Negasonic has posed:
Ellie's circumstance was different from most students, what with her having been a mutate slave in Genosha, and later being saved from Genosha's wreckage after the attack of the Sentinels. It meant that unlike most kids at Xavier's, she wasn't as social. Kept mostly to herself. Been very opinionated about humans versus mutants, and most importantly, didn't give as much respect to the faculty and adults in the Mansion. Sure, she could be reasoned with, and most faculty had the ability to reign her in if things got out of hand. But that didn't keep her away from causing trouble, whether intentionally or inadvertantly.

When Emma Frost was introduced to the student body as a new teacher at the beginning of the semester, Ellie didn't care, not about the new teacher, and not about whatever it is she was to teach them. She just skipped on those classes, figuring a new teacher wouldn't notice just the one missing student. But she was wrong, because eventually she did get called to a meeting with the new teacher.

Dressed in her usual all blacks, chains, studs combat boots and dark makeup, decorated with a multitude of piercings, Ellie added the touch of shades to hide her eyes as she walked in to the room. She doesn't announce herself, she just looks at Emma and asks, "can we get it over with quickly?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Trust me, doing it quickly isn't going to help you or me." Emma says, looking up from her computer as Ellie enters the room. Not surprised by the 'sudden' appearance of the teenager, but she knows that look well enough. The biggest tell is the sunglasses. People think they're getting away with something when their eyes are covered, but so far, Emma has only met one person that look really works for.

    Maybe two.

"I'm not going to bullshit you Ellie. I figure you think my words are flat meaningless and have little weight because of what you presume I've been through in life compared to yourself. And truly, what I know of you and your past, you're beyond validated in having such views of me and others." Emma looks into Ellie's face, not just vaguely at her, but deeply, as if the sunglasses weren't there and Emma could see each pulsing vein and capillary in those bloodshot eyes.

Emma breaks that look to push her chair back away from the desk, and the woman wearing an ivory white double breasted suit with a touch of deep red in the accents, returns her gaze to Ellie. "I'm not going to bemoan about the ideals of Charles or anyone else, but I will bemoan the effects of actually giving a damn."

Negasonic has posed:
"Really...?" Ellie groans, one can almost feel the eye-roll behind her shades. At least Ellie is smart enough to listen and not just walk out, as she stands there, looking at Emma as she talks. If anything, she's at least encouraged by Emma actually understanding where she's coming from, because that doesn't happen often.

"...we both know that nobody out there gives a fuck about mutants, I mean, maybe I'm too young to know much about politics, but I do know that Senator Kelly is real, and people who believe in him are real...whatever I learn or don't, what humans want for us is what I had in Genosha, slavery. Use us to their own ends, and keep us locked up when not needed...so why give a dman?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"'Why give a damn?'" Emma repeats once, looking away briefly as if in thought, but she's just finding the best way to put her words in order to have the most impact on Ellie. "Because when you don't give a damn, someone else who does will decide your fate for you. You become a slave again without even putting up a fight." Emma says as matter of factly as if she's seen it before.

    Maybe she has.

    Maybe she hasn't.

"When you don't give a damn, people like Senator Kelly, people like Mystique, people like ..." Emma stops herself as memories flood her briefly before recovering. "People who do give a damn have more power over you. This isn't as simple as skipping class, it's skipping over the power you could have over your future, over the future of mutant and human kind. You skip class so you can live for the now, you fail that class. The main thing I want you to learn from my classes isn't business economics, or how best to use your powers for whatever reason, it's how to master your impulses and to learn self respect. If you master yourself, you'll never be a slave again."

Negasonic has posed:
Ellie nods at Emma as she repeats her question, as far as Ellie is concerned, it's a perfectly good question that one cannot honestly answer. Not satisfactorily, well, at least not in her mind. But Emma gives one answer that does strike at Ellie, enough to get her to actually think about it. Really think, because for a few moments, Ellie is just standing still, in silece.

"Who the fuck is Mystique...?" Ellie clearly doesn't know everything like she would lead just about anyone to believe, sure, she may look at the news more than the average teen, but it's largely a result of some of it not being avoidable online, where she reigns as a Twitter Warlord.

"I can dig that last thing you said..." Ellie eventually admits, before asserting, "I will never be a slave again, to anyone. I've had more than enough of that. People who enslave others should all just die."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Who she is doesn't matter. She's just an example." Emma says with a wave of her hand, surprised silently at the other teachers for not teaching those at the school about their living and very close to home history. That does draw a roll of Emma internal eye.

Emma leans forward to put her elbows on the desk and she laces her fingers before her face as she looks back into those black lenses of Ellie's sunglasses. "Established. You don't want to be a slave. That's easier and harder than you might possibly imagine. Lets take a step in a more positive direction. What /do/ you want to be?" Emma asks, showing her own self control by not lifting an eyebrow in a fit of emphasis.

Negasonic has posed:
"Okay..." Ellie is more than happy to ignore whoever that person is supposed to be, "for the record, the name is pretty dope."

Ellie is a bit surprised when Emma asks her a question about herself, not quite used to that approach from teachers, she thinks a moment, and then murmurs quietly, "...you want an honest answer...? Or will I get in trouble?"

