Happy Harbor: Moving In Day
Date of Scene: 11 March 2021
Location: Academic Hall - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: Hank moves into his classroom at Happy Harbor with help from Mike. Old enemies of the school are talked on.
Cast of Characters: Hank Pym, Michael Hannigan, Morrigan MacIntyre

Hank Pym has posed:
It is a sunny day in March. A perfect day for starting a new enterprise, perhaps a new phase of one's life. Some have said 'Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach." This is total BS as any teacher can tell you and will should you be dumb enough to imply it. But Hank tries hard not to be negative today. Bearing some delicate glassware and equipment, he is clad in a tweedy jacket worn over a t-shirt that says, "I try to be a nicer person, but everybody is just so stupid." He has a long held pipe in his mouth because dang it makes him feel academic.

"How are we doing guys?"

Behind him Baudelaire the ant walks silently carrying a huge packing crate on his head and wearing a yellow service animal vest. //This is BS. I want peanut butter!// Pym glares at the myrmidon. //I'll wait.//

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Hair tucked away in a knitcap and dressed down in jeans, shirt and worn out jacket. Mike is not channeling any professor vibes. Which is good because he is not one. But right now he's helping out by carrying that ONE box that Bo wouldn't be able to carry. Mike is currently enjoying one of his rare days off by helping Hank move belongings.

"Just how much of this stuff do you have, Hank?" Mike inquires, looking to the crate Bo has. Wondering how much of this have additional instructions of 'just add particles'. "This has got to be expensive. Didn't you just restock a new lab?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's not been alerted to stuff being moved in today. Until she was getting ready to sit down at her desk and take her heels off. Michael had opened her office door when she had her syringes out and looked like he'd seen a ghost...or a very large ant. Both might be terrifying. Injections were hurried and the woman had straightened her clothes to look less frazzled.

It's probably the heels that herald her arrival. She's dressed in a royal purple pencil skirt, crisp white dress shirt and black leather heels. "Doctor Pym, Mister Hannigan good afternoon." the Irish woman smiles to them. "Do you need assistance with anything?" she asks them.

Then she spots Beau and there's a bright smile given, "Oh my goodness." she stays put, because that's a really big ant.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym looks at Baudelaire and says, "He is service animal trained and quite harmless. He can also lift a large car. This is Baudelaire or Bo. Bo, set down the crate and greet. Gently."

The ant carefully sets the crate down, walks closer to Morrigan and kneels almost like a horse. "Besides... New York City law only prevent bringing vertebrates into a school zone. Invertebrates are allowed for scientific purposes. He's my lab ant. I hope there won't be a problem. He'll stay out of the way."

The ant meanwhile reaches an antenna cautiously out to almost touch Morrigan's hand. Waiting.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Hearing the clack of heels upon the floor in the oddly quiet school environment, Mike turns his head. Seeing the brightly haired woman, the sides of Mike's lips lift upwards. "Afternoon, Morrigan." He glances down to his box "Do you know which room Hank would be set up in?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a smile to Bo and there's a moment taken to smooth her skirt as she kneels down on the ground, out of the way of movers, "It's nice to meet you, Bo." she states to the ant. Weirdo that she is. She reaches her hand out slowly towards his antenna, but she doesn't go as far as touching. Animals should have that choice.

She then looks to Hank and there's a smile, "No, he's no trouble at all. We've got a lot of service animals in the building so it's fine. That and we are pretty animal friendly." she admits as she looks back to Bo for a sec.

Then she gives a smile to Mike, "Hey there. Doctor Pym is going to be in the classroom next to the science lab. Hopefully everything will fit in there, if more space is needed we can make that happen." she tells them.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym gives Bo a small wave and the ant feels Morrigan's hand a bit before returning to his crate. He shakes out his wns before lifting the equipment.

Hank offers Morrigan a hand to regain her footing because, heels! With his other hand he takes his pipe out of his mouth and says, "You will find Dr. MacIntyre, I can make extra space happen pretty well myself. And watch out for Bo... he likes to jump when he senses a friendly human. I'm here now but if you run into him alone tell him "No!" he caused all manner of shenanigans for some contractors I had a while back. That poor woman in the cargo pants... Anyway lead on Doctor. Iofferend Mike some fine Staten Island pizza once we're done here... though Brooklyn has the really good stuff."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Bo's awesome though." Mike offers up to offset the warning about the jumping, "Bit a of a music lover too. Has a thing for the drums. Something to note if you got a music room."

