Cast of Characters: Raven Darkholme, Rogue, Logan Howlett

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The sun hasn't set, not yet, but the sky is filled with the most beautiful shade of orange to soft indigo and onto majestic purples with strong shadows off the few clouds in the skies. The woods are still filled with the newly formed life of crickets and the chirrups of young wolf pups deeper into the woods. There is a large wolf that has been seen around more and more lately with some recurring frequenly as a certain shapeshifter is getting more and more brave and curious.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had been asked to retrieve a drone that a student got stock up in a tree. It's a super expensive Millennium Falcon drone with light up engine and windows and such, so the kids were insistent that someone go get it before it got lost and broken for forever. So, being one of the few around who is not vertically challenged, Rogue went out over the lake to the little island with the two trees on it that the kid's call 'Skyrim Island' because it looks like a--nevermind.

Rogue floated out to it and retrieved the disc-shaped Star Wars drone and was now on her way back. She walks through the edge of the woods and is not far from Logan's cabin, actually considering a detour to check in on him, she looks curiously up toward his cabin.

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan sits on his porch, enjoying the evening. The burly, sturdily built man sits back in an old chair, repaired numerous times with his own rough hands. A cup of coffee sits on the table beside him, and he leans back as he focuses as much as he can on the battered and dog-eared book in his hands. Now and again he glances up, taking in the sight of the colors changing on the horizon, and for the moment, at least, the man feels content.

His nostrils flare as he catches Rogue's scent, however, and he glances over in her direction. He spots her and raises a hand to give her a bit of a wave. He closes his book (Desolation Angels by Jack Kerouac) and sets it aside. He hasn't caught the scent of the 'wolf' just yet.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The large wolf has wandered up near Logan's cabin as she's done a few times these past few days, stealing simple enough provisions to help her through the days. And now that she's successfully unloaded a suicase of cash and a cache of guns, the shapeshifter is still approaching.

At the side of the wall when she finally spots Logan the wolf freezes it's motion, appearing wild as she can and has practiced for years.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue spies Logan up there near his private little cabin home and it makes her smile. She reaches up to wave a gloved hand at him and turns to start up the pathway that winds up to the cabin's front lawn area, with the big foam Falcon hanging at her side. Rogue is about to speak out to Logan when the arrival of a /wolf/ makes her head turn to it. She stares right at the animal and her eyes go a bit wide. She's not exactly afraid for her life, but seeing an animal like /that/ is no small joke for the safety of the other kid's around the school who wander out this far from said school.

"Woah." Rogue mutters, before her eyes go back to Logan. "Friend'a yours?" She then calls out to him, not wanting to move on her booted feet less she spook the creature. Obviously she has no idea who it is...

Logan Howlett has posed:
He catches the odd scent of the wolf before he sees it. He turns his head as he rises fully to his feet, his gaze locking onto the beast. His brow furrows as his nostrils flare again. The scent doesn't match a wolf and...he knows it from somewhere. But where?

"Mmmn. Dunno," the man grunts after a moment. "Doesn't smell right, but..." He turns away from Rogue and makes his way to the edge of the porch, peering down at the wolf. He has always gotten on well with animals, and he's wondering if it's the same with this odd one.

So, Logan leans over the porch rail and holds his hand out towards the wolf to let her catch his scent.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The wolf leans forward to the hand but doesn't take an extra step yet though it does begin to bare it's fangs towards the man reaching out to her, acting as a wild wolf that's hungry and somewhat familiar with humans might behave. Though She doesn't retreat or flee, nor does she attack yet. She looks to Rogue with a flit of her yellow eyes but she doesn't react to he girl, not like she would if she could. Mystique has to stay in character.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue, lacking any fear, starts to walk closer though and she just stares at the wolf as Logan reaches down to let him sniff at him. She has a sly grin run across her lips as she saunters slowly, her boots crunching on the forest floor as she does so and the foam Falcon bumping at the side of her leg. "It's cause you been cookin' out here, haven't ya?" She teases Logan. "Makin' steaks or brauts or some such, now ya got the whole forest starin' at your cabin like it's the last Arby's left on a Earth full'a roast beef cravin' zombies."

