Two Paths Cross
Date of Scene: 02 April 2021
Location: Orchid Bay Boardwalk
Synopsis: Ollie and Morrigan meet and get to know one another.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Oliver Queen

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's been stuck in another dimension with Hellboy recently, so staying at home wasn't really on her list of things to do. Starling City was on her list of places to visit while the school was on Spring Break (and SHIELD was on the run). She'd finished her business in the city and decided that getting a coffee and taking some time to enjoy the early evening was in order. The redhead is dressed for business though in a hunter green pencil skirt, black shirt and heels. A light charcoal grey jacket is keeping the slight chill at bay as she wanders towards the more touristy areas of the Boardwalk.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Ollie is not dressed for business. He also had a meeting, though, and he's just finished it. He steps out of the doors of a local boardwalk theater and adjusts his beanie a bit. He had some discussions in regards to helping keep the business afloat. His moustache and goatee don't look out of place with the rest of his outfit, as the man looks like an esteemed member of the hipster subculture. Dark jeans and a matching, lined shirt under a somewhat battered leather jacket, with an orangeish brown beanie. It looks good on his firm body, even at his age.

A few folks recognize him in passing, but nobody really bothers him at the moment, thankfully. He stretches and glances up and down the boardwalk, considering what to do with his evening before...his other job starts.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan finishes off her cup of coffee that she had procured from Starling City Coffee. It was a nice pick me up at least. The woman takes a moment to look around and then finishes her walk towards the carousel. She moves to take her sunglasses off and slip them into her pocket before look at the attraction with a whimsical look. She was probably too old to go onto that by herself and she didn't have any of the teens with her as an excuse. She gives a little chuckle and a headshake before she seems to accept that she'd be the weirdo out here if she bought a ticket.

She does see someone coming out of the theater, but her stomping grounds are New York so Starling is a bit newer to her news wise. Though she doesn't really shy away from people watching as she stands there.

Oliver Queen has posed:
He comes to a decision. The man makes his way over and steps up beside Morrigan, glancing between her and the ride. He grins softly and gestures at it. "I used to ride this every Summer as a kid. As often as I could. I loved this Boardwalk." It isn't really decrepit, but it's more rundown then it once was, for sure. A lot of closed businesses, forgotten posters on the walls.

He sighs softly and then flashes her another grin. "I know that look."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a double take when Oliver steps up beside her and there's a curious look that is given to the man. Though she smiles as he talks, "I've only visited Starling a few times and never gotten this far." she admits to that. "The coffee over there is good though." she nods back to the shop she'd visited.

Then there's a chuckle, "Oh you know the look of longing of wanting to go on something but you're afraid that you'll get looked at funny?" she asks him with a bit of a grin. "Well...I'm not getting any younger." she shrugs to that. "Would you like to go as well?" she asks him.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"People already think I'm an eccentric billionaire, so..." He shruygs and grins, before he casually offers the crook of his arm in a purposefully over-the-top way. "...Why not add to it, hmm? Besides anyone who thinks you get too old for simple pleasures is someone whos opinion means jack all to me, anyways." If she takes his arm he leads her towards the carousel.

He fishes out a few bucks to pay for the tickets, and then slips a few more dollars in a donation box (Which kind of shows how things are, here). "Pick us a spot?" He still hasn't said his name, but seems in no rush.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I mean, when you've got a billion dollars you're allowed to be a little eccentric." The Irishwoman tells him. "Just a smidge." she adds with a chuckle. When he offers his arm there is a bit of a moment where she thinks on it, but in the end she tucks her hand into his arm and lets him lead. "Honestly some of us just need to take the time for simple things or we go a little mad." she admits.

She also puts a donation in the box as Morrigan's not a stranger when it comes to having too much money. The redhead gives a look to him and then to the seats, "Well lets see..." she murmurs as she looks over things. "How about there?" she points to one of the two seater benches with gilding and carvings. "That looks like a good spot." she smiles to that.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"That's something I'm learning," he confesses. "I was all business, all the time for...well, for awhile. I've been trying to be better about it." He nods as he looks to the bench. "-Excellent- choice." Ollie grins and leads her over before letting go of her to slide down into the seat.

While others board the carousel he glances aside at the woman. "So, reason for visiting our fair city?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look over to him as he speaks and there is a bit of an understanding look, "I actually know what you mean by business all the time. Sadly that'll put you into an early grave if something else doesn't." she points out gently. She gives a smile as she smoothes her skirt and slides into the booth like seating, "Thank you for doing this. I was going to feel silly on my own." she tells him.

"Someone wanted to do an interview about a project I work on so I came over. Figured with the last few weeks it would be nice to see a few new things, maybe meet some new faces." she smiles to that. "And I take it you are a local?" she asks him.

Oliver Queen has posed:
He idly touches the still healing bullet wound in his side from a month or so back, and he nods a bit. Early grave. "Hey, you can pay me back with dinner? I mean...not -paying- for dinner, but I don't have to do anything for a few hours, yet...and all of my friends are busy..."

