Happy Harbor: Meeting A Druid
Date of Scene: 04 April 2021
Location: Administrative Hall - Happy Harbor High School
Synopsis: Morrigan is introduced to Anthony Druid by Hank. Things go well!
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Hank Pym, Anthony Druid

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's week has been filled with fun. If by fun you count being locked in another dimension with Hellboy. But they are out now. And she's still mad at the Big Red Dude. There was also the small side trip to Starling but she's not said much about that. The redhead has been hidden away in her office for the last few hours though and seems to be going through files and things. School's on extended break so it's probably weird, but Mo's really not got anything else to do these days. So she works and dreads things. Like all directors seem to do.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym understands about such fun. In fact a good deal of his superhero activities consisted of research and analysis ahead of time, as well as prep for encountering a bad guy. Some honor bound people might consider this conniving. However, it was way easier to prep before you were in a punch out or death trap. The ants performed better as well. Having showed up to install a glass case for some memorabilia, he then decided to hit the administration wing. hank walked the silent corridors and remarked on what an old professor confided in him once: this job would be a breeze without the kids. Hearing some activity in the administration center he looked in, his ant at his side in his yellow vest. Bo regarded him sourly as Hank clipped the leash to his collar. "I know you hate it but a deal is a deal. We can't have you turning over cars and going all 50's monster movie on people."

Bo nods sighing a little.

"Hello? Anyone here? Dr. MacIntyre?"

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid spots Hank at a distance and calls out to him and his insect friend, "Hail and well met, as the mighty Thor might say. Good to see you out and about, Hank," he says, looking towards the administrative building, "I have heard about this place. Are you associated with this institute of learning, good man?" he asks, finding himself joining in stride and heading inwards. His mystic senses extend outwards, hands clasped at the smasll of his back. He wears a simple and well-tailored suit, rarely seen in public without proper formalwear. Sometimes he even wears his cape, but that seemed a little much for a simple spring day.

As he walks by, some of the decorative plants sprout to life, uncurling a bit, the druid's magic trailing behind him and inspiring growth...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's head swivel's when she hears someone call her name and there's a bit of a chuckle, "Hank, it's Sunday, what are you doing in?" she calls as she opens the door to her office and waves him in. Though the appearance of a slightly familiar face makes her pause, uh oh. "Oh...is he here about that Opal?" she mutters to herself as she gives a smile. Nah. "You brought a visitor. How nice." she looks to Hank with a grin.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym was in the doorway when he was hailed and described as well met. He turns to Dr. Druid holding the door open. Excellent timing, Anthony. Please come in. This is my friend Dr. MacIntyre. I inferred she wanted to meet you."

He turns to Morrigan and says, "I... some days I like to stay busy, some days very busy indeed. Anyway I found a glass case for storing my little artifacts and keepsakes. While I was sifting through them I remembered I had a pile of these things. Here, I'm afraid I only had new ones in XL. Well you can use it for a tent." He holds up a Giant-Man Fan Club tee shirt in blue. "I've been handing them out to friends on a lark. But my manners elude me, Doctor Druid, Dr, MacIntyre. I believe baudelaire needs no introduction. Bo! Leave that chair alone."

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid offers his hand cheerfully, "Dr. McIntyre, a pleasure to meet you. I insist you call me Anthony. Druid may be my nom de superhero, as it were, but there's no need for such formalities among colleagues," he says.

"I can get you in touch with some marketing people if you'd like to try and increase your merchandising sales, Hank. Others may scoff, but having such revenue streams only frees our time to do more important work. Not that either of us have to worry much about money anymore. But still, it feels good to be productive."

"Tell me about this institution of yours, Dr. MacIntyre."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
So Doctor Druid isn't here to give her a talking to! Morrigan feels instantly better. Or worse maybe, who knows? She gives a smile to Hank as he hands her...a t-shirt. "I could always use something new to sleep in. Thanks Hank." she tells him with a smile as she folds the shirt and places it over her arm. "Come on in and have a seat. Can I get you a drink?" she asks the two of them. Morrigan reaches out to take Druid's hand and gives a friendly handshake, "Feel free to call me Morrigan. It's nice to meet you, Anthony." she tells him.

