Cast of Characters: Leslie Willis, Koga Miura

Leslie Willis has posed:
Leslie's all set for her interview with an up and coming racer, figuring maybe if she focuses on more underground topics that -aren't- how the lizard people are taking over, she can get more media cred. Then people will answer her questions about the lizard people. Given the three empty cups, and the remaining one topped with whipped cream and sprinkles, she's probably got enough sugar and caffeine already coursing through her system to power a small city. She's dressed down in a way, insofar as she's not rocking her costume, going for a more metal-punk vibe, leather jacket with short, gleaming spikes on the shoulders, a faded t-shirt underneath, to the point whatever band logo is across her chest is lost to history and her laundry habits. She's wearing a pair of faded jeans, random tears covered in patches or held closed with safety pins, all leading down to a pair of thick-soled boots to add a few inches of height. She's drumming a mechanical pencil on a spiral-bound notepad, humming and fidgeting as she looks around the coffeeshop, mumbling softly, "Raaaacing... racing... gotta think up some questions about racing... stick far away from the technical stuff.... I mean, who even knows how a clutch -actually- works?"

She frowns, brow furrowing as she huffs softly, "I shoulda put out a post for questions... oh!" She perks up, struck by inspiration, scribbling on the notepad and sighing out, mumbling quietly, "Jeeze, you wreck up -one- little museum with lightning and suddenly the parole board's all 'No you can't have a cell phone unsupervised'... guhhh!"

Koga Miura has posed:
At least it doesn't take long before Koga shows up. That's the good news! He does look around a bit upon entering the coffee shop as there definitely wasn't a picture of Leslie's current outfit to point him in her direction. The young man looks around, then pulls out a cellphone to check his messages. And tilts his head a bit. It's obviously him, the racer if his picture is anything to go by. The thing is, he definitely doesn't know who she is from the looks.

And probably thinks he's early or something. Crazy Japanese timing. And he grumbles to himself, "Could've sent me a picture or something so I know who I'm meeting. Agents are such a pain." He looks slightly annoyed by that.

Leslie Willis has posed:
Leslie perks up, -she- clearly recognizes her guest from the his photo. She waves one arm, bringing her other hand to her lips, using her fingers to let out the sort of sharp whistle that probably makes some poor college kid writing the great american novel lose his train of thought. "Heyyy! Over here! You're... early I think?" Her brow furrows as she looks around for a clock. This no cell thing really -does- suck.

She springs to her feet and practically vibrates with energy, "I'm Leslie! You're Koga, right? I'll try to keep this fun! I mean, maybe not like... totally cool racing fun, but as fun as interviews can get!" She tilts her head thoughtfully, brow furrowing. "Well, maybe not that fun. I'm a little rusty."

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga puts away his phone, raising an eyebrow at the whistle before heading over, "Yes, I am Koga Miura. I am a bit early. My apologies. I did not expect traffic to be so light." He gives a pleasant smile, shaking his head.

"Oh, do not worry about it. I am myself a little rusty. I took a break from my career to complete a degree, after all. I believe you are the first interview I have had since coming back to the racing circuit, to be honest. And the first in America. I just hope to at least be able to be professional. Mostly." He shrugs, "Interviews are never very fun if you have to stay professional all the time."

Leslie Willis has posed:
Leslie's head bobs, lips splitting in a wide, winning smile as she chirps out, "Oh yeah! Totally. Yep, definitely like me. I had to take a break from the whole social media game for awhile... I was uhhh... at vocational school!" Sure... that's totally true, she learned a lot during all those court-mandated community service hours!

She slides in next to him and laughs out, "Well, I have to admit, I don't know much about motorsports! I mean, like, organized races and all. I kinda figured it'd be more underground, like those street racing movies nowadays. All flashy cars and stuff."

Koga Miura has posed:
Koga hums, looking at her carefully, then seems to shrug, "School can be important as well. But if you have something you want to pursue, you should do so."

A small laugh comes from him at the mention of the movies. "The movies do not always portray it in a good light. While there is such that I'm aware of, those are more dangerous. A lot more. I do not like those because it portrays those sort of races as not as dangerous. My preference is on the track. We have cars and motorcycles that are as fast if not faster, and are safer for those that wish to watch. As far as motorsports, I would say a lot of it depends upon a few things as far as knowing about it."

He looks thoughtful, "As far as a street race, the main danger is that people are not behind some sort of fence or barricade. So if there is an accident, a faulty tire, loss of control, or anything else then the people around could be hurt or killed in some cases. I may be for the excitement of the race and doing stunt riding, but I would rather those watching or supporting me be safe in case myself or those that maintain my vehicle missed something."
