Synopsis: Jimmy and Gabby share a soda and apparently Logan's DNA
Cast of Characters: Jimmy Hudson, Gabby Kinney

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy is currently hanging out on one of the lounge chairs near the barbecue pit, which is fired up against the slight coming chill of evening. He's in simple jeans and a T-shirt, looking plenty relaxed as the weekend begins. He pokes at the fire a little, stirring it up and adding a few pieces of wood.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney had been out in the woods behind the manor for awhile. Since the sun was coming down now though, and the temperature dropping, she makes her way back with a little cheery whistle of some song that had been stuck in her head. Baby got back or something old like that. She's dressed casually enough, for her at least: A pair of black leggings, her boots, and a t-shirt with a bright neon pink laser eyed cat flying over a rainbow. Sometimes you just needed a punch of color to brighten up your day. As she approaches the smell of fire going has her path veer toward the porch out of curiosity, and soon there's a curious green eyed face peeking through the railing as she tries to skulk closer. Sneaky.

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy finishes playing with the fire and settles back into his chair. After a moment he says to himself "Gotta remember to bring a speaker out here, music would be good." He stops and tilts his head, then looks around the area Gabby is lurking in before grinning a little.

He raises his voice and says, "You don't have to hide over there, you're welcome to join me. Backyard's for everyone, unless you don't belong here." He waves in Gabby's general direction and indicates the other seats around the BBQ area.

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney stands up when spotted only to shrug. There's a few leafy sticks hanging out of her hair that she may have put there for camoflauge. If she were reeeally trying to sneak she would, but this was more for amusement and getting to see who this new face was. So she reaches up to pluck out a twig or two tossing it aside as she makes her way up the side of the railing rather than use the stairs like some normal person. It doesn't take long for her to clamber up and flip over onto her feet though. "Never hurts to stay in practice," she responds cheerily. She's not much to look at height-wise and probaly never will be thanks to her genetics. "I'm Gabby. I'm supposed to be here yeah, just was out on a walk in the woods," she explains with a thumb tossed over her shoulder. The warmth of the fire is approached. "Who're you?"

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
He chuckles when he gets a better look at her, "Nice camo there. Either that or you got too close to a couple trees during your walk. I'm Jimmy, I'm a new teacher here. Mostly PE, but I can sub in about anywhere, so you'll probably see me around." He gestures beside him, "Got a couple bottles of Coke here if you want one, was just planning on chilling out for a little."

He takes a sip from the open Coke beside him and sits back. "So Gabby, you spend a lot of time in the woods, or was this just a spur of the moment thing? I haven't really explored the grounds much yet."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney doesn't have to be asked twice! A Coke is snagged before she flops down into one of the lawnchairs with the ease and grace of a teen not afraid of getting hurt. Legs are pulled up beneath her to sit indian style comfortably. "Ah, nice to meet you then. Yeah I go into the woods a fair bit. More than I expected I would really. The lake is out that way too," she explains while cracking open the soda top elicting that tell-tale hiss of carbonation. "I set up a slingshot between some trees out there last Summer. Launches you right into the center of the lake. It's great. Just don't do it when the water is still cold," she advises with a grin.

More seriously she glances in that direction. "Usually do my morning run out there. More terrain, and less chance of getting kidnapped again. Plus I know some people that live out that way."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy grins and sits up,"Slingshot, huh? That sounds like fun, you're going to have to show me that one, bet it's a rush. Is it big enough for me, or it it just Gabby sized? No matter, I bet we could scale it up if needed. Might have to work on the aim, but that shouldn't be too hard to figure out." He seems rather taken with the whole idea.

At he later statement though, he pauses and raises an eyebrow, "Kidnapped _again_? Does it happen often to you, or was it just one time so far? You seem kinda chill about the whole thing, kidnapping tends up upset most people."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney glances at Jimmy sizing him up with a careful scrutiny one wouldn't expect of someone her age. She nods after a moment of careful consideration. Tipping the soda back for another chug only breifly. "Yeah should be big enough for you. I made it with most of the kids in mind, and I know I'm the smallest to begin with. It'll just not get you entirely to the center of the lake. Weight load accounts for the axis of the arch," she explains while drawing a finger through the air as if to demonstrate.

