Matthew Murdock has posed:
2018....

Another day for training. So far they'd covered combat, and control, but now it was time to see what Skye's senses could do. After all if she was going to master her powers she would need to be able to sense the vibrations she was able to manipulate, judge how they might interact with other things.

So, after another round of sparring, that left them tangled up on the floor (funny how that always seemed to happen with them), Matt laughs and stands, pulling off his gloves and offering a hand up to Skye. "So, up for something a little different?" he asks her.

Which given how their time together had gone could have all sorts of meanings.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's as if gravity works differently for them, making the two of them just topple over on each other. But we are talking of a blind lawyer and a previously nerdy hacktivist right? Right? So one certainly can give them a discount on being so 'klutzy'.

But Skye is laughing along with Matt when he stands and offers one hand down to her, she holding on to it and getting up. Again that mischievous look but at least her tone is serious enough, curious on what he may be up to. "Like this whole training has been so far?" she asks him, then grins.

"I am, yes. What do you have in mind?" Skye brushes some hair out of her face where it's still clinging after the exertion of their combat training, some perspiration visible on her skin.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Weird right? But hey, Matt's got a friend who swears he punched a dragon, so, who knows what's possible in this crazy world.

Matt grins, pushing his hand through his sweat dampened hair, the usually suit clad lawyer is in a pair of sweats and a t-shirt today, and he wanders over to the sofa where he left a strip of cloth before the combat training began. "Now, don't get the wrong idea," he says, tosssing the strip of cloth Skye's way. "But put this over your eyes."

He stands there smirking, waiting for the inevitable quips.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
As for Skye, she is currently on her training shorts, along with a sweaty shirt after their exertion, feet bare. She follows Matt towards the sofa, hands resting on her hips while she recovers her breath, a glance towards that strip of clothing. "Or the right idea?" that waggle of her brows that is very telling in the way she says those words, but then she is just laughing quietly.

And she seems to trust him implicitly, no hesitation when she brings the blindfold up to her eyes and draws it about her face, tightening it, darkening her world. "If you didn't want me to see you again you could had just said so." her tone rich with amusement. And yes..., quips ... But at least they aren't boxing quips! Improvement.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt grins easily at her remarks, "You know I can't see when you waggle your brows right?" he says, but had guessed it anyhow because it felt like something she'd be doing right then.

Matt barks a "Ha," at the quip. "Wow, even your quip game is improving I must be a good teacher," he jokes hands resting lightly on his hips. "Though what I want you to do is see me and the rest of the room."

Once the blindfold is on he puts a hand on her arm and shoulder and guides her back towards the training floor, helping her sit. "Just take a few moments to center yourself, just focus on your breathing and when you're ready, let your new senses tell you what they're feeling. It might be overwhelming but try not to shut any of it out yet. Just let it come."

He sits down across from her, one leg bent with an arm resting atop of it.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"What you just said confirms you can at least know when I am doing them sooooo... I will just keep doing it." Skye says in that easy manner of hers, so comfortable at being here with Matt now, that old friend that had steered her life in the best ways she could had hoped for.

"I'd say the best teacher. But I don't want you to get too full of yourself." A laugh that accompanies Matt's but then once they get to a more 'serious' posture she nods. Training.

She walks with Matt to the training floor, careful, still getting used to not seeing. Not easy at all. She settles down on a lotus position, hands curled together and she follows Matt's voice. A deep breath and then she begins to focus, slow, taking her time to get used to being in the dark, relaxing, even if she knows Matt is watching her right now.

But having that sense she relies so much on taken away from her means she needs to use her others, and even her own ability. She begins reaching out once her breathing has slowed further.

A rush, Matt was right. When she opens herself to them it all comes crashing on her, the vibrations all around. The ones outside in the street, Matt's beating heart, her own body. Ms. Rosenthal that is vacuuming on the apartment next to them. She lets out a gasp, face contorting in pain.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Flashing an easy smile at Skye's response, Matt says, "Guess you will," he does not sound at all put out by the idea. "And depending on who you ask? Too late," he adds of being full of himself. Then it was time to get down to business.

As Skye settles into the Lotus position, abandoning her old senses in favour of her new one, Matt settles his own considerable senses on her, taking in every sign that comes from her as she truly opens up to her senses.

