Home Early
Date of Scene: 01 April 2021
Location: Angelo's Carriage House
Synopsis: Coming home early was the best choice Sara ever made, Angelo likely agrees whole heartedly.
Cast of Characters: Sara Pezzini, Achilles

Sara Pezzini has posed:
The hour was last, but Sara's return was earlier than expected. Having taken the Hyperloop back from Gotham after the fund raiser gala ended early for her, she rode her motorcycle back to the house. By that time it was nearing one in the morning when she unlocked the door and stepped inside. She was trying to be quiet, in case Angelo was still asleep, and didn't bother to turn on any lights.

Achilles has posed:
It was late, and Angelo is something of a morning person. Today, he was up early. The fact that he can't die does not mean he can't go to flab. So he is up early, doing a workout. Simple calisthenics like push ups and the like. The coffee-maker is gurgling as it brews a pot for him to enjoy afterwards. But either way, he's in thin yoga pants and no shirt... doing pull ups on a bar he has permanently installed off to one side when the door opens. He doesn't seem to notice the door opening as he is focused on his routine. Back flexing as he lifts his two hundred plus pounds up with his knees bent.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara seems almost relieved that Angelo is still awake, or awake again, which ever it is, mostly because that means she didn't wake him coming in so late. Setting her bag down out of the way, she pauses there by the door, shutting and locking it, to watch him for a moment.

There was something to be said for the sheer beauty of a muscular man, the way the muscles moved when in use. Normally she would have just admired and announced herself, since her entrance seemed to go unnoticed, but there was this nagging little something in the back of her head that made her grin as she was watching him. So she stood there for a bit of time, just watching.

Pulling herself out of that state of staring, she offered a some what cheerful, "Too early in the morning Angelo." Like someone would just say morning, but iwth extra words.

Achilles has posed:
"Never. An early start lets me get more done in a day." he replies after hesitating for just a moment. Her words caught him off guard only in the way that he didn't expect -anyone-. But the sound of her voice reassures him that it is safe and not a home invasion.
He does two more reps, and then puts his feet down and stands to turn around.
"You are either home early, or this is some way to avoid an awkward.... morning after."
That said, he turns and heads for the kitchen, "I am guessing that either way, you would not say no to a cup of Turkish, eh?" he asks.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Already following him to the kitchen because she could smell the coffee, Sara chuckles. "I never say no to Turkish."

Despite being home early, she seems to be in a good mood. "Home early," she then offers, leaning against the counter. "Night didn't go exactly as planned, but honestly I think it turned out better than expected."

Achilles has posed:
"Just because it did not go the way -you- had initially planned, doesn't mean it didn't go as planned. Does it?" asks Angelo as he pours a cup before handing it over. For himself, he steps over to pull a pre-made smoothie he had waiting. For him, after a workout he needs hydration and fruit. Coffee later.
"SO, do you want to talk about the gala or the date?" he asks as he lifts his cup and takes a gulp.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Taking the cup, she adds just a hint of cream before stirring and taking a sip. "Oh yeah, I love this coffee," she murmurs, then makes her way over to the couch to sit down.

"Oh no, it didn't go as anyone planned Angelo." She starts with a chuckle. "You don't spend a day shopping for a dress and matching shoes, get all dressed up and go to a gala, just to break up and send the guy your dating after the woman who has been madly in love with him for god only know how long, and that he loved as well. No... that's not a planned thing." She smiles brightly at him, not at all heart broken it seems.

Achilles has posed:
"Oh I don't know. I could see that as some squirrely spy type of plan that would be perfect for a SHIELD recruit." says Angelo before he takes another gulp and moves to sit down on the sofa beside her.
"What's this about some other woman?" she asks. "I mean... I'm sorry if things did not go well for you." Yes, he said that with a straight face. There are -obviously- mixed emotions behind those green eyes.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara turns a little on the couch to look at him, that same smile still there, a genuine smile. "Stephanie Brown. A college student and friend to the Wayne family." She explains, then folds her leg up under herself. She didn't miss the emotion in his eyes, but she still doesn't quite get why it's there.

"I met her at the Police Convention in Gotham, very shortly after meeting Dick. I saw something in her eyes, the way she moved around him, thought nothing of it, but you know my skills of observation. Then at his birthday part, oh man it was like she was quietly screaming at him to notice her.