"Eh, it was only the once, and I wasn't alone. Besides, we got out. It's better I was one of the ones grabbed than someone else. I can handle it." Here she pauses to regard Jimmy with a grin again. "Sorry--I had a kind of unique upbringing."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy Hudson nods, "Well, yeah, basic physics there, you'll go further than I would with the same force behind us. Should still be fun though. Haven't done anything to get the old adrenaline going for a while now, I'm getting a little antsy."

He listens to her explanation of the kidnapping thing, then shrugs, "I'll take your word for it. Seems like a lot of the kids here have had some unique lives, really. I guess I got lucky or something, mine was pretty normal until about 6 months ago." He seems to consider for a moment, then adds, "Well, dunno if lucky is the word, I'm a little unprepared for the world I suddenly find myself in the middle of."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney watches Jimmy while listening quietly. It allows her to sip at her drink a bit more. "From another timeline?" It was just a guess, but it seemed that was one which happened a lot here. "We get that sometimes. We'll help you out. Everyone helps out here in some way, and you're right... There's a lot of unique histories with everyone here. Mine just fit well with the situation I was in. And... I'm not okay about it. I'm really not. I'm furious over it." A slow, deep breath is taken before she grins again. "But I'm not going to let my rage get the best of me. I'm free and get to enjoy my life. That's the best revenge, right?"

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy takes a drink of his Coke as well and shakes his head, "Nope, not another timeline, New Jersey. Just that I was living what you'd call a normal, everyday life as a teacher until a girl in the class I was covering kind of burst out in energy beams. Couple of your X-Men showed up to collect her and dragged me along to make sure I was ok. Plus, I didn't want her to get taken off by herself, she was scared enough as it was."

He looks over as she talks about her rage, "Well, I gotta say you seem to be keeping on top of it." He sniffs a little, "Though yeah, you do have kind of an edge to you, I guess. Then again, this could just be your normal, who am I to say?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney blinks a single time at mention of New Jersey. "Ooh. I've heard about Jersey," she reasons with a solemn nod before cracking a grin again. "Glad to hear you're okay then. And she is too I guess? It can be pretty scary for a lot of mutants when their abilities first manifest." She says nothing of her own experience with it. "You think I have an edge, you should meet the rest of my family. My da--Genetic donor, he's got a huge temper. My sisters, too."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
He nods, "Yeah, she's in classes here now, they've taught her to keep from blasting things by accident, so things are going well. As for me, well... I mean, she got me pretty good and dropped part of a wall on me, but I don't really stay hurt, so that was no big thing. I was fine by the time they got me out from under the debris." He takes another swig, "Kind of an angry family, huh?" He grins, "Have you considered family counseling or anything?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney sits forward with interest at the news of what happened. "Dropped a wall on you?" Another quick look over is given as her grin grows wider. "Ah! So... you're a mutant too, then? Either that or it was a really flimsy wall. I don't know what public school construction is like." Her grin just grows ever wider. "I heal, too. We all do in the family. Well other than one of my sisters, she didn't get the gene, she's just albino. Still mutant just not the same sort." A firm nod is given at this. She even stops herself from talking of the sisters that weren't around anymore. It just made everyone sad to hear. "I don't think there's a level of counseling invented yet that would help. PTSD counseling, maybe? We're trained killers. I mean, people wanted us to be, but I haven't and don't plan to be."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy Hudson nods, "Yeah, I am. Found out in my teens, was street racing and crashed bad, burned, the whole mess, and walked away from it. But I kept it quiet, and just lived my life until the school incident. Then I ended up here and found out a little more about myself. It's just weird to find out you've got stuff you never even knew about. But apparently I'm useful enough that they want me on the team, so now I'm a teacher here instead of in Weehawken."