The signs as it turn out are far from subtle, he can feel her body react to the pain, "Breathe," Matt counsels breathe. "Let pass through you, sense it but don't hang on, there's too much just ride the current of it, feel it and then we can look at holding on."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Yes, totally too late.." A brief roll of her eyes from Skye, but the amusement still shows on her tone while she settles in. She focuses then, head turning here and there, seeking, searching. Then that brief cry as she gets filled with everything. The 'breathe' words come out too loud too, the vibration of the sounds close to overwhelming her. But she finds the meaning, the voice that seems to guide her.

She is breathing hard now but eventually she does begin to breathe, slow, more measured breaths. The jumble continues though, she bringing her arms up to cover her head and let out another groan of pain, her body felt as if it was receiving the vibrations, absorbing them somehow. Sound, motion. It makes her tremble within, close to not being able to release it but eventually it starts to ease up.

She brings her hands down, slow, just letting that current go through, following the advice, even if she seems to hang in precarious balance now. "I .., feel it going past me.." she murmurs quietly.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
As Skye struggles in the rush of sensations brought on by her powers Matt rises and crosses to her side, a hand placed on her shoulder, squeezing gently as she starts to breathe slower.

"Good," he breathes barely above a whisper knowing she'd hear him as well as if he had spoken it aloud. "Just breathe, let it flow through you, let yourself get used to it," he says still speaking softly. Easing her through what had been more abruptly taught to him.

Shifting so he's sitting in lotus in front of her, he reaches out and takes both of her hands, "How does it feel?" he asks her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
While before she was just letting it all come in, attempting to figure out this new sense, harnessing it, now she just lets it go through her, feeling that current of vibrations that is ever present in the world. As if there was a new sense to her, one she barely understands yet. But Skye relaxes further at Matt's encouraging words. A soft exhale of breath. Yes, she might be able to do this.

When her hands are taken she can't help herself, she smiles, one that is near visible in the way she squeezes her mentor's hands. "Everything is moving, there is just so much ..." a beat, "But it is also beautiful.." her voice still very low.

"Is .., this how you see it?" She asks, curious. "The vibrations of what is around us?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt can feel the vibrations as they pass through Skye, but he doubts he percieves them like Skye does, their music written just for her.

He smiles with her, feeling that squeeze of her hands, wondering at her new discoveries almost as much as she does. It had been years since he first discovered how to master his own gifts but helping Skye brought it all back, the simple joy of discovery, the idea that his powers were actually gifts and not a curse like he had thought when they first manifested.

"I don't think so, I mean, not exactly anyhow. For me it's like a painting made up of all the things I feel, distance, heat, smell, sounds, each object and person is distinct, with it's own profile for a lack of a better word, a combination of sensations that makes them them," he says still speaking softly. "How is it for you? Tell me what you see."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
And indeed there is that happiness, that for once Skye isn't wrecking some piece of furniture or a lightbulb in Matt's place, but instead she is actually learning to harness it. Her hands seem to transmit just that in the way they again squeeze Matt's, how her fingertips brush on his, happy in the way she can share this discovery with him. A gift, not a curse.

Her head turns here and there as she tries to perceive something here and there, a note here, another there. It takes her a while to answer, as if she is trying to figure it all out. "Music." she finally says. "As if everything had a distinct tone to it. A distinct vibration that makes them unique." even if she cannot pinpoint them yet, just letting them rush through her. "It's all a jumble still but ..., sometimes I can pick up something. The rhythm." she murmurs, then smiles, turning her head to Matt again, a focus as she attempts to figure out Matt's own tune, reaching out.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt's hands do something similar, touching, feeling hers, providing an anchor of sensation for her to hold on to.

There's no rushing to find an answer from Matt, just quiet warmth and support. When she has an answer Matt smiles, "It sounds beautiful," he tells her. Then in synch with her he says, "Find something to focus on, tell me what you see."

Feeling her reaching out, Matt smiles, calming himself, letting her read him without trying to alter the experience out of nervousness or attempt at support, he just is, and he lets her drink that in.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"Maybe I will be able to show it to you one day." Skye replies, hopeful perhaps as she barely knows how both their powers work yet, or how they may be able to mingle or not. But she finds solace on that support, the anchor that has kept her from drifting out more than once. Through those vital points of her life.

A deep breath, again the focus, she breathes out real slow, focusing on what she can read out of Matt, the small tingle of vibration of his heart, the small motions. She isolates the rest, the other sounds, the vibrations that are ever present, focusing instead of Matt's rhythm fully as if there was nothing else in the world but him now.