"Ah, our school. Well as we just announced we teach human, meta, mutant and other students here. Our purpose is to give them normalcy. Also we'd like to make sure that they get the chance that they might not if left on their own to hide." the Irishwomand states.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym looks a little horrified as Dr. Druid mentions starting a fan club again. "Thank you. Heck no." He turns aside abruptly to speak soundlessly to Bo, who adopts a sitting position. "And don't forget it!"

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid smiles to Hank. He had been teasing, at least a little bit, but Anthony also enjoys the limelight more than most. "You deserve more appreciation, my friend, but I understand wanting to avoid too much stroking of the ego. Mine is big enough for all of us," he winks.

"I've no need of libations. Morrigan, eh? An intriguing name with even more intriguing history. If you're half as formidable as your namesake, you must keep the students well in line," the Englishman smiles. "Normalcy can be a complicated thing. I'm not sure there is such a thing anymore, but I think I understand what you mean. Stability, the ability to have the kind of life and friendships and experiences common among other high school kids."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"I mean, everyone needs a fan club, right?" Morrigan gives a soft smile to that. She was someones number one fan. She'd just never admit to it. She gives a look to Bo, "Thank you for not hurting the chair, Bo." she grins. Then she settles down into her chair and gives a look to the two men in her office.

"My adopted parents are huge into Irish mythology and all of that. With all my traveling I've wanted to go, but everytime I schedule a trip something goes wrong." she shrugs. "What is funny about the normalcy part of this school is that most of it's teachers and aides don't really know what Normalcy is." she admits to that. She burned in sunlight, so yeah, not normal. "So far it's been alright. The kids seem to be happier that we've gone public so that those who are more open about their powers can use them. We don't allow a lot of power use on campus, but as long as its not disruptive it's fine." she explains.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym grabs a chair for himself. "No. Fan. Club. Next thing you know... they're ripping your shirts to shreds and mailing them to you. I have plenty of ego. I just stroke it building things for SHIELD. It also makes bank for Hank. As for power use, I walk around with a giant ant. Though I did get him classified as a service animal. So using your powers in a socially acceptable way is a laudable goal. I wish someone had told me there were other things I could do with my shrinking serum besides fighting crime and chasing a socialite. Sorry... I'm feeling a little off today. But you know I get this way."

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid nods, "I have a unique perspective, I suppose, having once been 'normal', as they say, and becoming more gradually less so. My abilities are a result of learning, training and study, rather than a sudden epiphany or transformation. I imagine it's so much more difficult when you're young, especially a teenager. Hormones must be far more troubling when you also have to contend with superhuman strength or energy blasts or hearing the thoughts of your crush," he says.

"If you have any students with that sort of issue, I'd be happy to help. Mental discipline and shielding are specialties of mine, and it's a useful skill even for non telepaths who value their privacy."

"I'm sure you could do anything you put your mind to Hank. Feeling a little off? Have you been on your medications, friend? Or do you think you need them adjusted?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's look softens a bit when Hank speaks on feeling off, "Is everything okay?" she asks him. "If you need anything we're here." she adds. Morrigan was always up for talking. Especially since she was a night owl.

She gives a look to Anthony then, listening to him as he speaks, "Well...we do have guidance counselor and positions like that open. Mister Wilson is great at what he does, but with his Avengers post he is rather busy." she admits. "We do have children that would benefit from your sort of expertise. Actually I know of one that would probably welcome it." she nods to him.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym smiles a little. "It turns out antidepressants raised hell with my powers, and health, Anthony. I dare not use them again. So I deal by scheduling activities, meditation, music, and talking to friends. I just live one day at a time. Forever. I appreciate the offers but there are points I can talk and points where I need a sign saying 'Bites, do not approach!' Sometimes I go iceskating. Well now it will just be skating."