He goes to take another drink, then stops and looks at Gabby, "Trained killers? That's um.. that's not a great thing. I'm glad to hear you're not though. Me either, which is why I'm not totally sure how well I'll do if they drag me along to a fight."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"It's... a long story," Gabby admits at his hesitation. All she can do is give a shrug and rueful smile when he looks her way. "There's some groups out there that wanted to use the traits of my genetic donor to make a super soldier or something. They stole his DNA and made clones." Here she pauses again, looking down to her soda can. "I'm a clone of that clone made by another organization. My 'batch' didn't turn out to have the mutant gene so they used us for experiments and trained us to do... Well. Lots of things. I was the youngest, and my older sisters kept me out of it, but when we realized I *did* have the mutant gene we worked out to escape." Here she shrugs. "So here I am." Straightening up again she offers as reassuring a grin as she can. "Don't worry though about this place. They might fight, but they don't advocate killing. And there's lots of people that can help train you to fight."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
He shakes his head, "That is all kinds of seriously messed up. Stealing DNA to make clones? That is just weird. See, this is the kind of thing I've never had to deal with before. But I'm glad you were able to get away, you seem too nice to be some kind of killer clone assassin or something."

"Yeah, been doing some training since Jean and Rogue tested me out and put me on the team. I'm just not quite sure how to go about avoiding the killing thing, my.. hell, I don't even know how to put it. My 'ability', I guess is the general term, other than healing tends to make holes in people."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"Oh totes messed up, but if it hadn't happened I wouldn't be here. Still want to punch those guys though," Gabby admits. As to the rest she grins. At least until he starts explaining his other ability. Her head tips to the side with a curious expression flitting over her face as a few thoughts start to roll around. "Could... could you show me?" Knowing he very well may not, being a teacher, she hastens to add, "I might be able to offer some suggestions. I've got more training under my belt than anyone else my age."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy shrugs, "Yeah, it's not real destructive or anything, just a little hard to use without hurting people pretty bad." He holds his hand up and forms a fist, then takes a breath and flexes his forearm. With a wince and a quiet curse, three familiar looking bone claws rip out of his skin from his knuckles. "That still hurts every damn time." he comments even as the skin heals around the base of the claws. "Got them for both hands. So how do I go about using these without hurting people too bad, you know?"

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney watches with rapt fascination as he makes that fist. No. No he wasn't. It wasn't. Was it? IT WAS. Both hands clap over her mouth as she starts to make a rather high pitched squeal one might expect from a girl her age when faced with a boy band. Without thinking she bounces up from her chair, knocking over the remnants of her Coke in the process, only to hop from foot to foot. "Omigodomigodohmigoooood! THIS IS SO GREAT!" I mean, she'd have to have a chat with Logan. But for now... "Jimmy! JIMMY! Do you know what this means!?" With one gleeful inhalation of air she unthinkingly throws herself at him with arms outstretched to hug him tight.

It doesn't last but for a second as she hops back again flapping her hands at her face trying to regain control of her hyperactive outburst. "Wait, you don't yet, but I do, so I should... You heal and you also..." She wasn't even making sense at this point. With a broad toothy grin she holds her own fist up. There's no wince or grimace from pain, but a single long bone claw thrusts out from the back of her fist demonstrating exactly why she was so excited.

"I've got a big brother!"

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy was definitely not expecting that reaction. Maybe interest, maybe being grossed out. Fangirl squealing was not even on the list of possibilities, so he's a touch stunned by that reaction. He blinks and starts to say, "Um, great? What does it.. oof" He does maintain the presence of mind to keep the claws up out of the way when Gabby pounces him.

