The day after the day after
Date of Scene: 05 March 2021
Location: Clinic <Mutant Town>
Synopsis: It is the week of bad decisions
Cast of Characters: Shannon Davis, Madigan Belle

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis wandered into the clinic, just the way she entered already spelled bad news, for various reasons. She had a terrible presence of someone who was not an upstanding citizen. Her left arm was wrapped in red bandages dripping with blood. She stumbled in a half-drunk state from bloodloss and slapped her bloodied hand on the window to the receptionist. "How do...I schedule..." She says slowly, huffing between words, if only she had some handy pliers and an appropriate needle and also knew how to fix herself up. But she didn't so here she was, half-dead.

Madigan Belle has posed:
Not being an M.D. student doesn't really hinder Madigan here since she's from Columbia University and studying to be a Doctor. Mutant town is willing to take on any volunteers. It was just that, Madi was really trying to -get- blood from folks not fix people up. So when the receptionist called out to her, she came out and ohs and uhs, "Well, I can try... I mean..." She looks to Shannon and her eyes get big, "Can you walk, cause I can't help." And she turns, to go back inside to the one room she's been given to do her blood drive. It is pretty clear why she can't help Shannon along, what with the fact that she's got those leg braces and crutch making it only possible for her to move herself along. "Come on come on, I'll try some staples." Medical staples hopefully. She is grinning and waving Shannon to follow.

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis nods vaguely, wobbling along on unsteady legs. "Bullets in there.." She mutters out between the air blowing out of her nose from the exhaustion, pain and effort. "Gotta, do the movie pull out thing." She adds after a while, when they finally get to the room. She sits wherever is available, whether it's a chair or a bed or a stool, or on the floor. "Some people...really don't like mutants." It was not exactly a lie, but the way it was implied did not really match reality. There was a wildly different reason for the three holes in her arm and the one in her shoulder. Though only the one in the shoulder needed the bullet extracted.

Madigan Belle has posed:
In the middle of the room is one of those dentist like chairs with a full range of motion. It can even lay flat. Though designed for things like shots, and blood drawing, it certainly works for stitches. "Huh?" There's a shake of her head, and Madi offers, "Go ahead and sit down. Alright, we'll have to check on where the bullet is, it is funny, really, movies make it seem like you ALWAYS remove a bullet." Grinning she's putting on gloves, and looking around for some medical supplies, along with one of those staplers, a few other bladed items and her eyes get a little big at them, though you might not be paying attention. "Don't like mutants? But genetic diversity is so important, everyone should really like mutants. They are the natural future progression of human life. Really. Even the ones who don't quite look human anymore, those are really the best, it shows some manner of convergence." A pause, "Oh, right, I should be... working on you. Got a name? Does that help? Would you like to think of me as a doctor? I'm not, not yet, working on it. Ph.D, not M.D. was here volunteering for the blood drive... looks like you've already donated." She sure talks fast.

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis waves a hand vaguely. "Don't care, just get it out and help me please." She says with a heavy sigh. "Natural progression, huh? I think anyone who can work really hard to get more powerful is the future, but that works best for mutants I guess." She replies as she undoes the bandages, letting them fall on the ground. "If you don't remove the bullet it'll get infected, right?" She adds finally, her huffing calming down now that she was in a resting position. "Please tell me you have anesthetics." She was already cold sweating. "But you know what? I think mutants are better than all the other super-powerful freaks. Aliens, gods, what have you, all of that is bullshit. Who says they have to be stronger and better and everything good? I'm going to show them even someone like me can be great..." She was half-delirious by the way she was speaking and she kept staring at her own hand, clenching and unclenching.

Madigan Belle has posed:
Quirking her mouth to the side, Madi offers, "Actually, not exactly. Depends on where the bullet is, that's the problem with movies. Yes, its often the case we want to remove the bullet, but that's more because of future potential harm if it moves. Depending on where it is, removing actually poses more of a risk for infection. Plenty of people walking around with bullets inside of themselves." And she finds some alcohol and a few others things laying them out, "Oh, well, hey. Just... close your eyes and it'll be over super quick." She mentions.

Delirium? Maybe, or maybe something else, but as soon as you close your eyes - should you - or look away. Madi is sighing and smiling, "All done. Good job, you were like, out cold there for a moment. Perfect, put on some antibiotics and whatever. But, you are in no position to get up just yet." Waving a finger in your direction, "Mutants are cool, I also like aliens, mayyyyybe gods? I dunno. If they are genetically different than humans, I pretty much favor all of it. Genetics are my speciality, really working on mapping associated genetic traits, to better our genesplicing ventures for the future." A pause and she tilts her head a little, "How are you feeling?" You are all stitched up, there's even a bullet sitting on a tray, and clearly there wasn't that much blood loss. The stitches are even done in a straight line with some extra threading sewn into areas that weren't open with a little heart.

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis let her head hang a few times, looking around until she got her bearings and was able to focus enough to feel the throbbing pain and look at the geneticist. She blinks slowly, her brain not functioning at 100. "Uhhh thanks. I don't need a clone though." She says with a clumsy hand wave. "I don't have any money though, do you have to pay here? I might have to beat up your security, so I apologize in advance." She shouldn't even care about that, but something kept pulling her back towards acting decently, at least at times. She tries to get up, but wobbles and sits back down. "I think I need a minute. I'm Shannon, the real one not the imbecile that tried to set me up and attacked the city some time ago. Did you see how strong that bitch was? RHNFGH ABSOLUTE BULLL SHIT!" She has a fit of rage all of a sudden thinking back on it, how much, how incredibly much stronger her other self was. She slams her good arm on the side of the chair as hard as she can.

