Maxima has posed:
For Maxima the last six months have been full of surprises. What she expected to be a relatively simple recovery mission to a backwater mudball beyond the edge of what could be considered civilized space turned out to be anything but. The planets inhabitants had surprised her, Mongul's invasion had been quite unexpected, there were her encounters with Namor, and the ultimately the adventure in the depths, the recovery of her lost city, and the destruction of the eldritch horror that had been feeding on it. But now her mission was at an end, all that was left was to tie up loose ends, a few thankyous and goodbyes. Chief among those thankyous and goodbyes being the individual who had stood by her and aided her ever since she first arrived, Supergirl.

The Titans Tower's sophisticated air defenses detect Maxima's approach a few seconds before she arrives, breaking through the clouds and descending towards the tower's roof. The various point defense turrets and other armaments are noted, and in what might be considered progress for her does not simply attempt to force her way though. Instead she reaches out with her telepathy to scan the area of the tower searching for Kara's mind.

<<Kara Zor-El, I have come to speak with you.>> Comes Maxima's mental voice.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara usually goes to the Fortress of solitude for a bit of quiet meditation. However, with so much of her family visiting there in preparation for the trip, she's found she needed somewhere else. University campus was always too noisy. Home was not really home and never felt right. But Titans Tower had quieter rooms. This being one of them.

The incoming Maxima sends an alert directly to her T-comms. The computers are smart enough to determine potential threat levels and who best to loop in. She pries her eyes open and then simply listens for a moment. To her surprise though, she hears a voice in her head.

Smiling, Kara rises and flies up to the roof top, "Maxima.. come on in." She taps on her T-comms to mark Maxima as her guest and then floats back down the elevator shaft to the Memorials and Meetings room.

"You must feel relieved. Finally you have your city back. When you first arrived I had worried you were going to place your mission above the people of this world. I'm certainly glad I was wrong and that you got your city back _and_ stopped your simulacrom," she says with a welcoming smile.

Maxima has posed:
Once the tower's defenses stand down, Maxima descends and follows Kara down the elevator shaft to the Memorials and Meetings room.

Upon entering Maxima's eyes instinctively move about the space making subconscious tactical assessments of her surroundings. Those eyes linger upon the open doorway that leads to the memorial section before Kara's words draw her attention again.

"Yes, it is a relief." Maxima nods in agreement. "As the Crown Princess it is my sacred duty to protect, recover, or avenge my subjects. I am sure the reputation of the Almeracian Empire must have preceded me. I cannot say that it is all false, our enemies do fall before us. However, we are people of Honor, and to our allies, unfailingly loyal. If my actions unleash an unintended threat, then it is only natural that I would remain long enough to see it dealt with."

Her expression becomes a smile as she regards Kara, "That is part of why I have come. I am preparing to depart for the Almeracian Core system and wanted to say thank you for all of your help. Your aid was invaluable to my mission."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara shakes her head and says, "Well.. heh. Funny story. Krypton had closed itself off to the universe almost entirely for the last .. long while. I'd never heard of the Almeracian Empire before. But it was clear to me the moment you landed you needed help. And helping is the right thing to do."

She nods her head, "Home then. It has been good getting to know you. I'm intending a trip to Oa, and then the remains of my world Krypton. I've been gathering my family together to convince them this is a good idea. It's taking some effort."

She sighs a touch, "Our best option for a ship - it's a bit slow, and quite small. The Guardians of the Galaxy. The crew is capable though. I'm not sure which way your empire is, but perhaps we will be paralleling each other for part of the trip?"

Maxima has posed:
Maxima looks momentarily surprised that her reputation did not precede her, but it passes quickly enough. She herself is only really familiar with Krypton in a very historical sense after all. "Home ...eventually." She begins, "First, I have been asked for a favor, one that I intend to fulfill out of a debt of gratitude."

She glances out the window at the sky for a moment in the direction she came from. "On my way here I ran into your... sister? The one that calls herself Power Girl, she told me of your trip and asked if I would be willing to give you a ride. At first I wasn't sure, while the prospect of visiting the ruins of Krypton did pique my interest, I do have a duty to my people and would not keep them waiting for frivolous sightseeing on my part. However, when pressed for details she mentioned that you would be going on this trip. As I said before your aid was invaluable during my time on Earth and I will repay this debt of gratitude by seeing you and your family safely through this ordeal. Unless you do not wish for that, I will not have another making your decisions for you."

She looks a bit confused at the mention of the Guardians, "Guardians of the Galaxy? Do you not mean the Guardians of the Universe?" She has clearly never heard of them.

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods her head. "So we're both going... home." She is a little sad that her home of course is space rubble. "My sister, yes. Power Girl," she says and folds her arms, hefting her chest a little in the process. She doesn't have a thing about it at all, nope. "She asked.. oh. Well. In that case."

Kara smiles even more, "We'd really appreciate your help. Especially to Oa. You have the most advanced ship near Earth right now. If you'd be willing to join us to Oa and Krypton then I'm not going to say no. Space travel is still a new thing to me. Krypton may have once been a large galactic empire but that was ancient history.. I know in theory how to make a space ship, but I've never made one."

She nods her head, "Yes, please, I would be delighted to take you up on your offer. And no, not the Guardians of the Universe. The Guardians of the Galaxy are an .. eclectic group. There's a tree and a furry racoon amongst their number. We could dock their ship in your cargo hold for the longer parts of the journey."