"Mmm, beautiful. I can sense .., something.., your tune, powerful, determined." she says softly. "The way your heart beats." she adds.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"I'd like that," Matt says of blending their powers and seeing what she saw. He had no idea if it was possible but he was willing to find out. For now though he holds her hands, keeping her here in the moment when she examines him.

Listening to Skye's description of himself, Matt can't help but smiles, "Apparently my vibrations like to flatter me" he teases but he knows she's telling him what she sees. "But I can live with that."

When she mentions his heartbeat, he says, "Focus in on it, I want to try something, tell me what you hear."

Then, smirking, something she'll feel in a moment, Matt leans in to kiss Skye on the lips, intent on quickening his heart beat. Letting Skye feel it through the connecting vibrations between them.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
A soft grin comes to her lips. "Oh no..." she says quietly, then shakes her head. "They are now telling me you are getting too full of yourself again." a clear tease to that tone of hers, perhaps a bit release of the tension she was feeling earlier, at the rush of everything about her. The focus remains though, her expression regaining seriousness as she continues to feel, to the core of those vibrations that roll within Matt.

Then the request to focus on his heartbeat. She tilts her head to the side as if seeking the sound of it. There. She finds it, pinpointing it. It's beating good she finds, strong as she finds him to be--

The kiss does come unexpectedly though, that slow break on focus, almost losing the beat but she finds the tune again, a faster one. The kiss is returned, intense, lips locked with his while she continues to read Matt's heart, how it shifts as time passes, drawn to it.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
He deserved that tease, he chuckles hearing the soft grin in her voice, he lets it be trying not to break her concentration as he does.

Well until he kisses her anyhow, the kiss was brief but it does the job, his heartrate spikes at the contact of their lips, a little excited spark from the otherwise controlled man. Then he pulls back reluctantly, smiling, which comes through in his voice.

"So, how did it sound?" he asks her brows raised, curious.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That neck of hers still cranes up briefly, as if Skye didn't want it to break yet she still grins when it's over. "It felt.., umm." wonderful. No, he is asking for how it felt to her senses. A moment while she is gathering how it indeed felt to that new sense of hers. "A rising crescendo, then a spark in the end. A stronger beat that lingered for a bit still even after we were apart." she murmurs.

"It mirrors mine." She then confesses, a brief bite on her lower lip and then a deep breath.

"I feel I am getting closer to understanding what I can do." Skye then says, the thanks there in her tone, on how much he is helping her getting through this, one step at a time.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt isn't too keen on breaking away from the kiss either, but there's a sense of duty there, something mentorly that carries him through, though his hand does gently stroke her face after their lips have parted.

He smiles at the description, his hand finally moving from her face, danger lay in too much close contact after that kiss. Remember what you're trying to do here... he tells himself, it shows in his expression for a moment before he notes. "Noticed that," he says of it matching her own.

"I'm glad," Matt says getting to his feet and extending a hand to Skye, only to make a face and shake his head, so that's what it's like for people when they do that with him. "Stand up. We're going to have a little fun," a beat. "Training fun," he adds knowing how their minds are prone to wandering different sorts of paths when they're together.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Maybe it's Matt turning into Stick, he just needs that dour attitude or the constant sarcasm and then he might that full mentor Stick dreamed of. Well, hopefully Stick will continue to dream about that instead of it turning into a reality.

Skye smiles at the kiss and then at the touch on her face, it visible on how the skin of her cheek stretches up a bit when his fingers touch it. "Maybe there is something similar in powers then." she murmurs when Matt says he noticed her own beat, but she then picks herself to a more proper sitting position, focused. And indeed she doesn't note that extended hand... Or well, she notes some motion as she is still attuned to Matt but it doesn't translate to an offer to get up. Only when he speaks does she then begins to get up.

"I mean, I already got the blindfold..." she can't help herself, too easy to quip at the 'training fun' part. And yes, their minds are indeed prone to wander.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
God he hopes he's not becoming /that/ big of an asshole, but yes, there is a sense that at least for the moment they should focus on the training. Difficult as that can be for them both.

Feeling that smile Matt's mirrors it, not that Skye can see it, but it does come through when he speaks asking her to stand.

Once Skye's on her feet Matt starts to back away, chuckling at her quip, "Tempting," he says, and it was, but right now he had other games in mind.

