Date of Scene: 19 February 2021
Location: Central Park
Synopsis: Megan gets mugged. A Superboy comes to her rescue.
Cast of Characters: Megan Gwynn, Conner Kent

Megan Gwynn has posed:
It's early in the evening and the sun is just starting to go down when Megan returns from some late night shopping at the mall to buy her dress for the Sadie Hawkins, moments before the store closes.

After having finished a double shift so she can afford the expensive dress, now folded neatly in a pink paper bag swinging at her side, she cuts across a shady part of the park, too tired to pay attention to the group of drunken teenagers who leer at the girl with pink hair and wings as she hurries home.

"Hey there fairy girl, need some company?" they sneer, a dangerous, hungry look in their eyes.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner spent the cold Friday afternoon in the mall purchasing clothes too. For space. He needs to look good, right. Truth is he plans to wear a superhero outfit most of the time, but someone mentioned a redheaded space princess. So yeah.

He has a bag too, and there is a moment of face palming when he hears the drunken guys. They better not be people he knows from college. Then he spots Megan. Wait, wings? He slides closer, a frown appearing in his brow.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn sighs, shivering a bit in her green pea coat as a wind rustles her bright pink hair. She was tired of hiding her wings under her clothes after many instances of having to fling them off in emergencies, tired of hiding, tired of pretending..But the states and jeers sucked too.

So the pink haired faerie girl dies her best to ignore them, quickening her pace, wishing she'd worn something thicker than a plain black tshirt and jeans under her thin coat. Darn weather man hadn't mentioned strong winds and a late snow storm on the horizon..

"Come on, strawberry shortcake, don't ignore us..We don't like being ignored!" they're following her now, five of them with knives, a gun or two. In this part of the park, there are fewer people to see, to calm for help. They're slowly cornering her and Megan quickens her pace anxiously. Darrnn, she should just port home but sooo tired..Maybe they'll get bored.

She doesn't realize they're herding her, leading her into a trap, doesn't even notice the thug waiting at the end of the path to greet her as he suddenly grabs her arm, tossing her bag to the ground, stomping on it. "Cone on girlie, let's have some fun!" he snarls.

Conner Kent has posed:
Okay, no one Conner knows. In fact the thugs seem aggressively dangerous now, which means they are very stupid. That girl has wings, and that means she is a super, and that means she could shoot laser beams from her nose or whatever.

But in the case she can't, this looks like a job for super-Conner. "Hey you," he says loudly, stepping into the path, "what the hell? Leave her alone man, or I am going to break your nose."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Well she certainly doesn't have lasers shooting out of her nose, and maybe all she has are those cute wings. Either way, Megan gasps as the guy grabs her wrist, and while she is no martial artist, she did learn a thing or two as an xman about basic self defense. She narrows her eyes, twisting her wrist against his thumb joint and steps back. "Back off mister before I get serious!" she eyes the tossed bag with her dress in it, but she knows the punk won't back off easily, especially when he growls, pulling out a knife.

Fortunately that's when Conner steps in to intervene, but three of the other punks rush at him with metal pipes and knives. One even has a gun, shooting at him once his buddies are out of the way. "Stay out of this, bub!"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Woah," Conner is a bit surprised that they attack him outright instead of trying to intimidate him first. Even shooting him? Not just muggers and maybe rapists, but murderers. Fine.

He punches first, because he is too fast for most normal humans to have even a chance to avoid him. The first punk takes a hit to his chest, and although Conner hits him with the palm of the hand, everyone can hear how four or five ribs break, and the thug is sent back flying. The second guy gets backhanded as if he was ragdoll. Then he is shoot.

And he just smirks, taking a few steps forward and smashing the face of the shooter. Very much breaking his nose. "You tried to kill me for getting in the way? Man, you are going to be a long time in a hospital."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Okaay, they totally weren't expecting that. Two of them fly back outright, then stumble to their feet running, except for the guy who probably broke a rib or something. He just groans and tries to hobble away with help from one of his fleeing friends. The bullets harmlessly bounce off Conner's chest and he blinks in surprise, not fleeing fast enough before his face is smashed, blood spraying everywhere. "Gah! Dont kill me!" he shrieks and stumbles back but likely won't get very far.

