Cast of Characters: Bobbi Morse, Matthew Murdock

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi was standing Mark up. Not that she had actually organised to have dinner with Mark, so it's a virtual stand up. Now that they were watching Matt too closely, she decided to see how much rope she herself had. With night setting and Jiaying busy having dinner with Matt and Daisy, Bobbi hit the stone pathways.

She had a few objectives tonight. Finding the edges of this place and finding the power source deadening signals in and out of this place. If she could shut it off, just for a moment, she could call SHIELD and let them know they're okay for now.

This was how Bobbi had found herself outside the regular boundaries of Afterlife and looking at a 60s era hydro-electric water wheel. The belting snows create powerful water streams which power Afterlife. The building is old cement and slightly overgrown with plants. Hiding amongst the brush herself she is watching the place - it seems quiet, the path is old enough that may be very few people visit here for maintainence.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
There's a flash of blue and the crackle of electricity behind her, before she hears Gordon's voice call out, "Out for a walk, Agent Morse?" he asks. He seems to be alone and unarmed, the blank space where his eyes should be covered by shades. "You don't want to slip and fall though, even with your abilities, that wheel would chew you up and spit you out."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi lets out a sigh of disappointment. Confirmed, Gordon can track people. How he does it she's not sure, but she was being careful to check for hidden cameras as she went. She turns around slowly to look at the man and says, "I wasn't planning on it, but thanks for the tip."

Now comes the awkward moment... "It's in your best interested to just turn around and forget you saw me here Gordon. You're going to have to trust me on this. I need to oh so very briefly shut off the power to your jammers," she says as she handles the stick she has fashioned in to a stave over the last few days. Being weaponless, armorless, flight suit less, smart glasses less has left her with a mild headache from eyesight strain and a sense of unease at her vulnerableness. Especially amidst people with super powers.

"After all, we're both Inhumans. Trust can flow both ways right?," she flicks her hair back, her posture is ready. Beating up Gordon hadn't been part of the plan but if things go south she can always hike down the mountain. Where-ever here is, she can manage it.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Gordon's smile is tight and almost apologetic if it wasn't so wry, "Sorry, Agent Morse, I can't let you do that," he tells her. "Why don't you heads back to the guest house and wait for your friends. I think you'll have a much better night." He doesn't take any sort of fighting stance but his attitude and posture screams he's ready for a fight.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
It was inevitable, really, that she'd come to blows with Afterlife in some fashion. May be a bit of biff with Gordon will be something she can apologise for later. The problem is, the pocket full of dirt she gathered to throw in someones eyes is.. not a plan that'll work against Gordon.

"Huh. I wondered when the penny would drop. I have a job to do and believe it or not, it's in your best interests too," she says. There's a lot of that going around tonight 'if only Jia would listen' sort of thing. "So I'm going to have to decline and if you try to stop me - try to remember it's nothing personal."

Slowly, she starts to back away from the man, toward the power station's front door. It'll be locked, but an old steel lock is not going to keep her out. Back in the day that meant lock picking, but now.. just yanking the lock hard will do the trick.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Don't worry, I won't take it personal," Gordon says confidently. As she backs towards the power station he blinks out of view with a crackle of energy and blue light, one echoed shortly after from under the door the power station, just as the lock is yanked free. "There's no where to run, Agent Morse, just take the loss, go back to your room and sit tight until your friends are done with dinner."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi's lips press together tightly as the crackle of Gordon teleporting brings him back in front of her. She tilts her head a touch and says, "Fine.. have it your way." Well, his way is she goes back to the guest house, but her way through his way is more violent.

No doubt Gordon has had to deal with strong people before. But Steve Rogers level strength? Bobbi feints with the stick she's crashed and then open palm push punches his chest to knock him back so she can enter the room. She has never fought a teleporter before. In her head she expects this is going to be really really difficult.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Gordon's air is forced out of his chest by that punch, and he is barely able to teleport out of range to catch his breath, but after a moment his head lifts, shades aimed directly at Bobbi in away to imagine a wrathful stare if the man had eyes. Electricity and blue light flash again and this time flash a second time behind her, as Gordon ducks low, rolling trying to make a grab for Bobbi's ankle. He didn't have to restrain her just touch her to take her where he wanted her to go.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi was right, fighting a teleporter wasn't going to be easy. She shakes her head to the man hoping he takes the hint and doesn't come back for seconds. "Don't do it Blinky, this isn't a fight you want or need." But.. he's coming back for seconds. As she also guessed, he went behind her. It makes sense if you're a teleporter to try to move in to peoples blind sports.

