Cast of Characters: Blake Riviere, Ariah Olivie

Blake Riviere has posed:
Cold and dark...it wasn't some great tomb, it was simply the city! With winter offering some parting blows by by way of snow and the resulting cold hampering people's ability to enjoy the nightlife Blake had decided to fall back on the usual practice of dealing with such things: A night in! Of course, such would be boring without company and so she'd sent a simple message out to her faithful daughter to join her. A far cry from the feasts in castles past, Blake was currently setting the table in her penthouse with a furrowed brow.

Nice cutlery and wine glasses might pretty it up, but she'd been neglecting to buy more traditional food of late in favor of her 'dietry requirements'. At this rate? She was probably going to be ordering a delivery.

Ariah Olivie has posed:
The delivery that comes, at this point, isn't a pizza. It's an Ariah. And at the least, New York City isn't Gotham. That would be more like a snowy tomb. The petite vampiress arrives on time for dinner, even if there isn't quite that much to eat just yet, and sees herself in. Fur-collared coat with a hood, knee-high boots that match, and a black skirt to go with a simple thin-stringed cami. All that remains is to slip off her gloves.

"Pleasant evening?" she asks quietly, gingerly plucking her fingers free of her gloves.

Blake Riviere has posed:
Blake herself was dressed for indoors. A short black backless dress, her hair pinned back and a pair of silver earrings to complement the outfit...even if they did have to be clip-ons. When the vampiress arrives? There's a smile, a gentle peck on each cheek before the elder immortal steps back with a laugh. "Better for you being here my love, but sadly...I am less prepared than I thought. While my lifespan hasn't made me a culinary expert, I have however grasped that one -does- need food to be able to prepare it."

A light click of her tongue, the raven-haired vampire shrugs. "I at least have a bottle of wine...red amusingly."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
Ariah basks in the gentle affections, then takes Blake's hands, squeezing them momentarily before stepping in further. "It is not a normal need for us," she states quietly. "If you have red, then we would need to pair it with meats and cheeses. White is best suited for fish and poultry..." she explains. It's off the top of her head, she was born to a winery after all. A lifetime or two ago. "Which is to say..." she ponders. "...we could order something as rich as steak and vegetables... or a charcuterie board.... or simply a good cheeseburger..." she muses aloud, still expressionless.

Blake Riviere has posed:
French nobility, and here was Blake being lectured about wine! The novelty wasn't lost on her as her lips quirk to a smile, shrugging her shoulders. "Well then, since I have yet to perform my duties as a hostess to you, at the very least I should ask you which dish it is you prefer? After all, you were so kind as to travel through the snow for me. It would only be fair."

Blake moves, lazily tracing her way back to the kitchen bench where her phone rests and idly opening up the search engine. "It is a shame most places do not let you pick your delivery person, no?" the woman jests, "It might have made for a quick dessert."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"I would almost suggest Chinese," Ariah states, half-teasing. "...unfortunately my usual location is on the other side of the island. They have a delivery girl who is very familiar with my... requirements..." she states, straight-faced. There is a small shrug, though, as the tiny sorceress follows her elder into the kitchen. "Do we feel fancy?" she asks, looking between Blake and herself, their attire. "The luck of the draw would be even for fancy or not, in regards to who brings us our food."

Blake Riviere has posed:
"This is true," Blake muses, absently scrolling on her phone. "There is a place or two with serving staff whom have been coaxed to make some donations in the past, but otherwise..." she trails off, chuckling at the thought of Ariah's comment examined in greater detail. "If merely blood was what we wanted, I'm sure we could try one of those 'dating apps', if not call a friend or two I could think of. But a meal in a more traditional sense is more about taste..."

Consideration given, the phone is offered to Ariah with a nod. "Oui, I feel fancy."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"If we were hurting for it we could simply drink something bland and uninteresting..." Ariah says quietly, blinking at the phone is handed to her. She stares at it like it's going to rear up and bite her before looking at the screen. "...you know how much I dislike these devices..." she exhales a quiet sigh. "Cut of beef and roasted vegetables, then?" she asks. "With cheesecake if the delivery person does not make for a suitable dessert?" she adds.

Blake Riviere has posed:
"We have had to make our own sacrifices," Blake muses, chuckling a little and crossing her arms under her bust as Ariah works on procuring the dinner. "I'm sure we will manage to make the most of it." Tilting her head to the side, the vampiress exhales a breath. "Yes...I think the cheesecake is a must..."

Ariah Olivie has posed:
"Cherry topped, marbled with chocolate?" Ariah asks, brow furrowed as she attempts to make an online order, gently poking the phone with her fingertip every so often. "Appetizer choice?" she asks. "...bread comes with... melted cheese is good..." she's half-asking Blake and half just sort of going on her own. "It will ultimately be pleasant because we are together," she looks up, nodding to her dark-haired elder.
