BEHOLD! MY STUFF!
Date of Scene: 17 March 2020
Location: 3B - Alexander's Greenwich Loft
Synopsis: Diana shows up to hassle Alex and he has to put up with her nosing around and being a butt. But he's super nice to her and gives her some water.
Cast of Characters: Diana Prince, Alexander Aaron

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana got a text from Alexander that he got setup in Greenwich Village. She'd summarily gotten the address and the very next day had gone to pick up a house warming gift and headed over to give it to her nephew.

Diana's silver sports car parks outside of the apartment and she takes a moment to look up to it from behind large designer sunglasses. As she proceeds toward it she's stopped by a mother and her two daughters who instantly recognize her and thusly... about 10 minutes are lost outside speaking to the three of them.

When all is said and done though, the Princess heads on inside after taking photos and signing some school notebooks - as well as being let in the front door by two middle aged men who were standing outside of it just watching her once they realized who she was too.

At Alexander's door, Diana removes her sunglasses and presses on the ringer.

Alexander Aaron has posed:
From outside it matches the approximately dozen other buildings that look just like it. Three story brownstones, all with their tiny illusions of a front yard in the fore, what with their wrought iron fences resting upon little brick walls leading to the stairs upward and to those windowed doors. Inside she's seen its like before as well, with the bank of mailboxes, the stairs that lead up, with an apartment on either side. 3B was the number she knew of, and it didn't take her long to make that ascent, to the hallway that leads one way and the other. A glance, perhaps a check at the address and indeed it was there.
The other apartments had little 'welcome' mats in front of them, but not 3B. Perhaps a statement. But from what she knew of Alexander likely more just laziness.
The doorbell rings under her touch and she'll hear an abrupt /thump/ inside that apartment. Then a shuffle-shuffle-shuffle, followed by footsteps that approach the door. "Hold on, m'coming!"
There's a click-ka-click, then the door opens. No chain holding it mostly shut. Just out and out opens.
"Oh hey. Aunt Diana." His lips broaden into a smile and he pulls the door open, stepping forward to give her a hug.

Diana Prince has posed:
When Alexander opens the door he finds the tall dark haired woman outside with a smile on her red hued lips. Her dark brown hair is tied back in a ponytail and she's wearing a black leather jacket over a loose-fit shirt and black slacks cinched by a small black belt with a silver buckle. On her feet she wears wedge heeled shoes that lift her up over six feet by a couple inches.

"I have come to invade your new sovereign territory." Diana says to the young man, following it up with a grin as she raises up a package that is wrapped in silver with a dark red bow around it. "And to give you a gift!" She shakes the package around gently and adds a loud-whisper "Yaaaay!" because she's excited and kind of a dork when she's happy.

Her eyes lift up then to look past him into his house. "Ooooooh." She's fawning already. "It looks so lovely."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
As for Alex, however, he's wearing just grey sweat shorts and a t-shirt that depicts what looks like a ninja kitten with sword drawn, but nothing else as he steps back and sweeps an arm to indicate the place, "Oh yeah, heeeeey." He says with a grin and then there's a quick look towards the inside as he murmurs, "I haven't had a chance to clean much..." Though his dad has engaged a maid service once a week. It sort of shows. But what could he be worried about?
Since in truth the place looks immaculate from here with its oh so austere design and decor. But he accepts the gift and laughs a little at her most profound dorkiness, giving her a nod. "Come on in, I'll show you around." And that said he'll walk down that hall from the foyer as he gestures. "Here's the living room." Almost completely devoid of decor, though the pizza boxes on the coffee table is pretty trendy. "The kitchen," He points at the kitchen, "The laundry," He points at a closety looking area. "Down there is the bed room, workout room, and bathroom." Another point.
Then he grins, "Yay we're done." Ok he's a dork too.
Then his eyebrows widen as he darts forward and grabs something off the kitchen counter and stuffs it in his pocket. Then acts like nothing happened.

