The Tower

Location:	Callista Heights Luxury Condos
Synopsis:	Sam Guthrie attempts to confront Allegra Caradenza about her mutant powers. Allegra insists that she is not a mutant.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    They were on the roof, the wind ruffling through hair, Allegra in her totally-not-romantic pajamas consisting of soft pajama pants with happy little pandas roaming accross them. She was holding the gift that Sam had fished back up for her, and she purses her lips, giving it a little shake.

    "What is it?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and looks at her seeming to find her beautiful even in her panda jammies. "I found something I thought you would like, so I wanted to get it for you for your birthday." He makes sure he stays near to her. Roofs can be windy and he making sure he is close enough to get to her if need be.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "you.. you didn't have to, you know. We hardly know one another." the dark-haired woman replies gently, and she carefully opens the gift, calloused little fingers drawing over the box a moment before opening it up to take a look inside!

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie watches her reaction as she finds the necklace with the treble cleft with her birthstone in it. "I know I did not have to, I like you Alexis, or should I call you Allegra? " He will look to her, and says "I think you are a very beautiful, sweet, brave, possibly stubborn " he smiles at her a bit "Woman. there are a few other things I think but well not sure how ready you are to talk about them.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    An aqumarine sparkles in the treble, and Allegra's eyes light up in amusement -- and her cheeks flush a little bit. "I'm not all that," she ventures quietly, letting it spakle in the lights of the city as she admires it quietly.

    "Foolish, selfish..." she replies quietly, "And quite stubborn."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Wanting to help people, and stepping up to speak for the world to get along better. He looks to her, and says "You were not selfish, you may have let your good intentions over rule your thinking about what might happen." He looks to her, and says "Some things are going to come out no matter how much we try to keep them hidden, and you just gotta try your best to prepare for them."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "You mean like how I'm standing on a rooftop with a mutant lad who's totally mad?" Allegra questions, her eyebrows rising up as she crosses one arm over her breasts. "My father would have a fit. Maybe Sanjeev too. This is only something like forty per-cent safe."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "Well, Ah figured it was more safe for you up here than me down there with you." He will motion her to come with him to a a place behind one of the AC units "In case someone is watching and also will block the wind some." He explains. "But that was not the thing I was talking about you hiding hon."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "You mean the whole 'heiress to an entertainment dynasty and massive vineyards and olive groves in Italy' thing?" Allegra inquires, ducking back behind one of the AC units with Sam, and wrapping her arms a little around herself. It was a bit chilly up there on the roof.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie will move to put his arm around her to share his body heat with her, if she does not move away from him. but instead of answering her question he will say "Ah was working in the mine back home, and there was a collapse me and Mr. Lewis was caught under some debris and Ah was not going to leave him. Ah was trying to get him free and the ceiling started to collapse and Ah felt like there was molten fire in me veins, and my power kicked in and Ah carried Mr. Lewis and myself through the side of the mountain to the surface."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "/Through/ the side of the mountain?" the girl inquires, her eyes going wide as she leans against Sam, thankful for the warmth and the closeness. "I can appreciate the feeling of power under crisis -- an incredible story." she whispers back to Sam, drawing her eyes up to his face.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Yea, when Ah am flying not much can hurt or stop me." He rubs her side and will move to wrap her in a hug gently "Want to tell me yours?"

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "What? My past? Why I started to go against my father's teachings and became curious about mutants and metahumans?" the girl considers a moment, but does shrink from under the hug of his arm.

    "I grew up positively gifted. I mastered Piano by the age of ten. Violin by twelve. Italian style Ballet by the time I was fifteen. I never never wanted for anything, but always felt the pressure to be The Best that Humanity could offer... so there's that." she gives a shrug. "I'm afraid I'm just not a particularly interesting person, otherwise."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Alexis," He turns to her a bit more and says "the other day, I was in Mutant town and a group called the Purifiers, violent anti mutant terrorists. They went to grab a priest, some friends and Ah protected the the priest, one of the purifiers were hurt, his friend;s powers kicked in and he saved his friend. Healed him totally. The hurt guy attacked his friend cause he was a mutant." He looks her in the eyes "Hiding your powers can be difficult, hiding them without practice and understanding them is even harder."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "Well, luckily someone stepped in for the thrilling heroics... grabbing a priest is a pretty sore spot, Man of God and all -- but I feel for the young man who suddenly had to turn about. Is.. he all right?" she questions, looking up to Sam, "The lad with the powers? Are you looking out for him?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie nods, and says "Yea, me and some of my friends, that's part of what we do. We help those who end up flying through mountains, healing people or controlling fire." He tells her looking into her ees.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    There's a little light in her eyes, but it quickly turns and cools to fear as she turns away from him. "All very noble. After all, there are plenty out there who wish mutants ill. These Purifiers... they seem like a pretty bad lot. Especially if they're about Mutant Town... hope Father isn't funding them. That'd be a mess and a half after that business at the gala." she states.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie moves to hug her again and says "Alexis, please let me help you." He says "Ah worry about you, Ah don't want to see you hurt. Ah don't want to see anyone hurt, specially someone Ah like." He tells her.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    She plants her hands on his chest, and she keeps her distance.