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid frowns a bit, "That's terrible to hear, my friend. I appreciate that those things can help, but illness is a medical issue, not merely one of therapy. Your mental health -is- your health, Hank. Obviously, if the side effects are unbearable, you should find a different option," he says. He realizes he may need to keep a closer eye on his own friend if he's trying to face the mountain of trouble that can come with such sickness.

To Morrigan, he smiles, "I'd be happy to be of service and it's also okay for you to say you don't need me anytime. I don't want my celebrity to influence anything. Of course, kids aren't exactly my key demographic. I tend to be more popular with soccer moms."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Hank and there's a frown, maybe he'd listen to the other Doctor. So many Doctors in one room! "What the Doctor said." she smiles to that. Then there's a look back to Anthony, "We'd love to have you here, Doctor Ludgate." she admits. "Even if it's part time or when you have the extra time to drop in. I know that others have a lot on their plate." she admits. "I know of you through Hellboy and others. Though I am mad at that Cambion for the moment." she huffs softly with a chuckle. "The good thing with the school is that the pay is good and you're not going to be bored." she muses.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym ahs. "The soccer moms. I almost didn't make it to my Uber the other day. Fortunately I distracted them by pointing and saying, "Hey is that Nick Drago!?" and shrinking out of sight... Ludgate? I thought being named Druid was an amazing coincidence."

He adopts a more serious tone. "I am handling things myself. You all are a big help. But those meds were literally killing me... and they weren't working all that great. Especially after I was captured by an alternate universe Pym Ultron cyborg and subjected to mental probes for two weeks. But... Pymtron didn't get what he wanted from me. It turned out being manic screwed with his probes. I came away from it stronger. I realized, no one ever broke me except Hank Pym. I will not be broken again. I started wearing my Yellowjacket gear again. In part it was because a lot of me gear was destroyed but really it was to demonstrate I am not the person who attacked the Avengers. That Yellowjacket is no more. I own what I did but... if people don't understand I've moved on the hell with them."

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid smiles, "Ludgate is my legal name, yes. Druid became my identity when I began to perform as a mentalist on the stage and, well, I have always been deeply versed in Druidic magic and Celtic sorcery, as well as Tantric practice and yoga. Druidry, to me, has so much in common with Eastern mysticism, they are natural allies. Of course, I don't expect you to understand such things as a man of science, Hank. It's as foreign as you talking about the specificities of molecular physics. I can grasp the direction, but little of the details."

"So long as you feel stable, friend, that is all I care about. I, too, understand the desire to free yourself of the burdens of the past. We all have failures. They do not need to define us."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Hank, but doesn't add to the mix, she wasn't a psychologist. Her violet gaze does flick back to Anthony and she smiles, "I've studied magics for a very long time, so we should get along swimmingly." she tells him. "And I think that we can get your paperwork and things in order. Plus an office set up here since you'll need the room. Is there any specific questions that you had for me?" she asks him.

Hank Pym has posed:
Hank Pym casts a glance at Baudelaire and then gets up. He extends a hand to Anthony. "I will let you two work things out. I'm glad I could enable this meeting. However Baudelaire is getting quite rambunctious. I think I'm going to let him clear those trees the last storm brought down. Give the groundskeepers a nice surprise. Bo... come." Hank holds out a hand and the ant obligingly places the handle for the leash in it. "Spring you know."

Anthony Druid has posed:
Anthony Druid smiles, "Of course, Hank. Must attend to your friend," he smiles, giving his old friend a handshake and a squeeze of the shoulder, to let him know that Anthony is there for him.

"As for anything specific, nothing that springs to mind. I'd be pleased to compare some of our mystic learning sometimes. I enjoy a good ecumenical exchange," he smiles.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to Hank as he stands and there is a smile, "Thank you for introducing us, Hank. It is appreciated." she tells the man. "I'll see you tomorrow though." she adds. Then she looks to Anthony and there is a smile, "I'd be happy to talk on training and things. It's been a bit since I've seen Strange or others, but I know he's busy." she muses. "Either way, I will send you the paper work and things as I have to go grab Tyler before he scares the new librarian again." she chuckles as she stands up. "Welcome to Happy Harbor. We'll be better for having you." she tells the Druid.