The guy who grabbed Megan's wrist snarls, attempting to grab her around the neck, holding the knife to her throat. "Back off freak, or she gets it!" but it seems Megan has other plans, eyes narrowed as she thrusts her hips back, arms forward and steps on his toes hard. They may not be spiked heels but her heeled boots are still quite painful, enough for him to Yelp and let go, briefly stunned. "Youuuch! You're gonna pay for that!" he growls.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner grunts, lips pursed. He proceeds to break the wrist of the gunman, forcing him to drop the handgun, "I'm not killing you, but I am going to make sure you are not shooting anyone for a while."

But before he breaks anything else another thug is threatening to kill the winged girl. These guys are something else. Maybe they are from Gotham visiting New York. He lounges, again impossibly fast, and grabs the back of the thug's jacket, yanking him off Megan. "Yeah? Do you take debit cards?" He smashes the thug against a tree trunk. "The hell is wrong with you?" It is really not a good day to anger Conner, just yesterday he had to rescue one of his friends from a band of super-rich criminals wanting to hook her to a machine for life to exploit her powers.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
"Gah!"the shooter shrieks in pain as his wrist is broken, and he and the one who attacked Megan both flee, joining their punk friends. Megan's eyes widen in a bit of fear as she watches after the bloodied and beaten thugs. "W-woah...Err.." she eyes Conner a bit warily, maybe even nervously at how effortlessly he broke their bones. Better not tick him off!

"Thanks?" she seems nervous, hey being a glass canon is not funn..

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner hrms as the thugs still manage to limp away. "If you want to present charges at the police precinct, I can stop them," he offers, picking up Megan's bag and offering it to her. "It is always a hassle for supers, but they might try to mug another girl in a month or two."

He sighs, seeing Megan seems scared of him too. "Hey, I am Conner. I am not going to hurt you, okay? I have enhanced strength, so I can handle creeps like those easy."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn watches as the thugs manage to hobble away. Really, she should call the police but.."Oh noooo, my dress!" she rushes to the dropped bag, checking its contents with a look of worry. "Oooh nooo, it's a bit torn and muddied. I hope I can fix this.." she glances back at him, nodding and smiling faintly, "Thank you, Conner, you're really strong, huh? I'm Megan, nice to meet you! I guess I lucked out, huh?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Maybe," replies Conner. "There are hundreds of super-heroes in the city, and those guys fired a gun. I mean... could be dumber? A couple were drunk, but really," he shrugs. "Anyway, glad to help. Nice wings, too. Are you able to fly with those?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn giggles and nods, "Well that's true but I guess not everyone is bullet proof.." she clutches her bag tightly, checking herself over for any injuries and frowns a bit at the bruises on her wrist where the baddie grabbed her. "Hmm? Oh yeah, I can fly pretty well actually! You too? Cool! Is there anything you can't do?" she peers at him thoughtfully, dragonfly wings seeming to glistens and shimmer a bright green as she unfurls them. "I suppose I could have just flown home, just, I was pretty tired after a long day of double shift work then running to the mall before they closed..But now.." she smiles, glancing skyward. Looks like it's getting colder and darker too.

Conner Kent has posed:
"I didn't say I..." Conner hehs. "Yes, I can fly. And really, there is no reason why you couldn't walk home if you wanted. I was just curious," he glances back, "and those guys have managed to escape. But there is going to be a lot of cops here in a minute and they will want to know about the gunshots." And the gun is still on the floor, so at least they will have it and the thug's fingerprints.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn ooohs, "Really? That's cool..Soo how fast can you fly?" she eyes him thoughtfully, noting his rather nice physique and smiles, blushing a bit. "Ooh sorry, guess I was just curious. I don't know a lot of fliers so it's kinda interesting, always wanted to test my own limits against someone else."

She glances towards the gun on the floor and the fleeing thugs. "Hmm, I'd rather not have to answer questions..Not everyone likes mutants.." Megan bites her lip uncertainly..