Diana Prince has posed:
After accepting that wonderful hug in the threshold of the apartment loft, Diana strides there- in to said apartment and she starts to let her eyes wander while he starts his little tour leading her through that initial small hall.

"Workout room, huh?" She asks with a sly grin. "This is great. Far better than most people your age get as their first Manhattan living space. Many are the size of a shoe box!" She glances back to him and steps over to the counter that he grabs something hastily off of - she doesn't comment on that - and instead she sets the package down upon it's corner.

"Well then, it seems as though you are setup quite nicely. Have you started to explore the neighborhood?" She asks, her hands coming together one over the other in front of her lap then. "Greenwich is one of my favorite Manhattan Neighborhoods. There is always something to do, and Washington Square Park is a fantastic place to rest and study for your classes." She looks around again and starts to move around the counter, her feet carrying her slowly as she looks this way and that inspecting everything like a snooping aunt should!

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Defensively, but teasingly so he answers her with an incredulous grin, "Yeees. Workout room? You got a problem with that?" And he crinkles his nose as he walks around, gesturing grandly, "Check out the laundry machines." He points in that direction, though he does espy the gift box but doesn't open it right now, perhaps hoping to put that off for a second as he...
"One sec, I need to check... some things." He says, lying oh so well. And if he should succeed in distracting her with looking at his laundry machines...
He quickly runs down the hall and starts picking up things that need picking up. Like all of the clothes in his room, the various take out boxes of food, amongst other things. So much of it goes in the trash which suddenly becomes entirely overstuffed and he just... leaves it there.
Then he goes into the Workout room to make a check there, and emerges with a t-shirt that is... entirely too small from him with a little UWL logo on it that he holds until he emerges into the hallway and sees Diana. Then quickly hides the shirt behind his back.
    "Sooo. What do you think?"

Diana Prince has posed:
While Alexander rushes around and checks things out, fixes things, stows things or hides things, Diana continues to walk through the kitchen and back toward the living room where she ends up by one of the windows in said living room.

By the time he comes back and asks that question she is facing the window, but she turns sideways to look back at him and she grins. "It is wonderful, Alexander." She says in that thickly accented English. "I think you will love this place. You will likely move on from it some day and look back on it with very fond memories. That... seems to be the case with these such steps in our lives."

She turns to face him fully and steps toward him, though she does glance down to the pizza on the coffee table and it brings a grin to her lips. "I remember my first apartment in London. It was... two stories, but half the floor space of this." She glances upward for a moment. "It had a spiral staircase that lead up to a second story viewing area and where my bedroom was, overlooking the main floor."

She glances back down to Alex then. "A lot of fond memories. As you'll no doubt form here."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
Alexander's so eerie eyes meet hers and his smile reaches them as she tells him about her memories, and the ones he's likely to take away with him from this place. It lets him look at the place anew, and for a moment she can likely see his thoughts shift introspective. One eyebrow lifts as if giving her words some weight, then he nods as he murmurs, "You know. You're probably right."
He steps back and walks down the hall, smiling a little at the little t-shirt he has in his hand and tosses it into the washer, though leaves the machine unengaged for now. He closes the sliding doors and then turns back to look at her. "I think..." Another look around the living room and he smiles, "I sort of was dragging my feet in accepting this place because I haven't really earned it right?"
A hand rests on the doorjam of that hallway's arch, lightly flicking at an errant piece of paint with his thumb. "Since my dad is paying for it and I suppose I mildly resent that. But it's not like I'm gonna go out and get a /job/ right?" His lip twists as he looks at her. As if serious or perhaps more he's making fun of himself.
"But it's still my first place. And yah, memories."

Diana Prince has posed:
While he tends to his laundry, Diana moves to peer inside the workout room at what he has setup in there. She observes it all from the doorway and then turns back toward him as he finishes up with the laundry and seals the machines off. She has a vague grin shown before she walks back toward the living area. "You have earned it as much as anyone, Alexander." She says then to him before she turns again to face him and places her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket.

