A Night For Sushi
Date of Scene: 06 April 2021
Location: Sushi Yushu
Synopsis: Viola heads to Gotham for dinner at Gotham's premiere sushi restaurant with Harvey.
Cast of Characters: Harvey Dent, Viola Fiore

Harvey Dent has posed:
The elevator door dings open, and Harvey waits to give Viola time to step on out. He smiles and follows her out, smoothing his tie a bit. The matrie'd immediatly smiles. "Ah, Mr. Dent! So lovely to see you again! A table by the window, I assume?" Harvey grins and leans in to whisper to his date, "I...like sushi." He chuckles and nods, his hand lightly resting on Viola's lower back as he leads her along to the waiting table.

Viola Fiore has posed:
The young woman steps off the elevator. She's wearing a black skirt and a top that leaves her shoulders bare, bits of material circling her upper arms, and the neckline has a narrow V cutout of it. She smiles to Harvey as his hand moves to her back, letting him guide her forward.

Viola's eyes take in the upscale restaurant and she flashes a small smile to Harvey. "I guess so. Though I get a feeling a lot of people in this town recognize you," she comments to the district attorney who has been making headlines.

They arrive at the table, and she waits for Harvey to help her slide her chair in, then turns to smile at him again. "I'm glad you were able to make some time today. I might be busy for the next day or two. So this was a fortuitous night for me to make it down to Gotham," she says.

Harvey Dent has posed:
He chuckles softly and shrugs a shoulder. "I'm...guessing you haven't seen the local tabloids, then." They might have gotten a few shots of Harvey out and about with his 'mysterious new girlfriend'. A few questioned if she was an adopted daughter or something, instead. Chaos ensues. Parasites.

The slides her chair out and waits for her to sit before he joins her. "I'm glad, too. Been dealing with some...well, let's not get into the angst of my current cases." The handsome, older man chuckles a bit and picks up the menu.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola takes up her menu as well. "If you'd rather not talk about work," she agrees. "Though if you need to vent, I don't mind," she says, reaching across the table to rest her hand on Harvey's.

Her eyes roam down the menu as the music plays softly, just enough to be heard over the quiet din of conversation. A pair of men move past on their way to their table. One of them stopping for a moment. "Harvey, hope you're planning to show some grace in defeat on the links this weekend," he says. One of the city councilmen, a frequent at the same country club that Harvey frequents.

Harvey Dent has posed:
He opens his mouth to respond before the councilman arrivers. He gives her hand a squeeze and then glances up, chuckling. "The day you beat me in golf is the day I vote Republican," he says with a lopsided grin. "We're on, though. Lunch at the club, after?" He pauses then. "Oh, Chuck, this is my...this is my girlfriend, Viola. Viola, this is Charles Maine. He's the Councilman for the Cauldron." A rough, heavily irish neighborhood of Gotham.

Viola Fiore has posed:
The young Italian-American woman smiles up to the man. "Councilman Maine, very nice to meet you," she tells him. The councilman smiles back to her. "And you, Viola," he says. "Maybe you can be there to dry his tears after this weekend," he says, giving a teasing grin towards Harvey and patting the man's shoulder then as he continues on to his table.

Viola's gaze returns to Harvey, smiling at him across the table. "So now I know how you keep in such good shape," she tells him, glancing down at his chest with a playful grin. She looks back to her menu and asks, "Anything in particular that you'd recommend?"

Harvey Dent has posed:
The man chuckles softly, looking both mildly embarassed and also pleased. He clears his throat and looks across the table at her, again. "We can get the nigiri plate? Comes with their seasonal nigiri. Chef's choice. It's enough for the two of us without getting overly full." He brushes his fingers back through his dark hair, smiling warmly at the woman across from him.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola sets her menu down after hearing Harvey's suggestion. "That sound perfect," she tells him warmly. She rests her hands back on the table, waiting for the waiter to take their order, letting Harvey order for them, before turning back to conversation after.

