Date of Scene: 08 March 2021

Synopsis: Bobbi talks to Lance about some of her time in Afterlife. She mourns Gonzales's death.
Cast of Characters: Bobbi Morse, Lance Hunter

Bobbi Morse has posed:
The door to Bobbi's miniature apartment underneath the Triskelion slides open when she swipes her lanyard. Dressed in a combination of SHIELD and Afterlife attire still, she looks utterly beat. She walks in and lets her backpack slump off of her shoulder and on to the middle of the floor without regard for neat and tidiness. There isn't an emergency in the world she could be ready to face at this moment in time.

Pulling off her cloak, she drops that next and then her SHIELD issue body armour that makes all the female agents look like Black Widow (because Black Widow just wears her SHIELD issued body armour). She makes it to the bathroom and rests her hands on the sink edge and stares at herself in the mirror.

Bobbi is in mourning and it's not going to be an easy path forward. Then there's the fact that she is now Inhuman-ish. Or that she genuinely made connections with people in Afterlife that have been stripped away from her suddenly by their oldest and worst enemy -- HYDRA.

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter had been at the gym most of the day trying to burn through his worry by punching the heavy bag or doing laps in the pool those activities by frequent calls to someone working ops today that owed him a favour looking for updates on the mission. Those updates were few and far between until he got word the quinjets were back, minus one, and he headed right down to Bobbi's room in the Trisk arriving shortly after her knocking on the door.

"Bobs you in?" he calls. He hoped she would be and not be in medical or worse.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
The door is still partly open and it swings wider when Lance knocks on it. "In here," Bobbi says as she wipes away fresh tears on her still dirty cheeks. She turns on the tap and cups water in her hands, cleaning her face. Her hands are still shaking though and she's stripped down to her armoured leggings and tank top.

The sniffle of her trying to pull her emotions back inside is audible and she turns to see Lance, walks over, and wraps her arms about him. "He's dead... Robert's dead," she says and new tears fall from her cheeks. The man that always called her Barbara much to her chagrin, had been a close mentor that she trusted completely. Taken.

"I feel like no matter what we do, everything just keeps getting worse. I killed Whitehall and HYDRA still turns up and attacks Inhumans, abducts them, kills Robert.. why won't they just fade in to the history books?? it's.. I get how Peggy feels now, it's not fair that we beat them and they keep coming back."

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter steps through the door and lets it close behind him. He's known Bobbi long enough to get a sense when things aren't right and that sniffle is enough to confirm it. He stands mutely in his tank top and sweats as he listens to what she has to say before he comes forward to offer her a hug. "I'm sorry Bobs, I really am I know how much he meant to you."

"And yeah, long past time HYDRA got put in the dustbin of history if you ask me."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi simply holds on to him for a while. When she lets go, she walks over to the mini-fridge and gets out two beers. One for her, one for Lance. "There's more," she says and wipes down her cheeks and eyes again. She flops to the couch and takes a long swig of the alcohol.

"You know how Jiaying kept claiming I was Inhuman? had me touch her magic metal thing?," she says and takes another long swig. "Turns out, she was right," she admits to him and shrugs her shoulders. "I'm Inhuman. Or, close to it. I have super powers."

She's trying to get a rise out of him, trying to inject a little humour in to the tense moment. They had both joked about wanting superpowers in the past. Certainly what Bobbi has ended up with she'd never have even dreamt of wishing for, nor does she truly understand it yet.

So she lies, it's obviously just ribbing, "The whole kit. Laser eyes, freezing breath, flying in space, you name it I've got it now." She rearranges the pillows on the couch so Lance can join her.

Lance Hunter has posed:
Lance takes the beer with a nod of thanks, "Yeah, I remember," he says about Jaiying's claims and the shiny metal thing. He sinks down next to her on the couch an amused smirk on his lips and brows raising when she lists her powers, "Please tell me you're joking," he says. "You're insufferable enough with your wing suit and Captain America strength," he says with a teasing glint in his eye. "So, any of that for real or are you just pulling my leg?"