Bobbi turns with a spinning back kick, her other leg just barely out of his grasp as he ducks low completely dodging her strike. She turns in the air and thrusts her stick down toward his head as gravity brings her toward him.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Gordon's victory at avoiding the back kick is short lived as the he catches the edge of the stick to his head. He rolls back, blood leaking from his scalp. "You're quick, Blondie," he says getting to his feet. "And what do I look like one of those guys from Pac Man?" he says about his new nickname. His hand darts to the side grabbing a wrench someone left behind, he hurls it at Bobbi before he vanishes again, this time when she hears the crackling it's from above.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
"You have nooo idea," she warns him about her speed. "Pac man, okay grandpa?," she asks mockingly at the anachronistic reference. With the wrench thrown her way she doesn't want to have to suffer through a broken arm because she tried to block a piece of hurling metal with it, so she dodges out of the way. The slower approach. The crackling from above forces her to do a dive roll away this time. As she comes back up though she kick turns off the wall with stick thrusting toward him.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Pac Man is timeless," Gordon counters, or at least so he's heard, he can't quantum entangle pixels like he can people and places, video games are lost to him. Still if he could see he had the reflexes for greatness, his hands clap together over the end of Bobbi's stick, grabbing it tight. "Fast," he taunts, "But not fast enough."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi did do a super dramatic roll, kick turn, jump with a stick at the guy. If he hadn't dodged out of the way, teleported away, or in this case simply grabbed it - she would have been genuinely surprised and a touch disappointed. It is without ceremony that she simply lets go of the stick when she is halted by him grabbing it and punches him, whole fisted, right in the gut.

Her feet dance her back and she flicks back her pony tail of blonde and she looks down at him, "Was that too hard? I'm trying to get a good handle on my strength these days but it's hard to judge sometimes..." It was probably too hard.

Her eyes glance quickly to the heart rate monitor on her wrist. So far, still steady. "Huh," she remarks to herself - none of her friends are in mortal danger around her, that might be a part of the usual problem she's avoiding this time.

"If you keep this up I may have to break an arm though and that just won't be a fun time for you," she says, though now she's thinking she probably should choke him out so she had time to do her short mission before surrendering to Jia's glares of judgement. "And clearly you didn't see how Adam Sandler ruined Pac Man in movie form...."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Definitely too hard. Gordon coughs, though thankfully he's not coughing up blood. He makes himself stand up, still breathing deep. "Who the hell is Adam Sandler?" he asks, lucky guy if he's telling the truth there. "Well we'll have to see about that," he says gritting his teeth and coming at Bobbi in a rush, hands up by his face at first before reaching out to try and grab her around the middle.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods her head, "Fair, he's not worth knowing." Her expression reduces from levity to concentration again as he comes at her for the midsection grab. She's not quite sure how his powers work, but she's pretty sure if she can choke him out he won't be able to teleport her anywhere. Then again, she's also not sure if he can teleport while being choked.

She extends a foot past him as his arms wrap around her and then she turns abruptly, pulling him down to the ground jiu jitsu style, one leg across his neck, the other behind it, holding his wrist out in an arm bar as she tries to cut off his air.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Niice tryyy," Gordon croaks out before the blue light and arcs of electricity surround them before collapsing rapidly inward. There's a moment of disorientation like the last time, like Bobbi's falling in every direction at once and then they both hit a cold stone floor in a dimly lit room. Wriggles himself free enough to get some air into his lungs even though Bobbi's hold remains unbroken. "If you don't let me go, they'll never let you out of this place, let me go, and you and Jaiying can discuss your future."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi would have lost physical strength on Gordon due to the disorientation of teleporting easily prior to her upgrade. But even when she's not trying, her grip is like an iron vice. With Gordon half squirming out of it she can either ratchet it on tighter.. or take stock of the situation.

Her eyes try to adjust to the extra dark darkness of the room, the cold stone floor. Either way, it seems, her mission tonight is blown. She doesn't really want to hurt him too much either, since there's still hope Afterlife and SHIELD can be friends. She lets go of him and scrambles back to standing, "Gordon.. what the hell is this?" The room might be a prison, but it is painted like the other buildings in Afterlife and has some furniture which is impossible to see in the dark. Hopefully there's candles somewhere.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Gordon gets to his feet, adjusting his shades and massaging his throat. "Jaiying wants you to stay put, she'll explain why when she visits, but you have a very important role to play in the future of our people. In the meantime rest up, and if you don't jump me when I bring it, I'll bring you food, whatever you like." It seems like a genuine peace offering on the blind man's part.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi frowns, "Stay put? future of out people? What the hell is that meant to mean? Gordon!" Bobbi hates losing. Especially when the other person cheats by having teleportation powers. Usually she's the one cheating with SHIELD technology and or team mates.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Those final questions are lost in the crackling of the effects of Gordon's powers as the man crouches in the bubble of energy before he and the light it casts leaves Bobbi alone in the dark.