"This is a whole another experience. Planning an event that the President will be at. Even though it is a private affair, dealing with the White House and security and everything. I just never imagined I'd be involved in something like this. Not that I'd planned this as a career, mind you," she comments to him.

The waiter returns with their bottle of wine for Harvey to approve, before pouring their glasses.

Harvey Dent has posed:
He approves of the bottle and then turns back towards Viola. The man furrows his brow a bit before he nods, smoothing down his tie a bit. "Hm. Well, it's way above my head, I'll tell you that. The White House rarely has anything to do with my city." The man laughs softly and then picks up his glass of wine.

"To exciting new opportunities," he offers, raising the glass to toast her. Then, Harvey takes a sip and sets the wine on the table.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola Fiore touches her glass to Harvey's and then sips it, giving an approving nod after she's had the taste of it. "I just hope I don't mess up. I haven't had too many poor outcomes. There was a child's birthday party once where they forgot to warn me that they'd adopted hellspawn in a child's body. Do you have any idea how tough those inflatable play houses are to puncture? Even if that's your intent?" she says with a grumbling sigh.

She grins though and takes another sip of wine. Her eyes study Harvey across the table. "I know what it's like for someone in the public eye like you are. Well, not first hand, but I can imagine. I'm fine staying under wraps if that is easier on you."

Harvey Dent has posed:
"Only an idiot would what to hide you," the man says easily enough. "I love being with you, and I'm not going to sneak around. Never been my style." He sips the wine again and flashes a smile to someone else he knows as they walk past. Harvey turns his full attention back to his date.

"You know, I have some vacation time coming up in awhile. Not yet, but eventually. I know of a beautiful cabin upstate. On a lake and everything. It's rentable. If you want."

The food arrives. A platter with a lot of delicious nigiri, which is the seafood choice on rice. He picks up his chopsticks and picks up some pickled ginger, downing it before he smears abit of wasabi on a piece of sushi and downing it.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola Fiore takes up her wine glass, smiling across the table at Harvey. "That sounds like it would be lovely. Things are starting to turn a little green again. Leaves are coming out, and flowers before long. I don't know it would be warm enough to swim yet, but a cabin on a lake still sounds wonderful," Viola tells the older man.

She turns to give the waiter a pleasing enough smile as he brings the food over. Viola picks up her chopsticks as well once the plates are settled, nibbling on one of the artfully crafted bits of Asian cuisine. "So you do find some time to relax. But I have to ask, do you ever have issues with the criminals here? Gotham has such a reputation for their underworld. Trying to intimidate you off a case, things like that?"

Harvey Dent has posed:
"There've been...a few attempts on my life since I got officer. And before, when I was a prosecuter. You don't really get used to it," he admits. He picks up his own chopsticks and works on the food as well. "I didn't really find time to relax," Harv says, offering her a small smile. "But you're proving to me that some downtime is good for you. Pretty sure my blood pressure is down significantly," he says teasingly.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola stirs her food with her chopsticks after hearing Harvey's answer. Perhaps the young woman finding the news a bit distressing. When she finally looks up though, she pushes a smile back to her face so she doesn't bring down the mood of the dinner.

"Well then," she tells him, giving Harvey that smile, "I'll have to make sure to keep making you find time to get away. And the cabin seems like a perfect place then. Let you get away from town and just get away from it all," she says.

Viola takes another bite of her sushi, taking her time with it to savor all of the wonderful flavors. "I'm so glad that we have the HyperLoop. Without it, well I wouldn't have ever made the trip down here for an event, not if I was driving. Wouldn't have met you. Wouldn't be able to come and visit so easily," she says.

Harvey Dent has posed:
"Science is amazing. Something I'm not really great at understanding," he says with a chuckle. "...But great. I'm glad. I'll need to come visit you sometime, though. If you want me to, of course." He glances aside to smile and wave at someone else of importance as they pass by, before turning his attention back to his lovely date.