Conner Kent has posed:
"I am not sure, faster than a fighter jet but not as fast as Flash," replies Conner, hovering a few feet into the air. "Want to come? Otherwise you are going to have to talk with the cops," because people is coming, gunshots draw attention. "So you are mutant? Cool. I have a couple mutant friends, but not that many given now most superhumans are mutants."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods, grabbing the bag tightly, joining him in the air as she flutters her wings quickly. "Hey, it's a nice night for flying, count me in!" she bites her lip again, nodding uncertainly as he addresses her mutation, but knowing he has mutant friends does cause her relax, besides he did save her life right? "Yeah...It's pretty scary being a mutant these days. I'll bet those punks wanted to hurt me cuz I'm a mutant, more than wanting to mug me.."

Conner Kent has posed:
"They didn't say, but idiots tend to target those who are different. It makes them feel more part of the tribe, because they know they are useless for the tribe," comments Conner. He flashes a tense smile. "And of course, they have never talked to a mutant for five minutes."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn nods, "I guess that's true. Oh well, we showed them, huh?" she smiles, "Soooo are you a mutant too, or..?" she peers at him curiously, as if trying to size-him up. "Though you talk like you're something else." she shrugs, "But even so, how about we head to that rooftop over there? It's got a nice view of the city, and we can avoid the cops from there. We're you on the way to somewhere?"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Yeah, I am part alien," admits Conner, heading for the rooftop Megan pointed. "And I was just going back home, just that. No plans, although I have some college work to finish. I can walk you home, fly you home? If you want. Not likely you get attacked by muggers if you fly, though."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn oohs, "You're part alien? Like Martian Manhunter and Superman? But probably more like Superman right, unless you're a shape shifter?" she giggles and shakes her head, "Sorry, never met an alien before! Soo, you live around here?" she nods, "Sure, I mean...Umm..." well, flying her home would mean going to Xavier's but maybe he can drop her off somewhere close by? "Sure, though maybe I can catch my breath up there for a bit first?" she's already flying towards the rooftop she'd pointed out before, "Come on!"

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner was already heading towards the rooftop, but he slows down to wait for Megan. He was worried she could be in shock, but she seems fine and pretty carefree. "There are a lot of alien heroes, yeah," he agrees. "And I live nearby, in Greenwich Village, actually. I go to the ESU. Are you a college student, too?"

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and nods, "Yeah, first year college, I live in..Umm Westchester County.." she bites her lip, not wanting to say too much more though as they make their way to the rooftop. It really is quite a lovely view from up here though. "Soo, what are you taking? Are you first year too? it's Soo much different from highschool, kinda, intimidating.."

Conner Kent has posed:
"Oh, that is like twenty miles north, not exactly a stroll," replies Conner. "You okay here? Is it not too cold?" He considers giving her the leather jacket, but that would impede her wings. "Just starting the second year. But so far so good. I like the college life, that is why I moved to stay close to the campus."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn steps towards the edge, peering at the skyline below. "Yeah, it's a bit far still, I guess I lost track of time. It'll be okay though, just need to rest up a bit first." she shrugs, wrapping her jacket more tightly around her shoulders, "Hehe after I start flying, I'll warm up pretty soon.." she nods, "Well that's cool, I'll bet you're one of those super smart, hard workers Hmm?"

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner laughs. "Nah, I am normal smarts. But I don't need to sleep much, so I can party and still do my homework. Hey, listen," he reaches for the inner pocket of his jacket, pulling out a blank card and a pen. "If you want to see the ESU campus, I can show you. Call me," he scribbles 'Conner Kent' and a phone number on the card. "Or if you want company for flying, for that matter."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles and shrugs, "Well, not needing to sleep much helps alot I guess. I'm sooo tired from all this studying, but I guess it'll pay off in the long run, right? Just wish I could figure out what I really wanna do with my life."

She peers curiously as he scribbles a note, arching a brow. "Oh, really you dont mind?" still, it gets a little giggle and nods from her. "Thanks! That sounds like fun." Megan takes the card, slipping it into the pocket as she peers around. "Hmm, I guess I gotta go..That way, phew, it's so dark now though, and cold, but, it'll only get colder. Up for a short flight?"