When she pops her claw out, he looks at her for a minute, then grins back and says, "Well heck, I always wanted a little sister or brother, I was an only child." He flexes his arm again and the claws slide back in, the three tears in the skin healing almost immediately. "Well, this is a heck of a thing."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney throws her hands up fingers splayed wide. The claw pops back in in the process, and she declares, "This is awesome! I've only had sisters!" The gleeful energy simmers down just a tad as she laughs and lets herself relax again. "You'll have to meet Logan, and Laura, and... well she's not around right now anyway so that's fine but this is still cool!" It's about now she remembers she ought to breathe a bit more normally. "Can you also smell things really good? I can't yet but Laura and Logan can and anyway I guess you must be related somehow we can figure it out later I'm sure."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy Hudson says, "Jean mentioned I should probably meet Logan. She suggested I take a six pack with me. I just feel a little weird walking up to the guy and saying you know, 'Hey there, I'm your kid.' I mean, I'm not looking for a Dad or anything, mine adopted me and loves me, but I'd like to get to know him."

He nods, "All my senses, yeah. I heard you coming, got really good sight and smell and everything. And I met your sister yesterday, actually. She stopped by when a bunch of us were out here enjoying the sunny day Ororo wanted.""

Gabby Kinney has posed:
"That's probably a good way to do it honestly. He's straight to the point about most things." Gabby pauses considering with a very thoughtful look as she rubs at her chin. "A six pack and you probably won't have to say anything. He'd be able to tell with his nose. He's been at this longer than any of us. But just, like, introduce yourself. Maybe even mention that you're fine with your family as it is, but just wanted to meet him." A small shrug comes. "I could help if you want. Meet him I mean. Maybe if someone else was there it'd be a little less awkward. I'm used to being awkward."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
He takes a sip of his soda, "Well, not a bad thing getting to the point. I tend to be like that a lot of the time. No reason to use a hundred words when ten will do the job. I mean, I'm no hermit, but I don't give speeches either."

He nods, "Sure, can't hurt to have someone introduce me. You can be the official ambassador to Logan for me. And I don't know why you'd say that, you haven't been awkward tonight talking to me."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney grins faintly though she can only shrug. "I tend to talk a lot. That's kind of the problem sometimes with others. Plus my imagination can run away with me at times. Don't get me wrong, I can be serious as well. Just..." Here she pauses to tip her head up toward the sky blinking a single time. "I grew up in a lab. There's *so much* to see, to do, to experience. I'm gonna enjoy it all." With a glance back she adds, "Plus it was pretty awkward that I slipped and called Logan 'dad' once. He looked like he swallowed a frog. But I'll introduce you! No problem!"

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy laughs, "You're a teenage girl Gabby, talking a lot is part of the territory. So is imagination, so I'd say that part is one hundred percent normal.

He tilts his head as she talks about growing up in a lab, then nods, "Now that I can understand completely. You want to make up for lost time and live as much life as you can." He grins, "Dunno what kind of things you like, but maybe we can do some stuff. I'm kind of into speed and extreme sports and that kinda thing, anything that gets the adrenaline flowing."

He smirks a little, "Ok, now _that_ is actually awkward, I'll give you that one."

Gabby Kinney has posed:
Gabby Kinney spreads her hands in a helpless shrug. "It was a slip of the tongue. I know he's not *really* my dad. I don't have one. But he's the closest to one I'll ever have, so I can't help but think that in my head sometimes." Finishing the gesture she sweeps a hand back through her hair. It snags a leftover twig she forgot about so she quickly tugs it free too. "I'd like that. I'm up for trying things. I usually go on runs, or practice martial arts, or swim, or sometimes I go out with the other students to clubs. Sometimes I sneak down to Harry's and grab a burger or join in on a poker game. Though that was only one time," she admits. "Anyway. I'd like that. Hanging out I mean." Again she grins quite obviously okay with the idea of suddenly having extra family around. "I should probably get going for now though. I think I could use a shower."

Jimmy Hudson has posed:
Jimmy raises his soda bottle in a salute to his newly discovered little sis. "Well, now you've got more family, and as the big brother, I believe it's in my contract to take you to do things parents would hate. Nothing too nuts though, I am still a teacher at your school."

He chuckles a little, "Maybe I'll have you beat up your big brother now and then, I've never really done any real martial arts, just some basic fighting. Bet you could teach me a thing or two. But yeah, go do your shower thing, I'll be around lots to hang out with."
