Abduction
Date of Scene: 15 February 2021
Location: Outskirts of Gotham's industrial park
Synopsis: Carrie Becomes a Bunny.
Cast of Characters: Blackjack O'Hare, Carrie Kelley

Blackjack O'Hare has posed:
It's not everyday people ask to speak to him, far less often that those people have thusfar been both pleasant and helpful. So once pinged he's not terribly long in coming, in no small part because he hadn't actually gone that far really. Even the meeting spot, despite his general paranoia over the authorities presents not as much as a speed bump.

Indeed down into the disused steel mill a boxy little, well lets be real here it's like a space truck. A compact space truck, had it been imagined in the 80's. It's boxy and painted in a myriad of deep blues and creamy whites, but it's also dead silent. Gliding down through the skies until those broad helicopter like skis touch down, and everyone's favorite Rabbit hops out of the cab. One gloved hand adjusting the fitment of that helmet, before double checking his positional scanner to make sure he's in the right place.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
She's never contacted an alien before. Not wittingly anyways. She is waiting in the shadows. Much better disguised than last time, she's wearing a black outfit, with a hood. She's supposed to look like a bat. Nobody is sure if they entirely buy that or not. But, anyways, she's at least out of sight as the truck pulls up to the meeting spot. Carrie watches the rabbit climb out of the truck, and then quickly parkours down from the roof she is on. She is fast, and nearly silent.

"Thank you for coming, Commander," she says, stepping into the streetlight so that Blackjack can see her WITHOUT the aid of night vision goggles, "I didn't think this would actually work, but, neat to know it does."

Blackjack O'Hare has posed:
"Well what sort of gentle-hare would I be, if I ignored a lady's call?"Grinning as he half steps back, before smoothily jumping up to sit on the pickup's bedrail. "Whatever is it I can do for you my dear, I do hope this isn't simply an invite for tea?"Not that he seems terribly upset either way, slumped shoulders and ears upright whatever that means.

He is tellingly without his backpack for the moment, and the carbine bolted to it. Not that he's anything approaching unarmed, considering those holstered blasters at either hip and goodness knows what else he might have up his sleeve. "I rather doubt by reputation alone, your authorities take too kindly to consorting with somebody like me."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley mms quietly as she considers the space rabbit, and then walks over to check out the truck he arrived in, "No, not an invitation to tea. I suspect Earth tea would be rather boring." At the comment about 'authorities' she smiles and then says, "Well, I don't see Commissioner Gordon around. Though I guess this is the sort of small time crime the dopes in the GPD would actually care about. They seem a little preoccupied with the Joker right now."

She turns around and says, "Sorry, I've been thinking about your ship for...days. Every day this week, it was in my mind. What I saw, what it was. I mean, I knew aliens existed, don't have to look further than NYC to see that but....it's one thing to know, and another to like, SEE it with your own eyes. And board a ship with your own feet." She traces a finger over the paint of the truck and asks, "How do you keep it running? Like, do you have a crew, like that doofus Peter Quill seems to have?"

Blackjack O'Hare has posed:
Those ears perk, and well Carrie has Blackjack's attention it would seem. "It's a Prvi Pediwate dockyards Very Light Frigate, which are pretty popular across the Galaxy really. There's a few amongst every mercenary fleet, they're mainstays of corporate picket and convoy security detachments. Mine is rather different however, the engines were pushed into the hull about twenty feet and the aft section extended a fair bit. Full spectrum EM white noise generators, radar scattering shapes, Lidar absorbant skin, and of course with the engines burried in the hull there isn't much of a thermal signature to speak of. That ate up most of the crew quarters however, so I had the shipyards rig her for just one hare and a crew of bots at minimum."

Pausing to source a stubby cigar from his jacket, and bring it to light with the snap of his fingers. "Ideal crew to maintain watch for a vessel of anysize however is three souls, and all the Bots'n AI can only do so much. Considering my reputation, I haven't bothered too much with hunting for crewmates just yet. Too hard seperating the ones who just want to meet because they've got a grudge to settle."

Carrie Kelley has posed:
Carrie Kelley nods as she listens to Blackjack speak, and leans her back against the truck. She hmms, "Well, I don't have a grudge against you because I only just met you. And...you said a lot of impressive sounding things about your ship, but I don't know anything about any of that. But, it sounds like you don't need a crew for repair work, but...to watch your back." She straightens up, and then walks over to the passenger side door of the truck, "I've spent the last eight years watching the back of a man who doesn't pay me a lick of mind right now. Might as well go see some new scenery while I do it."

She pulls open the door the truck, and climbs in, before she asks, "You come around to Earth very often? There are people who I would miss if I just up and completely disappeared."

Blackjack O'Hare has posed:
"You understand I'm a Mercenary, of some particular note I hope? I have never broken the law intentionally, but I have a very substantial civilian bodycount which can be attributed directly to me yes? That if you sign on as a crewmate, You will be expected to participate in legal mercenary actions? This path is neither safe nor easily walked away from, as I don't normally spend much time in this part of the galaxy. Granted you will be paid very well, equipped well and trained to the best of my ability."Slumping back down to the ground as he crosses his arms.

"If you want to crew on, I won't turn you away because I can use the help frankly. I also don't want you signing up for anything you aren't fully prepared for, I kill people for coin. I don't particularly care for violence, but I've long accepted it as a necessity of the only profession I am capable of."He lets that hang there for a moment, slowly rounding to peer back after Carrie. "Do you want to be a Mercenary?"

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"I'm not gunning down parents of children in cold blood because they went to the theater on the wrong night, am I?" Carrie asks, looking at the rabbit man. "I have my own equipment which I can maintain that is non-lethal, but I am not above carrying something..more lethal for desperate times." She then turns fully towards Blackjack, "I get it, you're a well paid murder machine. You need crew, I need a way off this rock, I think I'm losing my mind." She's the right age for it. "I'll let you toss me out an airlock before I go on a mass murder spree, but, yes, I get that sometimes that happens. People are in the wrong place, at the wrong time. I've seen it...too many times here."

Carrie's gaze is, sharp, eyes narrowed, "There are bad people out there -- just like there are here on Earth -- and, frankly, I figure those people are who you generally go after, right? Like I said, you're not usually blowing up space school busses are you? You're tangling with people who've done bad things, and the universe is a bit better place when they're dead and gone, right? If that's the case, let's go. Least I'll be able to buy some cute outfits for a vampire I know."

Blackjack O'Hare has posed:
"Generally, it's grey on grey. We keep order for a violent despot, which is unsavory. However when we leave the place erupts in civil war ten times worse, Mercenaries are imperfect solutions to an imperfect reality."And with that he climbs into the truck, and well with a few switches flipped it lifts off silently. "Violence is expensive, words are cheap. I'm in this for the money and the adventure, it does not pay to be any more violent than it strictly necessary." He does reach across to offer a leather glove.

"In anycase, welcome aboard Miss Kelley. You are joining an elite to be sure, only the second no Hare to join the Black Bunny Brigade."And well with a little throttle, he steers that truck away from Gotham and towards the yawning darkness of the sea beyond.

Carrie Kelley has posed:
"Yeah, we're gonna fix that..." Carrie replies, before she shakes the Hare's hand. "Thank you," she says, then she pulls her hood down to reveal her red hair, and puts on her glasses as the truck rolls into the night.