Taking a drink of her coffee, she sighs, "He didn't, but I did. So I kicked it up a notch to test and yeah, she had it hard for the guy. Loved him. It took a couple more run ins with him and her for me to see it in his eyes, but his was more a case of still seeing her as the kid she was when they first met. At the gala, I watched them dancing together. I'd gotten something in my eye and when I came back, they were dancing. It just hit me... they were meant to be together Angelo, plain as the nose on my face. So I may have smacked him upside the head with some logic and sent him off after her."

Achilles has posed:
"See? You had a plan. Even if you didn't know that it was your plan all along, you reflexively planned it. Either way, you did the right thing." says Angelo.
But he shakes his head at her comment about how perceptive she is. Amazing how she can miss some simple things. Can't see the forest for the trees I guess.
Either way, he finishes his own drink and says, "Well, if you want, I could likely find you another excuse to wear that dress sometime. Just a thought." he offers with a grin.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
A brow lifts to Sara's hairline, "You ready to tell me what you haven't been telling me, or are you doing to look for another excuse or distraction to avoid it?" She takes a drink of her coffee after saying this, as the last two times she made a similar comment, he's done just that.

"You seem to think I don't notice your eyes, or the way you hover, or the fact that you tense. How about deliberately destroying a happy moment with a sarcastic, snarky comment? I may not remember something, but I know that something has to do with you. That by right means it's up to you when you tell me what I have forgotten, but you don't get to act like I haven't seen it.

Achilles has posed:
Sighing, Angelo shakes his head, "I have obviously been holding back. But it is because this is something that one should never be -told-. It is something they should either recall for themselves or learn again. If you really want me to tell you about it, then I will. But... I caution you... I do not think that it will help unless and until -you- recover the memory yourself."
Angelo has gone dead serious. No deflecting, no avoiding it.

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara sets the coffee cup on the table, then reaches over and picks up one of his hands to hold in both of hers. "If we can figure out what is making Witchblade hold the memories away from me, then I'll remember, until then there will be no just remembering. If you honestly think it is best not to tell me, I respect that, I know you wouldn't do anything to deliberately hurt me. I just wanted you to understand that I see it, I know it's there, whatever it is that is effecting you... I'm not blind to it. I wish I could just remember, but I can't."

Achilles has posed:
"I know that I am not -hiding- things. I am just determined not to try to explain something to you that you may or not -want- to hear." says Angelo. His hand turns and his fingers curl about hers. "I bet that the detective in you could figure it out without me -needing- to tell you. Look around..."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Sara doesn't have to look around, in fact she can look at his eyes and knows. It was there the minute she came home safe. It's been there every day since she came back. It created the monster that tried to destroy a happy moment, and with good reason to do so.

"Let me tell you the other reason I steered Dick to Stephanie," she starts, stroking the back of his hand lightly. "It never felt right to be dating him in the first place. There has been this... nag at the back of my mind, that is was wrong, that I didn't belong with him. Add to that nag that every time I see you, there's this... pang." She shakes her head, then looks down at his hand.

"We were in love," she finally says bluntly. "I don't remember it, but I know it was there. I see it in your eyes, I know it's in my chest and my soul. I may not remember it, but I want to, and I promise you that I will not do anything else, ever, to hurt you or that until I /do/ remember."

Achilles has posed:
Smiling with just a tiny bit of sadness, Angelo shakes his head, "You have yet to do anything to hurt me." A pause, "Well, aside from our sparring matches... but emotionally no." He lifts his free hand and gently runs fingertips along her cheekbone, down to her jawline. He smiles and shrugs, "A long time ago, I learned that caring about someone means wanting them to be happy. Even if it means I am not happy. So, how could I just tell someone that they loved me when they had no memory of that? It would sound like some manipulative shite."

Sara Pezzini has posed:
Her eyes lift to look at his face, at his eyes once again. A sad smile touches her lips as she says, "I would have thought you were insane. It probably would have created far worse problems, and may have even driven me out the door. You were right to hold it back, doesn't mean I like it, but I understand it."

She scoots herself a little closer, keeping her hand in his before leaning her head against his shoulder. "There are two ways to look at this. One is the easy way, that we'll figure out how to get the memories back and things will go back to normal. Two is the more difficult track, that I will fall in love with you all over again and it won't matter that the memories are gone. Either way, I'm not going anywhere. I belong with you, that much I /know/, even if I can't remember it."