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma ignores the name comment and is more focused on the pressing issue of Ellie opening up and being a touch vulnerable. She does drop her face into that RBF that she's mastered in her time around old wrinkly rich white men, and it surprisingly works roughly the same on teenagers in school. "What kind of teacher would I be if I told you to lie to me. Don't be afraid to show who you want to be, how else would you handle being her? If that wasn't clear, be honest around me Ellie."

Negasonic has posed:
"I don't know...a normal one?" Ellie gives her attempt to answer that one, for the most part she doesn't really trust teachers. Ellie still seems uncertain, she rather expects to be punished if she was truthful, but Emma is quite the master at appearing trust worthy, and has a way of easing one's concerns, so eventually Ellie quips, "I want to be revenge..."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma blinks once at that, repeating it in her head, turning it this way and that, like Ellie just dropped off a Rubik's cube and the teacher has to solve it, or risk loosing the soul of her student. Or at least the respect of a student.

"You want to be revenge." Emma repeats aloud once, and then, does one of the oldest tricks in the book, "What do you mean by that?" Trying to help Ellie find the words to her desires and goals. Things become easier to understand and then achieve once you have them out in the world. Emma's found. Plus she might be willing to help. She didn't outright reject or recoil from the idea.

Negasonic has posed:
"Yes, that's what I said," Ellie remains cool as a cucumber as she repeats the words, from the way she doesn't shift her neck in the slightest, one can assume her gaze, hidden behind the shades, is fixated on Emma. She fully expects to pay a price for saying the truth. When she gets asked what does she mean by that, Ellie's head lowers just a tiny bit, before she shakes her head ever so faintly, "please don't pull psychology bullshit on me, I've seen enough therapists, and I'm not the problem, ok?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"You're jumping to conclusions about me based on reactions you've had in the past. I don't fault you for that, but you've never talked to me, probably don't assume I'm like those idiots you've talked to before." Emma says, lowering her hands to take her elbows off the desk but keep them still laced. She's not as 'defensive' in posture as she was, she's more open to ideas that Ellie might throw her, or that's how her current position might read. "To be clear, I never said there was a problem. I just want to know what you mean, or at least, what you think you mean."

Negasonic has posed:
"True, I never talked to you before, but I've been sent to enough therapist I know where that question leads to..." Ellie offers with an audible sigh, "...they all want to fix me like I'm broken." Smirking, Ellie quips, "you're right about that, they were all idiots."

Ellie stares at Emma through her sunglasses for another moment in silence, before groaning, "I'm going to regret this, aren't I?" She then takes a deep breath, clenches her hands to fists, and just lets out, "I want to hurt as many of them as I can for what they did to me, to my friends, and to my country, ok?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Okay." Emma says simply, leaning back in her chair and unlacing her fingers as she pulls her arms back to rest upon the armrests, the look on her face isn't fear, or horror, but simple, recognition, and understanding. "How do you plan on doing this?" Emma asks rather bluntly, "Do you want to only cause physical harm, or do you want to destroy the whole system that allowed such horrors and travesties to occur?" D-Does she have something in mind herself?!

Negasonic has posed:
To be frank, Ellie is quite surprised she's not being dragged to see the Professor over this, and she can respect that much. Maybe Emma wasn't lying to her after all, "well...I thought maybe if I can master my powers enough, I can just destroy anything they care about, see how they like it when destruction is rained down on them..." Ellie offers, and it very much sounds like the plan a teen would concut, really no deep thought given to it. Just rage seeking an outlet. "I mean, if I destroy the White House and the Senate, wouldn't that stop assholes like Senator Kelly?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Nope." Again, flat and to the point. "Think what comes after that. Sure Kelly might be dead, but those that follow him would be beyond galvanized that mutants are the absolute worst. Then what, they come for you, they come for the school. They come for hambone and mutant town." Emma says, thinking it beyond a few extra steps that Ellie might not have thought about herself. "It would stop /that/ asshole Kelly, but there's always more and worse assholes out there." Emma explains. "Now, to bring this full circle." Emma smirks as if she'd planned this all along. "Show up to your classes, and I'll show you how to really hurt these f*****s."

Negasonic has posed:
Ellie hates to admit she's wrong, ever, but Emma does a pretty good job of showing her just how much disaster her initial plan could bring. Flustered, she looks downwards at her combat boots, shuffling a bit uncomfortably, before snapping, "I get it, I get it, my plans suck..." but then before she can keep fending for herself, Emma is already somehow turning it into the best sales pitch on why she should show up to class. Ellie pulls her shades down the bridge of her nose, looking at Emma with her blue eyes, all surprised. "...fine, I'll be there next class, can I go now...?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"If you're done. If not, you're free to stay." Emma says, looking back at her computer and then towards Ellie once more with a soft smirk, visible only because of the red painted lipstick the blonde wears.

Negasonic has posed:
Ellie stands there for a moment, and then just nods, as she turns to leave, "...thanks for not ratting me out," she adds on her way out. Maybe Emma was a cool teacher after all.