The handsome man flashes her smile and then he nods as he listens. "I am. Born and raised. Prodigal son of Starling city...according to some scathing headlines." Ollie offers her a lopsided grin. "I don't want to say I'm the Bruce Wayne of Starling City. I'd rather say Bruce Wayne is the Ollie of Gotham." He winks.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look over to him as the carousel starts, "I'm going to be in town for a few days, so I guess going to dinner won't hurt. Having dinner in a hotel lobby or room can get pretty depressing as it is." she explains.

There's a dawning realization of who she is sitting next to though, "Oliver Queen?" she asks. "I mean billionaire playboy sorta fits Bruce Wayne. Or well, that's the rumor." she shrugs. "I mean, you were in the news for a bit. I at least remember that much." she admits.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Ollie, yeah. Oliver Queen." There's no braggadocio in the introduction (Even though he probably has ever right for there to be some). He relaxes in his seat as the ride starts. "Probably when I got back some years ago, right? Yeah. National news before the 24 hour news cycle moved onto its next sound bite." He adjusts his beanie and chuckles a bit, turning his attention to the woman at his side. "So, I'm Ollie, and you are...?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan doesn't become starstruck or anything, she seems to be a level headed woman. That and she works with Avengers so she's used to meeting famous people. "Yeah, it was kind of the talk of the tri-state area and other places." she nods to that. Then there's a bit of an embarrassed look, "Oh, I'm Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre. It's nice to meet you Mister Queen." she offers as the look fades into a warm smile.

"Where is your favorite place to eat here in Starling?" she asks him.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Come on, Ollie." He glances off to enjoy the ride for a moment as the boardwalk sloooooowly spins around them. "Well, it's great to meet you, Morrigan." The man glances back towards her and he offers a grin. "Now, I -want- to say that my favorite is some Michelin star, fancy place. But it isn't. I'm going to have to say Thrasher's. It's a french fry place just up the beach," he explains. "They do these fries sprinkled with apple cider vinegar that is....so good."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Alright then, Ollie." Morrigan gives a smile to that. She settles back and listens to where his favorite place is and there is a nod to him, "Hey, hole in the wall food and little places can be just as good." she tells him. "And french fries sound like a delightful way to end a Friday night." she grins at that. "And is there anything that I must see before I head back to New York in a few days?" she asks him.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"I can think of some things. Hell, I can even be your your guide while you're in town." He pauses. "If you want that. No pressure." The ride starts to slow and he glances over at her again, grinning.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile at the offer, "Well, I'd hate to keep you from work and things, but if you are sure of some places you'd like to show off I'd be happy to have a tour guide. I have a tendency to wander into places that I'm either really great in or really awful in and I'm not really wanting to wander into any situations that'll get me grumpy looks when I get back home." she muses.

Then she's noticing that the ride is coming to a stop and there's a look over to him, "So off to grab fries before you have to head off for plans?" she asks him.

Oliver Queen has posed:
Plans. AKA shooting arrows at bad guys. He grins and nods, rising to his feet. He knows she can stand on her own, but the man still offers his hand to help her to her feet if she wants it. "My sister told me about this art exhibit in town. Sounds like it could be fun to hit tomorrow, along with some other stuff. If you like that kind of thing."

The man heads off of the ride and glances over as someone snaps a photo of the two, and then moves into the crowd. "Ah." Ollie glances at her and offers a lopsided grin. "Parasites. Sorry."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan takes the offered hand and rises to her feet as he speaks. "I like art galleries. I'd be happy to wander around one to be honest." she smiles to that. "Do you just have your sister or do you have other siblings?" she asks him as she steps off the ride after him.

The sound of a camera going off though draws her violet gaze, completely unaware of the paparattzi. She did show up in photos thank goodness. "Oh it's alright." she smiles to him. It wasn't like she was going to be front page news or anything. "I apologize if I ask a lot of questions by the way." she offers as they head off towards the food place he suggested.

Oliver Queen has posed:
"Just my little sister, Thea. She's...well, she's a complicated kid." -He- might be local news, though...and she will get looped right into it. "Eh, you're fine," he says. "Ask away." He turns and begins to lead the way dowen the boardwalk. It's an easy, relaxed pace. Not a hurried bone in his body right now.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a soft smile when he says that his sister is complicated, "Well, complicated is something that young people grow out of with time." she admits. "I'm an only child, but I run a school, so complicated kids is something I'm sorta trained in." she muses to that as she thinks about the teens at the school. She doesn't seem in a rush either. "Maybe I'll have to bring the school over for a field trip sometime." she nods to this.

Oliver Queen has posed:
School? He'll have to ask about that sometime, but for now he's distracted by the delicious smell of Thrasher's. There's a line out the door, so he leads the way to it.

The 'date', if you want to call it that, is a pleasant one. Small talk over delicious fries sprinkled with apple cider vinegar, before he walks her to either her vehicle or hotel, depending. It's nice.