    "Help me? Help me do what? My face is now plastered on entertainment rags around the world for standing up to Power Girl. Are you going to just assign yourself as my mutant bodyguard in case someone comes after me from your side? Risk yourself for meta-human haters because you've got a crush?" she asks, trying to forcibly segue from the obviousness of the fire control.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles and says "No, not because of a crush, because it is the right thing to do." He looks at her, and says "Human or mutant, people deserve to be watched over and protected, from those who believe in might makes right. "No mater how Ah felt towards you you deserve to be protected. Heck hon, Ah will be honest you were not the only one Ah was watching after. Ah was concerned some would come to try to hurt your father as well.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "Which is very kind of you, but you do realize if a mutant or metahuman does come and hurt my father, it's over for them Pro-HUMANA and groups like these Purifiers will happily use the events to fuel the fires of hatred and fear, and then I won't be the one who needs protecting... it'll be you, and the lad who healed his friend."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Just as there are humans who will harm people from hatred, there are mutants as well. There are those who would use it to fuel the fires of that, and that we as mutants are better than humans. It is all hogwash we are all one people. Mutant, human, Meta human, heck even most of the aliens are all just people are it is our job to watch after one another, and from what Ah have seen you believe the same thing."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "And I do believe that. We should be looking out for one another; we're all each other has in some cases." the dark-haired gil gives a small, sad smile, and rubs the back of her head.

    "I realize there's bad folks on both sides."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Heck you even worry about this stubborn mutant boy who you think put himself in danger to watch after you." He smiles at her

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "I worry about this stubborn mutant lad who I *know* put himself in danger to watch over me." Allegra replies wryly, and she does crack a smile, "And if it's not over a crush, then it must be because he's just got a great, big heart."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie smiles a bit and says "Well maybe the crush helped but pretty sure he would have done it anyway." He looks at her and says "Sometime it can be hard to admit things even to ourselves." He looks to her, and says "I like you Alexis, like you a lot and you know human or mutant true attraction does not care which.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    The smaller girl gives a slight smile, and lowers her gaze. "You're a charming lad, Sam, I will give you ever bit of that, and you've got a bully-sized heart..." she looks to the gift, and she gives a smile.

    "I can't risk your safety for my satisfaction."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks her in the eye and says "Well, then come away from here with me, let me take you somewhere you will be safe and away from those who want to hurt you." He looks into her eyes.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "... I..." she begins, and she draws back and away from Sam, and she shake sher head. "I can't, Sam. I'm not like you. People know my face, know who I am. The only safe place for me is to never go anywhere... and what kind of life is that?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie steps closer to her, and says "Then you fight for the life you want hon." He puts his hands on her shoulders, and says "You "Allegra Alexis Caradenza are an 18 year old beautiful woman, and you deserve to have your life. You want to stand up for what you believe in, and your willing to do it, sometimes without thinking before you do. So, let me stand with you when your standing up for what you believe in.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "One." Allegra holds up her finger. "Allegra Maria Maugarite Caradenza. Alexis Carr is a nom d' plume. Two." she holds up a second finger. "My life, in the grandest scheme of things is unimportant, utterly. I'm the face of an anti-mutant, anti-meta artist league. And that is how I shall be remembered, because the minute I publicly go against my fahter in a way that I can't explain away -- I will lose everything, Sam." she whispers, "... and that's why I'm selfish."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her, and says "Ah can't give ya a penthouse, and promise you this life, but Ah can tell you that you can make it without all these, and Ah will help you even. you are a strong woman who is willing to stand up to Powergirl, you can do this. Ah will help you get a job, and help ya find a place. I am willing to help you in any way you will let me hon."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "And in exchange make you a target. I'm not willing to do that to you, Sam. Like I said, I'm not like you." she states, trying to double down on the line she's fed him, and then she just huffs, and pulls away, bringing her hands up and rubbing her face.

    "Why, Sam? Why do you want to 'help' me out of this imaginary situation?"

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Looks to her, and says "It is the right thing to do, Ah like you, ... and Ah don't want to see your father hurt you, when you can't hide it any more." He says."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "Hide /what/? My tendency to sneak out and play impromptu on the sidewalk for donations?" Allegra asks incredulously, spreading her arms out as if in challenge.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her and says "Your mutant abilities, your pyrokinetic mutant abilities.' He looks to her, and says "You already almost lost control and used them in public, what happens when you do and your dad sees Allegra."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "M-my-- oh, that's rich -- me? A mutant? The Face of Humanity? Pfft. No, no no.. you're mad, absolutely bollocks mad." Allegra states, though her voice tilts up in pitch as sh turns to hop to her bare feet, and head towards the access door to the roof.

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie says, "Allegra, I saw...and I would be wiling to bet there is photo evidence in the video from the event." He sighs and is pretty sure this is going to hurt, but he will walk over putting a hand on her shoulder expecting her to lash out."

Alexis Carr has posed:
    "... you need to go, Sam." Allegra states quietly, shrugging his hand off her shoulder. She keeps her composure. She was scared of what would happen if she lost it.

    "You need to go now. Thank you for the gift. It really is lovely."

Samuel Guthrie has posed:
Sam Guthrie looks to her and says "Call me if you need or want me." He sighs shoulders falling some and he will walk over to the roof where he had the ropes tied and starts to undo them, yup he is making sure no trace left to get her in trouble.

Alexis Carr has posed:
    Allegra releases a breath she didn't recall holding, and goes to open the door... locked. Of course.

    "... I don't suppose you could let me down the rope first so that I'm not stuck up here?"