Madigan Belle has posed:
"Whoaaaaaa there, lady." Madi puts up her hands to make sure you are trying to sit back down, "I don't think you have to pay here. I won't tell if you don't." She offers with a bit of a grin, showing teeth and curious eyes, "Oh. Cloning, no, that's a common misconception. Geneticists aren't really about cloning. I mean, sure, it's a true experimentation of the culmination of our work, but really, I'm more on the individual gene or family of genes basis. For instance, mutants, they have a certain gene turned on, but then there are other genes also turned on. These are what allow for the powers, awesome looks, like people who are half animal, or have claws, or whatevs. You know? Its possible to ... turn those on, really, even epigenetically, which is to say post conception." A pause and she shakes her head, "You really shouldn't move for a bit. You'll want to let your blood refill, as it were, you know, cause you lost some. And I have no clue what you are talking about, I don't really pay attention to the news." She grabs her backpack and pulls out a chocolate bar, one of those fancy ones that cost like 7 dollars in a grocery store, and she's opening it to bite off a piece, "I'm Madi. Nice to meet you Shannon. I'll get you antibiotics when you are on your way out, though, I really shouldn't be doing this cause like. Not licensed, right? So, shhhhhhhhh, don't tell anyone and I won't tell anyone." Another bite, as she watches you with a smile.

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis blinks a few more times, now the words were sinking in. She turns to Madigan and suddenly her eyes are burning with an unrelenting intensity of nearly murderous proportion, but there was no aggression towards her. A hand reaches out to plant itself on one of the woman's shoulders. "Did you just say turn on? You can do that? Can you? Do not say these words lightly. I want to be stronger. My mutation, I want it to be strong. I want to stand, towering over all others." She pulls the girl in a little bit to stare very closely into her eyes. "I hate them, Madigan. I hate them all. Aliens: Hate them. Gods: Hate them. Animal people: Hate them. Witches, demons and wizards: Hate them. Super strength, super speed, blowing things up, creating things out of thin air, breaking people's minds, lifting battleships with a simple thought. I hate them all. I HATE THEM FOR BEING WHAT I CAN'T BE." She sort of info-dumps into the woman, but this was a very destabilized girl who was already not normal, with bloodloss and having the touchiest subject possible touched. "DO NOT talk about something if you cannot accomplish it. *Can you do it?* If you can then you can run your tests on me."

Madigan Belle has posed:
The hand comes up to her shoulder, and kind of plants itself there, Madi looks over at it, then back to Shannon, "Uh, yeah. I mean, maybe not permanently, and not always as intended, but you just find the right mixture of things and you can turn on and off almost any gene. SRY, turn that off, and bam, a man becomes a woman. Biologically. And it doesn't happen that fast, but yeah, if you could permanently make it happen, even those sorts of things are possible."

There's a lot of angst coming her way but Madigan stays grinning, like it is washing off of her or she's not concerned, but either way she's happy to grin. "Oh, yeah, I can definitely do it. Already have, in smaller ways. So, then, you are interested in being a guinea pig, is that what I'm hearing? There will be some forms, you know, like NDAs, permission to do things, resuscitation documents..." She is looking off and around the clinic walls, "And it wouldn't be here. I don't have any ... lab equipment ... here." Quirking her mouth, she then raises one of her copper colored eyebrows in question, "Would all that, be fine? I mean, for science, and all that, I'm getting a Ph.D and this is sort of part of that. So you'd be doing me a favor, but its gotta stay quiet."

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis pushes off the chair, she nearly falls over, but now she had burning determination. She stands up straight and stares at Madigan with her facial muscles tensed so hard it was like looking at a robot. "Yes. You can do whatever as long as I get stronger and stronger and stronger. I don't care if it takes a while, it'll be faster than what I'm trying. I don't care about any of that legal crap either." She says dismissively, to her, all that mattered was reach that insurmountable mountain shaped like a red cape. In her delirium she could almost see it and reaches out to grip it. "I'm going to reach it. I'm going to do everything I've ever wanted. I will have all the fun in the world and stare from the top just like so many do today." Those were her dreams, after all, at least it was a brighter turn from where she was before. "You study me, turn over every cell every piece of genetic code, find everything you can." She says, turning back towards the woman. "I can go now. Or we can wait. I am ready whenever since I have nowhere to go."

Madigan Belle has posed:
"Calm down, calm down. Okay? Give me your phone #, and I'll give you mine. And we can meet when you are one hundred percent." And Madi shakes her head, "You'll need to be, I mean, some of these things can be terribly horrible... but, all in the name of science. Right?" She beams, and just kind of listens to your rant about being powerful. Madi nods her head with big eyes, "Interesting. Well, Shannon, I think you are all done here. Shouldn't give away all your plans in a public place like this." A bit of a chuckle, as she seems non-plussed by the idea of someone being angry, wanting to take over the world. "Our interaction, though, no matter what, needs to be kept safe. You say to your best friend, in passing, my name and what I'm working with you on. And, I will stop working with you. All your hopes, your dreams..." She points one of her fingers down and spirals it, like a toilet being flushed, "Flushed down the drain. Got it? Otherwise, I'm in. One hundred and seventy two percent." Oddly specific.

Shannon Davis has posed:
Shannon Davis scoffs. "My "friend" hah. Right. I don't have friends anymore, I can't have them more specifically. There's no point to telling anyone about this. You're exactly what I've been looking for, so I'll do anything to protect this, I'll goddamn kill and skin anyone who tries to fuck this up." She replies with a frown, it was about time to get moviong before the police showed up again anyways. "Thanks for the patch up, we will talk again soon." She trades numbers with Madigan and nods before waddling out of the small room and into the street.