"Try to open yourself to the room, to your senses, and come find me, without tripping over anything," he says, before immediately shifting to the left making his way silently towards the far wall with the windows.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Finishing getting up to her feet Skye then 'looks' around, too used to seeing to not do that attempt of checking her surroundings. She lets out a small sigh to herself and then shifts about on her footing, thoughtful. She more or less remembers how the room is. Lots of empty space.

She focuses on the voice that invades her senses with that vibration, a step given towards it, then another. No, it is just an echo of what is no longer there. Her brows furrow. "Hide and seek, mmm?" she smiles but then takes in a deep breath.

There is that flicker of a sensation when she sends out her own vibrations, in an attempt to find what is around them. The chairs to one corner. The discarded training gloves on the floor. She takes another pace forward, slow, attempting to find that 'music' of before. A very faint sound that begins to invade her senses, starting to make her veer towards that window. Slow, careful.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt grins as he watches Skye, remembering his own first tentative steps guided by his new senses. The smile only grows as she begins to move his way, slowly carefully.

Now when he did this with Stick, Stick started shifting furnature around to 'challenge' him grumping something about, "Ya think your enemies are going to take it easy on you kid?" when he complained it wasn't fair.

Matt didn't have Stick's sadistic streak, but he felt like cheating just a bit, throwing a wrinkle into the exercise for Skye to have to deal with.

His bare feet whisper on the floor, then the brick of the wall as he excutes a jump and pushes off the wall to grip a ceiling beam and begins to shimmy along it towards the stairs on the opposite side of the room. Senses on Skye as he does it, seeing if she'll follow his movements.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Cheating! But Skye expects some kind of trick on the 'game', even if unsure on what it may be. She moves with her hands extended forward, palms open, seeking. She is moving still towards that last place where she thought Matt was, as if that receiving to her senses wasn't a constant thing, or as if she couldn't just focus all the time on it. At least not yet.

But a few moments later there is a pause, she 'looks' up. Around again. "How are you doing that?" ninjas! She takes another deep breath, focusing again, becoming more aware and starting to walk towards those chairs. Yet the deeper focus on Matt makes her forget about a few other things, namely the gloves on the floor. She kicks on them with a mutter when she is going past but doesn't fall.

"Are you close to the stairs now?" Not that she expects a verbal answer, simply letting him know that she is aware somewhat. At least for now.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Ninjas are always cheating. Ask him how he knows!

He doesn't answer her question about how he does it, he just chuckles lightly, something she might hear, before he shuts it down and then makes the leaps he needs to reach the first landing on the stairs without a sound.

Still Skye's headed in the right direction, he focuses his senses on her smiling as she kicks the glove across the floor. He waits for her on the landing, breathing slowly, watching, impressed by how quickly her abilities are coming along.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
It's one thing to sense a heart, or someone, but quite another to sense an entire room all at the same time. It requires all her focus to figure out where Matt may be, but that leaves her unaware of what is about, unable to translate the chair in front of her. Ow.. And then it leaves her turned on the opposite direction. She grumbles out briefly.

Another brief sweep with her senses and she slooowly resumes her walk towards those stairs, now more careful, each step slow and surely.

Finally one foot is placed on the first step of those stairs, then another. "Are you trying to lead me somewhere?" she calls out, seeing if she can bait him to answer to make it easier. Maybe she can be a cheat too! Yet right now it seems she is able to detect motion a lot more easy than she can stationary objects. Barely any vibration to the latter.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt flinches and needlessly hides a smile as Skye walks into the chair, but manages to stay quiet, as he starts backing up the stairs heading for the door to the roof, slowly, step by step, matching her pace and keeping the same distance between them.

He was pushing her hard, but it seemingly was paying off.

No answer to the question though, except for ducking down to pick a coin off the stairs, it must have fallen out of his pocket at one point. He flicks it over the bannister to clack on the floor below.

The cheating continues!

Daisy Johnson has posed:
What is it with these ninjas somersaulting down from upstairs?! It reminds her of some of May's moves, then another grumble... She never can beat her. But no point in thinking about that now. She stops, turning about downstairs. Her brows knitting together. She is just about to take a step down when that tune .., just isn't right.., no, not the music she was listening earlier. And besides, ninjas don't make any sounds!

"Good try." Skye says with a brief smirk to her tone, turning upstairs again and continuing her relentless approach. Well, it's more slow than relentless but ...

She is eventually getting close to that roof door though, picking up on the loose threads of that music she picks up off Matt.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt is smiling almost ear to ear when Skye starts to turn but stops herself and angles back on him again. His mouth opens, 'not bad' right there on his tongue but he only just stops himself. That would give the game away, though now they're both on the same track.

