School Break
Date of Scene: 28 March 2021
Location: Pym's Midtown Lab
Synopsis: HHHS faces an uncertain future and this makes Morrigan, Mike and Hank, uncertain.
Cast of Characters: Michael Hannigan, Morrigan MacIntyre, Hank Pym

Michael Hannigan has posed:
The lab is quiet considering the purpose of said lab and the playlist of the one who owns it. There's no music playing. No noisy experiments running. Just three persons gathered in the living room area of the structure taking up their respective seats.

SOMEONE. We're not going to name who. But SOMEONE brought over cookies. And sugar cubes. They're currently setting on a table. Mike is not currently partaking in any but is just leaned back in the seat, looking to the other two. "So- Last night's news was. Messed up."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's generally easy to get ahold of, but the last few days it's not been that way. With SHIELD news and other things going on she's been dark. Much like SHIELD now is. The red head ends up at Hank's lab though after dark because she's not really in the mood to deal with the sun. She doesn't take a seat, she's standing and looking around at things, "Yeah. That's an understatement." the Irish woman states with a frown. "I'm going to extend break and see if this is all some misunderstanding. I don't really feel like the Government trying to wrench the school out of our hands and most of us are SHIELD in some way." she sighs.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym sets out mugs and a pot of coffee and one of tea. He nods emphatically. "I agree. I feel better with SHIELD as our parent organization. They understand transhumans and non-humans better than the government does. And if they put us under the New York City Department of Education... better we have Dr. Doom running the place. I mean sure if any of us saw something troubling -like someone starting fires with their mind, we'd deal with. But now... the government will deal with them. Have you heard from any parent, Morrigan? Are they onboard with this takeover?" He looks at the cookies and takes a choice one. "Please sit down... you're wasting energy you should spend planning."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
Mike looks over to Morrigan. "Most? Just how much of the school is SHIELD?" The musician leans forward, getting himself some coffee. "If they do take over, Would you have much staff left?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Hank and there's a shake of her head, "It is not publicly known that SHIELD is who is responsible for the school." she tells him. "So I'm guessing the only way we'll hear from parents is if I announce to the public that it is, and then we've got other issues." she admits as she raises a hand to rub at her face. She drops herself into a seat and gives a frown, "What sort of planning do I do when I have zero information outside of this?" she asks. There's a look to Mike, "Umm, the school is a SHIELD project. We have multiple agents on staff and I'm a consultant as is Hank. A lot of it is SHIELD adjacent." she tells him. "The kids won't like the school being taken over. I guess we could close temporarily, let things blow over...but that hurts them." she frowns at that.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym head tilts. Ant-like, yes. He notes her frown and says softly, "Then we begin by gathering more information. Perhaps our SHIELD pals can tell us more if we can find them? I can find them, I think. If they've set up a temporary HQ in the tristate area. I'm not afraid of being locked up till this idiocy is over... if they can catch me. I mean they're probably going to try to bring me in for questioning. A highly placed officer is a close friend. Sorry, Mike, I feel the less I tell you right now the better it will be for you. Hmmm maybe the captain can dig up some information for us? I'm sorry if I sounded impatient or rushed you Morrigan. Sometimes talking about this, you stumble over what you can do or at least what your goals are." He takes several sugar cubes and adds them to his coffee.

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"Hmm." Mike gives a bit of a frown, "If most of the staff is SHIELD and the government gets involved and tells them to go, there might not be a school to run. Even if it is taken over."

Fingers tap to the side of the mug in thought. But being he knows even less about the situation than Morrigan, there's little to consider. "If the students need to finish out their year at other schools, will they all have that option?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan takes a moment to take a deep breath and then let it out. Trying to find a center, it only half works. "I'm just angry. It happens. But decision making when angry leads to little good." she states. "No reason for you to apologize, Hank." she tells him. "Sadly I don't have a lot of folks to contact for information gathering. I guess I could just pop into the Trikelion and ask to whoever is in charge now." she chuckles. "Don't go get arrested. We really don't want that for you." she points out to Hank. Then she gives a look to Mike and there's a nod, "Yes, we have other schools that could take them in, but I'm guessing Vivian and others might reject that idea." she admits quietly.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym reaches over to a small remote on the counter and hits a button. Soft music begins playing. "Vivian found a safe spot here. There aren't many for her people. You're right though. Angry minds do not plan well. When things got this bad on the team though, we'd tell an Avenger who will remain nameless to shut up. Then someone would give us a rousing speech and... we'd go punch stuff and throw energy beams and magic and arrows. We can't do that here." He chuckles a little at a particular memory. "I guess all we can do right now is sit tight and keep our mouths shut and our eyes and ears open."

Michael Hannigan has posed:
"And make sure any contingency plans for the students are in order." Mike adds in, giving a bit of a nod. "Better to plan for the worst and nothing happen than the worst happening and having nothing to follow up with."

He glances over towards the speakers. "...Hank. I have other songs, you know?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I definitely can't do that." Morrigan states to Hank. "Need to set a good example for the kids. Even if some of them want to punch government officials in the face." she chuckles. She's heard the song before, she knows that it's Magical, but the woman doesn't seem to show any other effects to it. When Mike tells Hank that he's got other songs though she looks between the two of them. She doesn't say anything though.

She stands, smoothing over the jacket she wears and moves to retrieve her motorcycle helmet, "I need air and to think. If I get a solid plan I'll let people know. I can't ward the school or make it disappear as that leads to new issues." she admits. Like witch hunts. "Phone will be on though." she states as she heads for the stairs.
