Questioning the Scorpion
Date of Scene: 24 March 2021
Location: 6B - Elektra's Condo
Synopsis: Matt comes for a visit with questions about Black Sky and DoppelMatt. Elektra doesn't open much about it, but at least she says she will help in capturing the doppelganger. That's a good thing, right?
Cast of Characters: Matthew Murdock, Elektra Natchios

Matthew Murdock has posed:
After Daisy had told Matt what was on the tape the next place he had to visit was clear: Elektra's. If the other him was anything like he was she'd be the person he'd reach out to, or well was the person who he figured might be the most receptive to what the other him had to say.

So calling ahead, Matt arrived at Elektra's Soho penthouse the doorman letting him into the building before he made his way to her door and knocked.

This was either going to be a strange conversation or a trap and Matt wasn't sure which of those worried him more.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Matt is visiting? The REAL one? And announced himself before coming? Yes, it was prime grounds for an ambush. In fact Elektra *had* considered so, it would only take a call to a certain number to set it up. But at that last moment she chooses not to do so. Why? Maybe she isn't too certain about so? Or some doubts about that doppelganger. Or maybe even simply following her own agenda.

Yet it's not as if she would make it easy. Arriving at the penthouse floor it's easy enough to hear the gentle music coming from inside her place. A japanese shamisen fills the air, soft and soothing, along with the aroma of incense with just the faintest traces of rose petals. Maybe a throwback to that first times they met. Yes, she doesn't play fair.

The door is open to receive Matt and senses can perceive her as being on the couch, lounging on what most likely is sensed to be a long robe of silk that doesn't do too much to cover her. Does she care though? She knows Matt's senses so it's not as if it'd make *too* much of a difference if she was simply naked.

"Good evening, Matthew." Her voice is heard, "Been a while since I have received your visit." such a judgemental tone.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt does make the ambush all too easy trusting Elektra hasn't sided with his doppleganger, though when he steps through the door it seems three's an ambush of a different sort waiting for him. "Huh," he says as the music, the incense and of course what Elektra was wearing hits him all at once. "Hope I'm not intruding, if you've got a date tonight, I can be quick, just have a couple of questions for you?"

Though he does nod and allow, "True enough," about it being awhile since he's been here. "Like what you've done with the place."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"You are not intruding.." Elektra replies in a soft tone that sounds even more dangerous than her usual one, "Come, join me." she offers in the ways of hospitality. "If you are hungry or in need of a drink you may serve yourself at your leisure." perhaps a reminder of their past.

The woman's eyes are fully on Matt now, watching him intently, the posture. The *differences*. Now that she has seen his more .., 'wild' side it was time to again re-appreciate the real man. To consider the choices in front of her. "It's but a place to rest. It's not home, but then again a home is made of people isn't it?" they had this talk before. Perhaps a good long, long years ago.

"Is it business or pleasure tonight, Matthew?" She asks. As for heartbeat, it looks as neutral as ever. But she has never been the easiest to read.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt does help himself to a drink dropping a couple of ice cubes into a glass and pouring himself some Macallan whiskey over them. "Can I get you anything?" he asks, taking care of it if she does before he heads to sit on the sofa with her. He definitely seems different than his copy more in control, more restrained than his wilder self. "And true," he says about homes thinking of how Daisy had made his place a home.

As for business or pleasure, he's honest, "Business mostly, but it's good to see you Elektra."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
A macallan. So obvious! Elektra perhaps smirks at the choice. Specially as it does bring some memories. And of course that she asks for, "A martini." what else? She watches the man arrive, taking the glass between elegant fingertips and lifting it as if in a toast, "It is good to see you as well, Matthew. Even if you do seem serious enough. But then again, for you to come to my house like this..." she trails off. If she knew anything about what was going on she certainly wasn't going to give it away *that* easily.

She takes a brief drink from the martini, a faint smile behind it and then she says, "But relax. You can do so under my hospitality." she says, "No harm will come upon you here."

Not that Elektra can sound comforting even if she wanted to.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt knew that was coming and so is quick with mixing and pouring her martini just the way he knows she likes it. When he joins her on the couch he clinks glasses and then takes a sip, enjoying the taste of the scotch as it burns its way down to his stomach. "I trust you, Elektra," he says and actually seems to mean it. "Anyhow, there are a couple of things I wanted to talk to you about, first, while I was away I learned something about the Black Sky. It's a person not a thing, and definitely still a weapon despite all that." He turns to her, "That match anything you heard on your end?" he asks.

Elektra Natchios has posed:
A brow arches just so. Perhaps some surprise at the man so directly stating that he trusts her? Elektra then replies, "You have always been too easy on trusting." and to forgive. But it's not as if she'd admit to *any* wrongdoing in their past. Nope. None.