The next thing Skye likely hears is the bolt to the door sliding open and its hinges squeeking along with the rush of cool spring air from outside.

Matt steps out there too, the pitch of his music changing with the wider spaces around him. He stops outside, bare feet on the rooftop, waiting for Skye to find him. now.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Skye is still very much blind right now, only that 'rope' which links her to Matt hanging and giving her a north to walk towards. Though the obstacles are still there, undetected. She almost trips on that last step of stairwell but then gropes forward to take hold of the door, finding some support there and stepping to that threshold. Where indeed it's a lot more difficult to pick up Matt's tune. Out here she is open to every type of vibration, the sounds of the street outside, the cars, everything.

It's enough to make her stagger, just as she was so open to attempt and find Matt.

Yet she doesn't fall, instead straightening up and seeking, attempting to tune out the other disturbances, letting them flow through her, breathing as Matt told her. Just let it all flow. She says nothing now (for a change!) and resumes her pacing, still towards Matt, as if she was meant to find him always.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt steps forward as Skye staggers, he knew this part would be rough on her, but he holds back instead of taking her by the shoulder like he wants. Still despite the choice, he can't help but hear Stick's voice imagining his form shaking his head.

'Soft.'

He shakes his own head, throwing off the ghosts of the past. He wasn't going to be an asshole like his own mentor was. He was leaning more into what his dad taught him, be tough, but care, he showed him you could teach and still be supportive, it didn't require the hand of a tyrant.

Skye was so close now, Matt extends his hands, waiting for her to join him.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Though at least Stick isn't actually around to act on that word and distribute some pain on them. Instead it's only Skye up here on the rooftop, bare foot, feeling the wind kissing her hair and stray it up and around, some of it tossed across her face. But she feels herself close to her target. Unmoving now and waiting.

She swallows, whatever she is just about to accomplish something important, one that is leading her on the path to mastering her own powers. As her fingertips finally find Matt's she speaks quietly. "I see you." words that have many meanings to the two of them.

But she doesn't stop, continuing to move forward until she can find him more properly, one hand resting on a shoulder.

"I see you." She repeats, gently, happyiness to Skye's voice.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Indeed it's just the two of them and Stick is just a memory, even if it was sometimes hard to fully break free of the lessons and scars the old man had given him.

Though that didn't mean there wasn't room for new lessons, new moments that will stick with him for the rest of his life. This was likely to be one of them. He smiles warmly, as Skye's fingers brush his own, then, widens when she places his her hand on his shoulder, each time declaring those words.

"I see you too," he says with the same tone of happiness, in his voice before he puts his fingers to her chin to tilt her head and if she lets him, kiss her, slowly, warmly.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
The same is true for Skye, some lessons just to tend to stick for a lifetime. And this one where she finally comes to grasp that she is actually able to do something with her power than simply destroy is a very important one. Showing her that she can be more.

She finds that pillar of strength that is Matt, there to receive her, no doubt about the smile she has on her lips now, one that remains even as her chin is tilted up, aligned to his and brought closer for a kiss.

She lingers on that kiss, gentle, just as warm and slow as Matt, sharing the moment with him in that windy rooftop, now bare of words, the attunement still riding, she feeling how their heartbeats seem to spark once again for each other. The hand on his shoulder squeezes it, the other up and brushing over those fingers that are tilting up her chin.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt takes her in his arms as they kiss, being that pillar, offering shelter, in the same ways she offers it to him. An archor in the storm, a person he can be totally free with, someone who embraces all of him instead of picking and choosing the best parts, or the parts that suit them to see.

Or at least what he's shown so far of them, she hadn't seen the 'devil' in the devil of Hell's Kitchen, and he was in no rush to let it out, just quietly confident that she would understand.

Slowly and with reluctance, he pulls away from the kiss to smile, "How do you feel?" he asks her, his hand returning to her chin again, bumping his nose to hers.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
Skye's chest heaves up and down, slow, feeling that same freeness, understood by Matt, both her past and what she is becoming, someone different that she hopes will be better than what she was in the past. Perhaps the only person that has been a part of every single part of her life as it morphed throughout the years.

As for the devil..., she had but only heard rumors, nothing concrete. It still amazed her though, a protector, one that hadn't let whatever difficulties that had been tossing their way to limit what they could be. Her thoughts are still lingering there, on the connection they feel just when the kiss breaks.