She stops near the side of the steps up to Logan's porch, a few paces away from the wolf and stares at it. She tips her chin up a bit as she stares down at the creature. "Whats your name, Snarly? I bet if ya lick his hand, he'll go inside and get ya a sausage link." She says to the wolf, as if it'd reply.

Logan Howlett has posed:
He chuckles softly and withdraws his had. "Eh, probably. Still, there's something about that scent. Something...off. Not wolfish. Familiar, even." Logan shakes his head and brushes his fingers back through his dark hair.

He glances from Rogue to the wolf and back again. "I have some steaks I picked up. I could cook up three..." The man trails off, turning back to the patio table to pick up his coffee for a sip.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
    Steak!!!

Mystique then lowers her lips and hides her fangs, though then he lowers down the hair across his neck and back, not wanting to appear as threatened or threatening as such, though he's waiting and not moving more from the spot where Logan initially located the wolf. The shapeshifter is quite hungry and yet, the woman she views as a daughter is here, wanting to stay with and next to her for the first time in a long time... Maybe Mystique can let suffer as a wolf for ... a while longer, despite her former friend's feelings that she isn't really a wolf, but she's here, physical and real.

Rogue has posed:
"Maybe he's been diggin' around in the trash from the school and you're smellin' that?" Rogue suggests to Logan, though she doesn't really have any idea about that. She doesn't even know the gender of the wolf for that matter and just assumes it's a he. Either way, Rogue glances away from the canine and up to Logan to grin at him. "I could eat. I was gonna return this t'the kids who sent it up inta that huge tree in the center'a the lake, but, they'll be fine." She crouches then to lay the Falcon toy down onto the leaves at the base of Logan's front porch and looks up to the wolf. Now more on its eye level, Rogue puts both of her hands on ehr bent knows. "You gonna hang around long enough for the other Growly here t'cook us some food?" She asks the four legged one.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Female wolf," grunts Logan. "You can tell by the shape of the muzzle, mostly. Well, without gettin' all personal, anyways." He shakes his head, then, and taps the side of his nose. "Doesn't lie. By the way, you seen Gabby around? She isn't gettin' in the way, is she? She has issues makin' friends. Gets that from me, probably. But she's...tryin'."

He turns and makes his way into the cabin. A few moments later he walks back out with a plate of very nice looking steaks. He sets them on the patio barbecue's side and lifts the lid, beginning to heat it up.

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The wolf looks up into Rogue's eyes and gives a deep throaty growl as if she was answering the question asked by the teen. Then she backs up as Logan stands but stays looking towards the cabin but yellow wolf eyes linger on Rogue before she takes that step closer back to where she was and keeps still. Her tail and breathing are still, as she's still appearing to be cautious as can be for a wild animal.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue just grins at the wolf. "Ahhh... a Lady Wolf." She states then. "Well 'hello'." The growl gets a continued grin, but the return of Logan with food and the questions he asks makes her rise back up to her full height. She puts one hand on the rail of the porch steps and ascends them quite easily then sits down on the edge of one of the arms of the chairs on the porch.

"Gabby..." She searches her memeory. "Last I seen her was out front'a the school, when someone just showed up in all kindsa tattered clothes t'see Jean." There's a pause of thought there. "Jean's kind've a weird lady." Rogue states then. "I mean, pretty, nice as hell, but dang. She... she's got a lot goin' on in side'a that head'a hers and all around her all the time. I'm glad I'm not her." The side of her cheek dimples out as she tongues the inside of her mouth, then looks off toward the lake.

"I'll keep an eye out for Gabby. I'm happy t'be friends with her. She can come hang out with Jubilee'n I." That alone might make Logan less interested in having Gabby hang out with Rogue.

Logan Howlett has posed:
"Jean is a weird lady," he responds with a chuckle. "She's like a really weird little sister. Weird, but...-my- weird. That make sense?" There might have been romantic possibilities at one point between the two, but that ship sailed years ago. He peers down at the grill, but lets it continue to heat up as he glances back over.