"I would suggest, or recommend, that you get a pet. A dog or a cat. Maybe a fish tank." There's a hint of a grin o the Princess' red lips. "They will help you develop another skill set. Caring for something other than yourself. Also a very important step to take, Alexander."

The dark haired Themysciran then turns to walk once more back toward the kitchen. "Do you have everything you need as far as appliances and dish ware go?" She asks him, pausing near the sink to glance back at him. "I did not want to bring anything over that you might already have. But if you get a list of things you need, the Embassy has lots in storage. I would be happy to have some sent right over."

Alexander Aaron has posed:
In that workout room he doesn't have anything that too terribly interesting. An MMA dummy, some mats, some wooden practice blades on the wall. Nothing too elaborate or too expensive. Though there are decidedly no decorations about the apartment, none showing that the person who lives there actually /likes/ anything. Though if she glimpses into his bedroom she'd maybe see a small shrine with a wakizashi upon it. But beyond that...
"A pet? I dunnooo. That requires, like, you know. Effort." His lip twitches with a smile though he does continue into the room after her, "And I sorta care for things. I'm dating, did I mention that before?" He can't recall if he did, his eyes distancing as he turns to the side, scritching his chin with a fingertip.
But then she speaks to him of practical things and he looks back, "Umm, I think so." Then his eyes light up, "Oh hey, sorry. Would you like something to drink?" He darts into the kitchen after her, pulling open the fridge and starting to poke around. "I have...beer. Water. Some orange drink." Yum orange drink.

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana does notice the sparse decorations, but she also notices the sword display in his bedroom and the fact that his workout room could use a bit more equipment - all noted away in her 'Gifts for Nephew' section of her aunty headspace.

Back in the kitchen though, she leans against the counter on her right hip and places her right hand against it gently as she rests there. "Water would be fine. Though I do not wish to linger long and keep you from your day." She smiles at him. "Dating, you say? Well then, that is very nice to hear. You are likely going to have many ups and down theres, but the ups... will sure far out weigh said downs." A hint of a grin accompanies her words. "Let us hope, at least. But yes, with all of that on your plate, maybe a pet is not such a grand idea right now."

"And you should absolutely try to find at least a part time job, Alexander. They can help you sort your mind and thoughts." She has to be the good and responsible adult here doesn't she? Even though she herself never held an 'average' job as it were!

Alexander Aaron has posed:
"Well, I mean," Alexander tilts his head sidelong towards Diana as he leans there, arms folded over his chest. "I haven't exactly like, not been dating before." He looks to the side, then back, "More I'm sort of dating someone steadily? I guess? Going steady? Is that still a thing? We're exclusive I guess?" But then he's digging back into the fridge and pops out the bottle of water, twisting off the cap to be oh so nice and then hands it to her with a smile, "So there's that."
Social obligations completed, he shakes his head, "You don't have to run off. Technically it's Spring Break and all so my normal schedule is pretty bare."
Then he looks over at the options he has for entertaining and smiles a little, "Though I'm not exactly equipped well for company at the moment."
Grinning back at her he turns, "We can go grab something at the coffee shop though if you want. If you'll gimme ten minutes to get ready. Ok?"

Diana Prince has posed:
Diana is leaning down over the counter then on her elbows and holding her hands together palms flat and fingers interlaced. She's grinning at Alexander as she watches him produce a water bottle. When the cap is twisted off she reaches out for it and accepts it with a soft "Thank you."

She draws it back over toward her and takes the cap off then. "You will have to bring her to the Embassy some night for dinner. Cassie is back now, as well, perhaps she could attend also. She would be happy to see you and meet your new friend."

A drink is taken from the water bottle and the cap is placed back on top of it. She offers him another grin and a nod. "I would be happy to do that. The weather is nice outside today, though they say it will rain later tonight. So yes, go get ready, I shall be right here enjoying my..." She glances down at it. "New York Tap. Bottled tap water. I love this city."