"Understanding a bit more of your world." a pause. "Well, our world." no point trying to even consider their lives aren't entwined by now, "More attuned." she then adds, "With time and practice I feel I will be able to harness this ability." the bumping of noses then making her grin, she reaching up for a small return brush of nose on nose.

"How do you feel?" she then asks.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
There's a smile for Skye's words, her declaration, 'their world', he didn't have many who could claim they shared this part of that world, and his heart swells to hear it.

As for her question? "Amazing," he says. "Skye, it's like feeling my powers again for the first time, but more than that, I'm happy there's someone else who understands, and even more so that it's someone I care about." He kisses her briefly then, a brush of the lips, a little physical connection to go with the one growing between their spirits. She hadn't been there for all the moments that shaped him, but she was a constant in enough to leave a mark on his life, one he didn't want to be rid of.

"You'll definitely get a grip on your powers, Skye," he says. "You're doing well." He sighs, stepping back from her reluctantly even as his hand seeks hers. He turns them out towards the city, the picture in his mind giving him a sense of the low roofs and water towers of Hell's Kitchen and the towers of Mid Town beyond them. The sounds and feels of cars moving on the street, and people going about their lives. The city's beating heart.

"What do you see?" he asks her.

Daisy Johnson has posed:
"I am glad for that." Skye replies when Matt mentions how he feels, a mirror to her own, noting the connection that is ever growing between them. With her hand now gripping Matt's she feels the brush of that wind on her face again, now that he is not there to keep her warm, the same way that there is again that rush of vibrations through her, the world of Hell's Kitchen shaping up against her.

What does she see? Cars on the street, the talks between people, how everything seems to mingle to create a symphony, a music that step by step she begins to unravel. A child that runs up to her mother to show her a drawing they made. The meeting of work friends that are having a beer on a bar across. A man that curses their bad luck at a flat tire.

"Life." She finally says after a long time in silence. "I see life." the vibrations within her appearing to be in tune that beating heart of the city, listening, receiving the near surroundings of the building they stand upon. She relaxes then, resting her head back and letting herself take it all in, a soft exhale of breath, seemingly at peace.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Me too," Matt says kissing Skye's hair before he steps away letting her feel the wind and embrace the sensations of Hell's Kitchen, his home.

Her answer to his question draws a smile to Matt's face and he gently squeezes Skye's hand. "Exactly," he says. "I'd hoped you'd see it like I did, it's one of the final pieces of me, this city, feeling it like I-" he stops, correcting himself, "We, do. Figured it'd help understand me a little bit better along with your gifts, and why I do what I do." It was imposible for him to want to protect all this, this life he felt outside his window every day.

He knew she understood why, he had since the day they met last year, where both of them had in a way given their blessing to the crazy undertakings that they had been plannning, but this he hoped would make it clearer and in doing so make him clearer too.

"Also, wanted you to see the beauty of your powers, sure they hurt, and they're scary, but you're going to be able to do so much with them and the first step is letting go of the fear and embracing," he sweeps a hand out, "This."

Daisy Johnson has posed:
That small correction, when Matt says 'we' instead of 'I' makes her squeeze his hand back, a signal that Skye indeed is starting to understand more about his life, on this need to protect the people around them. He had told her one year ago, but experiencing was indeed something else. Because how could he not want to protect this life that teemed around them? One they only needed to focus to listen to. The city beat.

"This is a beautiful place, Matt. And our powers, it makes me figure it out too. What we do, you in your own way, and me in mine. We can't help but -do-, instead of letting this world go by us." she murmurs, shoulder against shoulder now, fingers twining with his in a more intimate grip. She understands. And she knows it will be her path too, to protect others.

"Thank you again for .., everything." She turns her head up towards Matt then rests her forehead to his shoulder briefly.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The faint squeeze brings a fond smile to Matt's lips and along with it the warmth of contentment in his chest. Someone understood.

He turns her way at her words, brow quirking a little before he smiles, "Guess we have similar job descriptions," he says, thinking about it, he hadn't really asked about it, having a constitutional lawyer's suspicion of intelligence agencies so fond of overreaching, he sort of imagined it as some sort of Orwellian nightmare world, but giving it consideration, he realized he was likely wrong if Skye had found a home there. He couldn't imagine not helping people. "You should tell me about SHIELD some more," before quirking a wry smile. "Unless it's all classified of course." Are corny spy jokes likely to enter the rotation at this point? Likely.