There's no revulsion though or pulling away at the thought of her being more than human, just the amusement at the idea of her having even more powers and behind that a deeper, more concerned interest to hear what had happened on her trip away.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi smirks a moment and holds up her beer to 'clink' with his. "Nope. I get nausea when I touch people sometimes and then I see weird symbols in my head and I can't stop thinking about them.. they're like a puzzle. No, really, I'm learning I get it from everyone - just some people stronger than others. When I touched you just now? I felt it, barely a blip compared to when I touched the Inhumans at Afterlife. So... I get maze of the week in my brain, that's my special power. I no longer need to buy a newspaper."

She sighs and says, "So good luck, if you ever get superpowers I'm betting it won't be your desired x-ray vision." She frowns a touch and talks a bit slower, "Though something extra strange did happen. I sort of solve one of the puzzles for this young woman named Nona I met. She would freeze things. After I mentally understood it, well, understood more than solve.. I could touch her and I didn't freeze. It was like I was immune to her power."

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter clinks his beer to hers, "You get puzzles in your head? What sort of power is that?" he asks but as she explains he listens as the pieces come together. "So, what'd you see when you touched me?" he asks curious before he gets a bit more serious. "So, these puzzles, understanding them can make you immune to powers?" he asks her. "Pretty good power actually, even if I still do want X-Ray vision."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi hooks a foot in to an arm strap of her pack and pulls it closer. She opens it up and takes out her tablet. There's a moment where she pauses, staring at a bunch of gibberish on the screen titled 'Nona'. Her face isn't one of sadness entirely - though that's there. It's one of confusion.

She taps the tab bar and makes a new one and titles it Lance, then begins to draw weird squiggles and shapes in odd patterns. After a bit she stops and says, "This is sort of roughly what I saw when I touched you. It seems to only happen the first time I touch someone.. like I'm taking an imprint or sample from them."

"And yeah, puzzles in my head. Dumbest power ever right?," she says with a smirk. "I figured out Nona's thanks to a workbook Jacob had left behind. These other ones.. not a clue. So if I can be immune to someones super powers, it seems like its'll be something I have to work on. I got the impression that Jacob could change things... we captured Gayle Trushot, the HYDRA agent like Epicenter. I'm going to touch her and see if I can't figure out how to take away her powers. Biiit of a stretch, but why not aim high right?"

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter takes a swig of his beer before he leans in to look at the squiggles she got off of him. "Well I definitely have no idea what it means, but glad you had better luck with this Nona girl," he says. "And that it only happens the first time, can't imagine how distracting it'd get if you saw that every time we touched," he says before considering what else she has to say. "Trushot, that's the one who fought Daisy right? Definitely a good one to test that out on then, she didn't seem like she was playing with a full deck," he says nose wrinkling. "Though maybe take a bit of a rest before you give it a try, yeah? Seems like your time away was hardly a pleasure trip and if the crazy HYDRA test subject is locked up she's not going to be going anywhere."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi nods her head, "Yeah.. I need a break. And we need to catch Babs and Lancelot," she says with a glower. "I have been thinking.. what if we set a trap for them." She stares at the wall for a moment and presses her lips together. "They think they wounded me badly with the harpoon right? ... I'm guessing they have no idea how strong I am, or that I can fly with my wings." She points toes toward the pile on the floor.

"In other words, they'd never see Mockingbird coming.. if you'd be willing to be the bait that is..."

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter nods before breaking into a smile, "You know," he says. "Most people wouldn't count catching our evil dopplegangers as a break," he says but its definitely not a complaint by the way he leans forward with interest when she lays out her plan. "Yeah, last time we saw them it was just me, probably think it's because you're still layed up with the wound in your leg," he takes a long swig of his beer before nodding. "Might as well," he says about being the bait. "At least I get a front row seat when we spring that trap on them. ARMOR figure a way to send them back or we going to be crossing them off?" he asks after a moment.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
She laughs, "I'd love to cross them off.. but there's been enough killing. ARMOR can send them back. They have a portal they've been using to ship the cure to the Amazons to distribute around their planet. Weird stuff to discuss so casually right? anyway that's all off my hands and under the purview of ARMOR.. so.. unless they come a knocking, our duty is to hand them over."

She finisher her beer and then leans in to him a bit. "It's been a rough few days. A lot of people died. I haven't even had a chance to talk to Daisy about it all.. her mum. Gosh, she's a piece of work. I tell you, I've never met someone so self righteous before. I hope Daisy doesn't grow up to be like her," she says with a cheeky smirk.

