back."

Instead of an ear, Gar goes for a scratch of Vorpal's tail, near the tailbone itself, right as he's about to take the first bite of his food.

Evan Demetrios has posed:
Taking the burgers on his side of the table once they arrive, Evan watches the two across from him playfully interact. When Gar mentions he could kill them and nobody would know, he gets a kind of stern look on his face, "The last thing I want to do is kill anybody, no matter what the instincts in the back of my head tell me to do. Like you said, it's my life and my choice."

And then less serious, "Besides, wandering the desert doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me. I've been to Egypt, it's no good."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"Trust me, it's no fun at a-EEP!" Vorpal almost jumps from the scritch, and his hamburger almost falls out of his hands. He manages to catch it just in time and takes a bite out of it, giving a look at Gar. "Just wait 'til we get home..." he mutters, and then chuckles. "But enough business. Let's enjoy food, and we can set up that test... say, tomorrow? Monday? That'll give us time to brainstorm some tests."

He reaches over and tries to tickle Gar under the table as he goes for the soda. Just because.

Gar Logan has posed:
A smug, innocent expression takes shape at Vorpal's reaction. "What?" he asks, putting a little extra mustard on the act, but not the burger. He flashes a wide grin that exposes that snaggletooth, as it so often sticks out. "Until we get home, huh?" he asks, looking toward Evan once more.

"Even if you tried to, we have our ways of handling things. But I believe you when you say you don't want to do that. We just have to make sure you can avoid it if something's pushing you to do it. I'm with you guys on the desert. I'd rather have dessert."

When Vorpal takes advantage of the opening as Gar sips at his drink, it backfires as he twitches and does a spit-take, some of the soda spewing at Vorpal instead.

Evan Demetrios has posed:
Evan thinks the two of them make a cute couple, especially with how comfy they are engaging like that in public. He munches away at his burger, watching the two of them playfully toy with each other, "So how did you two meet, anyway? Superhero teamup?"

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal acks! "Oh no, the consequences of my actions!" he says, grabbing a napkin and dabbing at his fur where Gar got him all wet, "D'you realize how cold it is outside? If I go out and catch pneumonia, it'll be your fault!"

He takes a chomp from his burger and then, perhaps to embarrass Gar, he says "Knocked me on my ass in public, right in front of the Hall of Justice, in plain view of everyone. Clear to the ground!"

And then, as he sips his soda, he adds the cherry on top. "Precisely a year ago, ten days from now." Yes. He's been keeping tabs. He glances over at Gar with a furtive sidelong look, to check his reaction.

Gar Logan has posed:
"You won't," Gar says with confidence at the concern over catching something, getting sick. He dabs ever so daintily at his mouth with a napkin, and..no, he just gives a quick swipe over the area, then he holds up one of the burgers. "Want to see a magic trick? I can make this disappear!" He just about crams the whole thing into his mouth, somehow.

Once that display of gluttony is passed, and it gives Vorpal a chance to tell the story, he clears his throat. "He's not exactly wrong. And..has it been that long?"

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"Well. Sounds like you guys got off to a rough start." Evan replies, as he finishes off one of the burgers, and starts on the second one, "Glad you two worked it out though, hah."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
Vorpal smirks, "He was looking at his phone and walking at the same time. Streaming. And bumped into me!" Vorpal takes a sip of his soda. "I was a totally innocent victim."

Who, also, was walking and looking at his phone.

Gar Logan has posed:
"We unintentionally filmed a PSA for the dangers of walking with your face buried in your phone," Gar deadpans, then he turns a question back around. "And how did you two meet, again? Were you both getting some cat toys?"

Closed Captioning would now show 'CHEWING INTENSIFIES'

Evan Demetrios has posed:
"Oh well. I was actually looking for info about what had happened to me at the museum here in town...He happened to be there giving some kids a show with some of his powers. I guess I got lucky I ran into someone with some experience in the field.."

Terry O'Neil has posed:
"And then I took him to the Embassy to meet Diana and Donna, since there was the Greek connection," Vorpal explains, "And be very very careful, Garfield Logan. You technically count as a cat toy, you know," he says with an arched eyebrow. "In any case, I figured that someone at the Embassy would be able to tell him some information about Typhon..."

And he proceeded to talk about the Embassy meetin. By the time they are done eating, they have accorded on a meeting spot and time for the testing of Evan's powers.