She brings her legs closer so the man can sit more easily on the couch, and so her feet aren't on him too. But she is still lounging on the couch, elbow on the arm of it and she in that 'resting lioness' pose, watching.

Mentioning the Black Sky has her blink. She furrows her brows, "A person..." somehow she doesn't appear *too* surprised. Her brows do furrow, it perhaps confirming something. "It goes towards something I looked into a small while back." she frowns. "I had this old .., acquaintance that I recently terminated any ties with that was holding a coffin on a Roxxon building. It had symbology related to Black Sky. But I couldn't discern much of it. I just cannot understand why the Hand would be so focused on getting those artifacts if it would be a person. How did you discover this information though?" Yes, she is curious!

Matthew Murdock has posed:
it's true, Matt can trust and forgive too easily sometimes. It's burned him before, but where another person might grow cynical, Matt remains the same, clinging to the hope that people can be as good as he believes they are. "I don't see it that way," he says with a smile, he did enjoy these debates. "I just have faith in people, that there's a little good in everyone," he says attention focusing more fully on Elektra. "More than a little in some." Does he mean her? It's hard to say, it seems that he might though.

"You heard something like that then?" he asks before she mentions the coffin. "Huh," he says, ignoring the part about cutting ties he has a feeling he doesn't want to know how that was done. "Maybe they need the coffin and the relics to I dunno, power the Black Sky up. Sort of like, how Danny had to punch a dragon," allegedly. "To become the Iron Fist."

As for where he heard it he makes a face and takes a sip of his drink before he can make himself say it. "A seer told me. I know, it sounds dumb but she was right about other things, so figured it was worth taking seriously."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
In a way it was all part of the challenge. Of the 'game'. Elektra hadn't forgotten the mission that she had been giving by Stick so long ago. And Matthew had been the one that got away .. It felt like there was something more to their story still. And would she take shortcuts with the doppelganger? Mmmm. "You have always seen things differently." she admits even if she doesn't hide the amusement on those words, "But perhaps you try to hard sometimes in attempting to see something that may not be there. You have a big heart, but it can also be your downfall if you are not careful." if anything Elektra was a survivor.

The talk on Black sky has her nodding slowly, "Could very well be. Still, I do not have access to the coffin anymore. And no i dea where it might be now." and by her tone it seems as if she was none too pleased with that fact. "Yet it also reminds me, I have someone you should meet sometime. Someone who can be of aid on what we have been doing here." a grin, "You will just have to keep an open mind about it." and of course that she teases by not saying /why/ he should do it.

She does lift a brow about the talk of a seer but then ..., she nods. Surprisingly? Maybe not. She knows how powerful prophecies can be. "You are the type that wouldn't be swindled by some false prophet spouting lies. It is not dumb to me. Just .., worrying." but then she snorts. "And a seer, uh? Been up to adventures, have you?"

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"It's possible," Matt says of seeing things that aren't there. "But if I'm wrong, that's still better than living in a world with no hope of people being better than they are," he says. "Even if not believing that would save me a few knocks." He smiles faintly. "I have faith in you Elektra," he tells her flat out.

"We'll have to find it again," he says of the coffin before he raises a brow about this friend. "Oh? What am I going to need to keep an open mind about?" he asks, grin playing on his lips.

"They were definitely telling the truth, but they weren't telling me for my sake so much as to push buttons I think," he says. "But for all that, I think that she wasn't trying to help makes me trust her prediction more."

"You could say that," he says of adventures. "Went to Nepal for awhile to take Daisy to visit her mother and meet her people. It was...interesting."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Nope, Elektra doesn't talk about her friend anymore. Seems like it will be something when they meet. Typical Elektra! But there's a faint grin playing at her lips. It's a grin that fades just a touch when he flat out tells her about having faith in her. Stubborn Matthew. The sound of her snorting is heard, along with a, "You are as stubborn as it gets." but at least she isn't denying it now.

She instead takes a drink of her martini, one longer than she should, a moment to process that alcohol trailing down before she speaks up, "Who knew knowing the future made one prickly? One should be careful about the blessings they seek.." again the smile returning to her lips, "And Nepal, is it?" now that *sounds* interesting, "Maybe I should meet this Daisy one day. I will have to drop by." most likely unannounced. And she inserts just that tiny amount of danger to her tone. Ah, yes. A meeting between the two would certainly be a dangerous thing. Which makes it just the more enticing to the assassin.

"I wish I could say I have had as exciting adventures. Or well, perhaps just not as exotic." she says, "What can I say, I do not simply laze in my small penthouse all day."

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"I know," Matt admits about his stubbornness. "But I don't give up on the people who are important to me, Elektra, and that still includes you."

"You have no idea," he says about knowing the future making one prickly. "Anyhow their information seems solid even if I have questions about their motives. "And we'll see about you meeting Daisy sometime," he says in a non-committal way as if to brush off the idea for now.