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner grins at the winged girl, "oh sure, how could I mind spending time with a pretty girl? Besides, not many of my close friends can fly." It is cold and getting dark, it is true. "Well, if it is too dark to get to Westchester, and too cold for the flight there, at least we can go to the Central Station and you can get a train there, hmm? I can guide you to the station blindfolded. C'mon."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn smiles a bit shyly, blushing clearly, "Ooh, you really think I'm pretty?" she laughs nervously at that. "Ummm, thanks..." she smiles, spreading her wings again, hovering a few feet up in the air. "I mean not that I mind the cold or dark, just means we should leave soon..And afterall, I have something that can light the way!" you know, besides her sparkly wings, although they're not specifically luminescent, only really light reflective.

"Check this out!" and she clenches her fist, focusing on her chest as she summons a glowing dagger, pulling it out of her chest. "There we go, instant light!"

Conner Kent has posed:
"I do, I mean it," replies Conner, floating after the mutant girl. He glances at the dagger and hrms. "You must have a very good night vision to be able to fly using that. I mean, even a flashlight would give more light, and still be pretty useless if flying ten yards high and slowly. Normal people would need the equivalent to a car headlights minimum, and still would get lost if they don't follow major roads."

Because, yes, happened to him until his super-sight developed. "Oh, there are a few nifty smartphone apps a flying can use to navigate, too."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks, "Oh! I never considered that.." actually, she probably hasn't tried this before and this is probably the first time. "I mean if I werent so tired, teleporting's definitely the best way to go, but when my mind's a mess, I tend to port off-kilter." She pouts a bit. "Okaaay smart guy, let's do it your way..Station it is!"

Conner Kent has posed:
"Wait, teleport?" Conner uhs, that sure beats flying. But too tired? "Well, look. If you really want to, I can carry you to any town in Westchester. I do have a good eyesight and navigation apps in my cellphone. Plus I am really fast. I don't want you to fall sleep in the train if you are so tired."

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn blinks. Again he has a point. "Oooh, I..I suppose so, but, um...I dont really live in a town, just more of a uh....House in the country? But, um...I'm not really allowed to have visitors...Sooo maybe let's just go a little ways from where I gotta go? I'm sure I can fly the rest of the way back on my own." Yeah, weird huh.

Conner Kent has posed:
Conner nods. "That is fine; just tell me where you want to go." He pulls out a fancy-looking Starkphone from his jacket pockets and types the address Megan wants to give him. "Getting mugged is never good. Adrenaline spike, and then a crash, which I guess is why you are now so tired. Although really, next time just teleport right away while in the adrenaline high."

She could also have pixie-dusted the muggers, but Conner doesn't know that. Having those thugs chasing imaginary unicorns would have been fun, though.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn probably could have done a lot of things if she wasn't dead exhausted and pushed into a corner and all pumped full of adrenaline, which is only now starting to wear off leaving her feeling a bit weak in the knees. "Hmmm...OKay, here..."

She will give him the address of a nearby gas station..Which is...Admittedly weird, but, far enough away that he wont easily find the Xavier institute, but close enough for her to fly there once she's rested up a bit. "Hmm, you really dont mind uh, carrying me? How fast can you fly, anyway?"

Megan smiles, eyeing him curiously.

Conner Kent has posed:
"Told you," points out Conner, "faster than a jet fighter," and once he has the gas station as coordinates in the smartphone the main difficulties is getting their bags somewhere so he can take Megan in his arms and fly her there.

Which is really fast, and yet somehow she is protected from the wind-chill, as if he was projecting an invisible forcefield around her.

He honestly doesn't mind at all carrying Megan to Westchester Country. Not even a little.

Megan Gwynn has posed:
Megan Gwynn grins, "One of these days, when I'm not half-dead, I'll totally challenge you to a race!" hey, she once outran a missile..Though depends on what kind of missile. Still. Megan yawns as he picks her up, something that might make her blush terribly but it's probably a good thing he did, because moments later, she's....Fallen asleep?