The musician turns his head, glancing around. "Okay, classroom next to the science lab..." He turns his head, looking around the plaza. "Science lab..." He pauses, frowning, "Where's the science lab?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a delighted laugh when Bo investigates her hand, but does not try to squeeze the ant, no matter how adorable he is. She didn't need to be tossed down the hall for overstepping boundaries. She takes Hank's hand when it's offered and gives a smile to him, "Thank you Doctor." she dips her head to that as her other hand smoothes her skirt back down.

"I will tell him no if I catch him wandering without you, I promise." she nods to him. Her gaze then turns to Mike and she gives a grin, "He seems pretty great." she admits to that. "I will make sure that we secure the drums...or donate one for his amusement." she thinks on this. "Science room! Yes, right this way." she gets back on track as she turns to lead them to the room next to the science lab. She opens the door to a freshly cleaned and fairly large classroom, "Here we are." she smiles as she steps in. "We can have your name and things added to the door if you'd prefer that over a class number, some like a more personal touch." the woman states.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym nods looking at the room. "This is quite satisfactory. I was afraid it'd be painted that apple green. This is lovely. Bo! Stop!" Hank snaps art the ant. Bo looks up from the human skeleton he was investigating. He sets the crate down and begins unpacking it. Hank measures the spaces in the room, self space, lockers. "I have a good eye for measuring and volumes. It saved my life a few times. It also resulted in arguments with females with no concept of halving closet space. Apparently their shoes do not count." He sticks the pipe in his pocket and looks a little sheepish. "I admit I have a little anxiety about this. But I'm also excited. This will be my own thing. No Avengers, no Pym-Tech. It's... been a while since I started something new for myself. Thank you for allowing me this, Dr. MacIntyre." He stiffly holds a hand out to Morrigan.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Upon them entering the room, Mike moves over to a study desk to set his assigned box down upon it. Hands free, he proceeds to open it. Glancing inside he tilts his head at a plushie ant staring back at him. Well. At least he knows why he was entrusted THIS box. He reaches in, pulling out the plushie. Giving it a smile before carrying it over to the front desk.

He takes a moment to glance around the room. "This is a newer school, isn't it?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan tries not to laugh at the skeleton investigating ant. He'd be fine. "My maine coon tends to cause a lot of mischief at home. I wouldn't want to bring Occam in unless I needed to bring him." she chuckles softly. Then she's looking to Hank again and she chuckles, "Ah yes, closet space. Sometimes a lot of it is needed. For shoes or for bodies who knows." she shrugs to that. When he offers his hand she reaches out to give him a friendly handshake, "It's my pleasure, Doctor Pym. Starting new ventures helps us not grow idle." she tells him.

Then she looks to Mike and there is a smile, "Aye, it is. We've not been open more than a year. Experimental time is over and time to move into settling into more concrete routines." she admits.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym nods. "I'm a fan of routines. They're very calming. I know I tend to spend too much time in a lab. Now I spend time doing other things. It's healthier. I... how did that get there... " He goes over to pick up the ant plushie, looking at it fondly, then comes to a decision and sets it on his desk and smiles at it. "Maria, my wife, gave me that after her father told me to 'go to the ants...' to learn productivity. Her father was a hoot. I'll keep him here. A good luck charm perhaps."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike gives a small nod as Morrigan confirms his assessment of the newness of the building. "So what was the experiment? A magnet school?"

He watches Hank take the plushie from him as well as the reaction the doctor flashes it. "...It's good to keep some things like that around." He agrees, moving back to the box, pulling some things that are bit more unassuming. Hardback books. Ah. So that's where the weight was. "Things that trigger good memories."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan settles into a comfortable stance, hands folded loosely in front of her as she does. She was fine with watching and listening for now. The plushie ant is given a look and a soft smile. She still had the stuffed falcon same gave her. That thought catches her off guard though and she shakes her head before painting on a smile again. "It's probably a good place for it." she nods to that.

"Hopefully there won't be a lot of stress in this environment. We're working towards things going more smoothly and hopefully no one is going to try to haze the newest teacher. If they do I'll give them a stern talking to." she tells them.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym stands a little straighter. He takes his eyeglasses off to look Morrigan in the eyes intensely. "Dr. MacIntyre... I will admit I've been through the fire but... it only tempered me. I'm sure you researched me. Bipolar disorder. My schizophrenic break... that is not happening again. Nothing every broke me except Hank Pym and I will not let that happen again. In my last mishap... I was held by my doppelganger, a very dangerous cyborg and interrogated for two weeks and I told him nothing. He was very thorough but I held up. I'm not perfect Doctor but, I will not make you sorry. And if any students try to haze me... I will deal with it in my own fashion. I've dealt with sorcerors, omega Mutants, gods and robots."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike pulls out the books, glancing to them. "Do you want these on the desk or on a shelf, Hank?" He glances around. Hmm. Maybe he should have checked for the presence of a shelf first before asking that.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's not wearing her sunglasses at the moment so those vivid eyes of hers stare back at Hanks. It might get a little weird here. "I did a little research, yes. We kind of have to." she smiles at that. "I mean, if SHIELD thought you were a bad fit they would have went 'umm, no' Doctor MacIntyre." she admits. "And I'm sure you'll realize the kids are pretty well behaved. We've been through a lot in our first year." she explains. "Ah, sorcerors. They can be a pain in the ass." she grins at that.