Lance Hunter has posed:
Letting go of a relieved breath, he nods, "Bloody weird to discuss so casually," he agrees. "But glad to hear we don't have to cross them off, even if they do deserve it. Shooting someone that looks like you wouldn't sit right," he says with a degree of seriousness before he lightens the mood. "But ICERing our doubles and shoving them through a portal sounds like just the thing to shake off a crazy couple of weeks."

A smile plays on his lips about Daisy's mom. "Real piece of work huh? Not that I'd say it to her but maybe it's for the best she didn't get raised by her folks, I remember her dad before they wiped his memory, not sure him and miss self-righteous would be the best sort to raise a kid, y'know?"

Bobbi Morse has posed:
She shudders and shakes her head, "Yeah no. I'm not sure I want that haunted image in my head... killing myself. Or killing you. I can't even imagine..." she looks at him and frowns. "Impossible, couldn't do it even if I tried. So.. ICERs."

She smirks and says, "Gosh. Cal and Jia together. May be they cancelled each other out? I can't imagine what their relationship must have been like. As if we're not bad enough.. them."

"Welp, I guess we're officially assholes," she says with a chuckle and then bites her bottom lip as Gonzales pops back in to her mind. "I'm not sure what SHIELD will have me doing now that Gonzales is gone. Will they even continue SPOT?"

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter nods grimly and takes a deep swallow of beer that almost drains the bottle. "You and me both," he says. "So definitely ICERs, hear they're working on a grenade for that sort of thing too, might be fun to give it a try if Fitz has one handy," he suggests. "I play bait, you fly in and drop it on them and we call it a day." As if any plan of theirs would go off that easily, but it was nice to dream.

"Right?" he says of the idea of Cal and Jia. "And I am not a psychotic rage monster thank you very much, and you're not /that/ self-righteous," he says. "Most of the time,"

"Dunno," Hunter says honestly about Bobbi's prospects. "Not like they're going to stick you behind a desk or anything, even this place isn't that messed up, as for SPOT, what little I know about it, it seemed to be serving a purpose I am sure they'll keep it going, just hope they don't put a total asshole in charge of it, you know, for your sake."

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi pats his thigh and says, "Fear not Lance, there's no way they'd put you in charge of SPOT." She smirks and then half crawls over the couch arm to open the mini-fridge and get two more beers. This is Bobbi at her laziest for sure. This is how Lance knows it was a very bad mission.

"I need more alcohol in me before I write my after action report. Otherwise I don't think I'm going to get through it," she admits and then circles the conversation, "Yes.. well, we were both there when Jemma invented the prototype. Fitz has a working field worthy version then? useful. If not.. well, 'Babs' is hardly going to be able to handle the Mockingbird. Thanks to Rogers I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable throwing punches again."

Lance Hunter has posed:
Hunter watches Bobbi get their beers in a way that confirms what he suspected of the mission. He takes his with a nod and cracks it open, "Cheers," he says lifting it to her. "So, guess we need to make sure we don't drink so many of these you can't write that report then," he says. "Which means, I guess I have to dangle the Winter Marble Olympics in front of you like a carrot then, get the report done and we can drink ourselves silly while we watch," he says. "Haven't peeked but one of the Koenigs mentioned they have marbles in little bobsleds this time," he says with a sage like nod.

Bobbi Morse has posed:
Bobbi taps her new beer to Lance's and opens it up to drink. She smirks and nods her head, "Yeah. I'm going to go to ops to write the report. I can shut my door and concentrate for a bit.. so I guess we're watching here tonight. My tv is better than yours anyway."

She smiles and then her eyes widen, "A bobsled of marbles??!" She takes a drink of her beer and then motions to the remote controls, "You set it up, I'll be back as soon as I can." She slips off the couch and stands up. Her casual SHIELD jacket is donned and done up. She gives a wave to Lance and heads out, beer in hand, to go upstairs to ops to do her necessary paperwork.

Lance Hunter has posed:
"Debatable but I don't feel like driving to my place right now, so for the sake of argument we'll say yours is better," Hunter grins taking a swing from his beer.

"Not sure if it's a real sized bobsled full of them or if they're all in small ones but guess we'll have to find out when you get back," he says reaching for the remote.

As she goes he looks up and says, "Bobs," before she's gone. "Glad you didn't die out there."
