Michael Hannigan has posed:
For a condo that houses two people in the music industry, Wade and Mike's place is quiet yet again. The instruments save for the keyboard and violin are packed away. The tv, still off and Wade is- Well, not at the condo leaving the place all to Mike.

So what is Mike doing with all this quiet? heating up water in a tea kettle and reading a book.

Wooh! Party animal!

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym finally finished off the last of the pot roast leftovers, a delicious process. The biochemist in him of course understands the process, proteins degrade. Minimal bacterial activity breaking the meat down further. Whatever, it's delicious. Mages are light eaters. Then again he's eaten with Pietro and Thor. After a day to rest amd make sure it's for real he took a walk over to Wade and Mike's condo. Of course texting first. Wade didn't care for him surprising them the other day.

The miserable February weather had blown away and it was a clear day. Arriving, he taps on the door.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Hearing the knock, a worn copy of 'A Tale of Two Cities' is lowered. Face no longer blocked, Mike glances over to the door before getting off the sofa. The index finger of his book holding hand slides between the pages, marking his spot while he walks over.

The text ahead of time was nice, it allowed for a quicker time of determing who was at the door with a glance to the peep hole and the undoing of a lock before entrance could be permitted.

Seeing the doctor, a relaxed smile fixes upon his features. "Hey Hank. Come in. Kettle's heating up."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym is not wearing his usual costume, back in his reddish brown suit and black tea, wrap around shades worn up on is forehead.

"Tea would be nice. Thank you. I need that pot roast recipe of yours... probably need to tweak it for the plasma tap. I wish I hadn't given my cookware to Vivian. I want to throw a dinner for mages and scientists. We work together all the time all the time in my aheh job but we know very little about each other. We both study the Universe in our own ways."

Hank looks around for Wade, warily. "A Tale of Two Cities... 'It was the best of times... it was the worst of times...' Story of my life."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike waits for Hank to get inside before closing the door behind him. "Sure. It's a really easy one. Slow cooker does most of the work. Just have to provide the patience to not eat too early and adjust the cook time based on the size of the roast."

He glances to the book at the mention of the first line. "It was the age of wisdom. It was the age of foolishness." Mike adds the second part, "... I think the introduction covers most everyone in some way."

He glances over to the table, reaching over to grab a small notepad that hadn't been cleared off yet to slide it into the gap. "Had a vocal practice piece that kind of gave me the urge to pick it up again."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym nods. "I had an accelerated course through high school. STEM over literature. I've begun to regret that. I never read this book. I really stopped reading fiction for technical manuals and texts at an early age. I was reading by two-three. Then my damned father thought he was on to something and began managing everything I did."

"In the far away island of Sala-ma-sond, Yertle the Turtle was king of the pond... a nice little pond it was clean... it was neat... the water was warm... there was plenty to eat... And the turtles were happy quite happy in deed. Till Yertle the Turtle, the kin of them all, decided the kingdom he ruled was too small...' Could have been talking about Latveria. Seuss was a sorely under appreciated philosopher."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Ah." Mike glances down to it, thumb rubbing the cover "Well, I own this copy if you want to borrow it sometime."

As the kettle starts to whistle, Mike sets the book down on the kitchen table before walking over to the counter area next to the stove, swinging open a cabinet. An orange bottle rests to the right of the lower shelf but to the left of it, a box of chamomile and box of green, some hot cocoa packets, and instant coffee (the horror).

"My best of times became the worst of times, I had a bit of foolishness and in the schoolboard's wisdom I was asked not to come back so... I was homeschooled for a sizable portion of the high school years."

He shrugs. Reaching up to grab the green tea box with one hand while the other reaches over to turn off the burner.

"...I don't think I read the one with Yertle the Turtle."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym shrugs. "I guess it said something to 3 year old Henry Pym. I wish the good doctor shared some wisdom about parenting or living with BPD or -how hard doing the right thing is. But despite all the problems I still have, I am at least here to deal with them. The Queen is beaten. I can breathe a little. Think about fixing my house. Helping the Shannons and the other who asked me. Maybe be a dad again if that ship hasn't sailed."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Cabinet left open, Mike turns to grab a couple of mugs and set them before the box of tea. "I'm not even sure Seuss could help with that. Parenting, hell disorders. It's kind of a case by case thing, isn't it?"

He rips a packet open, grabbing hold of the tag to lower the bag into one of the mugs. "Look at the difference between Rod and Shannon. One spent most of his life in a bunker and the other -" He grimaces, "Yeesh."

He shakes his head as he preps the other tea bag. "I think you're doing better than some fathers."

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym shrugs and then says, "Thanks. Talk about special cases hunh? An assassin trained genius who gave herself super powers. I don't regret hiding my sickness from her. I was trying to spare her. She's put herself in far more danger already doing the same, and for less reason than I had. It's hard to raise a superhero. Maybe I should talk to Reed Richards. I wish Saeko was here. No offense to you Mike but... she made me feel like I had a place in this world. I don't always. Maybe I just need to look harder. Maybe no one has any place except what they make for themselves." He looks at the mug in his hands intently.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike glances back to Hank, giving a slight smile. "Everyone's got a place somewhere, Hank. Some have several. It's just a number of us have a longer distance to walk to get to it." He reaches over to grab the kettle to start pouring the steaming hot water into the mugs. "But instead of focusing on the destination. Enjoy the journey."

Setting the tea kettle down, he grabs the mugs and turns. Handing one over to Hank. "Sofa's probably more comfortable. I think there's a B-movie marathon going on one of the stations..."