"And I will leave things to you then, Doctor Pym." she dips her head to that. Then she's looking back to Mike, "There's shelves on that wall and the closet in the back has shelves as well. If more are needed I can see if Mister Rothstein can whip up some or maintenance." she smiles. "Whichever he wants." she nods to Hank.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym pits his eyes against violet eyes. Well not really. His look is more interrogative than confrontational. He's watching for her reaction. Then he simply says, "Exactly. Well spoken. And you will find I'm very handy in the event of alternate reality crises and giant insect invasions. I'm kidding. You don't have those here. those are more if an upstate thing."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike gives a slight smile to Morrigan's assessment of sorcerors. Indeed some can be. In particular the ones trying to bring about entities to take over the world. But others do turn out to make for good friends. If you can get by the quirks.

As Morrigan indicates where the shelves are, the musician turns his head to look, hands grasping the covers. "Alright. Thanks." He glances over to Hank to see if he has a stated preference but upon one not being provided, opts for the bookshelf that's not hidden in a closet. Hank can always move it elsewhere if need be.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's eyes don't start glowing so all is well! There is a softer smile that graces her almost porcelain features, "That will be good to have around should we experience that." she admits. "I think the worst we've had so far was a group of zealots that tried to kidnap one of our new students at movie night last year...they realized that they tried to the wrong school." she chuckles. "Thank you for helping with things, Mister Hannigan. It's appreciated." she tells the man.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym looks over at Mike. "Yes, thank y... where are you putting those? Nonono. I'll do that. Go get pizza, take a break. Baudelaire get away from that skeleton or I will take out the magnifying glass!"

Michael Hannigan has posed:
As Mike reaches the bookshelf he starts setting the books on the shelf in the reverse order he pulled them out of the box before Hank raises his voice in protest. He turns, setting the books on a nearby table instead. Because it's not the shelf.

Mike turns his head at the mention of an attempted kidnapping. "...When, last year?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan watches Hank head off to shoo Mike away from books and threaten the ant. Morrigan gives Bo a look and there's a shake of her head, "I don't think he would." she whispers quietly to the mastiff sized insect. Then she looks to Mike and there's a moment she lets a breath out, "It was early June of last year. Some group called the Order of St. Dumas. We managed to get all of the subdued until the police got here, some got away though and I'm guessing that they aren't the only ones." she frowns at that.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym considers this while putting the books out the right way, grabbing the books away from Mike. "Nonono. Give. Thank you. Honestly thermodynamics next to biochem? That's like Kotomi next to Chaos Chaos!!" Part of him is pondering just how formidable a faculty he joined.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike frowns. Not because of the 40 year old man taking books from him before they even had a chance to set down on the table. Heck. If it wasn't for what Morrigan said he'd probably be mildly impressed that he could still cross the room that quickly. "Saint Dumas?" He repeats, tone a bit curious, "...Is that an actual saint name or was someone just REALLY into The Three Musketeers?" Hmm. He might have to look that up, "And they just showed up all 'Ha ha we are the Order of St. Dumas?'"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look between Hank and Mike and then she leans against the doorway, "There is not a Saint Dumas, no. At least not that has been discovered and published. I am unsure of where the group has its origins from." she shakes her head. "From what I have gathered it is a group that picks specific people and takes them to condition and train them. We didn't hear from them again, but I tend to take the protection of the kids as a priority and we've tried to make sure security is aware of if things should go south or they try it again." she admits.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym stops what he's doing and looks at Morrigan. "I've helped some misused children in the past. Not nearly enough. I won't let any children be harmed. I was an Avenger."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike frowns. Targeting and taking children. Condition and train? "...I'm not a fan of people who target kids either." He states grimly with a shake of the head, "I'm not part of any teams that deal with such things but, I have from time to time come across weirder things. So,if for some reason I come across anything that pertains to this I'll let you guys know."