Maxima has posed:
"A tree and a furry... what is a raccoon? These are the guardians of this galaxy then? Yes, they sound quite ...eclectic. If their ship is as small as you say, that should not be an issue." There is likely a voice in the back of Maxima's head wondering just what she has gotten herself into, but a debt is a debt, even one she unilaterally decided upon herself.

"I do have to warn you though." She says, her expression growing more serious. "Even under a flag of truce, Oa will not be happy to see an Almeracian flagship or the Crown Princess of the Empire. Our relationship with the self-proclaimed Guardians of the Universe is tense at best. However, despite popular belief I am versed in diplomacy as one of my station must be, fraught as these talks are likely to become, and they also shouldn't be stupid enough to start a war."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods her head, "I hope Oa is reasonable. The Justice League here on Earth, of which many of us are members, has a good relationship with our local Green Lanterns. We're simply seeking information on what happened to our planet. They record a lot and may be they had Lanterns near by when it happened... a reasonable request from a group who fashions themselves as galactic police."

She frowns a touch, "Though there was a troubling statement that the Green Lanterns were formed to slow down Kryptonian advancement... even if that were true, that was a very very long time ago. I suppose we will all be testing diplomatic tensions with this trip. I'm sure I can count on you to be the bigger person and rebuff any attempts made to start a war."

Maxima has posed:
Maxima nods her head slowly, "The Guardians have their own vision of things and are not prone to compromising, save at the other end of equal or superior force. But you are right, they may have the information that you are looking for. Particularly if they had bad been monitoring Krypton since the days of the Kryptonian Hegemony and if they were still worried about things from that long ago, they definitely would be."

"I will not fire first." She informs Kara as far as rebuffing attempts to start a war. Which for her and her temper is not an insignificant thing. "You can talk to them, I will not intervene unless it becomes necessary. Hopefully things will remain verbal."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara smiles and rests a hand on Maxima's shoulder. "Thank you Maxima. Even though you'll be traveling back home, you should consider me your friend. Distance doesn't change that." Culturally, they are quite far apart, but Kara knows it's never easy to re-evaluate assumptions.

She's had to do a lot of that since coming to Earth. Being told from a young age how superior Krypton is.. only for it to blow up and then land on a planet that may be young but is doing incredibly well. It's all a bit confronting. She's sure Maxima knows exactly what she means when she says, "Because it's our friendships that allow us to grow."

Maxima has posed:
"Yes." Maxima agrees with Kara, a smile forming upon her face again, "I have few friends. But you are one of them." Her gaze is drawn again briefly to that memorial room before looking back to Kara. "It looks like we will be together for awhile longer still before that happens, but even after we part. Know this, if you are in trouble, and you can get a message to me, I will come. Also, what I said when we first met? You would all still be welcome to rebuild within the Almeracian Empire."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara chuckles and nods her head, "Yes. It'll be an interesting trip. Something you and the Guardians are used to doing but not for us." She nods her head, "And, I have started working on a device to allow me to contact the Guardians. I think with a few tweaks I could get it to contact Almeracia too."

She starts to explain how she intends to construct matter, strip it of its field interactions as she accelerates it to superluminal speeds and pairing it through artificial shadow states to allow her to interact with computers quite distant away.

"And then it's just a matter of implementing enough of the civilisations protocols. I got a decent look at the Guardians systems last time I was on their ship. So if you send me specifications for communications with the Almeracia networks I'll be able to interface there too," she says and asks, "When are you able to leave?"

Maxima has posed:
"I find it hard to imagine being confined to only one world. I think seeing more of the universe will be a good experience for you. There are things, places, out there that I do not think the people of this planet could even dream of. The vastness of space puts the petty squabbles between would be governments of a single planet into a very different perspective."

Maxima listens to Kara's explanation of the science behind her device with apparent interest. While many might mistake her for a simple warrior, it would seem she knows quite a bit about the advanced technologies found throughout 'civilized space'. She tilts her head to one side slightly when Kara asks her for the specifications of Almeracian networking technologies. "I could place the knowledge directly into your mind, if you like?"

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara nods her head, "You're right. And I will get there one day. However, Earth ... was chosen by my family for a reason. Perhaps, or may be, besides which.. it really needs us right now. They're on the verge of stepping in to the galactic stage and as you say, they have a lot of internal troubles still. My family can do a lot of good on this planet and.. for now, that's enough."

Kara nods her head, "You may place it directly in to my mind." She shuts her eyes, never at all prepared for this kind of communication. It's still so new to her. Computer Brain interfaces were a natural thing on Krypton. But Brain to Brain? wild!

Maxima has posed:
For the Imperial Family of the Almeracian Empire, telepathy comes as naturally as breathing. Maxima nods her head when Kara gives her assent, looks towards, and suddenly the knowledge is there as if she had already learned about such things.

"Yes," Maxima nods at Kara's words, "This planet certainly is... unique. In any event, now you have the means to contact me. My ship is in orbit. Send me a message when you are ready to depart. I have one or two other stops to make first."

Kara Danvers has posed:
Kara smiles and rises up off the ground again and floats to the elevator to see Maxima out, "Thank you for dropping by Maxima. I look forward to the trip with you. My family. Those Guardians of the Galaxy too. It shall be .... interesting." She clears her throat, "Though more of a pilgrimage for me."

Maxima has posed:
"Pilgrimages of that sort are very valuable. It is important to never forget where you came from. I am sure that your ancestors will be pleased." Maxima replies as she floats to the elevator with Kara and then turning, rockets back out and away through the sky.