"So, what should we do after dinner?," he asks, working idly on his delicious plate of food.

Viola Fiore has posed:
The young woman watches Harvey across the table, smiling as she watches him eat. Her own food isn't neglected as she makes her way through it gradually. "Well, it's your city. I'm open to your suggestions. Also whether you want to go out, or do something more quiet. You've probably have the worse week than I," she tells him.

Viola dunks her sushi in a sauce and eats it, then dabs at her lips with a napkin after finishing her plate off. She takes another sip of the wine, sighing contentedly at the flavor of it. "So, what do you think, counselor?" she asks him with a small grin.

Harvey Dent has posed:
He chuckles softly and considers. "Well, Spring always hits Gotham late, so it's still pretty chilly out. I just had the fireplace in my brownstone cleaned out." Harvey clears his throat and glances down into his wine, before he picks the glass up for a small sip.

"We could always head back there after for some more wine? Relax in front of the fire place."

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola's finger traces around the rim of her glass. "That sounds like a nice evening," she agrees. "It is a little chilly out tonight," she agrees. The young woman glances up as a pair of men in suits pass by, businessmen of some standing in the city. Each nod towards Harvey, waiting to look at the young woman with the DA until they are past.

The girl's eyes are back on the lawyer already though. "So I don't really know too much about you besides what I read up on from the guest list at the party. Which was mostly recent things. I don't think I know where you grew up, or what your parents do or anything like that," she says, making it a question at the end with an inflection in her tone.

Harvey Dent has posed:
He's quiet for a moment after the question is inferred rather then asked. He glances down into his wine again and clears his throat before he shrugs a shoulder. "Local. I grew up in town. You wouldn't know the neighborhood since you're not from here but...it isn't a good one, even for Gotham back then, which was way worse then now. Dad was the opposite of everything I strive to be. Mom was...well, not great, but not my dad, either." He offers a small, lopsided smile as he glances back across the table.

Viola Fiore has posed:
Viola Fiore listens to Harvey, the man receiving all of the young woman's focus. Her head tilts just slightly as she listens. "I would have thought maybe you came from, well, from people that eat at places like this," she comments. Though her small smile or approval grew as she listened.

"So it sounds like you are someone that came a very long way. That takes something. Talent. Or tenacity. Or both," the Italian-American young woman says. Viola brushes back a few strands of dark hair that tickle at her cheek, tucking them back behind her ear.

"Your father," Viola says quietly. "Did he have something to do then with the path that you chose for yourself? Wanting to go a different direction?" she asks him, dark brown eyes studying him.

Harvey Dent has posed:
Subconciously, as his father is discussed, Harvey reaches into his coat and withdraws a coin. A large, dollar coin. Close examination will show it has two faces. The man nods as he rolls it across his fingers and back again like a nervous tic. "He has everything to do with why I do what I do, Vi." He clars his throat and then flashes a small smile. "But enough buttering me up. I'm -already- paying for dinner," he teases.

Viola Fiore has posed:
The young woman's eyes catch the glint of the coin, and if she notices the possibly compulsive nature of how it is manipulated about, she doesn't pay it any more visible attention. "Not buttering you up," she tells him with a brighter, warmer smile than the last. "Just... it means something, I think. Making a choice that takes one in a different direction than their parents," she says.

Viola picks up her wine glass and sips the last of it, then sets it down. "But, I think you promised me a fire," she tells him. "And the waiter is probably waiting for the table to free up. Shall we?"

Harvey Dent has posed:
"Let's go," he says with a small chuckle. He finishes his glass and rises to his feet, pausing to adjust his tie. He steps around the table to pull out his date's chair before he sets his card down to pay for the meal. A few moments later it returns, and he signs a tip.

From there it is a short trip to the elevator, and then do the taxi he calls to get them back to his brownstone.