He frowns a bit at the possibility of Gabby hanging with Jubilee and Rogue, but it's a good-natured frown. You'd have to know him to know it wasn't a severe one, though. Thankfully, she does. "Well, do whatcha can. You know what it's like to be new." He plops the three steaks onto the grill with a sizzle. "Medium rare for us...rare for Ms. Wolf over there..."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
As Rogue walks away towards the porch, Mystique takes a single step forward before she starts to salivate, and opens her mouth to allow the panting process to work and to sell the feral nature. She does take a moment to scratch at the ground and sniff the dirt before she looks back up and then lowers her hind quarters and allows the tail to swish in the dirt and leaves. She seems to be waiting patiently, watching, observing the free food that Logan hopefully doesn't cook. No need to wait for the wolf here.

Rogue has posed:
"I most definitely do know." Rogue replies to Logan with a smile. "And that food is startin' t'smell good." She reaches her black gloved hands up to adjust the wool cap on top of her head. Her eyes go down to the wolf again as she watches it fuss with the ground. "I think you got a new cabin guardian." She tells Logan. "You're gonna have t'get a flea collar for it though probably." She grins back up and over to the lumberjack man. "I've been settlin' in pretty good here. Got myself a boyfriend too. He's a sexy older fella too, no less." She grins ear to ear. "You'll have t'meet him sometime, I think you'll like him." He probably won't. "He's a lotta fun. Looks great without a shirt on too." Thats what matters in life!

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan knows better then to cook the wolf's meat. So, two steaks are on, and one is sitting nearby. He flips the two steaks, making sure the exteriors get nice and seared while the interiors stay just the right temperature. They smell incredible. He glances down at the wolf and then chuckles a bit before he looks to Jubilee. "Guess I might." His eyes narrow a bit when she mentions having a boyfriend, though. Not jealousy, though, clearly.

"Eh. First reaction is to get all protective...till I remember you can pick up and hit him with a damn truck if he hurts ya. What's his name?"

Raven Darkholme has posed:
Subtle but still there the wolf too itself does a squint at Rogue's direction when she mentions having a boyfriend but the wolf-mother has to pretend to not understand that and so as she waits, she inches forward slightly and subtly as she lowers her front feet forward and lays down, eyes still lingering on Logan and Rogue as she waits, mouth still open dripping and oozing waiting for free food.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes look to the steaks on the grill, then down to the hungry wolf that seems more domesticated than any wolf should, but around here? That wouldn't surprise her none. Rich people in Westchester have all kinds of weird pets. She sends a grin back to Logan. "I like ya bein' protective'a me, Logan. Lets me know that ya care'n all." She says in that sassy southern way. "And his name is Remy. LeBeau. Met him at a bar in Manhattan. He was playin' cards and cleanin' everyone outta their Friday paychecks." Her hands go down to the tops of her knees as she leans forward just a little, eyes on the wolf.

"He's a mutant too. He's been livin' on his own for a long time so I told'im t'come here and talk to the Professor bout helpin' out around here. I guess their chat went well cause he got invited t'stay too." She looks from Mystiwolf to Logan then. "Ya think sometimes that the Professor is bringin' in all kindsa powerful mutants t'like... I dunno. Build a army here? Feels that way sometimes. The way we train down in that alien room..."

Logan Howlett has posed:
Logan takes both steaks off of the grill, but he needs to let them sit. While they do so, however, he takes the second plate with the raw steak and makes his way off the patio with it. "Humbug," he grunts in reply to Rogue mentioning that he cares. "Mmmn. Name's kinda familiar, but..." He trails off and shrugs his muscled shoulders for now. He'll think on it when he's less distracted and see if he knows the guy or not!

He makes his way right over to the wolf, not seeming afraid. He then sets the plate down in front of the animal and glances back towards Rogue. "Yeah, Chuck is all about takin' in strays. Fuck, look at me." He shrugs a bit then, and makes his way back up onto the patio. "Less army...more well-trained teams to save lifes and combat evil, y'know? I been here awhile. When it comes down to throwing down against some of the bad people out there...you're gonna be happy you got that training."

Raven Darkholme has posed:
The wolf looks up to Logan and gets back up to her fours as he steps close and she takes a step back as the plate comes down but then ... he's gone. Okay, food... Yes. The wolf then steps forwards to the plate, takes a couple of sniffs of the meet and reaches out to take it into her mouth gently and as soon as she does, the mutant is turning around and running away from the porch with the slab of meet in her maw. Also with a name. Remy. Maybe he'll be in her mouth soon enough too.