"Right," he says unconvinced of Elektra's laziness, but he doesn't push beyond saying, "I think we both know you're anything but lazy," a beat. "Spoiled maybe, but not lazy." The tease is delivered with a smile, one that's short lived before he's looking serious again. "Actually I did want to ask about one thing from when I was away, and it's going to sound weird, but did you happen to see me around?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
Still. That's quite the keyword. One would know how much hope Matt would still have on Elektra after all this was done. It's just so easy for Elektra to want to be contrary and prove someone wrong. Hmph. But she takes in a quick breath and exhales slowly, relaxing.

Elektra doesn't seem to want to press too much about meeting Daisy, that project being put on the 'backburner', her focus being on what is said next. And of course that being called spoiled means she extends one foot to deliver a kick to the man's leg. It's just a poke, not aimed at any vital spot. Simply something a friend would do to another. "Spoiled, is it?" she lets out a resigned sigh. "I will consider it while I am swimming on my infinity pool later tonight..."

"See you around?" She then echoing the question, a brow arching. "You may want to be more specific, when were you away?" she asks, but then gestures with her hand, "Yet as I told you when you came in it's been a time since we have been together like this.." all true! She knows the other is a doppelganger! Heartbeat a-ok.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
Matt barks out a laugh at Elektra's retort coupled with the poke of her toes into her legs. It was almost like old times, he takes a sip of his whiskey.

"Told you it was going to sound weird," he tells her good naturedly. "And yeah, did you see me or someone who looks like me while I was away?" he reiterates the question, not even listening to her heartbeat, see, trust! "Someone broke into my place while I was gone and stole the suit, and when we tracked down a picture of him Daisy said the guy looked exactly like me. She told me dopplegangers from other dimensions," he pauses a moment to shake his head at the fact he just said that and was totally serious about it. "Are here, and trying to take over people's lives, it sounds like mine tried it here when he found I was gone."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"Doppelgangers from other dimensions..." Is Elektra saying it to confirm it? Or to perhaps not just right out dismiss it as absurd? Matt appears serious. But it also confirms to her that what the doppelganger was telling her was true. In a way perhaps. "So another you stole your suit, is out there playing Daredevil while you were out..?" she mmms, tapping a finger to her lips. "It does explain a few things I had been hearing out in the streets.." maybe the latest violence of Daredevil.

"I would recognize the real you in an instant if I saw them though." Which is pretty much true as well. She smiles faintly. "What are you thinking on doing about this though? Take the guy out? If he is anything like you he will be a dangerous one to go after."

In fact she wasn't even sure if she could take him out on her own. Which was also why she hadn't even tried to consider it.

Matthew Murdock has posed:
The lack of surprise from Elektra brings a frown to Matt's lips. "You don't seem that surprised," he remarks, though he does not to confirm her summary of events. "Yeah, that's about the size of it," he says. "I think he's killing too, when he's in the suit," he frowns. She'd know how much that would bother him.

As for what he plans to do. "Daisy says SHIELD has a way to send them back where they come from, so the plan is to track him down, drag him to SHIELD and send him home."

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"It's not the suit that makes the man, Matthew." Perhaps comforting words to the man, Elektra simply arching a brow at the frown. So much for trusting! "And we have seen too much in our lifetime to be surprised anymore. Maybe when the little green men come down from outer space I will be surprised. Oh wait, we have those around already too." a smirk. Of course that she has been dancing about it all the whole evening. But then again Elektra *always* does that, no matter what.

"If the man thinks like you he will be waiting, and prepared." She tells Matt. In warning? Maybe. "You will have to be sure that you will do what needs to be done."

Does that include killing? Who knows? But she certainly is curious to see how Matt will react to his doppelganger when they meet up. In fact, there's almost an eagerness to it that's felt on the woman. She never did give up on having the man join her side, did she?

Matthew Murdock has posed:
"Good point," Matt allows taking another, longer, sip of his drink. "The world has definitely gotten stranger in the last few years hasn't it?" he asks. Not that their lives had been any flavour of normal before that.

"And I'll be ready to take him down, and send him back, if that's what you mean?" he replies knowing that she was likely hoping for more, for him to finally cross the line and kill. "And if he's ready for me then I better bring some help," he says, nodding to Elektra. "Interested?"

Elektra Natchios has posed:
"It has." Elektra admits with a nod, "Not that it was normal in the past already." a faint grin, "Ninjas, dragon punchers, men that can ricochet bullets off their abs..." yes, of course Elektra would take note of Luke Cage's abs, "But we have our own degree of strange already too." she drains the rest of her martini, putting the glass aside.

Attention then goes back to Matt, "He may not give you that opportunity." of taking him down without killing. But then the suggestion has her nodding, "Of course. You know you can count on me to make sure that suit returns to it's rightful owner." see? Dancing the words.

"I will have my Sais ready."
